Ordered the food on uber eats, waited almost an hour, called the restaurant many times noone answered. In short, my food never arrived. Awful service.

Ordered a home delivery and never received it. Called after 90 minutes to case it up, they hung up on me. Then several attempts to call them was told it was on way. After 2 and half hours was told they couldn’t find our address and couldn’t call us cause their phone had died. This was second time using this establishment and the the first time took ages and had items missing. Thought we’d give them another chance but honestly wish we hadn’t bothered. They’re rude and still trying to get a refund

Food Food was very good, and astoundingly good for the price. Dhansak has almost no chilli in it (I like lots but forgot to specify), however the other "non-spicy" spices he used still came together deliciously. Service Food was ready faster than minimum ETA for pickup. I think that if others have had issues with this restaurant's timeliness, it has to do with the deliveroo service more generally. I ordered directly from their site and picked up myself. Fast. Hope this place does OK despite deliveroo-related rating problems. Atmosphere No dining-in option, but 5/5 as I love the two living room couches plopped down to allow people to wait as though they are in their living room (particularly me, as one matches my couch back home). The cook/operator was also all smiles despite it being a Saturday night at a takeaway, someone of whom I had the impression genuinely enjoys cooking nice curries for people. I'd easily come here again were I local.

Absolutely delicious meal outstanding

We really enjoyed our tkka biriyani, lamb buna, sag also, prawn dansak and keema naans. Full of delicious aromatic flavours and the naan was really soft and fluffy 👌

I was Craving an Indian takeaway all day, Massala did not disappoint. It arrived before the ETA and arrived piping hot. I even got a couple of freebies. I’ve ordered from here a couple of times and have been very pleased on every occasion.

We ordered our food at 5pm and it came to around 6:20pm and nothing. Rang the restaurant and he said it’ll be 5 more minutes. 30 minutes had gone by and still no food, rang them again and he said it’ll with you in 5 minutes to which my partner said ‘well you’ve lied to us because you said this 30 minutes ago’ and the man on the phone replied with ‘well what do you want me to do about that’ horrible customer service and very rude. Don’t recommend this restaurant at all. We’ve had to end up getting a refund from Deliveroo as we still have no food. Absolutely ridiculous

Won't be going again. Extremely oily and who puts brusselsprouts in a curry? Poppadom was good.

Couldn't fault the food or service from this place - great selection of veggie options, we had the Paneer Masala and the veggie Dhansak, both delicious and decently hot. Ordered on a Sunday evening just before 8pm, was told the food would be delivered in 45 minutes - only half an hour later it was delivered by probably the friendliest and chattiest driver I've ever met! Would very much recommend.

Worst Indian I’ve ever had. Under cooked food and everything is spicy when it shouldn’t be. Couldn’t eat the food so ordered something else. Avoid avoid avoid

Awful. Genuinely. Having travelled all over the Indian Subcontinent. 2 hours for the worst Indian food I have ever tasted. Frozen chicken pieces in a bought in sauce. Avoid.

The food was absolutely disgusting no taste at all will not be going back it was cold the friend chicken was as dry as anything the chips where vile

Delicious curry, very poor service. Delivery expected 7.15-7.35pm. We didn't receive our order until 8.20pm. I phoned the restaurant 7 times between 7.45pm and 8.20pm. Each time they told me the food would be delivered soon. When the food finally arrived, 45 minutes late, one of the main dishes was missing (!!!). I phoned them and by some bizarre miracle this item arrived within 10 minutes of phoning. We weren't offered any compensation and despite requesting a refund, they would not give me one. Absolutely dreadful experience. Would not return or recommend. What a shame as the food is of a good standard.

Over 1 hour and 30 minutes of waiting and still no sign of a delivery! Don't waste your time or money! Called and got told false arrival times and overall left a bad taste in my mouth. They over promise and under deliver. Disappointed, real shame.

Stopped by today and grabbed myself a pila rice and chicken balti. Been to a few Indian takeaways in the area and these are by far the best 👌

Absolutely disgusting! I have never had a meal so bad i couldnt eat any of it! Phoned to ask for a refund and was told to bring the food back. I had dished it onto my plate so had to put it back into the containers. Was told that i couldn't have a refund as they wouldn't be able to resell the food i brought back! Cannot believe that they would resell food! Gross! Will be reporting to food hygiene as must be due for a check!

Just picked up a Korma and pilau rice and chicken tikka with rice . Chicken was so tough don’t think an electric knife would cut it. So I took the food back to the shop for a refund . Was told no I couldn’t have one because I had mixed the rice with the chicken sauce and they COULN’T RE SELL iT. I said resell it so if I had taken this meal home took the lid of fiddled with the chicken sauce then taken it back they would have resold it. I could have spat in the sauce or added something, yet that would have been resold. So how was I suppose to try the food if I never put the food on a plate to try. So he was rude and said he wouldn’t give me a refund because the chicken was cooked nicely. It was tough as old boots. I will take this further because I a, in my rights to ask for my money back if I take the food back whether I tried it or not. So please don’t waste your money there. Go somewhere decent. They are a 5 star how the hell they are a 5 star I do not know.

2nd time we have ordered from here and both time's order has been sent short,and this time we waited an hour and a half for the delivery, another 20mins for them to send out the rest of the order! Had to heat it up to eat the whole meal!!

My partner and I ordered from this place (£30 worth) at 20:30, with it saying that delivery would be between 2100-2120 on Just Eat. The app then said that it had been delivered at 2105. We called the restaurant at 21:30, and they told us that it was on its way. 22:05 then came around and we called them up again, they then told us that it was on its way again. The food never arrived. As good as these reviews are, they're pretty useless if the food doesn't even arrive to try in the first place. I understand being short staffed but don't keep accepting orders that you cannot fulfil.

Never turned up, lied twice on the phone. I hate to be a Karen™ but wow... We ordered around 20:09 on JustEat. It was confirmed delivered at 21:04, which was a lie. We called the restaurant at 21:33 (which is when we noticed that it had been marked as delivered) and they said it was on its way, which we believed but also confirms they knowingly lied when they marked it as delivered. We called again at 22:07 because it hadn't turned up and we were worried it would be freezing cold by the time it got here, someone different answered the phone and said that it's on the way but they were short staffed. I'm very patient with that scenario as I've worked in a fast food chain short staffed but they had already lied and had accepted the order 2 hours previous to that. At 22:30 the restaurant closed and they never delivered our order! We had to order from somewhere else and ended up going to bed feeling sick from eating so late. I only live a 5 minute drive from the restaurant and there has been no contact from them since. I have screenshots to prove the times and the phone calls. JustEat have issued me a full refund, I won't be ordering from somewhere that takes people's money and blatantly lies to customers 🤷‍♀️

Went here for a takeaway last night with the girlfriend and the food was amazing, really nice with good portions as well. Staff were also nice. Recommended

Ordered takeaway from here 4 times now.... I must admit first order was tasty but the chicken in one curry did seem abit cheap BUT was good enough to look past that as a possible one off!!!! 3 times since the grub has been spot on.... Really enjoyed the dishes we had from here... Spicy or mild the flavours have been great and the chicken tender and decent... Live a bit out of town and each time delivery has been more than fair. Top stuff!

We ordering Indonesian food, but the taste not what I expected. Nasi Goreng too watery, and Satay(Sate=Indonesia) not with coconut sauce. Have to be with peanut sauce. So I just eat Kambing Terong which is the taste similar like Rendang.

Had the worse experience tonight food was over an hour late called twice the first time the person on the phone said it will be half an hour (lie) waited another 40mins called again apparently going to be 10 mins now Food turned up we didn't have everything that we ordered no fault to the delivery driver. We then throw the dinner out as wasn't hot just warm. We did call up again regarding the missing items which turned up 40mins after the food delivery which then I said don't bother as pointless now again not delivery drivers fault. We still had to pay full amount not once did we got offered for anything of the bill. I will not be using again feel very disappointed as we don't have takeaways very often it was a treat for my husband and an expensive bad treat at that.

Dont waste your money, the food is shockingly bad. Waited 2.5 hours for cold disgusting tasting food. You can blame the temperature on the driver but the taste is on you. 🤢

The food was absolutely delicious as always. I definitely recommend ordering on there site and not the takeaway apps because you get a 10% discount for spending either £10 or £12 and a further 10% discount if you collect it yourself. We had 2 King prawn dishes and you could taste how fresh they were and the guys in there are always happy and always answer any questions you have about the food and what spices are what 👍

Just used Massala takeaway for the first time and was very pleased. Food arrived on time and was piping hot. The chicken madras and chicken jalfrezi were great the best Indian food we have had in a long time, thoroughly recommended.

Ordered masala dosa and ghee masala dosa. Worst quality food. Please dont buy from this restaurant. Actually they are not indian restaurant dont even know how to prepare indian food. Ordered masala dosa online, waited for 1 n half hours and was told that their deliver guy messed up.. and finally, when they delivered, the food we got was not even closer to something to be called dosa... sambar was ridiculous.. we felt offended in every possibile way with this place.. if you want genuine Indian food, cut this place from the list..

How disappointing, always use & recommend to others but never again.... Late delivery..... over spiced tasteless tandoori chicken..... gritty naan.... tasteless curries..... an expensive never to be repeated meal !!

Excellent quality the best Indian takeaway in ipswich bar none

Never have I ever ordered a takeaway let alone a curry where I had to bin the whole thing! The chicken in the both curries was could and could barely get my teeth through it. All the sauce had split and grease was leaking all over the place. The apparent chicken tikka cooked in a clay oven most certainly wasn't it looked like it had been microwaved from the day before and was just covered in grease and a few spices to try cover that! I was only visiting ipswich for a couple of nights and wanted a nice Indian... How this place got its star rating and reviews iss beyond me ( prob friends and family promoting it) I urge anyone not to waste their money here! Would have given a 0 star if it was an option.

First time I’ve ever binned an entire meal, completely inedible. Arrived way before time but was stone cold and the chicken was either rock solid or like slop and had no way been cooked in a clay oven. All the sauces had split and the level of grease was another level. Only visiting Ipswich but please don’t waste your money on this place

Please do not place the order with the website direct. Their response with the delivery is so poor. The estimated delivery is mentioned as 50 minutes, but they take at least more than 1.5 hours for delivery. The restaurant's response to the queries are under rated and very poor. Do not prefer this restaurant and do not recommend.

Best Indian in Ipswich by a country mile

The Chicken bhuna I bought was good,rice was nice but the tandoori chicken starter I bought was nothing like it should be it was more like brown coloured wings.the Onion bhajee was average too.so bit disappointed hence 3 stars.

Went for the first time and was not disappointed, great food and service. Food was well cooked and nicely presented. Definitely will be using this place again, recommended

Birthday take out! Food was fantasic!! Vast menu, everything you could want from Indian cuisine & at very reasonable prices. Food was all piping hot, fresh ingredients, lots of flavour & genorous portions (plenty of 'left-overs' to enjoy again tomorrow)! Bland and tasteless, don't bother.

We really wanted to like this but so much was wrong. We ordered a keema naan and a garlic naan..we got a plain naan and a peshwari naan..I ordered a medium curry with onions and fresh corrianda and got a chicken korma! Rice was avarage. We didnt send it back as it would of taken too long to get another order!! Very dissapointed and wont order from here again.

I visited Massalla for the first time a couple of weeks ago with reserved expectations. I love Indian food but normally find takeaways disappointing. This little, understated takeaway is amazing! The food is all thoroughly well marinated and seasoned so the depth of flavour is amazing. I think the quality of the food is just as good if not better than any of the eat in Indian restaurants in Ipswich. My Jalfrezi was the perfect level of spice, the onion baji's were nice and crisp and the nann was cooked well. Service was good and friendly. Really can't fault this place, writing this review is making me hungry and wanting to return!!

We’ve ordered from here countless times and thought the food was excellent. However, last week the keema naan tasted 'perfumey' and was inedible. Due to the food always being good in the past, we gave them a second chance, but tonight EVERYTHING tasted like perfume, or, as my partner put it, like someone had sprayed it with deodorant. We rang them and politely explained we weren’t happy, and asked if they’d changed their ingredients. They were polite but nonchalant, merely saying that next time we’d get a better one. Sadly, there won’t be a next time.

Good tasty food and great price will definitely be going there again!

Fast delivery and food taste good

Whenever I get takeaway Indian food we generally use this place. The set meals are good value and we are never left hungry. The food itself is tasty, the chicken tikka is sometimes a little too sweet. But generally really happy with this place.

Tuvimos tres curry, arroz, pan y algunos lados entregado. El curry estaba bien condimentadas con un toque encantador. Piezas de pollo estaban muy bien cocinados y sabor divino. El naan estaba un poco pasada y la temperatura de la comida podría haber sido más caliente. En general, la comida era muy agradable.

Food ok, not the best, lacks flavour at times. Quick service and good value. Better than plenty of others in Ipswich!

First time we have tried this takeaway and we were really impressed. The king prawn madras was really good and having a quorn option on most dishes was a welcome change. Delivery was quick and we will definitely use them again.

Having tried numerous Indian takeaways I have to say this is the best by far. The prices are good and the food is spot on also you can order online via their website.

masala is better than most other takeaways in west Ipswich, a good tasting vindaloo, very good quality naan and bhajis. I would definitely order from here again. the staff are really polite too, delivery was quick and all items were accounted for!

This is probably the Indian take-away I use the most when I'm after a delivery. If you do go down the place it looks like there's an open kitchen and I know for a fact that they have a 5/5 food hygiene rating. And this is definitely reflected in the food as I've never had any tummy grumbles which I can't say is the case with some of the other Indian take-aways in town!As the title states, the food is mostly very good. Starters and sides are always top notch but I have had the occasional main which hasn't been quite up to scratch - a little too salty, for instance - but, I've never had a bad dish. Guess it depends on which chef is on?So overall, a very good Indian take-away. Delivery is always quick and with the perennial discount vouchers, the value is hard to beat. Give it a go.

I have had takeaway from here a few times food is very nice try mixed tandoori with chicken meat etc...Curries are nice. Remember to go over £10 pounds for 20% off on collection.

Ordered via the just eat website on a Wednesday evening, we ordered lamb tikka massala, lamb rogan josh,mushroom rice, mixed starter and popodums, upon opening the lamb rogan josh it was in fact chicken which was a big let down as I would never order chicken for this dish, the rogan josh was bland and lacked spice, the tikka massala was nice although both were lacking in their meat content , under 5 pieces in each, popodums and starter were the best part of the meal, wouldn't order from here again as the local always the the order correct
