Masala Twist in North Norfolk

Four of us went for a curry the food was very nice and tasty we had poppadoms and pickles which were warm and crispy and the pickles were excellent.the main courses were all very tasty and well cooked the naans were fluffy and nice all together it was very very nice and the waiters were excellent.

Fantastic food and great service, very friendly staff, we went there for my father’s birthday, and Raj made my dad feel very special, we would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Thank you so much Raj and all the staff.

Six of us ate here. The Indian cuisine was pretty good, however, of the two chicken omelettes only one seemed to contain chicken. We asked for a jug of water but were constantly encouraged to order drinks. The service was below par what with feeling rushed, trying to clear the table before we had finished eating ( a real pet hate of mine) and constantly on at us to order drinks or extras. ( the restaurant was nearly empty) We declined desserts and coffee for this reason and after we had paid and left a healthy tip we were harangued over our request for water. We left feeling embarrassed and miffed. We will not be returning as there are better quality restaurants in Cromer to enjoy a leisurely meal in.

Wont be having a take away from here again. Tasteless, watered down excuse for an Indian. Could have drunk my vegetable curry from a cup even though the only vegetables was potato! 5 pieces of chicken in biriani and the wife’s curry slopped off the plate down the sink Big mistake using short cuts like this

Was staying in Cromer and decided to have an Indian meal. Came across Masala Twist with good reviews. Booked the meal with partner and staff were really good on the phone. Not a bad looking place with decent decor, nice welcome and shown to our seats. Had papadums to start with, and then mains. King Prawn Bhuna Vindaloo hot with garlic naan and onion bhaji which was hot but delicious, not greasy or wet which we seem to have had a lot of recently around Essex. Partner had Chicken Tika Massala and she said that’s the best she’s had in a while. Staff were very friendly and attended our needs very well. Would definitely recommend this place for a meal.

Wow 👌 great location, wonderful restaurant, very polite and prompt service. The food was delicious and very generous portions. Excellent quality and excellent value for money.

Pfft.... the venue is kinda grubby and tired and needs a refit; the chairs are awful; the toilets half-finished. The food is the same... pretty mediocre. Very average. Service was friendly enough. Resent being charged for pickles, when I didn't order them. espcially, when they are rubbish. All in all: if you're looking for tired mediocre Indian food, in a tired, old-looking, restaurant, and enjoy a very run-of-the-mill average curry - which cost about £80 (2 drinks, starters, mains, bread, and a side), you'll love it here. Sad thing is: there's no love or real effort here. They have a captive audience of tourists who can manage fish and chips only once. I can cook a better curry. We won't be back

Went to masala twist while visiting Cromer with friends , was welcomed by a lovely member of staff who quickly seated us and promptly took our drinks order , the food was great no complaints, very good experience would come again.

A really wonderful evening, we were greeted with a smile and seated even though we hadn’t booked. All of our food was really delicious and we didn’t have to wait long even though it was busy. We weren’t booked in to Marsala Twist based on the latest reviews we chose another Tandoori place in Cromer, when we arrived at the original booking we were shown to a table that had the full debris from previous diners and were ignored for 20 mins to sit with said debris. We left. We went to Marsala Twist after initial experience elsewhere and wish we had gone there to start with. We were greeted on arrival with a smile, quickly shown to a table, offered drinks and swiftly presented with other menus and options. Nice rose (unusual in an Indian) food was really really tasty. We would highly recommend Marsala Twist on level of service, they were also very busy but they were attentive, plus the food always really good!

Just had a takeaway from here. Staff shouting at each other when we went to collect they were clearly too busy. Photo is of chicken shashlik we ordered. Three pieces of chicken in it, not sure what the water is in this but we won’t be eating it. Truly one of the worst takeaway experiences I’ve ever had.

It was our fourth visit to this restaurant; 2 visits last year and two this year. Last year the food was excellent and our favourite place to go. This year, not so good. The meat is dry and chewy, as if it’s been reheated and not freshly cooked. Poppadoms and naan both lovely, it’s just the meat which was disappointing. We are unlikely to make a return visit, which is such a shame.

From the outside, the restaurant looked busy and inviting. We soon realised why. The in-use tables had been clustered around the window and were all very close to each other. I could touch the family on the table next to us - even though there were many empty tables not in use. This made private conversation impossible. Couldn't complain about the food but nothing to rave about either. All in all a very average experience.

Ordered take away, what arrived bone cold, dry and tasteless. Amount of food was ridiculous for what we paid. Rather could have Morrison tin soup. Never again. Waste of money

Had a lovely meal with family the food was delicious and had massive portions. Very lovely staff especially Raj who made all feel very comfortable and happy with our service. Would go again!

Good choice on the menu. Excellent starter, curry, rice naan and Cobra. Friendly service. Will return when back in Cromer.

We came on Valentine’s Day, wanting an alternative Valentine meal and the restaurant was buzzing with couples. The meal starts with friendly warm service and delicious condiments with the poppadoms. The dishes we chose were well flavoured, in particular the Masala Twist special. My partner always likes a well done nan and this was one of the best he’s had. We are looking forward to returning.

A warm welcome. Delicious food. Reasonable prices. We’d been wandering the streets, looking for somewhere to eat. Everywhere seemed booked up. What a relief to be welcomed in and fed lovely food and treated in such a friendly and welcoming way.

The restaurant was fairly quiet for 19:30 on a Saturday, but the staff all appeared rushed off their feet. This should have served as an early warning, but we sat down and ordered drinks. We did think it slightly strange that no one else in the restaurant had any food on their table, perhaps we all arrived at similar times ? After ordering we noticed that a couple of other families were leaving without eating. But again we put this down to perhaps a one off difficult customer. How wrong can you be ! After waiting for an hour no food had appeared anywhere in the restaurant. Then by some miracle the food arrived for a family sitting near us who were there when we arrived. I asked the waitress how much longer our food would be and was told “you’re next” After one and a quarter hours from placing our order it finally arrived, by which time we had all lost our appetite. Which was a good thing as it turned out. Cold rice, Luke warm generic curry, no veg curry with a biriani and a forgotten prawn cocktail which arrived even later looking very sad. If a restaurant is busy with takeaway trade isn’t it good practice to inform customers what is going on and if you are prioritising take away delivery then let those in the restaurant know that a long wait is expected. At the very least apologise after a reasonable period and offer some complimentary drinks or popadoms. I get that in a town with large numbers of passing tourists that you prioritise your local takeaway customers. Avoid unless you like wasting your well earned money on awful service and rubbish food. No stars if it was an option.

After a few hiccups with our previous meal purely just because of it being their opening weekend and being overwhelmingly busy, we were offered a free meal to make up for it. Kelly the owner is absolutely lovely, she couldn’t have been nicer. We had our dinner delivered on a busy bank holiday Sunday, but kelly made it happen. It arrived bang on time, hot and I can honestly say it was the nicest Indian meal I’ve ever had. Thankyou so much Kelly! Will 10000% be popping in for a sit down meal when we get the chance, and will for sure be getting another takeaway. Couldn’t fault a thing! Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!

Four of us went last night to celebrate a birthday. First thing we noticed was the striking new black and gold colour scheme which works really well. Same / similar menu to before but all four of us ordered something different, plus sides, naan, etc and all had a try. Polite and attentive service from the moment we walked in, and the food was exquisite. Superbly well cooked, neither oily nor greasy (the items we chose) and delicious. I tried an unusual chicken curry dish cooked with spices, ginger and diced pumpkin. Sounds bizarre but was excellent. As was the whole package. It won't be long before we go back again.

Masala twist... the twist is you wait TWO HOURS FOR YOUR FOOD!! Prawn cocktail had been forgotten about and came with a hair on itMushroom rice cold, came back obviously microwaved, worried about food poisoning so couldn’t eat. Chicken biryani came without the vegetable curry. Food overall tasted bland like a Tesco ready meal, all plates were dirty. AVOID this place if you want warm, hairless food

After not being able to get into any restaurants for our evening meal we decided to get a take away from here and go back to our holiday accommodation.Service was quick, staff friendly and food really good, full of flavour and good sized portions (unlike some there was plenty of meat).Best to take cash. We will definitely make time to eat in on our next visit to the area

I booked a table for 2 here for 7.30pm on Monday 17th May and I made the booking about 10 days prior to our visit. I asked them if their restaurant would be open then and was assured that it would be. I also left my contact details and number. We got a taxi to the restaurant and arrived at 7.22,only to find the restaurant closed and in darkness. The taxi driver tried ringing the restaurant but got no response. If they decided not to open, they could have rang to let me know, then I could have made alternative arrangements, rather than let me go to the trouble and expense of fulfilling my side of the arrangement, to no avail. If that is how they treat their customers, they don't deserve the business.

Undoubtedly the best Indian food we have ever eaten. . We have been regular customers for many years and have always been impressed. Can highly recommend the rogan josh, dhansak, aloo gobi, sag ponir in particular. Service with a smile. Coronavirus safe pickup for takeaways. A must visit for residents and tourists alike.

Outstanding! We have been lucky enough to try Indian food all over the UK and further afield this restaurants food is No.1 Living in Cromer we would collect a takeaway from the City but no longer, right here is traditional Indian/Asian food cooked with fresh ingredients that are blended and served to perfection. Was on the Norfolk coast for a short holiday and this restaurant was one of the many offering a takeaway as a well as sit down experience in Cromer.Ordered for some biryani, tarka daal, kofta curry and naan which was ready within 20 minutes. Food was substantial in quantity and okay in taste. Nothing mind blowing about the taste or authenticity of the cuisine.

Wow, what more can we say. Great food, great hospitality, great atmosphere. The food was delicious, the host very attentive without being annoying. Would recommend anyone staying in Comer to try it.

Went here for a meal last week; chose this restaurant after looking at reviews for Cromer. Booked and when we arrived we gave our name and phone number (for tracing). Waited ages for a drink and a look at the menu. Having eventually ordered the food arrived relatively quickly and was absolutely delicious. Price was reasonable.

Excellent meal last night. We were a bit concerned when restaurant was nearly empty but we both really enjoyed our meal. Service was great and very reasonably priced

We went for a meal on friday night, just me and my husband. Was not impressed with the service. Was like we were not even noticed when we arrived. It wasnt busy, the young lady behind the counter seemed very inconvenienced that she had to do something!! We eventually got our order taken and to be fair the food was ok, nothing special just ok! What shocked me was they didbt seem to realise about sanitising anything. When a couple left they just scrapped off the split food from the table cloth and swept it on the floor!! The covered the mark with a napkin!! They didnt sanatise the seats or table or change the table cloth before the next couple sat down!! Shocking!! The waiter brought our drinks over holding the top of our glasses!! We didbt see him sanatise his hands once, we did clean the glass before we dared to drink from it. The atmosphere was like a morgue. Very boring decor. Overall a disappointing evening. I would not go back for many reason but especially the hygiene and sanitizing during the covid period. Many other nicer places to go.

Food was great. Will return. Both of us very happy with our meals, staff were happy to box up what we could not eat.

Was on holiday in Cromer and had our first meal here. The food was delicious! All freshly made, the naan bread was soft and a fantastic texture. All 3 meals ordered were nicely spiced and well presented. Not too oily as seems to be the case with most Indian food in the UK. Could not fault the food at all.The Mango Lassi was also delicious and smooth.Staff were friendly and welcoming.Only criticism is that the decor is a little tired.A shame this restaurant is not near my house!!!

I understand that Covid-19 has made us all adapt to the new normal but it is no excuse for poor service and food that could only be identified as Asian by the names on the menu. I cannot believe that an asian chef prepared the most bland food i have tasted at an Indian restaurant. We waited 1 hour for our food and no apology which tells me this is the norm. Tables left uncleared for 30 minutes with diners sitting waiting with a table full of crockery. With only 2 front of house and around 30 diners and one of the staff mopping around it was left to the owner to do almost everything. I have never seen a cook coming out and serving customers no wonder the food took so long to arrive.

I was really excited to have dinner here and was expecting a lot from it’s good reviews online. Sadly It did not live up to my expectations for numerous reasons. The evening started well after receiving drinks and papadams quickly. Sadly it went downhill fairly quickly after watching numerous tables walk out for waiting times. An hour into waiting for our food, a table behind us said to us they had waited 40 minutes before even getting their orders in. Soon after they asked a waitress if someone could take their order in which the lady replied “I’ll do it in a minute” and walked off. After going to the bar and asking why the food was taking so long the owner replied by saying it was due to the restaurant being “busy” which was weird because around 4-5 tables with customers. The table soon became impatient and asked for the bill immediately and walked out to the bar where they clashed with the owner. They soon began shouting at each other with the waitress joining in. The waitress began using threatening and abusive language towards the customers who quickly left. The heated argument resulted a really bad atmosphere despite being fairly funny. This is all lead to us wondering wether we should leave now or wait longer for our food. The food eventually arrived around 1hr 15 later which was long for a restaurant with around 4 tables of customers. It was such a shame the evening had already been ruined due to these factors because the food itself was very tasty. I sadly would not recommend coming hear due to atmosphere/ service.

We didn’t have a booking but thought we’d chance it as the restaurant was completely empty. As we walked in the manager was leaning on the bar eating whilst on the phone. He didn’t acknowledge us so another member of staff with EarPods in took over. We were offered a table at the back of the restaurant away from the light of the windows. When I asked if we could move I was told no without any eye contact. At this point I deceived that I didn’t want to spend my money in this restaurant. The manager almost chased me and my three children out of the door, aggressively shouting that we should have booked! No surprise that the restaurant was empty after that experience.

Three of us dined, we all had tasty meals well served by the owner. My karai gost was good and chapattis were good too; and reasonable prices. Only minor irritation was that they don't take cards so cleared us out of cash.

We had takeaway for seven costing £64, so fairly cheap. All the food was hot and well packaged. We phoned ahead, they took 45 mins to prepare. Staff friendly and helpful, very efficient and professional 17 year old on the till. The korma and chicken tikka curry had different colour sauces but tasted the same. The tandoori main with naan was ok, nothing special and fairly minimal amount. The biryani was ok, not very tasty, small portion of vegetable sauce with large bits of veg. Naans were fairly small.

Booked a table at 6.30pm for a group of friends on a Saturday. The welcome to the restaurant was unappealing, the waitress was uninterested and not welcoming in the slightest (also observed her all evening with earphones in one ear whilst serving, which is appalling customer service.)We waited around 1hr before our drinks and food order was taken, at this point we then complained to our server about the slow service, who responded in an extremely condescending manner and didn't even apologise or seem remorseful for the poor service (until our table practically forced an apology out of him). As already stated, food was average but truly not worth the wait or the hassle.My friend (lady) went to the bar to discuss the discount we had been promised with the waitress as it wasn't substantial for the poor sevice, her male friend also went along,the waiter continued to interrupt and speak over her and would only address the gentleman in our party. We ended up leaving at 9:45pm, over 3 hours later...

Good food and good value. Service was prompt and friendly. Don’t be put off by the grotty carpet and tired decor.

A group of us booked for 8 pm on a Thursday night in August. The restaurant was almost empty. We sat down, ordered beers and looked at the menu. Beers arrived promptly and we ordered starters and main courses. Then we waited and waited. People dropped in and left with bags stuffed with takeaway food. By 9.30 we were starving and asked for the umpteenth time for our food. By 9.45 some starters were delivered - cold! By 10.00 nothing further delivered. We left. The Twist? You can book a table, you can order but you will not be served.

My partner and I aren’t local and we’re visiting Cromer for the weekend. We chanced a visit to the MT and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was great as well. There wasn’t anyone in the restaurant when we arrived so we were a bit worried but we highly recommend it.

Walked by this place, checked out the menu and loved the vegetarian choices. Had a takeaway and not disappointed, so tasty and each dish had a different flavour, fresh and delicious

Went for a meal at this restaurant and as soon as we walked in we were faced with a carpet into the main restaurant which was literally black with dirt and sticky underfoot. It was disgusting. The chairs at the tables were high back faux leather which were discoloured and dirty. How this place gets a hygiene certificate I’ll never know. Ate our meal which was ok but couldn’t wait to get out. Will not be returning. Sorry. Advice to the manager, change that carpet it’s filthy and so are your furnishings.

We had a meal here on Friday 2nd August, and it was excellent and the service also was very friendly, would totally recommended a visit.

The food was nice,but nothing special. Food hot and tasty. Massively let down by tables being left dirty, slow (but pleasant) service and very dated and 'tired' surroundings. Carpets filthy and decor in need of cleaning or preferably redecorating. Had the impression that the restaurant relied on passing trade rather than repeat business. Would not use this restaurant in my home town.

We got a take away last night and it was fantastic. We had a fish dish called fish shurma that was especially good. Everything was really fresh and not swimming in gee like a lot of Indian restaurant tend to do. We over ordered as usual because we where really hungry and thought we would never eat it all but for the first time ever we ate every bit. It was so tasty.

Chef put a lot of “Love” in his food ,We are very fussy Indian cuisine lovers ! New to the area new to Masala Twist ,enjoyed a great take out! Prawn vindaloo,mushroom biriani,sag paneer,etc etc great food well done chef ! Will be back !

Met friends in Cromer & decided to go for a curry, had seen the Masala Twist before & would have tried it but the cash only had prevented us for using it. Well this Saturday we were prepared & what a treat it was. Service was a bit on the slow side as there was only 1 waiter which didn't deter him from giving us some culinary advice but the food was well worth the wait. Empty plates & stuffed people, a previous customers review had praised the lamb, they were definitely right too, tender, flavoursome, beautiful. Will be back & soon

The food was delicious, and the nan bread was so light and fluffy. The owners are friendly and accommodating. A real pleasure to eat there, would highly recommend.

We were staying in a holiday cottage in Cromer, and after a long wet day decided we fancied a takeaway rather than a meal out.We live in Birmingham and are used to a lot of choice of good curry restaurants, but the meal from Masala Twist was better than most we’ve had. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered and collected takeaway. The worst curry ever Luke warm, rice cold, naan bread cold and tasteless. Sag paneer was awful so sweet and loads of oil. All went in bin. Will never use again".....

We have had meals in and takeaways several times and it’s always been lovely. The couple who run it are so lovely and go out there way to please so I would recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food.

Ordered a take away, no delivery, walked to collect it. Upon opening dishes, food was cold, chips, rice etc only thing hot was the naans. We called to inform/complain re food being cold and they were not receptive to our feedback, will not use again.

Offers standard Indian/Bangladeshi style food in convivial surroundings.Located at the junction of a busy road there is no view of anything other than traffic, but you are there for food somit doesn’t matter.Attentive staff, decent food at a decent price.What more is there to need.

Rally pleased with this place, great family business. The guys will happily go off menu to cook things you might like. The prices are decent, you can feast for a a fraction of the price of other local venues. The interior is a bit dated, but that shouldn't put you off.

No dogs allowed so it had to be a takeaway this time. The food was ready when they said it would be and all our curries were really tasty.

Ignore all the previous bad/poor comments. This is an excellent Indian restaurant with attentive staff and first class service. It was a completely enjoyable evening and no delays experienced. Would strongly recommend.

Whenever we are in Cromer on holiday we visit here and have always had a good experience. Found the staff to be friendly and the food always delicious.Having read the recent negative reviews on here I wasn’t holding out much hope, however we had the same good experience we have always had. Perhaps as it was a Wednesday and the schools had gone back? So wasn’t particularly busy. (Was another two tables occupied).We were there around an hour and a half and had 2 drinks, popadoms, onion bhaji starter, main with rice & naan. So no problems with slow service. The previous review about “all bought in and warmed up” the waiter who I believe to be the owner was able to offer to adapt 2 of the main meals for the table next to us. Could hear the chef in the kitchen so the comment about the waiter also being the chef isn’t correct.Reason for 4* not 5 is the same as last time, the decor could do with an update.Will be back next time we are here.

We recently visited masala twist on Cromer carnival week, was actually firework night. On arrival at approximately 7:30 we asked for prompt service so we could see the fireworks at 9:15. We ordered our food and had a few drinks. Our food arrived promptly and was amazing! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cromer.

We had booked for 8pm but when we arrived there seemed to be some confusion about our table, the restaurant had lots of empty tables but we were seated in a corner by the toilets & open fire door - when we asked to move to a window table we were told they were all booked - howeverwhen we left over 2 hours later they were still empty!The poppadoms were not the freshest - the main came well over an hour later - no drinks were offered other than the ones we ordered on arrival. The food itself was hot & tasty. No deserts were offered. Bill was reasonable but I’d rather pay a bit more & receive better service. They’re missing a trick by not keeping the drinks flowing.

Very good food ( lamb balti and lamb dhansak) here and nobody assuming we want poppodums (we didn't!) Decor is tired and yes, as others have said, the service is a little slow, but this isn't fast food.

Visited with our 2 young daughters on the last night of our holiday. Arrived at 7.50pm served main meals at 9:40pm.Service was very very slow and the most annoying part was no explanation or apology for the delay. Food was great but I can't give more than 2 stars because of the service.

OK so service may be a little slow, did actual wait an hour, but only because the food is made and not just heated up. The extra size is the first I've come across - great idea, should've possibly matched it with increase in the amount of rice too. Quality and price, just excellent and that's why we eat out :)

The owner and his wife are lovely and try hard with the service. But the food is average, probably all bought in and re-heated. The menu far too large, so nothing is properly created in the kitchen. But hey, if you want average 'Indian' food, this is no better or worse than you get in thousands of similar places throughout the country. Cromer has one very good Indian restaurant where much care is taken over the food. This isn't it.

Visited here for the first time and had a very good meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive but the decor let the restaurant down. We were given a table at the back of the restaurant where I spent my meal looking at the entrance to the toilets and a rather bad painting! This wasn't necessary as only half the restaurant was open. Won't stop us going back but will insist on a better table. Also, they only take cash which isn't a problem as long as you are aware in advance.

We came here in April 2017 so came again this year for more. The food is very tasty and well cooked. The family who operate the restaurant seemed short staffed and service was slow. But they are friendly and the food is worth the wait.

I am a keen Indian food lover and have had several excellent Indian curries in my time however masala twist’s food was only average. My curry was lacking in taste and left me feeling unsatisfied.

Very slow service. When food came 1 meal was missing and arrived after everyone else had finished. Argued over bill discount. Restaurant was very cold. Would not go again and would not recommend

Been meaning to visit since last Summer when they were let down by the Police. Really wanted to enjoy our meal, but it's shabby inside, the carpet between the two rooms was filthy and there was no proper heating so we were cold throughout. We hoped that the food would rescue our evening, unfortunately it was tasteless and without any heat. The owners were very pleasant but I'm afraid it's back to The Cromer Tandoori for us

Lovely to find a restaurant open at 5 pm !! Our experience was of delicious food with some new ideas , especially the vegetarian dishes, so was really nice to try something new. The service was excellent. we wanted to have our meal leisurely with a pause between courses which thankfully we got ! Was lovely to chat with the owners and hear about the work they are putting into this business and we wish them every success. Highly recommend.

If you are looking for style over substance do not go here the decor is not modern but plenty of space and the service was exemplary. We dined early on a saturday night and were warmly greeted. The choice of dishes has the usual range plus some unusual dishes (wrath of khan) which is apparently very hot. In addition there are a number of vegetarian dishes more of which later.I like hotter dishes and my concern is 'how hot is hot"? The range appears to go from just about a taste of spice to volcanic eyes bleeding and tongue on fire and no taste just unadulterated heat. In terms of heat i would say from dining with others I can take a fair amount of heat but I do not enjoy the volcanic heat that others might desire.My wife enjoys a curry and will always tend towards a vegetarian dish, on this occasion the butter bean dish was described as being "one of the best dishes she had eaten in a long time". It had a smokey flavour and very tasty and a good sized portion.My chicken dish was described as medium hot, for me i would have liked it a little hotter but that did not detract from being a good portion and very tasty and as mentioned before now I have heat guide I will move up the scale.the service was very friendly and it was a very relaxing meal.Overall an excellent meal and we will be backIts worth pointing out that they don't take cards and in spite of other comments made we were presented with a printed bill.

We had dinner there a couple of nights ago. The owner was super friendly. The food was absolutely amazing, highly recommended. Will go back when next in the area.

What a gem! Delicious food and really friendly, helpful staff in nice airy restaurant. Only down side was that the restaurant was a little cool when we arrived, however heating was turned up on request.

On holiday in cromer and decided to give this Indian a go. The mains were all very good and decent portions. However the starters were disappointing. The king prawn purée didn’t have much flavour and tiny prawns. We did wonder if they had mixed up and given us the normal prawn purée. (Takeaway so couldn’t send back). The onion bhajee was also lacking in taste. If we used again we would just stick to mains

OK good bits Arrived @ 7.30 for a quick Friday night curry. Guy greets us is pleasant enough, sits us @ a table Clean but no atmosphere....No smell of Curry funnily enough. Toilets very clean table cutlery same. END THE GOOD BITS Now after 10 mins drinks order taken that came back wrong hello 2 of us ? 20 mins we get cold greasy poppadoms & pickle from a jar plus nuclear GREEN STUFF .....Order main's 1 hr later mains arrive, mine was physically cold pointed this out guy took it away & microwaved it then brought it back ? By now I was accepting having been asked 4 times if we had ordered by the same lady it was not a place we will return to? The only reason I wont say TERRIBLE is staff were not rude as such & the Supermarket English style curry full of food colouring BUT Lacking in taste was edible...... JUST......... & it was fairly cheap !We will definitely NEVER go back I am not going to say DON'T GO that would not be fair, perhaps others might find it OK. All we say is if you are curry eaters don't expect anymore than I have told you on here 2 hours in total in a non busy restaurant to eat 1 course meal is also crazy plus it took us 10 mins to try pay the bill also NO CARD Facilities crazy...... Potential is there Maybe ! BUT HELL it needs a lot of tweaking sadly.

This restaurant has a consistently high standard of Indian food. We are regulars here as we have been coming for over a decade. It never disappoints always delicious.

We take it in turns using both indians in Cromer and the menu is more variety here and the restaurant is more up to date service sometimes though can be hit n miss but apart from that i have never had a bad meal here

I was visiting Cromer for a weekend vacation with my little niece who is 20 months old, my sister, bro in law and my parents both of whom are senior citizens above 70 years old. We arrived at the beach a little later on a Sunday evening and since most of the local restaurants had closed around 8 pm, we walked to Masala Twist. My mother has severe arthritis and uses a walking stick. We came and sat at the waiting area. The restaurant was empty as it was a Sunday night and there were only 2 patrons in the other room. The host was hostile towards us in his mannerism and behaviour from the very first instant when he enquired for a table for 5 adults and 1 infant ? The host discussed something with the other guys around and had the audacity to lie to us on face with the most blatant stupid reason ever! His excuse was " we are completely reserved for the next half and hour so please come after that"!! Reserved ?? Like literally every table was empty. That was the excuse he choose to show us the door in-spite of seeing that there was a little child with us and a lady with walking sticks !! We clearly felt un welcomed and left the restaurant without creating a scene or even being defensive for that matter! I grew up in India, have lived in the States and Toronto Canada for ages now! Have travelled extensively across Europe and North America. I have been happily savoured the flavours our diverse culture has to offer all over the world. One thing I can tell when I walk into such restaurants is if it's an Indian restaurant or not! This one isn't ! It seriously baffles me, if Sri Lanka can proudly brand their restaurants as Sri Lankan food in spite of the flavours being similar to southern Indian cuisine why do our neighbours from the East and West have to hide and borrow our brand name and sell themselves as Indian Restaurants!! Proudly showcase your distinct flavours to the world and what is unique to your country! Even the names they choose for their restaurants are Indian Names! This is not an Indian Restaurant. I will never be back here again b.c they may have a masque to put infront of the locals here but their true colours came out yesterday! In human, non ethical staff with no decency what so ever ! Friends and readers who know Indian Food please don't waste your money here. Their are lots of REAL Indian restaurants in the U.K., you shouldn't have to waste your money on the fake ones!!

After sitting in the restaurant for 15+ minutes we had to ask the waiter to take our drinks order, only to remind him 5 minutes later that we still hadn't had them. We ordered the food but it never arrived, we left after waiting 40 minutes. The girl behind the bar who took our money was no older than 12, no management available to complain to, so we paid for our drinks and left. in the time that we sat there, we only saw 1 waiter and no food delivered to any table.

OK the popadoms + pickles were pretty standard (excluding the VERY green mint raita), but the main and side dishes were exceedingly good, with a lot of fresh herbs which lifted the flavour. And when they say hot and spicy, it's exactly that, nothing bland here :-) Looks like a family run business, staff friendly and personable.

Authentic Indian food made with fresh spices. Can be a bit spicier for some but the restaurant can cook for milder tastes also. Our family of kids and adults had an enjoyable evening.

If you plan on eating here don't plan a wedding in the next week or so as service is non-existent. Food is decent but not worth the 2 hour wait we had, even after another 4 tables had left the restaurant.

Stayed in overstrand with my family and visited this place. It was just a hidden gem in Cromer. The food was to die for. I'm actually still craving another meal at this place but I live a good 3 hour drive from there so I just can't wait till I go the next time. Service was great met the owners wife and she was great with the kids. Truly amazing!!

We visited on a Friday night having booked first. On entering we were concerned at the decor which could do with some refreshment. We were shown to our table and the usual poppadoms and drinks were offered. The restaurant filled up whilst we were there and the take away seemed to be doing a good trade. The menu offered most of the usual dishes with a few we had not seen before. The food when it arrived was hot. I had the house special medium hot which was very nice. My wife had the chicken sashlik which she said was very much to her taste. We had the usual accompaniments which were well presented. The bill was what we would have expected to pay where we normally eat. Overall our concerns over the decor were more than balanced by the quality of the food.
