Matestone Coffee & Tea House in Maidstone

With four adults and one child, we met up to do our embroidery. We had a lovely greeting, and George manoeuvred furniture around for two of us to bring our mobility scooters in. He really helped in every way to make us comfortable. We had between us tea, coffee and food (not sure what my friends ordered). Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Great coffee shop in the heart of Maidstone. We're always warmly welcomed by the staff and it has a really chilled atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for a decent coffee and to chill out.

Popped in to use the toilet, I'm 5 months pregnant so really needed the loo. There was no one around obvious to ask so I just rushed to the toilet. When I came out an employee (man with shaved head) squared right up to Me in my face and demanded a pound!! I laughed and said no and then he kept asking why I just didn't ask. I explained to him that I am 5 months pregnant and have a right to use any toilet that I need to. But he still insisted on questioning me and getting up in my face. Disgusting really as I was basically on my own or atleast he thought I was on my own at the time. Shame because looks like a nice cafe on the outside, anyways I will not be going here for any custom in the future unless he finds a new job I do not want to be in such a negative man's presence!

Friendly, laid back and polite. Also good value for the two ice coffees we had today. Much needed stop on a hot day, would 100% return.

Quality produce. I had eggs Benedict on flat mushrooms with roasted tomatoes. It was so tasty. Nice decor and atmosphere.

I've been coming here since it opened and I don't understand the negative reviews. Friendly owner who knows his customers and likes a chat. Lots of loyal customers. Great coffee. Definitely not burnt. Great food. What's not to like?

Waste of time Took a long time to get our order taken, even longer to be served. My coffee tasted burn, when I went up to the guy (In an attempt to atleast make them aware ) he started arguing with me that it wasn't. No sense of costumer service Rather unpleasant people. Definitely would never advice this place nor will we return

I attended numerous times and the coffee is horrible, the owner weirds me out, he think it’s an pick up bar for young girls. Never going back. This owner needs to concentrate on his shop and not the girls in the shop.

Maidstone needs more independent coffee shops and Matestone has great potential to be a go to place to meet friends for a coffee or light snack. We’ve been for breakfast on Sunday twice and often there are options not on the standard menu for brunch. The pancakes and breakfast wrap are very tasty and the chocolate brownies excellent! It’s a nice space and it would be nice to see more people there.

Coffee was great, as was the milkshake, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, couldn't have asked for better service!
