Really great food and great service, definitely coming back again!!!

We were very happy with our night out at the Ramsgate Tandoori. The hosts make you feel at ease and are nice people. You can’t go wrong with the food and the price is fair. I much prefer this restaurant to the other Indian in town because it’s friendlier and more to my taste.

I love eating at Ramsgate Tandoori and have been eating there since I moved here. I decided it's about time I recommended "my local." The food is excellent and the owners are friendly and welcoming. The food was beautiful and the owners where very polite and kind and made sure we had everything we needed also drinks are nice not too bad a price would definitely recommend and will have to come back.

I’m really disappointed with my order this evening. Everything was tasteless and cold.. and the chicken korma was really runny with hardly any chicken. It’s such a shame because I’ve been a customer for many years on and off and I remembered it being one of the best Indians in town… and now I won’t be ordering again.

Sadly disappointed with the quality of the food. Poppadoms were stale, and a couple of group were given different dishes to what they had ordered.

It was a quiet night and this gave us time to talk with one of the owners (a lovely lady). Great chat on how the business and people’s eating habits have changed over the years. I am old enough to remember when it was an after the pubs close meal. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and if in Ramsgate again will not hesitate to visit again.

Ordered a takeaway last nigth. 25th September 2023. Fast effiecient delivery, free of charge. Chicken Madras, mushroom Pillai rice. Peswarni nan. One of the best Indian takeaways I've ever had. Compliments to the Chef.

This restaurant is great for any occasion. We eat there on a regular basis and the owners are always happy to see us and ensure that we have great service. The food is lovely and I can always rely on having a great chicken tikka masala there. Furthermore, the owners really care about the community they live in.

I can be hard to please when it comes to having a nice Indian and this was unexpectedly excellent! Great food and great service.

This is truly the worst curry I have ever had! Firstly the portion size was very small, main course sent in large container fitted into small one with still plenty of space. Chicken chat starter only about 1/3 of small container and totally tasteless with very little chicken in it. Main course equally tasteless and very under spiced for what was meant to be a medium spiced dish. The only plus was that the food arrived on time and hot!

Ordered a take away chicken and lamb meat was nice but it was bland and tasteless no hint of any spices at all. Babies first curry with long covid avoid.

I ordered a prawn pathia, the pawns were overcooked and the pathia was unlike any other pathia that I have ever tasted. It was not nice at all, it was that bad that I left over half of the curry. On the plus side the garlic nan was not that bad, and I am glad that I ordered it otherwise I wouldn't have eaten anything. The poppadoms were decent but you cant really mess them up. The beer wasn't really that cold so to be blunt it was a £20 plus nan bread for my tea tonight. Looking forward to going back home for a decent curry.

Booked for a Saturday night. Four of us. Great decor, lovely welcome. Ordered madras, dhansak, and loads if other dishes. I don’t know what has happened since my last review about five years ago but top marks now, foie was superb . I highly recommend this venue. It was also lovely to chew the fat with the Mayor.

Sadly this was one of the worst Indian meals I have ever had… it says it’s award winning but I’m not sure how that can be so?! Had very high hopes for this one reading they have been in business for so many years but I suppose they have let things slip a lot since the start and the awards… it left me with a very bad stomach the next day. All food lacked completely in flavour very watery curry’s all chicken was very white/pasty, similar to that of a microwave meal… In fact the whole thing may as well have been a microwave meal and low budget at that!!! Whole menu needs a fix up, perhaps a new chef. Very disappointing. 😕

lovely food. me and my brother went on sunday the 11th of dec the food was so tender and my lamb tikka bhuna was so soft it melted in your mouth my brother had a prawn masala and the sauce was exellent,a great meal and we will return soon.

Went here 2 weeks ago for our annual girls night out. Food was nice and fresh no complaints about food at all. The bill however was different I was overcharged by £6 and my daughters were also over charged one by £18 ft or 2 drinks she didn’t have. This also happened in a previous visit so check your bills as this seems to be a regular occurrence. I did get a refund but should not have happened.

We went for a lunch time special so the menu was already decided, we were not disappointed it was a nice lunch meal, if I went for an evening meal I would go for the vindaloo and sides. The restaurant was empty except for us but that was a good thing on this occasion as my son has extreme anxiety.

I eat in quite a lot of South Asian restaurants. The food in this one was really quite poor.

The only reason you would roll up a prawn puree starter, is because there is hardly anything inside it and you can charge £7.50 for it. Massively overpriced for the quality of food, luckily I don't live local so I won't be going again.

Was recommended this restaurant fair to say won't be listening to them again. Curry was watery tasteless and the only spice was the amount of chilli powder. Onion bhajis bland and had more flour than onion, naan bread covered in ghee for what reason I don't know, they were also very doughy. The only thing that was nice was the chicken pakora and even those were overcooked. About an hour after dinner me and my family all had belly aches aswell. Fair to say I will not be returning and I am still on the hunt for an Indian in thanet that can meet expectations.

Nice friendly Tandoori restaurant in the heart of Ramsgate town, 200 metres from the sea front in Harbour street. I believe it's been with the same owners since 1988. Food is good, price is ok, overall a pleasant place to eat. We were four people, we had 6x pints of Beer and a bottle of fizzy water, poppadoms, 4x onion bhajis as a starter then four curries and it came to £105.

Ordered a takeaway in person woman who took order most miserable person no smile no thank you nothing ,collected 20 minutes later order handed to me without a word no thank you nothing just handed and turned away made myself look stupid by saying thanks when he had just turned away .The food was very ordinary lamb madras was more like a korma with very little sauce,Bombay potatoes hardly any sauce. First and last time never again.

This is an excellent Indian Restaurant which offers a very good choice of cuisine that is beautifully cooked. It is run by extremely pleasant and helpful staff. It also has a lovely atmosphere and is spacious. It’s a very enjoyable place to dine out. I highly recommend the Ramsgate Tandoori.

We have been here several times over the years to eat in and it has never disappointed. Flavourful curry and very friendly service. Always like to visit whenever we are in Ramsgate!

Had my usual chicken vindaloo, plain rice, poppadom, bottle of lager. Never stayed in Ramsgate before; if you want a hot curry and an alcoholic drink this is the place to go. Spice Fusion (see my review) don't sell alcohol, Flavours by Kumar appear not to do hot curries, and The Curry House is only a takeaway. Also, good location near lots of pubs.

Ordered take away for My Christmas meal , it went straight in the bin , complained about it ,but never got an apology, I've been using the Ramsgate tandoori for over 20 years , but sorry to say never again, an apology would have been nice

Really good find - we'll be back. We enjoyed a generous meal and a bottle of wine for £60. I had a delicious spicy potato starter: Aloo Chop. My hub went big and ordered the Tandoori Chicken - it was huge plate (photo). Tasty but a little dry. My main course was vegetable madras which wasn't as hot as I expected and was a little sweet. I'll try something else next time. The tarka dhal was really good. House wine very reasonable at £15 bottle.

Very bland and overpriced- With rude staff to top it off. Selection was of drinks very limited, and the restaurant itself has little to no atmosphere. Sad to say we don’t have much good to say about this place - the bland food was especially disappointing.

Once again, I treated myself to a curry at my favourite Indian restaurant. Puppadums with chutney, followed by chicken tikka Jalfrezi, mixed veg bhaji, pilau rice, and a couple of chapattis, plus a bottle of Cobra lager. It was, as I knew it would be, absolutely excellent. I have been using this restaurant for well over thirty years now, and it hss never let me down. See you all again soon!

Happy with all vegan dishes. I would suggest all vegans who never tried indian/Bangladeshi cuisine, Choose vegetable biryani with Tarka daal, you will never forget the heavenly soul satisfying taste. And small suggestion to the owner to make desserts vegan with soya/almond milk to catch vegan customers. I know it's not common yet in indian restaurants but whoever will start it, will rock too.

Wrong timing on food disgusting service on a birthday party the main people were served last with attitude and orders were not all correct when served

It’s very rare you find an Indian restaurant open at dinner time- from 12-2pm apparently. Friendly attentive service, reasonable prices and excellent food. The onion bhajis were hot and crispy and the Chicken Rezala I had was very moist with lots of sauce. I am usually a “chilli head” so it was an unusual choice for me. It didn’t disappoint in the slightest. My wife had the vegetable korma and pronounced it “superb”. So don’t hesitate- just go in, you won’t regret it!

Bad very slow service. My dish was nothing like a madras, hardly no meat horrible flavour. Friends dish was ok. Rice was small portion definitely not enough to share. They didn't check on us, had to keep asking them for drinks etc, thought the person working was rude. Wouldn't go again, if this is the best in ramsgate I pity you all, the dishes are nothing like they should be

We've been visiting the Ramsgate Tandoori for over twenty years now and always look forward to a wonderful evening. The food is simply delicious, beautifully spiced, with layers of flavour, and portions are generous. Vegans like us are very well catered for and the food is excellent value. The hosts, Raushan and Rezaur are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We're already looking forward to the next time which we hope will be soon!

I had another meal delivered from the RAMSGATE TANDOORI this evening. Their food is always good and delivery is pleasant and polite. I enjoyed my meal very much and I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent restaurant.

As usual, the meal I ordered this evening from the Ramsgate Tandoori was absolutely excellent. It was hot, good qualitgy, tasty and plenty of it. Unfortunjately, my josh had spilled in the delivery bag. Everything was in a mess as the lid had come off. Much of my meal was spilled. I will still be back. Excellent food from lovely people.
