Maya Indian Cuisine in Maldon

Never ever order anything from maya again the staff tell lies,food came after 1 hour and 20 minutes after getting a text saying the food is on its way, the food was lukewarm and the chicken was very dry and chewy,no flavor in the maya rice and the Nan bread was burnt.

I ordered a small order on the the Deliveroo app and waited hour and a half , a hour in I rang through after asking where it was and was told it’s on its way ten min later still no show. I rang through again and was told they would do fresh and asked for a refund as if I hadn’t had it by now it would be cold. It then arrived 10 mins later, and even now it’s missing the simplest of items. How just how. Never be trusting this Indian again for delivery.

I’ve ordered some Indian king prawns, rice and chicken tikka. I’ve received rotten prawns, the smell was discussing, practically the prawns were like a paste, very smelly. I’ve driven to the restaurant with the food and the place was filthy, absolutely filthy, I never thought the food we ordered it’s cooked in such a place. Discussing, never again to order from this restaurant.

Ordered on their website as nobody answered the phone. All good, I ticked the pay by cash. I was advised on their website that my meal would take 45 minutes to arrive, still ok. An hour and a quarter later, I rang to enquire when I would get my meal. I was told they were waiting for the driver to return in order to collect my meal and deliver it. I was told that my meal was ready to go. ( that bit is important) I waited a further half hour, I phoned back again, and the same man told me the same excuse. At this point I passed the phone to my husband, who again was told exactly the same. The meal finally turned up 2 hours late, considering I was told the meal was ready waiting for delivery, it was obvious that the meal would not be at its best after such a long time, I sent the meal back. The delivery guy said it was very busy, if I had been told a realistic time, I would have been able to make an informed decision, on whether to order food, sadly I was not told the truth. The man on the phone had a couldn't care less attitude, certainly not the kind of service you'd expect. We tried this company, because of a recent leaflet drop. The leaflet promised 25% of your order. (If you do a leaflet drop, it's not rocket science that you'll get a spike in sales. And that you need to have the staff in place to cope with it !!!!!) We didn't eat the meal because of the wait, so I can't say if the food was ok. I did notice that the prices are high, but they have self titled themselves as luxury Indian food !!!??? This is a takeaway, not a restaurant. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COWBOY OUTFIT

Such bad service ! Said it would be at mine for 8 pm , an hour and a half later , still nothing , with 2 missed calls still no answer. To then find out they are not coming at all ! Starving and that’s all because of maya Indian do not recommend!!

Very tasty food, fast delivery. Nice to try and will be back soon. And finally, as menu told HOT, it was really hot. Possibly first time for me 😁

The food was amazing very friendly on the phone wasn't sure what to. Order this was my first takeaway from them will be ordering them deffinatley again and driver was professional great stuff thank you all involved

Very delicious indian food. Would definitely recommend. Its my honestly my go to in chelt. And the new menu has a variety oh excellent dishes.

Where do I start? We have ordered from Maya many many times however tonight was the last time. We ordered at 7.30pm through Deliveroo and at 8.20 we were told the food was out for delivery. After thirty minutes we called again and whilst very apologetic the driver was still out with our food. Food finally arrived at 9.05 and it was awful. I ordered a chicken tikka masala but got lamb instead and it was so chewy I couldn't eat it. My partner ordered a chicken Balti but it was so spicy he couldn't eat it. The dahal was so runny and poppadoms were stale. We ended up chucking it in the bin. Don't bother!

Ordered 4 different kinds of biriyani to enjoy different flavours. Supplied the same rice with non-veg bits different. No authentic taste of biriyani at all ! Just rice mixed with curry. King Prawn biriyani for name sake. Got very small prawn, that also only very few. Absolute frustration and rip-off. Do some basic justice to customers. How can you annoy customers like this?

Couldn't even eat this take away it was so bad, shashlik buna was what it was meant to be. First time I can remember actually putting one straight into the bin after a mouthful.

It wasn't a patch on the old quality of Pundits. I get spammed with their text messages regularly with no opt out link. I think that's a breach of GDPR and I don't remember agreeing to receive SMS messages from them in the first place. The food quality is poor and you get spammed with texts. Will avoid in future.

Ordered a takeaway, and very impressed. Arrived on time and one of the best paneer tikka massala I've had! Lovely samosas, rice, Naan and poppadoms. Will definitely order again!

Ordered told 45 mins - 90 mins later it arrived! Luke warm, under spiced, cheese keema nam was a plain nam - totally disappointed and will never use again - so many better Indian takeouts available in Cheltenham

Got a 25% discount voucher so thought as it was Friday night, we will try it. Ordered food and was told it would be 3 quarts of an hour. One hour and 15 minutes later I phoned up to enquire where our food was and was told it’s on its way. Arrived further 15 minutes later, lukewarm so phoned up complaining and was told that next time we could have a dish on the house if we order it again. Some hope. Then found that the Keema cheese naan was just an ordinary naan Phone up again to complain and was told that we would get a refund. Food was bland rice was lumpy, will never ever eat here again.

Took just short of 2 hours to arrive and was stone cold. Rice was dry and hard, onion bajees were solid lumps of flavorless tough grease, the whole meal was expensive, cold and a terrible disappointment. I won’t be using again

Delicious. I find Indian takeaways can be a little hit or miss but I’ve ordered 5 times now from Maya and each has been a delight. I usually go for a jalfrezi, but their specials menu is also excellent. Recommended

For the record their delivery food is very nice and we used them fairly often. But we have moved and despite me repeatedly unsubscribing to emails and STOPing texts I get bombarded with them every Friday it it is getting very annoying with no action...
