I rate this breakfast as it is really good value. Many garden centres and other breakfast establishments are more expensive. Eggs just right, quick service. Even purchased a few plants from the garden center!

Awful. Have been before many, many times. This time, I ordered Fish. My other friends ordered different meals. When they arrived, the batter on the fish was a horrible yellow colour. I cut a small piece, and it tasted awful. I sent it back it was white glue like texture on the inside of the batter. A young lady came over in a very matter of fact manner and said what's wrong with it then. I told her and she said they would refund in a very abrupt manner. My friends were still eating. I'd waited 20 minutes, but nobody has been back I am writing this while in the restaurant. We had a lovely, delicious and fresh afternoon tea today to celebrate my mum’s birthday. It was great value for money with a fantastic selection of cakes to accommodate my nut allergy. They were so welcoming of my young dog in the dog friendly section too. Elaine went above and beyond all the way from us booking over the phone to the actual afternoon tea itself - thank you so much, a true asset to your organisation and an example of how all customer care should be :)

Went to the cafe at lunchtime, my wife had jacket potato which was okay, however I went for the big breakfast, which came out lukewarm, with hard dry bacon, mushrooms that were the whitest I had ever seen, not sure how they had been cooked but I don't think they were fried, the tomato was rock solid and sausage was lukewarm and eggs cold, as was the plate. Worst breakfast I have had in A very long time

It was so cold in the Restaurant that before i drank my tea it was cold stupid fans high up in the Ceiling were making it colder it was a very cold day took hours to get warm no i will never visit this place again

We booked afternoon tea and the staff were so helpful when I made the booking. We had a good choice of sandwiches with garnish, and the coronation chicken ones were lovely. It was served promptly when we arrived and out table was in a good place. The serving of cream for the scones wasn’t very generous, but the scones were good and served with raspberry jam, instead of the usual strawberry which definitely got a thumbs up from me. We took the cakes home as we were both full up, the cakes were ok, not the most exciting choices, but it’s a garden centre not a hotel, and for an afternoon tea it is well presented, all freshly made and good value. The staff here are always very helpful.

Covid Meet and greet woman was lovely. Ordered 2 veggie breakfasts. Not asked how wanted eggs and then when delivered to our table the eggs were missing. They came along quickly afterwards although an extra one thrown in for the inconvenience would have gone down well. And then the veggie sausages … I think if I’d known we were getting those awful frozen vegetable pea fingers I would have swerved the whole breakfast. Need to update their menus to reflect the fact that there are really tasty veggie sausages out there now. For example Richmond sausages do an amazing one! The rest of the breakfast was lukewarm not hot and the tomatoes neither cooked or uncooked! Have had much better. And it wasn’t hugely busy either. Ah well.

Arrived 4.30 pm Asked what time they closed told 6pm ordered tea and toast but told me they stopped cooking at 4.30pm so cancelled and left ..

I have frequented this gem dozens of times after lockdown. All the staff are friendly and helpful in these testing times. The food is very good and always well presented. Very clean ,safe and a good old place for a yak!!..

Staff are great and the food better. Always in here for breakie. Comes out smoking hot and on hot plates so is still warm by the time you eat it.

Met some friends before going on a walk. Definitely a good place to rendezvous and have a coffee to fuel up. Service was friendly and efficient .

Good garden centre and nice restaurant although could be improved with having more freshly cooked food. At busy times food can take up to 30min to be brought to table. The real letdown here are the toilets, the smell is awful. They should really do something about eliminating the horrible smell.

Group visit for lunch on 14 August 2019. The cafe staff could not do enough for us. I had booked a table for ten people and it was clearly marked and had a white table cover to make it look special. The service was first class and Elaine the supervisor worked really hard to make this a happy dining experience and all the guests said they had really enjoyed their meals and really liked the atmosphere of the cafe area.

Lovely! Great to have something like this in Portslade! Nice garden centre, pet section, gifts etc. Good selection of other items in stock. Cafe is great too, though the range of cold drinks and allergy free food could be better.

We had been to the cafe before and always enjoyed it. The cafe is very clean and seems well staffed. The choices are not bad for a cafe that size but as I am currently on a diet the choice is rather limited. I ended up with a tuna sandwich which had a thick layer of butter and the bread was thick so not ideal. I wish they had some salad pot options. It was too hot a day for soup. My friend enjoyed her panini and the staff were friendly.

This is a frequently visited place ,as it is my local garden centre , great for coffee catch up with friends .

Had a morning coffee in the garden centre . All quitre satisfactory . Not much ambience in the place. Functional.

Ok so mum and are back again to.take advantage of some money off vouchers and we stopped for a bite to eat. Again mum had eggs royale and I had bacon sarnie. Different chef this time I think as the eggs were better poached and there was more salmon. They also seem to have changed their bacon to a much better brand full of flavour. Lemon drizzle.cake is also very good ...

Today my mother and I came for brunch/ breakfast.

We had a voucher for an afternoon tea. When we arrived the table was reserved and laid up for us. Millie asked for our sandwich selection and the most amazing afternoon tea arrived for us. It was freshly prepared and included smoked salmon and crfeam cheese on freshly cooked open baguettes, coronation chicken and delicious ham; scones, jam and clotted cream, a selection of cakes and Eton Mess. Staff were attentive, topped up our tea and it was incredible value for £19.95. We were given containers for the food we could not eat. We will definitely be recommending this gem of a place to others and I am sure we will visit again.

Stopped for a snack lunch with my wife. Coffee shop extremely busy. I ordered a bacon and cheese toastie and a pot of tea. Tea was fine but toastie was poor. Very dry and with little taste. That was after waiting a fair time. Disappointing.

Met a friend for coffee here and asked for bacon sarnies as we couldn’t see them on the menu. Of course, no problem they said. Seriously tasty food. Even though it was busy, they arrived quickly, were well cooked and well filled with nice bacon. This is a great place for something quick to eat and the food is always good.

I meet my friend here for a coffee, chat and the best toasted tea cakes. Friendly staff and great service.

Had breakfast here a few times and have never been disappointed. The produce is of good quality and is cooked very well. Not particularly cheap but good value for money. Much better than a good deal of other places we’ve had breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff as well.

My wife and I like this garden centre and very often have a drink, snack or lunch here. Good food at reasonable prices, friendly staff.

Quite nice cakes and hot chocolate friendly staff a bit of a strange ordering system and it does get busy but nice to put your feet up after looking at so many plants.

I visit Mayberry garden centre on a regular basis and enjoy a relaxing coffee with lunch. The menu caters for all. The have a good vegetarian selection, lunches, dinners and snacks as well as a variety of home baked cakes.

Went in for a snack lunch on our way to meet friends. Coffee shop is part of a garden centre. Ordered cheese on toast with tea. Excellent and so large neither of us could finish it. Two large slices of toast with cheese, Worcester sauce and fried eggs. Really very good.

Although this is part of a garden centre, the 'cafe' is brilliant. Excellent range of food, plenty of parking, plenty of tables inside and out.

Been here a few times for an easy lunch with the kids. Fair selection of food and all relatively quick - we were warned that because they were busy food was taking about 15 mins - which is what we'd expect anyway.

Aunque la comida y la bebida sabrosa y caliente llegó bastante rápido, el actual proceso de pedir y pagar por los artículos era una experiencia dolorosa - parecía llevar mucho tiempo para hacer esto. Esto está bien si no tienes que regresar a trabajar y jubilados. Debido a la falta de velocidad este me disuade a regresar.

My wife and I visited on Friday 26th May and we found great products which we brought ,but the best for me was that my wallet fell out of my pocket in the restaurant and I didn't notice till later that evening,had a worrying night , next morning I called in and it had be handed in( there are many more good people in this world ) than you so much for your honesty and kindness .

Stopped here for breakfast. Busy little place with a decent breakfast menu. Had the full english which was large , but a little bland. Good pot of tea. Service was fast and friendly. Garden centre was well worth a visit.

Esta fue la primera vez que estuve Mayberry. . Mi amigo me llevó porque necesitaba de helechos. . Me trajo un helechos, algunos condimentos precioso y un átomo taza para mi hijo. . . . No puedo esperar a volver.

Mi madre me llevó para comer aquí un par de semanas atrás, y opté por el desayuno y moka. No puedo decir que hubiera sido mi elección de lugar, y mis expectativas eran bajas; sin embargo, sería equivocado de haber pensado resultó de esa manera. El Moka era delicioso, y el desayuno era tan bueno como se podía haber esperado. Más sorprendente fue que no era de ácidos grasos, incluso las croquetas de patata. Huevos revueltos eran corking. Las razones para marcar que sólo a un 4 de un 5 es el ambiente es el de una escuela, y para la cena no es mi taza de té.

Me encanta visitar Mayberry's! Cada vez que siente la necesidad de una nueva planta para el jardín - nos dirigimos a Mayberry's! Siempre tienen una interesante variedad de plantas. . . Y pasteles. Hay a menudo una tentadora oferta del almuerzo y si están muy hambrientos puedes añadir todo tipo de cosas extra a su orden (mi marido se suma todo). El personal es muy amable y aunque generalmente son ocupados el café es grande y espacioso, y siempre hay algún sitio para sentarse - prensa.

I love taking my 82 year old mum here. The food is always tasty and it's easy to park. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I took my mum here for lunch last week and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The fish and chips she had she rated as excellent and my panini was yummy. This is an easy to drop into place when you have an elderly parent in tow, with plenty of free parking and tasty fresh cooked food. It might not have the ambience of a smaller restaurant, but it's a garden centre and ticks all the right boxes for quality, service and staff.

I am a very regular visitor to Mayberry as it's dog friendly (not the inside of the coffee shop) so whenever it is nice enough to sit outside I often go here and enjoy a coffee and cake. The staff are very friendly. I love sitting outside as the beautiful flowers create a lovely calm setting. At the weekend me and my boyfriend often visit for the early bird breakfast which is £4.95 before 10.30 so great value!Definitely recommend a visit here and I will continue to be a loyal customer for as long as they are there.

Stopped here today for Brunch. The restaurant was very clean. The staff were all very nice. And the food was tasty.

Mayberry garden centre...is a small friendly place to be..the actual garden centre is small but has a lot of gifts and nick nacks. ..the outside plant area is lovely and very well kept with pond equipment and large garden ornaments..they have a pet shop with rabbits,fish and lizards which is lovely for the children..then they have a cafe,which serves hot and cold food and drink...

Regularly visit Mayberry for a hot chocolate and lunch, especially in the school holidays when I am off work. The garden centre itself is lovely, but so is their cafe. The staff are always friendly and food is made to order. It is fairly reasonable and I always enjoy visiting.

An excellent restaurant. Food is fresh, tasty and well cooked. I had ham, egg and chips and left a clean plate. All food looked delicious. Restaurant was clean and tables cleared and cleaned quickly. The staff are friendly and efficient. This is a restaurant/cafe that is well supported and has many regular customers who were welcomed as friends by staff. I shall return again. There is plenty of parking although, when leaving, turning right can be difficult in busy times.

Wonderful cafe within the garden centre, delicious food, I must admit the Welsh rarebit is my personal favourite. Breakfast is good, very quick courteous service, wonderful selection of homemade cakes etc.It's far superior than an awful lot of cafes in the area.Lovely coffee also.

The cafe is attached to a very nice Garden Centre. It is spacious and always pleasantly full without being over crowded. I had a huge potato in its jacket and baked beans with a lovely salad for £4.65. A very large filter coffee for £1.89. My friends were also very satisfied with their snack meals. Very good value and food cheerfully served. Definitely a return visit on the cards.
