I been in restaurant with my wife. Staff was professional serving food with high quality. Food was very delictions and great made. Really great place to Indian Food.

Had a delicious meal earlier this evening. Decided to go out rather than order a takeaway. So glad we did. Food was so tasty, fresh and hot. Staff very pleasant. Absolutely worth a visit.

Absolute nightmare trying to get my rebate for cancelled order, it took me 7 weeks and 5 phone calls to receive my rebate. Mumin the Manager was charming and kept on promising the rebate and a call back, but it never happened, every time I called back he promised me he would sort it out and week after week I had to keep calling the restuarant. My worst ever experience of trying to get my money rebated when I knew from day 1 the order had been cancelled in time. Sorry Mumin, you are a lovely guy, but a terrible manager of business!!!

Food was excellent, my Husband said it was the best food he’d eaten in ages. Well worth a visit as we were away for the weekend. Thank you

we had delivery we didn't dine in We gave Masala Gate a 3 star review because the food was very flavoursome but at the same time just too hot. One dish in particular the Prawn Puree starter, was lovely but left a very uncomfortable feeling in our mouths, was far too spicy. If you're thinking of trying them and you don't like really hot food be careful and sure to check the chilli heat levels on each dish you order. We had Chicken Tikka Masala and pilau rice for main with Peshwari Nann and it was delicious not spicy at all. Estimated time of delivery was 30 minutes and waited for 38 minutes so that was great. Price wasn't bad quite reasonable

11 of us came out on Boxing Day and had the best experience and the best service! A stand out of the evening was our waitress Rukshana who couldn’t do enough for us. We had special dietary requirements which were all met and the service was 10/10. Will definitely be returning, if you are in Margate we cannot recommend enough!!

This place has managed to single handed ruined our day out due to their attitude, conduct and racist treatment. We were the only black table in the restaurant and the treatment ( being ignored, to being told to keep quite and getting shouted at )we received from the hijabi lady was appalling and disgraceful!! Wish we went somewhere else.

Menu has chillis next to it if hot however the dish I chose said garlic & chilli no chilli 🌶️ what I got was as hot as a pall , we did say on the menu it doesn’t show this dish to be hot but was told in Indian it says it’s a chilli curry! We asked for water the lady asked if we’d like yoghurt to calm the sauce down, when the bill arrived they’d charged us £2.50 for yoghurt ! We payed didn’t leave a tip & left I realised when we got back to guest house that I’d left my glasses I rang, spoke to the lady & she said no glasses were left, hubby went back checked the table & yes glasses were there, my point being either the customer service is shocking or they’re in it just for the money. Sad

Not bad food ,quite expensive for what it is ,over £82 ,no starters ,no alcohol ,my wife and I with 2 grand children under 11 and when paying ,said would you like to leave a tip ,I usually do ,but didn't like this so didn't ,not much atmosphere to be fair ,will be first and last time here !

Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, and delious food. The prices were very reasonable, and there is a good choice of drinks too, we will definitely be visiting again.

I do not mind waiting for my food order but when told a time I expect them to keep to it. I placed an order online directly with the restaurant at 5pm and was told it would be 30 mins. At 5:50 I called them to find out where my order was. I was then told it was on its way. We live in more or less the same postcode ! Another 20 mins passed and still nothing. It finally arrived but had to be re-heated. The food was fine but if I wanted a microwave meal I would have bought it at the supermarket. You need to get your act together or tell people the truth on how long they will be waiting….. NOT IMPRESSED

Good food but we ordered at 17:15. The food arrived at 19:30. When I rang up there was very little in the way of apology. The food was tasty but luke warm.

Ordered in advance via YoYo app, meal didn’t arrive to time, phoned to ask where it was and after a lot of toing and froing, was told the food was ready but they were waiting for someone to do the delivery. 45 minutes after the requested delivery time, the food finally arrived, just very disappointing!

Food is tasty, nice and hot,can’t do enough for you,been there a few times now and always feel welcome, gave me a doggy bag because I couldn’t eat all of it as large portions

I went to the restaurant during the August Bank Holiday weekend and loved the restaurant. Excellent food, good service and friendly staff. The decor was nice and appears that it may have been a house before becoming a restaurant.

Was recommended this restaurant on a visit to Margate. Service was good, as was the food. Good value, would recommend if in town.

Asking over and over if you had ordered a drink the food was ages coming more concerned about the takeaway orders ,mine tasted like my daughters , it wasn't even busy inside no never again .

Delicious indian food in the middle of this little town. The menu is not so big. We tried the chicken tikka masala and the mix tandor, both were very good. Mango lassi was also delicious. We will come back for sure.

This is a tricky one. We have always loved this restaurant over the years. We have eaten in a few times and also had some delicious takeaways from here. Today's experience has taken an unfortunate turn for us though. We decided to visit on a Sunday lunchtime so, unsurprisingly, it was quiet and we were the only ones there. The food was unquestionably excellent, as always, but the atmosphere was poor. The staff carried on their loud conversations as if we weren't there. There was an extended personal FaceTime call going on loudly in the background, no nice atmospheric music. The waiter could barely manage a smile for us, and we felt a little uncomfortable. We were charged for pint-sized soft drinks, despite the glasses clearly not being that size. I did raise it when we paid but was told my perception was wrong. I can understand that a Sunday lunchtime is more likely to be quiet so may not inspire quite the same level of customer service BUT they should make the choice to stay closed to diners at this time, rather than offer a second class service (for the same price!). It's such a shame we had this experience as the food really is exceptional and this restaurant really has so much potential.

Placed a large delivery order, they requested additional time to prepare it, which was fine. However, having charged an additional fee for an onion salad, which many local restaurants provide for free, they sent a bag of lettuce with a slice of tomato, very disappointing!

We came as a group of friends hoping for a nice Indian meal. This place was really poor. The waitress looked miserable and barely spoke to us, just plonked down the menus still wearing her earphones! My friend saw a guy leave the toilets without washing his hands and walk straight into the kitchen. The poppadoms were clearly reheated and burnt, they gave the four of us 8 poppadoms and they were £1.40 each which is extortionate. The saag paneer had 4 cubes of mushy paneer and the sauce was just creamy spinach, no flavour. Each curry only had 3/4 pieces of chicken in and looked/tasted more like tomato soup. The grilled prawn starter was tiny baby prawns and everything was luke warm. The only good thing about this place was the naan bread. Really very disappointing I really wouldn’t recommend this place - they need to buck their ideas up!

We have had quite a few Indian meals mostly in our home county of Suffolk, but I have to say this was most definitely one of the best ever, Deliciously cooked & served , all the dishes were so tasty. We had a bottle of red which was an Aldi Tempranillo so well overpriced!,The staff were polite & friendly & the restaurant was lovely & cleanWould thoroughly recommend a visit when your in the area

Nice little place for a cheeky meal and also good for gluten free options, my only gripe is that they are selling Aldi wine for which they charge around £5.00 and reselling it for £20.00.

We had a delicious meal from Masala Gate tonight . They are one of the only restaurants around that does a really delicious Dansak. It’s been a while since we have been there but they did not disappoint . We had Bombay Aloo ( delicious ) Tarka Dal ( really tasty and buttery ) Dansak - which was divine - I had pilau rice which was really fragrant and a fluffy naan . Really lovely all of it .

We arrived are the restaurant and waited by the door for 5 mins, staff saw us but ignored us. One of our group went to the bar/cash desk and the man working there continued to ignore us, she said “excuse me, do you have a table for 3”, he didn’t even make eye contact and said there were no tables (we could see that there were). It’s just incredibly poor behaviour with no justification.

Hidden gem, down here for the golf. Fabulous food and good prices. Great friendly service as well. Very clean and tidy. Nice to see the place mostly full by the time we had left too. If you’re in Margate and you want an authentic curry. This is the place. Thank you.

Lovely curry(s) and naans with complimentary poppadom and sauces. Came very quickly (within half an hour of ordering) when we were not expecting it for at-least an hour! Very yummy and good portion size. Came well packaged and piping hot. Will definitely return :)

Covid fest!!! Most of the food was very nice except one dish that was very salty. My main concern was the total disregard for the Covid rules. None of the staff had mask on the tables were packed together really close were not socially distant about 20cm between each not 2m!!! Very concerned!!

We used to use Masala gate in Margate without thinking twice when we fancied an indian but the last two times have been awful, we usually takeaway , we noticed a change after christmas, food was turning up late, cold, orders missing, when my partner rang to complain because our naans, sauses and popadomms were missing he was laughted at down the phone! We gave them a second chance but on the 4/6/21 but again food was cold, orders were mucked up and missing, bargee’s were so over cooked they were inedible and the chicken was grissly and didnt seem quite cooked, its a shame since its 5 minutes down the road from us but when you spend £40/£50 and it turns up like that its a massive let down. Wont be returning.

Im so upset as the food here was lovely however tonight a young girl was on a trial experience and they treated her terribly they snatched plates of her and were rude to her and then they discussed her weight issues by telling her to eat more vegetables, its people like you that give them issues about their weight how dare you she is a young girl willing to work and you treated her badly i for one have no time for establishments like this you have no idea what she may have suffered in the last year

Only had (many) take aways from here. The food is excellent, spicy, fresh and authentic as you'd hope. The delivery is on time or ahead of time which is rare and appreciated.

Really enjoyed our meal at Masala gate - coeliac friendly, good spicy food, and really friendly and attentive staff. After a disappointing experience somewhere else, Masala gate saved our evening!

Pre-ordered a takeaway for 7pm, well before the restaurant opened for evening deliveries. I received an acknowledgement that the order had been accepted. When the ordered hadn’t arrived by 7:15pm, I phoned to ask where the food was and was told lots of other people had ordered too, so the order wouldn’t be delivered before 7:30pm. Food finally arrived at around 7:40pm, very poor service! Think the pandemic has allowed lots of restaurants to provide sub-optimal service to on-line customers.

It's so hard to find really spicy food, but Masala Gate delivers! no...really... Masala Gate delivers. And the food is delicious. Highly recommend.

I ordered from here when my usual Indian was shut on a Monday. My initially scepticism, because it wasn't my usual, completely evaporated with my first mouthful. I had mushroom rice, Bhindi Bhaji, the cauliflower one and a Prawn Tandoori. All I can say is this chef is either supremely skilled or laces his/her curries with crack! I've had curries in India and have been to Benares and this curry holds it's own amongst them. Definitely in the top 1 for best curry I have eaten in Margate.

This is by far the best takeaway curry restaurant we have ever found. The food is fresh and delicious and portion sizes are good. We would definitely recommend it!

Had Takeaway, food was excellent, Chicken Madras, Pilao Rice, Bombay Aloo and Naan. Was given pappaom free. Would definitely order again. Only slight niggle was delivered about half hour later than time given, but was Friday night so expected this, was not a problem. Driver apologised, said very busy.

I can’t deny the meal we ate here was really good, but we left the restaurant earlier than planned as it became busy and there was ZERO social distancing in place. Tables were sat close together, there were no screens up, no hand sanitiser available on arrival, and our details weren’t taken. It didn’t feel safe at all.

What a great place. The food is really delicious and the staff are friendly. Rahman in particular is a fabulous man, warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this delicious and beautiful restaurant.

They phoned us about paying for a dining card that gets you money off the more you use it! THEY LIED YOU CANNOT USE IT ON PHONE ORDERS!! don't fool for it people!!

Definitely the best Indian in Margate! I’ve eaten in and received a takeaway from here. When I ate in the food was great and the service was amazing! Takeaway was just the same and was really quick!

Came here this evening as a 'rule of six' and had a perfectly wonderful time. Absolutely can't fault the service, especially the banter with the waiter who countered every one of my cheeky digs! The food was faultless and actually one of the best curries I've had in a while. I had the Rogan Josh and it was so tender without an ounce of chewy fat, which is unusual, in my experience, with lamb. My friends all enjoyed theirs too. Even the naughty takeaway driver who I saw in a previous review has learnt his lesson and doesn't bring his headbashing coolbox in anymore. All in all for £80 a head it was fab ... I'm joking, it's a curry house ... for £30 a head with copious wine it was a bloody bargain.

We ordered from here and they claimed our driver couldn't find the previous place so were late to us (1 hour past the time they should have arrived), then couldn't find ours (1 hour and 45 minutes after they should have arrived). Same excuse as you can see, then got very rude over the phone. Claimed our number was 'written down wrong' when it was provided by Just Eat, an app which was on our phone so couldn't have been wrong, and they also had it from when we had previously called. They could have asked us to collect if it was so hard to get in touch with us (we were 5 minutes away) but they didn't, because they hadn't bothered to even try with our food. Thankfully, Just Eat refunded us, but we have reached out and requested to Just Eat, Deliveroo and others to remove them from their apps as this is absolutely disgusting service and robbing people. We will also be reporting them elsewhere as well.Do not order from here. I wish we had seen the reviews before we had.

We came here when everywhere else was booked out on a Wednesday night. I suppose that should have been a warning sign. The service was dire. There was a long gap between ordering drinks, then poppadoms, then mains. We asked to order food at one point and were asked to wait a few minutes. They just don't seem to have enough staff. We waited over an hour for our mains. The kids were sliding under the table they were so tired! There were a lot of takeaway boxes by the kitchen door so we can only assume takeaway orders were being given priority. The food when it came was fine - nothing special. The staff did apologise but no more. There was also nothing in place with respect to Covid - no name taking, no sanitiser offered, I couldn't see masks on the kitchen staff. Disappointing.

Called in for a takeout,asked for a recommendation,then was charged to much.Lamb Rogan £7.95 + Garlic Nan £2.95 = £10.90....I was charged £13.90.I wanted to pay by card,but they asked for cash as they needed it to pay a delivery driver.The curry itself was fine,the Garlic Nan was tough,tasted old/reheated.

Ordered a takeaway was delivered half an hour late...it was cold...item missing from order...poor service they said they would deliver the missing item in 20 minutes and now 40 minutes later still waiting...awful give it a miss as the chicken in the curry wasn’t that great very stringy and didn’t taste fresh

Went here with a friend for a catch up over a curry and a few beers. Warm welcome, good service and no complaints from either of us. From the cold pint of Kingfisher through to starters and mains everything was just right. Not rushed at all and after an hour and a half the bill for the evening was less than £60 which I thought was good value. If I was in the area again and after a tasty curry then I’d pop in again.

Recommended I try this restaurant. I had the Chicken Biryani and the special nan. My family had the Chicken Tikka Masala. I found the dish to be very bland and Special nan not so special. The amount of chicken was poor considering the price for the food. The Chicken Tikka had more sauce than Chicken. Result disapointed. £45.00 including 3 cokes.

Really nice "British" Indian. Great fresh flavours and nice service. Atmosphere middling in terms of the room and tables rather crowded in. Absolutely worth a visit if you're looking for a top Indian near the sea front.

Visited this restaurant 10.11.19. Had the most amazing experience. The staff made us feel most welcome and were incredibly warm and friendly. The food was delicious, very filling, and of good quality. The restaurant appeared clean and tidy and was most presentable. Prices are very reasonable. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience, thank you for giving us a most wonderful evening.

This is the 1st time we have ordered Indian takeaway in Thanet and we were very pleasantly surprised how delicious the meal was. i have ordered garlic Chilli Chicken, my partner had Chicken Korma with sides of Bombay Potatoes and Onion Bhaji. The chicken in both dishes was very fresh and juicy. The flavours were just yummy. We also were happy with such quick delivery. The driver was very polite when called my mobile to ensure delivery. This was helpful as we have no answer phone at our flats, so we usually must run downstairs and many deliveries are already walking away. Will definitely order again!

Visited here 12/10/19, warm welcome followed by good service. Food was very good with great flavours , good size portions too. An unusual interior for an Indian restaurant but makes a nice change from the usual drab curry house. For some reason there are some poor reviews for the Masala gate but our meal was great and i would go back tomorrow, there was also plenty of locals in eating as well, so out of holiday season this must be a good sign. Give it a try !

I ordered the Tandoori half chicken from the specials. What arrived on the plate was very small, like a poussin. The poor bird had obviously been on a diet in it’s previous life and what severely little ‘meat’ was on there was dry, tasteless and difficult to remove from the extraordinary amount of bones for a little fella. There were four of us, we ordered papadums & automatically received two each, a great way of boosting the bill. When the bill arrived, fifteen pounds had also been automatically added for service charge. We were out with friends and having a nice evening generally so didn’t want to kick up a fuss on this occasion, everyone else’s meals were fine but that poor bird...

I'd love to tell you what the food is like but I wasn't allowed to try it. Passing by at about 12:30 last Tuesday afternoon I saw they had signs on the road saying open. Went into the restaurant and a waiter was sitting at the table. He got up saying 'sometimes we have to shut early on a lunchtime' and ushered us out. I commented that he should take down the signs outside and as we left he walked out to the sign.Still hunting for somewhere to eat we walked back past 5 minutes later and the sign was still out. So I must assume they just didn't want to serve us for some reason and I can only rate it on that basis.Don't rely on it being open for you.

Can’t knock the food- it wasn’t greasy, it wasn’t re-heated. Lovely food. However the evening was spoilt at the end when we were asked to pay cash (obviously we didn’t have it) and then the card machine “didn’t work” . Even tried to put our cards through and it “ didn’t work”.

Eating with a group of 9 a wide range of fare was sampled and all was to a reliable standard, exactly as mild or hot as requested. Popadoms and Nans also great, as was the service.

We came across this small restaurant, tucked away just down a sidestreet near the seafront. We like indian food and had been looking around for somewhere to eat in Margate. Got seated and served quickly. Staff were friendly and although very busy taking take away orders we were not kept waiting. Just a small family group in there besides ourselves, so a quiet atmosphere. Food was good and we enjoyed it. Given a complimentary Baileys at end of meal. Reasonable prices and menu selection.

We ate here midweek and were the only table in the restaurant, usually a red flag but we went on in anyway.

We ordered take away for collection and it taste nice and was hot, the gentleman that took our order was pleasant and very helpful . Will definitely order from here again Lisa

possibly the worst service in any restaurant I’ve visited. just 2 covers, no food after half an hour. we asked when it would be ready and we were given the bill!! unbelievable!

We ordered from the restaurant after a lovely afternoon in Margate. The first problem with the restaurant is that they delivered half an hour later than the estimated delivery time. We would not have minded the lateness, if the food was of a good standard and enjoyable to eat, however, this was not the case. The lamb balti was tasteless, the prawn tikka masala was clearly rushed and the prawns lumped together rather than spread out smoothly throughout the sauce. Our experience was appalling.

We should have walked when we got the menus: sticky and filthy (my husband sent his drinks’ menu back and asked for a cleaner one).

We booked for a Sunday eve as we have just acquired a DINE card 2 for 1 on main dishes .Masala Gate was advertised on the app stated Sun-Thurs . When I told the waiter we had a card ..he said we don't not accept at weekend I keep telling them ! But said I will give you something free ..we recieved a very small appetizer which we where told was complimentary but every table received one!! The meal was lovely but it just made us feel disappointed as we had specislly chosen the restaurant because of offer . We said a free mains was around £9 ..we didn't leave a tip as we normally would because of this .Also we will now not return..shame !!

1 hour and a half waiting for food. Phoned after 70 minutes to be told is was on its way. 15 minutes later calle back to be told the same. after 20 minutes I just got berated by the restaurant for complaining. We live a 2 minute drive away.

We are regular customers and generally happy with the standard of food but I'm afraid what I have had this evening has left my stomach in knots and the paneer is burnt! The tikka masala sauce is very runny . I'm afraid it's just not it's usual standard and I'm left feeling disappointed. Must be a different chef on a tuesday as other evenings we dont have this problem. Unfortunately this isnt the first time. Shame.

Busy resturant, but service very slow, more interested in getting takeaways out than serving customers dining in resturant. Food bland, tasteless and poor quality.

Ate alone on a Sunday night, good service, especially Pierre (yup, really, in a curry house). Decent dhansak, rice and sag aloo, couple of glasses of drinkable wine, not excellent but pretty damn good.

Not many places open in Margate on New Year's Day evening but this place was. Even though they had a very large delivery order to deal and they told us there would be a small delay getting to our order, they came through with great attitude and excellent food. Don't miss this place. We'll be back on our next visit.

The restaurant was extremely busy on the Saturday we visited. The staff were very apologetic about the wait and kept making sure we were happy. They gave us a complimentary drink as well. Food was excellent and well worth the 45 minute wait.

We have used the Masala for a few years never been a problem ‘until today ‘ my food arrived with no bread, when I rang up to let them know my food was now cold as I had waited for bread which arrived 30 minutes later, they said they could not refund money, so I will be logging this with trading standards, my food was waisted. And I have lost my money. So no stars for this place and no further orders from this household.

We are visiting Margate. And was looking for somewhere to eat. And came across Masala Gate. What a lovely restaurant. We were made to feel very welcome. Spotlessly clean. And we wasn't disappointed with our meals. As they were well presented. And excellent flavours. We really enjoyed it. And would definitely recommend. Well done.

Shocking!!! I had heard that this was a good Indian.The food was okay but everything thing else was appalling , this is supposed to be a restaurant , but the Management was more interested in the takeaway orders, and they couldn’t even get them correct, they were giving the wrong orders to the wrong people .We had to wait over 50 mins between starters and main course even though there was only three tables of two in the restaurant, disturbed by a constant stream of takeaway drivers through the restaurants with food carriers. Think they need to get their priorities sorted, other people waited over an hour with no starters.The manager didn’t even acknowledge us when we went up to pay the bill.

We've just come back from a meal here and wanted to put in a good word as we had a really nice time as a family, The food was great and the portions were generous. The staff were really nice - as in they worked really hard and were professional. Would highly recommend this restaurant. It was a good experience.

We chanced upon this restaurant when arriving for our stay in Margate and we were not disappointed. Some reviewers have commented on the slowness of service when the restaurant was full, but it was not busy when we called and service was polite and prompt. The poppodoms were good and so were the complimentary appetisers, especially the pale green (cucumber?) dish. We chose some dishes from the speciality list and found that the spices were subtle and not to strong, and the fried rice was excellent. Superb was the pistaccio kulfi dessert. A good meal.

This was my first visit, and I thought it would be a same old, same old kind of place- I was totally wrong. Starting with the table, beautifully laid out with a fresh rose in the vase, gleaming cutlery, and a crisp white clean tablecloth- no stray bits of rice or food from a previous diner! The waiter was very attentive, and got exactly what we ordered, even though it wasn't on the main menu, as well as returning after a couple of minutes to check everything was okay. The meal was freshly cooked and superb. Now somewhere, these waiters have had a particular kind of training, when they weren't serving, they were stood almost to attention, ready to deal with anything the diners asked for, as well as opening the door for us on the way out- a lovely, refreshing change to see such perfect manners !

Me and the family visited Masala gate in Margate, now where do i start, was given 8 poppadoms without even being asked - which was billable. Ordered and waited over 1 hour for food, now the portions OMG get more food in a tin of baby food. The taste was appalling, loads of onions and vegetables to bolster the Meat and chicken curries. The service was horrendous and the Manager what a joke, the guy couldn't care less, STAY WELL AWAY....fish and chips next door much better option. They even gave us the wrong dishes....PLEASE STAY AWAY....im just trying to save you money and time.

We were going to a concert in the Winter Gardens starting at 7.30. At 6.15 we entered the Masala Gate confident that we'd be out in plenty of time.

We arrived late into Margate and went looking for somewhere to eat and we came across this restaurant in Duke Street. Although we are not big fans of Indian food, we were very satisfied with what we were served and by the good standard of customer care given by the floor staff. Prices across the whole menu were very reasonable and at the end of the meal, we were very satisfied with our dining experience.

We were the only people in the restaurant. The non Indian waiter was keen but not very experienced. We placed our order and listened to the comedy of errors on the telephone takeaway orders. Our food was very average although I enjoyed a crispy spinach dish which I have never seen before. Most other eating eastablishments were either booked or not open on Monday night or did not appeal. Masala Gate fed, watered and entertained us in a Fawlty Towers sort of way.

Un samedi soir de juillet, nous sommes venus ici un peu faute de mieux, beaucoup de restaurants de Margate étant complets. La cuisine était plutôt correcte, pour des prix au demeurant pas très modérés, mais surtout le service était particulièrement long, car le restaurant pratique également plats à emporter et surtout les livraisons, vu le ballet incessant de glacières..., le tout au détriment du service en salle, semble-t-il, alors même qu'il n'y avait pas grande affluence

Busy weekend but still found time to accommodate six people. Food very tasty and staff great. Thank you

We visited here last night and wish we hadn’t bothered. They made us move table due to a fuse box needing attention, Extremely rushed through dinner, under cooked food, terrible atmosphere. The best experience of the night was walking out the door. Do yourself a favour and just don’t eat here!

We had dinner here today the prices were good value but the portions were a little smaller than normal. The service was pretty good. They have a good drinks list. The Restaurant seems pretty bare in decoration but it's worth a visit

Vegetable Tikka Masala and Chicken Bhuna was not tasty. We have eaten curries in many countries, and both these dishes bore little resemblance to any I have tried in Scotland, Singapore and New Zealand.

We eat here all the time and the food is always excellent, no complaints there at all! They’re just very slow with deliveries so I’d advise you to eat in rather than place an order for delivery.

I went here with a friend that eats here a lot and now I know why. Food was wonderful, beautiful flavours. Great old building in the old town that you can easily miss as I have done for the last 3 years. Lovely high ceilings with pargettng on the walls. Very attentive staff. Already decided I'm going back soon with my wife very soon

Fourth visit now and food has been consistently good. This time I had Chicken Tikka Masala which was lovely - not too hot or spicy as some can be (they class theirs as mild to medium). The nan bread was very light, not heavy and doughy as some can be. The menu is not vast and they do a good selection of fish dishes - something for everyone. Service is good - although it can feel a little rushed they do slow down if asked. Perhaps a fraction more expensive than some other Indian restaurants but not overly so. They clearly do a good trade in take-away which is always a positive sign. If you haven’t been yet - put it on your list!

Checked the menu outside and thought we would give it a go. However I noticed that there were no credit card symbols displayed so asked the waiter if they accepted cards. He said they would prefer cash but it "would not be a problem". We were then presented with menus that were missing the seafood section which, as we do not eat meat, was an issue for us. I pointed this out to the waiter who said someone else would bring it. Waiter kept hassling us for drinks and starters so I dragged him outside and showed him the missing section. This was then brought by another waiter. Meal was ok (just) but when I came to settle the bill was again asked if I could pay cash. As I am not in the habit of carrying £60 plus around I again said I could not. He then asked if I would "add a bit to the bill" at which point I handed him my tip (10%). His attitude then changed completely, all smiles and "thank you very much sir, have a nice evening" etc. My message to the management is make up your minds as to whether you are prepared to accept cards without question. If not, then say so at the outset. If you have to add a bit to your prices to cover the cost of accepting cards (what is it 3%?) then do so (or reduce your profit margin - business seems to be pretty brisk). But under no circumstances give your customers a hard time about it. Eating out is meant to be a pleasant and happy experience - not the Spanish Inquisition! I have probably wasted my time writing this; none of the posted reviews have received any response either positive or negative which says to me that the management aren't really interested in serving up proper 21st century customer service.

My wife and I plus our friends visited here last night and should of walked out after being shown to a table where One of the chairs was ripped and collapsing, the server actually pulled it out, noticed it but thought it acceptable? We the waited over an hour just for poppadoms to be brought out! I appreciate they were very busy with a large table of roughly 25 there, who were also complaining loudly as they waited even longer.

Took the family earlyish on a friday night - had a good experience- friendly staff, and nicely done food - we had a range (tikka, lamb shank, veg sides, naans), all were high standard, would go again
