First visit in about 6 years. It's expanded a little but has not lost any of its charm. Sat on the banks of the river Ouse with ample seating inside and out. Numbered tables. Order at till and your food/drinks are brought to you. Very nicely cooked food. A little higher in price but then the quality and quantity is better than others I've had in the area. Recommended.

Lovely location by the River Great Ouse, we had been visiting friends in the nearby picturesque village of Willington, when we were told of this gem, hidden away on the banks of the river Great Ouse. Having walked along tree lined winding paths we entered the Danish camp, met by a smiling Host Roy, we were shown to a table on the impressive balcony, overlooking the river where drinks were ordered and brought to our table. The place was quite busy, for reason! it's special and a very popular establishment with a unique historical past. The comprehensive menu meant we were all able to order our chosen dishes, orders taken and another round of drinks the food was brought out hot and well cooked, people were now queuing to enter the restaurant part, there's some lovely outdoor seating areas on a beautifully lawned area. Definitely going back next time we are visiting Bedfordshire. Apart from the restaurant, this place also I believe has a river boat offering trips along the river on certain days. Highly recommended.

Our full English breakfast was delicious served promptly on hot plates. The staff are very pleasant and willing to help and advise on menu options. There was for us plenty of seating to choose from we chose to dine outdoors. 🍳🌭🍽 afterwards we went for a quiet stroll looking at the moored boats and then going to see the aviary with the beautiful budgies and I think some barn owls 🦅🦜🐥🐥 I'd recommend a visit if your in the area for a meal snack or a beer they also have a couple of bars and icecream 🍦🍦🍦🍺🍺🍹🍷hopefully you'll enjoy your visit 😃

Found this place very difficult to find, alone with just SAT NAV. Plaque small, phone number from web unhelpful. My experience IS my experience! No obvious apparently huge car park, no signs to large car park either. But plenty of criticism from woman who backtracked phone call. I went to a tremendous amount of effort to visit what I expected to be a lovely place and the day shone also. My experience was less than. If I’m expected to run all over an ‘overflow’ park, told I missed it (by caller). What is going on? I’m STUNNED at her poor attitude! A driver should be watching the road, the only sign, which is angled slightly away from a drivers main focus, shouldn’t be upbraided for watching the road (which came to a dead end). THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG! Proof would be found in a ‘Subject Request’ of dialog. Please take someone with you. In heavy traffic on skinny road, with folk parked up so there is only aa single lane (welcome to England). It can be hard to find. And one is not allowed to say so!

The coffee is made by two bean to cup machines which seamed to be at the better end of fully automated coffee making. However, it is a million miles from a well made good coffee from a good barista. The beans used were ok and didn’t have the bitterness of cheap coffee but overall it was a very ordinary overpriced coffee. It was £4.10 for a flat white, I paid £4.00 for the same drink at a specialty coffee shop in London which was way better.

We were at an event nearby and got chatting with a couple who are keen walkers and they mentioned this place , we had enough time so decided to pop down with view to planning a future visit as there are some decent walks in the area which include the Priory Marina . We were not hungry so decided to grab an ice cream and sit by the river ,but first walked into the bar / restaurant area and although the staff members saw us we were not acknowledged in any way so after checking it out we went to the small kiosk , purchased our ice creams , the staff member was friendly enough then we went to find table by the river . The scenery is lovely and is certainly appealing as well as relaxing but what we noticed was most of the empty tables including ours had not been cleared which isn’t a good look for any restaurants when new customers walk through the door . Having looked at the menu , prices , the ice cream was only 1 x scoop ( not that big ) and cost £3 , the amount of tables that had not been cleared during our visit, the lack of any acknowledgement from bar staff and the reviews which mentioned it was a better venue in the past we doubt very much we would be dining there . We will pop in for a coffee, when going for a walk or cycling and leave it at that until the reviews and word of mouth experiences convince us otherwise.
