Mayflower in South Cambridgeshire

We ordered some Chinese for takeaway. My wife felt sick a couple of hours after eating. She started having stomach problem and vomiting. This was till early hours of morning. The food had a very old and used teste of oil and the mushroom tasted very strange as well. We called the restaurant and explained. She was not interested in accepting that there was a chance of food poisioning. She even asked my wife to go to hospital and bring a proof of food poisioing. The response we got from them was appaulong and I never experienced such bad response from a restaurant when the issue is to do with food poisioning and even if it wasn't then they could have dealt with it a lot better. Even not applogising or offering the cost of the food back which we were not that concerned. Overall, we might have been unlucky this time but we are not going back anymore.

Friendly and polite but I’d advise to check your food before leaving as I spent £17 After getting back to my hotel to find I’ve got the wrong order checked online to get telephone number to find the place was closed not happy at all

Excellent chinese takeaway. Deliveries are always on time! If you are considering using this chinese do Not wait and order ASAP to not be disappointed! If your order is more than £20 prawn crackers are on the house too which is an advantage.

First time we have tried this, haven't been happy with other Chinese takeaways. Had been using Lotus House since the 80's, Linton the staff are rude and we'd tried a couple in Haverhill. Mayflower is the best by far. Very clean, friendly staff and the food was very nice and the ingredients didn't taste cheap. Will definitely use again 🙂

One of the best chinese restaurants I have visited. If you require a big order to impress the family or friends I highly highly recommend this chinese! It is affordable and the food is of very good quality. If you order deliveries the drivers are very pleasant and proud to work for such a reputable chinese restaurant! Unique types of dishes allow alternative choices to become preferable. Would recommend to any individual group or business wishing to buy a takeaway to ensure 100% satisfaction!

Food is incredible, you can get unlucky with delivery and it being slow. One of the best Chinese in Cambridge with lovely sweet and sour.

This is one of the best chinese takeaways I have ever had and am a regular customer. The menu is vast and delivery fast. Only downfall is it is just a takeaway and only take cash. The food is excellent and portions good.

Ordered takeaway from here a few times and it’s alright. By no means exquisite and by no means terrible. It is average, sometimes a little on the greasy side but in general not too shabby. Fantastic if you have one of those hangovers that requires a Chinese delivered to your door or just really don’t want to leave your house. Failing that there are better Chinese takeaways not that far away.

Popped in on my way home from work. They have a great selection of Chinese foods and also Thai dishes which was nice to see. The food was all very tasty, very hot and not at all greasy as Chinese takeaway can often be! Will be back soon!

Food was tasty with the Singapore Noodles proving to be quite spicy. We couldn't see spring rolls on the menu and the person at the counter seemed very unenthusiastic.

We've used the Mayflower many times now, and it is by far the best Chinese takeaway in the area. The meals are always full of meat, nicely flavoured and tasty. Prawn toast is stuffed full of prawns and crispy. Chicken chow mein is is perfect and again full of chicken. If you fancy a takeaway, this is the place to call.

So I call and order my takeaway around 7.45 pm because I can't be bothered to cooked, get told by the lady on the phone it's going to be 1 hour and half (imagine it's busy then!) So I continue to go ahead and order and I wait for this order, 9.30pm it turns up! Not even hot, your can put your finger in it and it's luke warm, I had to put mine and my mums takeaway in the microwave... is this right? I called them and told them about the situation, the manager said "I will not refund if you have eaten the food, we can't refund if you if you have eaten the food, you are also the second person on the delivery run so it's not really our fault" hang on a second!!! How is this my fault I'm the second person on the delivery run huh???? Not only that you asked the customer to bring the food back for the refund! Are you serious? You food tonight was disgusting, the rice was awful, it was cold, the chips was hard, and you have by far NO customer care skills what so ever!! Very poor indeed, I shall not use you again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway from the mayflower again.....food was tasty, hot and delivered within a good timescale.

This was my favourite place to order from, and somewhere I recommended to everyone, after a meal I had delivered at the weekend I won't order again, the food arrived 25minutes after the maximum 45 minutes we were told.The food was awful and left 3 people very unwell the next day. I would like to say this was a one off but won't be taking the risk again

The best Chinese food in Sawston. Even as a take away meal I have never been disappointed. The food is top quality, piping hot and a huge selection on the menu, something to please everyones taste.

Having lived nearby for a few years we hadn't tried this place for take away. Despite the slightly run down outside appearance the food was good. Particularly enjoyed the sharing starter. A decent bet if looking for take away Chinese in the area.

Ahora ha sido un par de veces estoy impresionado con la opción de menú disponibles. Siempre estoy un poco nerviosa cuando la opción de menú "demasiado extenso" parece, pero tengo que admitir que la comida es siempre caliente y fresco aún cuando llegue a casa, buenas porciones tamaño (especialmente con los spring rolls 1 porción es suficiente para la familia!). todo coherente para llevar chino para la familia, siempre listo a tiempo. Me sorprende que este no tiene más comentarios. El único aspecto negativo es que no aceptan pagos con tarjeta, así que parada en el punto efectivo en el camino!

Nunca he comido en el restaurante, así que mi crítica se basa puramente en el servicio de comida para llevar. Después de haber probado todos los restaurantes chinos en Sawston a lo largo de los años, este es, de lejos, nuestro favorito personal. El hecho de que ofrece la entrega casa que ninguno de los otros restaurantes chinos local no le da una ventaja sobre su competencia. Si, como nosotros, viven en uno de los pueblos de alrededor más que en sí mismo sawston entonces útil tener la opción de entrega. Come here for takeaway loads and I have never been disappointed! One of the best Chinese's around by far!

We have a take-away from the Mayflower on an average once a month, and their food is always good, no nasty surprises, quick service, very good prices, and they deliver as well. The best Chinese take-away in the area.

Having just moved to the area, I wanted to find a local chinese takeaway, I had tried another one in sawston, but it was over priced and of a bad quality, Mayflower however was spot on, the service is friendly efficient and the order came witihin 20 minutes via delivery.The food was great, good quantity and tasty,, only moan,, a bit more hoisin sauce with the duck please,, thanks mayflower.

The only Chinese takeaway in the area that also delivers, this is always out first choice for Chinese food we either have it delivered or if the delivery waiting time is too long we go and collect within 20minutes, never had any problems

Fairly popular in Sawston but essentially it's just cheap food that's palatable, nothing more than that. They're dumplings are rubbish. A lot of people go there just to get Salt & Pepper Chips, if that means anything.

Really tasty food, great choice, staff always friendly and quick delivery service. The good is also reasonable priced
