Ye Three Fyshes in Bedford

Lovely setting and nice olde worlde decor inside. We had an afternoon cream tea around £16 each. On the plus side there was plenty of sandwiches and cakes all of which were very tasty, plus staff were friendly. On the minus side we were made to sit in an alcove with very little room, despite there being only 2 other tables occupied. There was background music which was too loud. Overall a pleasant afternoon with a few annoyances.

Lovely atmosphere and great staff. Drinks were nice and chilled just right and got a couple of drinks as a take away. Recently had lovely new benches in the garden and very dog friendly....even a dog bar out the back 😀

We came in for a Sunday roast this weekend, and it had to be one of the best we've had for a very long time and the best for miles around the area. It came with unlimited potatoes, and in a sharing bowl there was really creamy mash, parsnip puree, greens and carrots. And extra gravy! Meat was really tender, and it came with all the trimmings. We had puddings too, and they went down really well, service was fab and the restaurant itself is lovely. We'll definitely be back.

We went for afternoon tea today and it was lovely. The food was delicious, the customer service exceptional, all in a beautiful building. The staff were very accommodating for my fussy children. Would highly recommend afternoon tea here.

Amazing place lovely food and great staff right by the great river nene well worth stopping in the large car park just past the pub after going over the river bridge it is well sign posted.

Great welcome lovely staff and the menu has something for everyone. I enjoyed the food and had a lovely evening. This is a lovely pub and in the summer months is great to visit for lunch in the garden by the river. Hope to visit again soon.

Absolutely fantastic Mothers Day meal - utterly delicious and brilliant service too! Nothing was too much trouble and the food was out of this world - lamb shank was so tender and veg delicious. Veggie curry got a massive thumbs up too. Thanks so much for giving us such a special celebration x

Excellent homemade afternoon tea

This pub came highly recommended by a friend and we’re very glad we came. Sunday lunch was excellent. Plenty of lovely hot food the whole family enjoyed. We will definitely visit again.

The perfect dog friendly village pub. Staff go above and beyond. Have been twice now and will be back. First visited with a friend on a weeknight and was cosy and quiet. Visited today for Sunday dinner and did not disappoint. Unlimited veg and roasties, reasonably priced and delicious food. A bonus that it's dog friendly in the bar area so we could still enjoy the Sunday roast and bring our dog along. Would definitely recommend. Also, be sure to book a few days in advance for Sunday dinner as we visited last minute so choices were understandably limited. Shout out to Peter who has served us both times we've visited and he's been fantastic.

Fantastic Sunday roast food was incredible and the staff were brilliant, the heating and the fire 🔥 were on lovely atmosphere near the river.

We opted for the take away option for a movie night in with the kids , food was delicious and nice and hot , delivered on time, would highly recommend and order again.

My family and I had a lovely lunch at the Three Fyshes yesterday. The lunchtime menu has lots of choice and the four of us each ordered something different. Food was excellent, very tasty and well presented. The staff were really friendly and welcoming too. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

This was our second visit here and the food was as good as ever. I had a steak and onion ciabatta and the steak was very tender. The accompanying salad and chips were good too. My fried had a chicken, bacon and avocado salad which looked amazing. Service was friendly and prompt. Definitely coming again. Please note that there is an ample car park just a few feet down the road from the pub itself. A pub sign highlights where it is so it's easy to find.

If we had a pound for every time we have said we should pop into this pub when we drive past, we would be rich. Today, we made a special journey to visit the three fyshes, and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the bar was well stocked with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. We ordered from the lunchtime menu, and the food was timely with quality ingredients used, and it was great value for money. The atmosphere during our visit was relaxing. The outdoor space would be perfect on a summer day, and we will be back.

The pub is definitely a lovely place, managed by lovely people. I would like to invite the Chef to reevaluate the afternoon tea menu, As too many cheap (thus not tasty) pastries create savoury/sweet imbalance in it. However, the scones are a delight as the clotted cream. The sandwiches are fresh and very tasty. More of them would have been appreciated... About other dishes on the menu, I tasted some and all was fresh and delicious. I will come back...

Wonderful place. Went for Sunday lunch and it was lovely, but asking for non pink beef, made it a little tough. Other than that the rest of the roast dinner was great. We went on a Sunday and had a bit of a wait, for the food, as we were a party of 6. It was worth the wait though! Everything was tasty and cooked perfectly. The staff were attentive and we would go back again.

This is a such a lovely pub set in a quiet rural setting with super friendly staff and customers, lovely food and a great selection of drinks. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I’m lucky enough to live close by. Dogs are allowed and on a cold night with the wood fire on (smells lovely) it’s as cosy as you can get. There’s water bowls inside and out for the pups. In the warmer temps, there’s a beer garden at the back with the great river Ouse running past to keep you cool. Easy accessible from Bedford, Northampton and Milton Keynes on the A426. We’ll worth a visit.

Stopped off here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and had a lovely lunch. Merenda on the bar was very attentive and pleasant. The food was excellent value and very well presented. Will be stopping off here again in the future

They have a limited menu but my word the ordinary becomes extraordinary. I don't know why never been before but shall certainly be back .

I travelled from Norfolk to meet up with friends for lunch at the Three Fyshes. I had previously booked a bar table online, then after a week, with no confirmation received, I tried to ring the pub but nobody answered. I then emailed for confirmation but did not receive a reply. I rang again a day later, to be told that my booking was confirmed. When my friends & I arrived for lunch, there was no booking recorded and no vacant tables. We had to wait for an empty table which resulted in 2 small tables pushed together. Needless say I say, we were very unimpressed.

Had a lovely catch up with friends here. I haven't been to Three Fyshes in years, and I'm glad it still hasn't lost its charm. The outdoor seating area is large...if your a smoker you get to stand in the naughty area! Beautiful scenery, quietly located in a small village next to the river.

I had been meaning to visit this place for a while after hearing positive things from friends. Safe to say I was not disappointed! The quality of the food was excellent with a variety of options available for various dietary requirements and the prices are very reasonable. A beautiful country pub that has both indoor and outdoor seating, with shaded areas. Dogs welcome. Parking isn't directly behind, it's the car park in the next road along parallel to the pub. There is a sign post though, and it's free. You can enter via the main door or straight through to the back garden. Pay at the bar when you order if you're eating outside.. Service was fast and the food was nice.. The toilets were clean and the seats were comfortable. It's quite picturesque and you can go for a walk by the river afterwards.. We didn't book and still got a table in the garden easily ( during the day ). Relaxing lounge music was playing in the garden too, with a dedicated smoking area.. I cannot fault this pub and I would say it definitely has atmosphere and is worth a visit.

We have had a number of Sunday roast dinners at various pubs/restaurants and this one at The Three Fyshes is the best we have had……..The quality of food was outstanding plus the unlimited supply of roast potatoes (so nice) mash and vegetables made it special....

We had afternoon tea here and it was amazing and the location is beautiful. Well worth a visit. The food is fresh and tasty. Sandwiches delicious and atmosphere was lovely.

First time visiting this place .. it’s very warm and welcoming. Oldie worldie but with a contemporary modern style twist .. the huge open fire in the bar area is stunning. I liked the place soon as I walked in .. they had a lovely Pinot blush which again won a brownie point with me but the icing on the cake was the food! The fillet steak was not only huge but cooked to perfection and one of the best Iv had. The cheese board was a winner too .. we were served by Alison initially then by Sarah. Both ladies were polite attentive & just very lovely & friendly I’ll defo be back for a nice lunch outside on a sunny day as it looked beautiful even in the rain.. 100% worth a visit

Wasnt overall impressed with this place. We were told we would have to wait 15 minutes before we could order food and the beer was off at the tap. Staff didn't seem bothered at all and didn't even apologise. Won't be coming back.

Went along for afternoon tea , the sandwiches were tasty and the cakes were gorgeous, the real stars were the scones light and fluffy , staff were efficient and very helpful would definitely love to return
