The coffee shop inside TJ Hughes has a sign up for 20% discount on Thursdays for pensioners. I used the cafe 3 Thursdays ago and as a pensioner I asked for my discount. The manager servng me said at first it didn't apply any more. When I asked him why he had the sign up he said cards were available to give to customers to apply the discoue and gave me a card but when I tried to use it he said it was only useable on future visits. There were 3 other peoole in his cafe at the time two of whom told me they were pensioners and had not been given one of his discount cards when at the till a short while before I just believe it's not a genuine offer and he should take his discount sign down!

Went in for advertised meal on posters in window. Prices reasonable. Husband had cheese scone with beef dish, only they’d skipped the cheese in the scone. Vegetables cold. they would make my beef baguette fresh so hubby got his meal first. After 10 mins or so waitress came over to say they had run out of beef for my baguette. So I decided the quiche, chips with salad, oh no lettuce I could have tomato and a piece of cucumber. Chips were fine, quiche was the worst excuse for a quiche I’d ever tasted. Coffee was fine. The place is dire, toilets unclean, escalators don’t work, had to walk down them. Pity those who have mobility difficulties. This place used to be buzzing, hardly any customers in. Will never go back. Avoid cafe at all costs. Worst meals we’ve had in a long time!

Excellent first class friendly and helpful smiling staff. Very tasty shop restaurant meals, cheap and plentiful. We have been several times and never been disappointed whether its afternoon cream tea or a big breakfast.

Really rude power hungry staff. £7.29 a pint. Asked politely to top up as it was a good way short, and the young girl was aggressive and rude. Use the other bar. Nasty young girl with a bad attitude.

Every time I go to a m and s cafe I vow never to return. Today we had the experience of being served 2 just warm lattes and a cold toasted tea cake.

Hot chocolates cold (nice but cold), coffee bitter and no milk offered. Server seemed offended and we gave up as she seemed sick of her life.

As this is in the airside terminal at Newcastle Airport. Service was quick, but unfortunately they still use disposable cups. I would much prefer non disposable, but I guess its a bit hypocritical t
