Sunday lunch at the millhouse is lovely. The food is great quality, served hot and great value for money. The team a friendly and efficient and always happy to help. The atmosphere is really lovely in the restaurant/conservatory. Great for people with mobility issues as it's all on the ground floor and the doors all have ground level thresholds so no problem for walking frames or wheelchairs.

This is honest and fair review. We stayed 2 nights for a wedding, within minutes of checking in we were horrified that the ‘family room’ (room 8) was even being let out. I have seriously been in cleaner student digs! It smelt of a mixture of damp and dirt. The shower didn’t just drip it ran constantly, the curtains/nets were filthy, discoloured and broken. The camp bed for kids had slats missing so head and bottom went through as they laid on them. The floor felt damp and dirty, and would say hadn’t been hoovered for some time, especially into the corners. Outside the room there was small balcony which overlooked the river, unfortunately this sounds more picturesque than the ashtray full of old discarded cigarettes….. definitely not child friendly! Needless to say I had a sleepless night in this awful room leaving me nervous for what was to come the next day. Unfortunately we were unable to be moved due to hotel being fully booked and needing to be there for a wedding (although never saw another resident until other guests checked in the nxt day for the wedding) after speaking with staff there was absolutely no argument or push back about how awful the room was which made us think they knew it was below acceptable standard. Needless to say we didn’t pay for this room. However they did continue ur to check other guests into this room regardless of them accepting our very valid complaints! On the Saturday we were moved to another room (room10) which didn’t smell, was cleaner and we were happy to stay. Decor is very dated and would easily be made to feel more special and plush if a little money was spent on decorating and updating furniture. This said, I could not fault the reception marquee or staff. Staff remained polite and accommodating even when we had complained. The food at the reception was delicious, tasty and aplenty!

Booked to visit here for afternoon tea, didn’t need to as place was empty.Sat outside, on a very uncomfortable pub garden bench. Very scruffy and neglected gardens, the pond area needs some attention and isn’t a pleasant area to sit and take in the view as it was very overgrown. Afternoon tea disappointing, tea cups not afternoon tea suitable, sandwiches stale and for 3 people and for the price not adequate. Certainly not as the website looks from the photos, maybe once this place was lovely, but sadly not anymore.

Two words. Pudding. Night. Doesn’t get much better than £17 per person, for a main course and UNLIMITED desserts (12 desserts, one of each, if you order for delivery). The food is always exceptional, well cooked and tasty. The service is always very good and the staff are always polite. There’s a very good selection of drinks available, including some lovely cocktails expertly made by the bar staff (at a reasonable price too). If it’s a special occasion, you can purchase Cuban cigars from the selection at the bar. We had a conversation with Karl (possibly the manager/owner) who was very accommodating and extremely helpful and polite, an excellent reflection on the hotel and restaurant. From me, this place comes highly recommended.

Thank you so much for hosting our wedding last week. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Karl, Katie and all of the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us as much as possible given the covid restrictions. Nothing was too much of an ask and they made sure the whole day went so smoothly. The food was amazing, the hotel was stunning and every one involved was incredibly friendly, professional and made us feel so welcome.

While our meals in the restaurant were excellent I can't say the same for our room. When we booked, some weeks prior to our trip, I was told that we would be getting a ground floor room,that opened onto the garden. We were travelling with our dog, which is why the hotel gave us the ground floor room. On checking in we discovered we had an upstairs room. Upon inquiring about the promised room I was told there was already someone in it. The room we had was very small and very hot. The only cooling was provided by an inadequate fan. There were no opening windows. The included breakfast consisted of a box in the room containing a jam filled croissant,an apple,a muesli bar and a box of orange juice. Although we could have the promised breakfast on Sunday morning but the earliest time was after we were leaving. We drove to St. Neots and found a very nice,dog friendly,cafe. We cut short our 3 night stay by 1 night,even though we had already paid. Have given 3 stars due to good meals and friendly staff.

Great place to eat with the family and the food is very good.

Can't give a full verdict as we arrived on a day the restaurant/reception was closed,. We were advised how to check in and it was an easy process,. Staff were very helpful with a query I had and I enjoyed my stay,. Slept very well. The hotel is well situated and is a 20 min walk from the village,. Plenty of nice walking on the doorstep,. I would definitely stop again.

Room very unclean, shower was filthy, cobwebs on ceiling. Mould on shower door. Woke to a big spider on the bed, would not recommend!! Extremely disappointed with food. Seems as if it had been pre cooked and frozen and just reheated, certainly not fresh, probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!

Ordered online, two roasts. Delivered bang on time , attention to detail spot on. Excellent. Three meat roast amazing, quantity was exactly right. Friendly delivery lady. Definitely will be ordering again, menu great and good value for money. Really chuffed!

Probably covid but this was not a great experience. The worst bit was being locked in so we couldn't get out for some food and no kettle in the room.

Loved it, everything was cooked really well, the steak was cooked just how I liked it and the sauce was lovely. The Eton mess was delicious too 😁 And Katie, the waitress was brilliant

So the the price is amazing absolute bargain! And the food is lolvey! A good classic selection of cakes and sandwiches my only issue was where we had the tea it needs a clean dead flys on the window sill and dusty which was a shame!

This is my bolthole whilst my daughter attends a dance class nearby. Good WiFi, generally quiet and not too bad when there's a party, and they serve my Earl Grey Tea with a smile.

Room nice and clean, no any issues. Restaurant far away from good in my opinion. I have asked for some fresh, regional dish. Think twice before you do this... bone in pork chop with some quasi chocolate around,only £16...frozen bread from microwave...

This is a great venue for almost any occasion. We held a wake at the Millhouse, Carl was careing & helpful, he couldn't have done any more for us. The food was really good, the tea, coffee etc didn't run out, everything went so smoothly, I didn't have to worry. Thank you to Carl & his staff.

Beyond shocking! Terrible! Afternoon tea was a joke, it felt more like a corporate board room table and the China matched that feel. The place was filthy, table, room, crockery and toilets, food was stale as though it had been made several hours earlier and left out open! Everything that should be cold was warm, salmon, egg and cream, scones were more like rocks, too hard to eat! Dreadful service, once served never saw anyone again! Doesn't even deserve one star!

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, i dont usually leave reviews buy this was so bad id had to warn people. I was put in room 8 which is out the back on it own, the "blanket" on the bed was like an old curtain and was full of stains the radiators didnt work and i had no hot water for a shower I definitely would not stay here again or recommend to anyone

We booked a small dining room overlooking the river for Sunday lunch to celebrate our Silver Wedding anniversary just 22 close family and friends....We were so pleased with the excellent service we received the manager and staff were all very helpful and polite the food was excellent the only slight criticism was the gravy was a little too salty. but this did not detract from the overall enjoyment of this lovely meal. In a lovely setting. We will be going again soon.

There was a wedding on that they didn't inform us of and it was very noisy until 2am. You had to wait around until someone spotted you at the bar to be served and our table at breakfast was dirty and still had the people before us dirty dishes on!

Came here for one of the evening meal event nights recently. There was a wedding reception in a marquee adjacent which looked lots of fun. One of the front of house staff admitted they normally give a full selection of meals, but that night they had a barbecue on as the main course option. Still, there was plenty to go around and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Seems there are repeat attendees who enjoy the buffet aspect....!! Worth noting with the buffet the clean crockery could have been cycled quicker as at one point bowls ran out when there was a line of people. Also, ice cream/sorbet was served as a single scoop in what appeared to be a glass tea light candle holder?! Dripping all over - funny but not practical. Small bowls are better! On a whole: Nicely presented venue with ample car parking and friendly staff, filling food, fun events.

Went too millhouse hotel for bike night. Only thier 2nd meeting so not many there yet. Its on the 1st sunday of the month from 6-10pm They,re doing a pint a burger and chips for £5. Friends had a try,said it was ok. Bar staff welcome you in. Will we go again?,yes.

We went, as a group, to the barbeque pudding night which included an unlimited choice of desserts. Service was brilliant, staff were extremely friendly and it was very well priced.

Went to wedding here at the weekend. Staff were amazing and the hotel itself was lovely.

Been here a few times now, and the food is good quality, typical pub food. We went on their 241 night. The sharing plate was a good sharer to start, plenty for 2 people. We both had steak for mains and asked for medium rare, however when they came up and we cut into them, they were clearly well done! We were quiet hungry, so didn’t want to wait any longer for our food. On a side note, there theme nights are brilliant, especially the pudding nights!

Excellent food Exceptional well mannered friendly staff This is a lovely peaceful place to visit for a meal. We liked it that much we stayed for the night to sample the breakfast an that was Spot on. Highly recommend for a meal, night or even a long weekend.

My review is based on what we paid which was £55 for a double room and breakfast. The room was clean and bed comfortable. A little dated but got to take the price into consideration. The shower worked well and we were given shower gel and shampoo. Unfortunately no soap for hand washing. We had a decent night sleep. Breakfast was good. I had a full English and my partner had a 3 egg omelette. Lots to choose on the continental breakfast too. Set in nice grounds, recommend taking a short walk to the lake.

Went for Sunday lunch 4 adults and 4 children aged from 9 months to 11 years and were very happy. Dinner was lovely atmosphere was very relaxed and we stayed for dessert. We had a pleasant chat and time to relax while the older children played outside. I'd definitely recommend taking advantage of the Sunday dinner offer & taking a break from having to do the dishes. Katie/Katy served us and was pleasant and accomodating.

Went for a Sunday roast on 24th February and it was the worst dinner I have ever been presented with. Chef said unfortunately he had to give us the end bits of the beef because it had been popular, even though we had reserved two early that morning!! Unfortunately we would't even cut the meat let alone eat it. Also on arrival there were tables that had food strewn all over them . Apparently they only had one person on and there was no time to clear and clean them. They need to go back to basics, hire a new chef and enforce basic food and hygiene procedures.

Ate here over the weekend hotel is a tired affair and pricey for the price We were having Sunday lunch with friends waitress was vibrant fresh and charming unlike the food tired boring and expensive it seemed kitchen was larking with the food style over substance and inexperienced cook near to school or branded food suits the hotel but not for us Try else where

We recently came here for afternoon tea- it was awful. Soggy sandwiches, sludgy coffee and tasteless cakes- sorry but one to definitely avoid.
