Called in for a refillable cuppa, one of the better wetherspoons for this, as they tend to look after the drinks station a bit more, we have been in some where it is just ignored & a complete mess, no tidying up or refilling

Not a bad JD Wetherspoon pub at all to be fair

My wife described this as a sad Wetherspoon's. To be fair, it's the usual service, food and drink. Pretty much what you'd expect. There did seem to be more depressed people than usual in there though. It's Wetberspoon's, just even sadder.

Can't comment on the rooms but was unable to complete a review without rating them! It's a Spoons! Don't expect a fine dining experience or you'll be disappointed. It's always busy. Usually have to jump on a table when it's vacated and wait for it to be cleaned. But, can order cheap booze and food to be delivered to the table. *Update- Stopped in on a Saturday for a quick bite. Had the fiesta brunch and it was great. The place was packed but we managed to find a table and the food was served quickly!

Great Place to stay the night. Room was tidy and comfortable. Great location with the train and bus station near by. Friendly staff. Nothing better than having a couple of pints then falling into bed.

Absolutely poor. Our cutlery was dirty and returned for clean and the staff member put the dirty cutlery back in with the clean pieces. Food arrived and was warm at best. The pepsi max drinks we ordered were flat. Staff were not interested one bit. I wouldn't advise spending your money here.

Typical Spoons, food was nice and the staff friendly

Mostly busy. Food and drinks are cheap n' cheerful. Beers are always good, so far not had a duff pint. Staff always friendly.

Visted on a number of occasions. The Guinness is always spot on. Poured correctly. The food is excellent value and quality. The ground coffee is very good and amazing value. Staff are helpful and available. Lewis is the barman stands out. Very polite ,welcoming and efficient 5 star

Easy to get to, rooms can be a bit noisy, but they work for my partner as close to work when he is Bedford. Fantastic rooms for the price and extremely clean! Highly recommended them!

Kitchen closed for refurbishment but food menus still out and nothing anywhere stating this until you ask! Extreemly poor management....

Room was outstanding and spacious. Rainfall shower and separate bath with hot water and heated rail for towels . Very nice attention to detail.

Met up with some work friends for a few beers , good atmosphere and cheap drinks and food. Recommended.

well what can i say the toilets dont lock in the gents and theres an atitude problem with the staff the manager had a face of thunder and looked like they didnt want to be a work when i mentioned this they told me i broke the lock but there all the same oh well they lost my custom

I was impressed with the two tier inside and outside layout of this Spoons. I enjoyed a simple steak and jacket potato with a lefffe for around a tenner. The presentation of the meal wasn't the best, but the steak was excellent. Best of all was the room. Generous biscuits and water, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate sachets, but the real treat was that I could use the mug for hot drinks in the restaurant. Very good location in the town centre close to parking, shops and other bars.

Great little place to stay, staff are great and food is always good. Only downside is parking!

Missed breakfast by 10 minutes due to bus mix up. Burger and chips was a decent replacement though…

A really super Wetherspoons with friendly staff and lots of tables.

The pub itself has nothing wrong with it. Unfortunately some of the staff are extremely rude and homophobic. I was asked for ID and refused service though I am pushing 30 years old. While simultaneously I watched 2 girls who couldn't be older than 15 get served and not asked for ID I'm assuming this is because of my sexuality. Rest assured I will not be back and would urge members of the LGBTQ to stay away!

Always good ales and always found the staff very pleasant

Staff (including management) are working with the regulars to steal customers (who are new or not frequent to this particular spoons) bags and belongings. An absolute disgrace. Especially when I’ve never had to deal with people even trying to steal my belongings when in high pick-pocketing areas of London.

In the armpit of Bedford town centre this is your typical Wetherspoons, filled with typical Wetherspoons customers, Best thing is that most of these regulars cannot make it up the stairs to the little mezz floor leaving this free for regular folk to come and enjoy the wonders of Spoons in relative normality.

Down to earth pub, great prices, food and drink deals. Love they bought 1/3 pint tester out now..

Dos de nosotros fuimos al Progreso del Peregrino tarde/temprano por la noche. Uno de nosotros era vegano, pero los dos elegimos del menú vegano - ¿y por qué no? La razón por la que no se aclaró rápidamente... Los dos pedimos el "Más Allá de la Hamburguesa" ... y ciertamente estaba "más allá" de algo - la creencia en este caso, y no en el buen sentido ... Uno de nosotros lo tenía tal como venía, y el otro lo pedía sin el bollo. Antes de que nadie diga nada, el "bollo" es un rollo de brioche bastante patético e innegablemente diminuto. Es de suponer que el brioche es más barato que un bollo adecuado, por lo que no cabe duda de que las cucharas Wetherspoons las utilizan... pero debería haber una opción. La única gracia salvadora fue que pudo haber sido una mierda, pero al menos no había mucho de eso... lo cual es ridículo en sí mismo. De todos modos... "sin bollo" parecía traducirse a "sin bollo y sin ensalada". Y creo que quienquiera que fuera el cleptómano de la ensalada también había robado la mitad de las patatas fritas de ambos platos. Era un plato muy grande, con una comida muy, muy pequeña. ¡Ni siquiera estoy seguro de que ninguno de los dos hubiera cumplido con el requisito de las Normas Comerciales de haber sido vendido como comida para niños! ¿He mencionado las hamburguesas? Aproximadamente del tamaño de un guiño grande - guiño cada uno, si los guiños cosquilleos se hicieron de cartón ... y apenas más grueso. No hubo manera de salvar esta "comida". Cuando un miembro del personal se disculpó y trajo una pequeña cantidad de ensalada y algunas papas fritas más... y al menos tuvo la buena gracia de parecer avergonzado por lo que su empleador le estaba pidiendo que proporcionara a los clientes... pero su (mala) "solución" solo enfatizó lo mucho que Wetherspoons había fallado. He incluido una fotografía (tomada de cerca o puede que hayas tenido problemas para ver lo que se presentó) de la "comida" sin bollos, sin ensalada y sin patatas fritas. Very bad service. Staff messed up our order, which would have been fine except that they made us wait an hour and didn’t apologise once after charging us for what we didn’t buy - making it seem like it was our fault when we clearly asked for something different. We were very polite about it but the staff was being very rude in return. And very overpriced for 2 stingy pancakes.

Very busy. Staff were very polite. We had ordered lamb kofta flatbreads, about 1/2 later apologies,but they had run out, again not an issue, we ordered something else, little bit later, waitress came to say, it was ok flatbread dish was still available, just made her look bad... Again not an issue. Unfortunately, when dish arrived in stead of flatbreads, there were two small circles of wrap with delishous lamb kofta and fillings...this was very tasty, but if I'd known they were replacing the flatbreads, I would have changed my order. Didn't say anything at time as food was still very tasty and the staff were very busy. Would visit again.

Great place . Only had drinks with friends but fast service as always with Wetherspoons. Very large, I think it's probably one of the largest I have been in.

Burger have shrung in size but cost more.tables are never cleaned,always have to call someone to clean them

Called at 11am the date of our Stay to say we have no room. Booked 6 months in advance only to end up in this situation. Due to the festival in Bedford there was no other hotel with availability. Was sent to wetherspoons in the next town. Was promised to have our taxis paid for only to have to fork out the additional £120 ourselves. Staff then said oh well the Huntington hotel is £30 cheaper...... Also promised 20% off drinks in the pub. Again did not happen. Shocking management of a bad situation. Wrote to wetherspoons complaints multiple times with no response so have been left with no option but to express my review online. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Only had coffee and breakfast but all was great.

Didn't use the hotel, just the restaurant downstairs. Food was good, service efficient and good value. I hear from friends reports that the hotel is good quality and reasonable price. Revisit 1207/24: still good quality and value, our meals were served quickly and on hot plates too. Well satisfied.

Same value as any Weatherspoons plus the order to your table drink app very useful when busy

A pub we've visited many times over 30 years and will again. To watch sports eat and drink. And this time we stayed as well. It was during British Grandpris weekend. Still very good. Setup to cater for for many, which it did well. A room format many could learn from, only criticisms why only two teabags. Fellow guests do you seriously nick the toilet brush??

The room was clean and tidy we had our towels changed every day. In a good place just 15 minutes from the station 5 minutes and you're at the bus station

Was super pleased about the cask ale choices, especially Mad Squirrel’s London Porter. Glad that I’m a CAMRA member so used one of my 50p vouchers making the price of a wonderful pint to a ridiculously low price of £2.13. Had to have another two, didn’t I? Fish and chips never disappoints at whatever JDW.

A great 'spoons BUT with a Hotel attached. It's a win win situation. Everything you expect from them. Great value food and beer in a central location and the accommodation is Premier Inn standard but at a 'spoons price

Absolutely fantastic hotel room. Very modern and very clean, I can't fault it in any way.

I always say this is a great go to pub, for food and drink at great prices, however my last couple of visits that included food wasn’t quite as good, the food was not as good? What’s changed guys?, I had the madras curry yesterday, the naan was overdone, popadums under done, and the rice and curry not quite on it, has something changed in last couple of months? I’ve always thought that this particular pub was excellent for food. So come on get back to being great.

Fabulous stay at this hotel. Room was immaculate, large, walk in shower, comfy bed, hairdryer and iron in the room as well which was unexpected. Also two bottles of water plus tea, coffee and biscuits. Room was a tad small but fine for just one night. Very convenient not only for the pub downstairs (room was surprisingly quiet considering the hotel is above a pub) but close to all amenities in Bedford centre, including lots of pubs. Overall, a really positive experience and a much better room than the large chain we went on to stay in for the second night, who wanted £50 + for the extra night.

Can't go wrong with a Spoons. Great value for money, order at your seat and table service!

Very good rooms the bed was a bit hard but large room and one of the best witherspoon rooms we have stayed in but toilet roll cheap and thin friendly staff and helpful definitely recommend

Very rude bar staff who asked me to move along on an empty bar! I've drunk in hundreds of Spoons and never been treated so discourteously. Food look like the usual fare. Didn't see the rooms but read other reviews and I'm glad I'm in the premier inn. I will not be back. The Flower Pot is a much nicer, traditional pub which should be supported over this brexit loving home of neo fascits.

Good place to go as wetherspoons go. Lost a star unfortunately due to serving me a jacket potato with my steak instead of the chips I ordered but I didn't complain, probably did me good

On many an occasion too many to mention,hopeless service ,will never have enough people serving at the bar,last night said to 1 of the shift managers where's anyone to serve, "oh they're doing things",same person who said previously where is everyone, too many so called shift managers period,he or she spend half the time as waiter/waitresses on way more money ,half the time on their phones,particularly one female,couldn't organise a pxss up in a brewery . Tables and floor a mess most of the time. Customers continually queing up like sheep and around where your sitting. Attracts a different class of idiot to anywhere else. And the racket of people virtually shouting at each other to be heard above all the others doing the same and that given I play and listen to loud music.

Really nice fresh food took about 20 minutes to come all staff were super friendly would definitely recommend

Being the only Wetherspoons in Bedford- I'm glad this one is a big one. Can get full on a Saturday by 6pm. Fast service and friendly staff.

Great town centre pub/restaurant/hotel. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Food is great and at a reasonable price. Lots of alcoholic and normal drinks available. Located right in the Town centre. Access to all local amenities and bus and train stations.
