We had a lovely roast dinner served by chef Connor who was very helpful and kind. Great service and value for money and food was yummy!

The chef Connor was friendly, full of conversation and served food that was absolutely spot on! Midday carvery at the Maypole is always a good shout. Definitely recommend.

Great experience and a young lady called Kerry was absolutely fantastic a very polite waitress. I had a very positive experience.

Service was excellent and Kay was a very good waitress made us laugh with her wicked sense of humour. Food was also lovely and very yummy.

We went to the Maypole as a group of Widows in the Jolly Dollies, a national initiative to help widows socialise. I like the Maypole, it’s almost my local and I was pleased that the members all had positive things to say, the food was good, only a short wait for a table and a short wait to pay for our carvery tickets. Two members ordered from the menu, the rest of us (7) had carvery. I remembered that last time I felt stuffed, being one of the post-war kids who were never allowed to leave or waste food so that day I had a small plate and it was quite enough, comfortably full. The food was great, three meats, individual Yorkshire puds, a huge choice of vegetables and three types of gravy! No room for Dessert! As I was about to leave the carvery, one of the kitchen staff asked i could manage my plate and offered to take it for me. Sweet soul, I would’ve struggled as I use a stick, so I was grateful. Proactive staff - great, innit!!

We all had the carvery very good plenty of choice we had Beef Gammon and Turkey. Staff very pleasant and tables very clean

So we came for the carvery which is always good . Tip top service and Sam helped save the day . I ordered the wrong size plate and Sam (server) suggested simply boxing it up to take no home . Great idea and not a waste of food as the son gets a meal now too. Great work Sam

The service was very friendly and really on point. When discussing dishes the staff were well informed and knew what ingredients were used. Would definitely recommend it as a wonderful dining experience Thanks to Paris for looking after us so well she was a little gem.

We are regular visitors to the Maypole and we have lovely food every time. The only thing that lets it down is the Manager Steve. He is so unapproachable and very rude. He has no customer service. We had an issue and tried to speak to him but he was so aggressive since then we avoid him as much as possible.

A decent meal at a reasonable price. There were three of us eating lunch, two for carvery and one had scampi and chips. Carvery was good, lots of choice of vegetables and freshly cooked Yorkshire puds. Scampi and chips were okay.

Lovely breakfast & great service. Especially Kay she was fantastic. Recommend for a large group. Easy self service breakfast. Nothing too much trouble for Kay.

We usually visit the maypole when I have been to see my mum who is in a care home and we have the carvery. In this occasion Maxine the waitress was very helpful.. kind and making sure we were ok at all times . She is a very good waitress to your company and to the Maypole. Star points should be given

We are regulars to maypole for breakfast and carvery, Heather always deals with our requirements and has gone out of her way to sort our boxing day booking out, when others were not interested. She is always approachable and will always resolve any issues. She is our 1st port of call.

We’ve visited this venue on many occasions over the years and in the early days it’s was generally consistently good across the board then it seemed to loose its way which was disappointing to see . Our visit today was an experience we will hopefully have more of on future visits . We treated 2 of our grandchildren and their mum to a carvery but unfortunately we hadn’t booked and it looked like we had to look elsewhere . This is where the first pleasant surprise came in , Heather who was front of house was very insistent that we wait while she had a look and came back , she’d found us a table on the proviso we were not there more than 2 hours , we accepted this . Once seated we were served very promptly , again there recent times when all that happened was the queue getting longer George your eyes and hardly any staff serving . After placing our order we queued for our meals and while the gammon and Turkey were moist and decent portion wise , the beef was like the proverbial old leather which the 2 children in particular were not happy with . My wife and brought this to the intention of another member of staff who was passing our table , she apologised and said she would most certainly let the chef know and went off . She came back a few moments later and again apologised for the sub standard beef and offered the children free desserts which immediately put a smile on their faces and they most certainly enjoyed them . We were a bit worried as time was getting on and as Heather who had graciously allowed us the table passed by I told her we wouldn’t be long . She responded with a very reassuringly “ Don’t worry you’ve got enough time “ ! Once again our thanks to Heather front of house and the young lady who ( sorry didn’t get her name ) for putting a rather big smile on our grandchildren’s faces with the unexpected desserts.

Overall really nice. Beef on carvery was extremely chewy however the staff were happy to swap the meat for us and offered free desserts. Staff members in particular to thank where Aaliyah and Sam - both gave fantastic customer service.
