Tables always dirty and uncleared. needs a good shake up. Staff pleasant enough but the place needs to be kept cleaner and tidier

Our recent experience at this establishment consisted of the following. Mouldy bread rolls for the hot dogs.When person cooking was informed of my concerns about this, her answer was,this bloody weather!!! Very unprofessional,bad attitude,and no apology at all. Rolls were replaced,but same sausages used again,yes that's right,the ones out of mouldy rolls!! Tables were absolutely filthy,a complete disgrace,and had not been cleaned for a long time. Are customers expected to eat their food at these tables?, seems like it! This used to be a very well run place,but not any more.

By far the worst experience I’ve had ordering food anywhere in my life. No exaggeration. Approached the stall and, after waiting for the five members of staff to finish their chat, was asked what I’d like to order. Ordered a ham and cheese toastie and breakfast roll. We were told to take a seat and they would call us when our order was ready - but as there was no seating we stood and waited for our order. The person preparing the food finished a previous order - and then proceeded to pick her phone up and use it with both hands. We then stood and watched as she touched her face and hair multiple times whilst playing on her phone, then put her hand in her pocket - and then carried on preparing and bagging our food with her bare hands. By the time our order was ready I already felt repulsed at the thought of eating it after witnessing the amount of bacteria-ridden surfaces and objects the server had touched. No hand washing or any hygiene procedure was followed at all. When they called for us to collect our order, I asked who was in charge - and was horrified to find out it was the person who was preparing the food. I asked if there were any hygiene procedures in place and explained everything we had just witnessed. The server became very defensive and basically told me I was lying. I told her her I’d seen her handle my burger roll with bare hands immediately after handling her phone and touching her face - and she told me she hadn’t had her hand INSIDE my roll - and proceeded to demonstrate how I was wrong by picking up another bread roll with her bare hands and then putting it straight back in the bag with other rolls. No matter how calmly I tried to explain the bad hygiene practices I had witness, she would not listen. Then she said “fine, but you don’t have to be so rude about it!” - I explained that I had been very calm and polite and was merely trying to voice a valid complaint about the handling of food I had paid for and was planning to eat. Her response? “If this is you being nice, I feel sorry for anybody who talks to you!” At this stage I gave up trying to have a reasonable conversation and just asked for a refund - and turns out my card hadn’t even been authorised and they hadn’t checked. So I tried to pay for the two drinks we had and was told “not to worry about it”. Never in my life have I witnessed such appalling hygiene and food handling standards, nor have I ever experienced such rudeness, belligerence and disrespectful behaviour from anybody employed in the service industry. Had I received any kind of apology or even acknowledgment of my concerns, there would have been no need for this review. I would have just silently added the venue to the small list of places I won’t eat. Instead, I was insulted, belittled and received no acknowledgment of my (very valid) concerns. Avoid at all costs.

Coffee isn't great, one staff member was very loud and only interested in singing to annoy her colleagues whilst serving me, felt sorry for them to be honest,a couple sat eating decided to move tables commenting it was too much noise. Need to have a chat with staff about customer service, maybe Coffee training too.

We had a snack here mid morning while visiting Hereford and found the staff very friendly. This place has a wide menu from breakfast items through lunch and sweet treats too. It is in a great location in the centre of town and a good place to sit and people watch.

What a great place to have lunch and meet family and friends for coffee. Meals are cooked really well an the drinks are much better than costa. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this café.

Stopped here for a couple of milk shakes. They were a delight, I had a crunchie milkshake which was perfect. My wife had a fruit one. Can’t fault them, however the staff left a lot to be desired. There was 4 behind the counter talking and we think arguing. One said at the top of her voice “I’ll keep my mouth shut then” whilst we had to wait. The staff never made eye contact even when taking a card payment. Made us feel like a nuisance for interrupting them. Very disappointing for such a lovely position in town.
