Masala One in Spelthorne

Took a punt and was so glad I did - the food is seriously impressive for a takeaway place. Fantastic chikka tikka and lamb jalfrezi - both were pipping hot and incredibly flavoursome. Vegetable dishes did not disappoint either and my go-to staple order - the one thing I order in every Indian restaurant - Tarka Dhal was again delicious. Great little business which deserves to succeed.

Been ordering here every time I want an Indian for a good few years now. Never had a bad one, always keep coming back, worth the wait for delivery some times, look forward to the next one

Haven’t had a takeaway for ages and decided to try masala one have had it in the passed but not tried it from there fir a while have to say it’s the best curry I have had in a long time I had the phall chicken curry was lovely chicken nice white meat came with two dips as well value for money ordered from there web site as it’s cheaper than just eat it did come early than i booked and they do charge 2 pounds delivery charge but you can get 15% off if you spend over 30 pounds well worth a try

I remember there being a curry takeaway at this premesis as far back as 1989. I finally tried masala one for a takeaway. The menu looked decent and reviews were decent. However I found the found very bland. Maybe an off day, but given the lack of flavours to the dishes I won't be in a rush to try it again.

Probably one the best Pathia’s I’ve ever had in terms of flavour. Found the chicken to be quite hard and dry though. Ordered a prawn purée as a starter and it was very bland. Otherwise certainly in my top 4 for Indian restaurants in the area!

Discovered Masala One during coronavirus lockdown and the food and delivery service is excellent. Had our 3rd lock down meal delivered last night and enjoyed a variety of starters, king prawn dhansak, korai chicken and a several vegetables, rice and paratha. Thank you so much!

above the standard fare, and safe to order during the week also, very good and will accomodate food to your own taste or dietary needs if they can, decent takeaway and reasonable minimum delivery at weekends bit higher during the week

Absolutely outstanding. Asked for the chicken pathia to be extra spicy and sweet and it tasted perfect. Probably one of the best curries ive ever had

This place went down hill a few years ago but with new owner it's back with a bang! Nice curry complimentary dish and only 30mins waiting for it Will defo get a take away again from here

Almost right. I ordered plain boiled rice which looked and tasted like pilau, which I hate; definitely NOT plain rice. Chicken Bhuna and Chicken Tikka were very good but cold because delivery was late. Naan was also very nice. Overall tasty food, just a shame about the rice and that food was cold because of late delivery.

A little later than expected from app arrival time,but I let them off as the food was great!!!

I love hot curry but the phal was very hot, took me 2 hours to eat half of it. It's now the morning after and I can't remember the last time I went through this after a curry. Would I do it again? No, I think I'll stick to vindaloo next time. Otherwise very nice as usual.

Called several times, due to overdue delivery time, but no answer, prawn puri plenty of prawns but tepid, curries good portion size, rice and bread fine. When ordered was quoted 75 minutes delivery time, took 90 minutes, seems a bit too long as restaurant is 5 minutes away, other local restaurants used have been much faster. Only second time used in a year and same delivery time issue before.

Best curry I've had in a long time, My son and his friend agree, I had butter chicken which was delicious, The two men had Tandoori mix grill and c/t masala, Good portions and lovely friendly driver, I will be ordering from them again, Highly recommended.

Called restaurant when it was 5 minute a late and was told they had a problem with a car and it was just leaving so would be 15 minutes. An hour later the food arrived. I had pretty much given up hope as by this point they weren’t even answering the phone. The food when it showed up was cold and greasy. WILL NOY BE USING AGAIN!

Do not use, food was 45 mins late & some of it was forgotten & still have not recieved the rest 1 hour later now 10pm. Food that was recieved was bland & watery, so dissapointed as was looking forward to it & an upset son who didn’t recieve half his dinner. Shame i paid by card as have now lost out & won’t use again.

Terrible. Phoned them when the delivery was 30 mins late and they'd lost the order and hadn't even started it. When it eventually arrived another 40 mins later, it was oily and pretty tasteless. Wouldn't recommend.

This is my go-to takeaway after moving to the area. I don’t eat meat and there are so many great options. I always get the prawn purée however as it is one of my favourites. Staff are nice and food is always hot and fresh

So this was the worst food I’ve ever eaten. The lamb was like rubber and there was grit in the sauce. My girlfriend couldn’t even eat it. Never order from here!

Just had the worst experience...tucking into our lovely Friday night curry only to find what I first thought was a seed or pod was in fact a fly.

The food was lovely. After I ordered it I was told it was an hour's wait for food but in actual fact it was an hour and twenty minutes. An hour already sounded like it was too long! When I phoned about the food not having arrived the person who answered said that the food left the restaurant twenty minutes ago and so I was expecting it to arrive cold, thankfully it didn't somehow. Delivery time is too long. Shame because the food was nice.

The wait time was 1hr 10 minutes quite a significant amount of time to wait. The order was also late by about 5 minutes. Unfortunately the wait seems to get longer as time goes on and ive waited much longer than this preciously. Not sure if this is due to lack of staff but this may need to be looked into by management of the takeaway as it's becoming excessive.

Bad food the worst Indian meal I've had

The delivery driver came and i went to pay and he had no change so had to go to shop. my curry was very nice i had a chef special and my girlfriend had an lamb pasanda. it was so sweet and to creamy didn't go well and it was more like a butter chicken to be honest i think its the same sauce as pasanda sauce it is normaly a bit more of a brown colour when the curry came it was mainly sauce and 6 peaces of lamb. is it worth nearly 8 pound i think not but it was nice they sent another curry out but time it came our dinner is ruined

The food is very good but I had to wait a very long time (over an hour) and this is not the first time it has happened.

food was cold so we had a moan to poor driver who said traffic but the. food was really cold and items missing one being the main chicken tikka Masala.... this was my sons main meal so now we had a struggle to stretch the food. also no nan bread!!!! £15 refund offered (should of been the whole meal and items still sent out as the told just eat they would. think it’s new owners will never use again! and if I was you I’d avoid too!!!!!

food was really good but unfortunately not hot enough as the delivery driver got lost!! don’t understand how a delivery driver doesn’t have sat nav or maps on his phone!! another slight annoyance was that the mango chutney wasn’t in the bag so the poppadoms were a bit bland!

This restaurant is amazing! I order delivery almost every week and each time they deliver either early or on time and the food is always perfect quality (and still hot)! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves awesome Indian food at perfect prices.

First two orders were fabulous. food was hot, tasty and on time (including the first time when it was early). Last two orders have had the initial delivery time pushed back by 30 mins only for them still to be late and for the food to be lukewarm. Sadly won’t be ordering again.

Driver didn’t look at a map at all to find my property, on the phone to him for 15 minutes and then ended up having to go and find him to get the food!!

First time ordering from Masala One, the food was pretty good however they got one of the order wrong which was disappointing especially the dish being slightly more expensive than the one they gave me. I rang them saying they got the order wrong and the guy who answered my call didn't really deal with it as well as I could hope and gave a pretty bad excuse to why they got my dish wrong.

food wasn’t too bad. not a huge amount of meat in the mains, a lot of sauce. only problem was the delay in delivery.

Food was ok, but not worth the 2 and a half hour wait we had. The phone operator was no help and was quick to rush us off the phone very rudely, when asked where are food was.

Very tasty, not too sweet, lovely and hot, free poppadoms and early delivery. Can't fault that!

Ordered my meal at 7:26 this evening. I was drawn to this place because it seemed to have great reviews, was super well priced, and the delivery time was expected at only 40 minutes.

The first time I ordered a takeaway from Masala One I ordered a Chicken Madras which I have to say was just above average but nothing special. The rest of the food was good though - nice Onion Bhaji etc... But then I discovered the chefs special chilli chicken masala dish - WOW! I really mean WOW!!! This dish is amazing with huge peices of chicken, peppers and onions... The spices are full of flavour without being overpoweringly hot... For any price this dish IMO cannot be beat but at the Masala One prices it is a no brainer! Every curry lover should try this!

So so so disappointed, we have had such lovely food from here in the past. Ordered 3 x chicken dishes, each of them had the same problem, the chicken was dry and tasted reheated. Such a pity, but easy to lose a customer with low quality food.
