Amazing food, fantastic service, decor lovely, would highly recommend. Very clean & hygienic toilets…couldn’t fault this place

This place used to be really good, very disappointed after ordering from their tonight. We ordered a takeaway this evening, we were informed it would be 45 mins, an hour and a half later and we were still waiting. The chicken saag was bland, watery and tasteless - it literaly had zero spice or flavour and looked disgusting. The chicken balti was incredibly dry and the spices tasted burnt. The curry's seemed as if they were reheated, goodness knows when they were made. Being pregnant i did not feel safe eating this food. The peshwari naan was disgusting - very dry and burnt. Will be asking for a full refund and absolutely will not be visiting again.

This is our 1st visit back after a good few months and I can honestly say so glad we did. We were shown to our table and ordered our drinks,then our poppadoms & sauces which were lovely & fresh Our main meals came out and what can I say the amount we got was awesome infact 2 of us had to fetch ours home with us we just couldn't manage it all. The naan breads chips & rice was lovely too. We took my dad which was his 1st time and he is so fussy but he enjoyed it so much. Well done to all the staff they were lovely & friendly. Keep up the good work and we will be back soon.

Late review – been trying to pick out the good bits! Booked a table on a Saturday night, previous good reviews and visits but this time (7th Aug 2021) . . . it was terrible. Two small onion bhajis came plain without a salad garnish or lemon and had to ask for raita which came in a small plastic takeaway carton (just enough for one really – there were 4 of us), then found the bhajis were rock hard and overdone. Taken away and replaced with “complimentary” vegetable pakora which were nice enough but they later tried to charge for them. The size and presentation of the naans and chapattis were impressive, however the Balti wasn’t a Balti neither was the Jalfrezi a Jalfrezi. Rice portions were small and Tarka Dhal was off the menu tonight. There is a good choice of reputable restaurants in West Cumbria and we will wait for consistently good reviews on Masala Corner before we return. 2 out of 10.

We placed an order for a takeaway from this place on our arrival at our B&B place for our Lake District holiday. The food was strictly okay with decent quantities but the rice portion was way too little. The naans were soft and warm. But the problem was the waiting time. We were told that we can collect the food in 20 min and we were made to wait for more than 35 min. It was the last thing we wanted to do after a long, tiring drive from London and it put us off.

3rd time ordering delivery. Mediocre Chicken pakora way over cooked, chewy and dry, no salad accompanied. Chicken tikka Madras, ok, but not very saucy. Garlic chilli chicken again, was ok, it’s a different kind of Indian takeaway, I wouldn’t say it was really really bad, as I enjoyed what I had, but it’s very expensive. I wouldn’t order the chicken pakora again as they were literally just so dry and chewy and awful, both dishes and rice were swimming in grease, which, I don’t get with other Indian takeaways.

We ordered lamb jalfrezi with a peshwari naan and chicken tikka balti with garlic naan at 5.30 on a Friday night. Despite being the busiest night of the week the food was ready in 45 minutes for collection as promised. The meals were delicious, with beautifully tender meat and tasty sauce, and we were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary poppadoms and pickles. I can honestly say we've never been let down by Masala Corner and look forward to everything getting back to normal so we can enjoy nights in the restaurant again!

Very impressed with this little gem in a place where I wouldn't expect to find such authentic Pakistani/Indian cuisine that certainly is as good as (if not better) than the famous curry houses of Manchester. Thank you for such a wonderful meal and excellent service, will come back next time when we return to the Lakes!

I haven’t had the pleasure of sitting in to eat yet, but I definitely will be as soon as I am able to as I love their food! It’s a little more expensive than the other Indian takeaways in Workington, but it’s definitely worth it if you’re looking for a treat!

So I do love a good curry, booked a table in masala corner ready for a nice juicy tika masala. Arrived and sat down to be given the menu, staff promptly came to take our order to be informed that they weren’t making curry. Like what! It’s an Indian! What Indian isn’t making curry. That’s like a chippy not serving chips. Just barbaric. Chips, rice and narn was the only menu items being served. Where I come from this isn’t a true Indian.

My partner and I have just enjoyed a great takeaway from Masala Corner, restaurant come takeaway. It is April 2020 and everyone is standing by social distancing measures due to Covid-19. Masala Corner is one of the few takeaways open at present - and well worth it. The staff were very professional at all times and the food was plentiful and excellent. Well done Masala Corner! Will certainly be back!

Disappointing . . . Sauce more out of a jar than freshly cooked No tomatoes in Rogan Josh!!! Mushrooms black, old and chewy Chapatti too firm and crispy Table not cleared, pay bill at bar - obviously too busy with 2 people in restaurants Regular in Workington but will not be back shame as nice place

Well although this was my first visit I can honestly say it won't be our last! Food absolutely outstanding and service second to none. A massive thank you to Ella and Owen on your truly fabulous recomendation on our meal choice, really was a great help, truly appreciated. Would also like to say how very friendly and professional you both were. Hats off to the chef as it really was a five star meal. We wish you all the success for the future and will see you again real soon.

I had a takeaway last night and was very disappointed. The veg dansak was bland and tasteless , the balti was just gravy with a few lumps of chicken. Overall I will not return.

The restaurant looks the part with friendly staff took the missus we were the only people in and it still took an hour to get our meal we had a chicken Madras and a chicken tikka masala just to find out it was slightly different colours but tasted the same with 2 pints of coke shocked to find a £60 bill for below average food and a waiting time so long

Wonderful service and atmosphere, food was fantastic and enjoyed by us all, will definitely visit again soon.

Loved it. Amazing food, lovely decor creates and cosy atmosphere. Staff were so friendly. If ever you are in west Cumbria you have to try this place. Proper authentic food. Large portions, even gave us containers to take our left overs home.

Visiting family tonight in Maryport and fancied a curry. We needed a restaurant with disabled access so came to Masala Corner. Kieron the restaurant manager made us welcome as soon as we arrived, his service along with Owen and Ben was top rate. The food was also perfect, would recommend this restaurant highly.

Hi all would just like to say thank you to all the staff at Masala Corner for making our Works christmas night out a great one. The food was fantastic i tried something new that i have never tried before on recomendation from my co worker i tried the chicken Dansak it was outstanding. special mention to the waiter Kieran who was so polite and proffesional he even went to the shop and bought some rennies for michelle as she suffers from indigestion ty so much all i will definetly be eating here again

The meals are delicious. Staff attentive. A good selection of tasty freshly cooked food. Restaurant is comfortable, no allocated parking, though. Food served when it’s ready. Fish Pakora is delicious.

Had such a wonderful time, the staff were super lovely and the food was delicious. One staff member Ben (great guy) went out of his way to go to the shops to buy Red Bull so I could have my favourite drink whilst I ate my meal. We were a group of 20 which accommodated us amazingly and were visiting Workington to build a new store, the hospitality was brilliant. I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant, we came two night in a row. Thank you so much for a lovely meal guys, and keep up the good work! :) <3

We visited this amazing restaurant two nights in a row on our business trip.The food is simply delicious. What really stood out for us was the atmosphere that the staff created. Attentive,funny and you can tell they really enjoy what they do. Can't ask for more.Apart from another curry perhaps

Best Indian in Workington food is beautiful ingredients are first class the staff including Kieron the restaurant manager are first class I can highly recommend this restaurant

We booked Masala Corner as a group of 10 for a friend’s birthday. My first time eating there but had been recommended, and others in our group had been there before and loved the food.

We enjoyed one of the best meals we had eaten in a long time in an Indian Restaurant. The menu had a great selection. The food was very tasty and excellently cooked, and just the right level of spice. The staff were very friendly and were prepared to accommodate us even though they had a party of people on the Saturday evening. We would be happy to return.

Came for a meal and realised we didn't have time before the theatre - they offered to do our order as a takeaway. Redturnt was closed on our return and they opened up to give us our food - nothing too much trouble. Excellent service thank you

Food was very nice and reasonably priced. The staff were attentive and provided an amicable setting for a lovely evening.

Straight in with the service which was terrible. Excuses that the restaurant was busy weren’t really founded because there were still empty tables - so essentially they’re saying they can’t cope. It took 2 hours to receive food, this is after a lengthy wait before we were told some of the starters weren’t available and had to reorder.

Friends birthday meal, table booked for 13 at 19:00. By the time our mains were served it was 21:15, 2 hours 15 minutes later.

Had so much to eat could hardly move! It wasn’t their fault to be honest but they kindly offered me some milk and afterwards I was completely stuffed. I loved the curry it was excellent and spicy.

Recently went tonight for a meal with my partner. Honestly couldnt fault the place the food is top notch full of flavour and certainly got enough food that your paying for, the venues something else clean and tidy. All staff were brilliant as well. Highly recommend.

Came across this amazing restaurant on a walkabout. Decor is stunning. Service was spot with Leah and Katelyn. Food was spectacular HUGE portions. Hot and Fresh. Had to take a doggie bag home I which they provided plastic tubs and bags. Can't say good enough about this restaurant. Highly recommended 5*

My work colleagues recommend this restaurant so I thought I'll give it a try. I end up enjoying the night, the food was lovely, the decor was exceptional. I definitely recommend this place although it's a shame they don't do home delivery.

We visited Masala Corner for the first time last night and it was faultless in every way. The staff were lovely and attentive but not over the top. The decor is so tastefully designed. The food was absolutely delicious, the best Indian meal we have ever had. It was so tasty and well presented and what we couldn't eat we brought home with us and having it tonight with a glass of red. We would highly recommend Masala Corner it was a real pleasure to find this special restaurant and look forward to returning soon.

My partner and I have had several meals here over the last couple of months, the service and food is always 10/10 we couldn’t fault them in anyway, looking forward to our next visit.

I don;t think I've ever been in another Indian restaurant where the waiters were not Asian. Two young local girls were waitressing, but don't let that question the authenticity of the food on offer at Masala Corner.

What can i say. We have had currys in London, Birmingham and Bristol to name a few. Also various holidays abroad. But by far this is our favourite Indian restauraunt. The meals are perfect and we look forward to visiting again.

Visited Masala Corner this evening, Our host Ella, was very atentative and couldn't do enough to make our visit special! The meal was excellent, with great spice content! The restaurant itself has been beautifly designed, with quality throughout! We will definately be back soon!

I’ve been here a few times and it is wonderful. The food is outstanding, and is served quickly, with good portion sizes. The interior is stunning, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Every time I’ve been, I’ve left very full and very happy. If you’re looking for Indian in Cumbria, Masala Corner is your go to.

Had a lovely family birthday meal. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, we definitely ordered too much but we’re happy to take away the leftovers in containers. The price was also very reasonable.

Visited bank holiday Sunday. Not very busy even at peak time. Seated quickly, drinks and pickle tray ordered. We then had to wait over an hour for starters despite the restaurant not being busy. I had the prawn purre which was more like cheap shrimp than prawns but edible. No apologies for the long wait when food brought out. Never asked if meal was okay and never asked if we would like to order more drinks. Mains then came out really quickly after starters and our dirty starter cutlery hadn’t even been cleared by the time the mains came out! Overall just really poor not attentive service. Plates would not be cleared away unless you’d left the restaurant meaning lots of dirty plates on tables despite it not being busy. Mains were absolutely vile, could not eat them at all. Both curries (dopiaza and madras) had a really strong powdered texture to them and strange flavour. After the rubbish meal it came to £70 for two of us so not cheap. We’ve had much better meals elsewhere for less. Disappointed.

Pleasant internally and friendly service. I had onion bhaji's and chicken saag, the bhaji's were really tasty and left me feeling I could have had more, the pickle tray has 6 flavours including a very nice home made raita with cucumber. I usually head for a saag dish and this was exceptional, enough chicken and the consistency was very good and quite thick which you don't get often. It had good flavour and went really well with the vegetable rice and although wine is usually an afterthought some thought had gone into the list and I found the sauvignon blanc really quite pleasant, so much so I had another glass. I found the bill reasonable and not out of step with the food and drink served. I would visit this restaurant again and have no hesitation in making this recommendation at all.

Fantastic food, extremely generous portions, lovely staff, interesting and eclectic décor, great ambience. Highly recommended - we will certainly be going back ASAP.

Loved the food the chicken and lamb tikka was great quality meat and the lamb was do tender and such a big portion my husband couldn't finish it, the nan bread was superb great service well worth a visit

I had the Tandoori Fish starter and Daal Gosht main and the food was amazing. The fish so tasty and the lamb melted in your mouth they made the rice to my request so they left out the chilli and put extra coriander in!!! If you are ever on Workington have this place a try, the staff are lovely and friendly. Well worth the money.

Family were over for a visit, so on the way home we all decided to pop in and see our old friend Yasser.

Me and Mum travelled up from Manchester for a week Andr happen d upon this little gem by chance. We ordered Spinach and potato curry as well as a chicken biriyani. They arrived quickly and tasted just divine, best potato and spinach curry I have ever had and the chicken biriyani was so flavoursome and soft. Our servers Ella and Katelyn were delightful and friendly, and made us feel at home. We would definitely highly recommend this amazing place for a lovely evening meal out and would go again without a second thought, well done to the chefs!

Me and my fiance called in on a Saturday night for a meal X Tony had a vindaloo garlic naan and rice and I had a butter chicken dish X absolutely delicious could not fault the food and service X and reasonably priced X also poppadums and accompaniments before main course we're a meal on there own !! X

Visited with family, service was very good, food not so. Everyone mentioned the lack of spice, heat and flavour in their dishes, compared to other restaurants visited. Lovely place, nice surroundings but food was a little disappointing

Booked as we got loads of recommendations. When we first arrived the two girls behind the bar totally ignored us for a good couple of minutes - then the manager, Kieran, came to greet us and all was well from then on.

2nd time here and decided to stay away from the sizzle plate this time as it was a carb overload.

Lovely Valentine's night the food was amazing I had fish pakora for starter the fish was so tasty and tender and the prawn sizzles to follow which was so tasty but I couldn't finish it so my meal was packed to take home the decor was so beautiful the manager Ian took our photo in a lovely area of the restaurant great idea his service and friendly relaxed but professional manner was top notch and just another nice touch got a red rose to make the evening just a bit special well done Ian and the Masala corner team will definitely be back so of course I highly recommend this restaurant thanks for a great night out

Looked on trip advisor and decided to give this place a try. WOW! Front if house manager Neuron was very hospitable from entering to leaving, the food was exceptional, probably one of the best Indian meals we have had in ages! Pity we don't live locally, can't praise them enough!

My first visit here, but I will go again. The Prawn Peri was beautifully light and just crisp. The Pashwari naan has a mild caraway flavour and less sweet and coconutty than many I’ve had; it was a refreshing change.

Visited Masala corner for the first time last night. We had poppadoms, starters and mains - all delicious and big portions - we easily shared a naan and rice. Food really was great. Service was also fantastic, especially the man who appeared to be in charge - super attentive, polite, welcoming. Even received a cute little bag of mints upon leaving as a nice touch. Would recommend and will definitely be back!

Yet another good curry here. Great pickle tray. Vegetarian mixed stater is huge and tasty. I had lamb pathia which is obe of my favourites. However, here ut started a bit too sweet for me although it did have a spicy finish. The garlic butter chicken was delicious.

Came here just before Xmas ordered of the set menu. 3 popadums dips, appetiser, main rice/nan or chips.

Vegetable biryani and saag bhaji were spicier than elsewhere but very tasty and plenty there. The peshwari naan was delicious and we received free poppadums and chutneys too! Looked very smart and comfortable inside, so will go for a meal there sometime soon :o)

Called in here before going to see Hazel O'Connor at the Carnegie, all we can say is Fab, meal lovely, service great and will definitely go back.

Went after work with a couple of colleagues. Had the Sheesh kebab for starter (bit disappointing) followed by the Bollywood Burner (hottest thing on the menu - enjoyed it). We also had a popadum each for starter but when I got the bill the accompanying pickles were a bit steep at £2.75. Came to just under £75. The waitresses were really nice and friendly too - especially the one who wants to embalm dead bodies!

Loving setting with delicious Indian food and lovely friendly staff who know their menu well. Very generous portions which can be boxed up to take home. We took 2 large trays of our mega sizzler home. 20% discount for takeaways. We'll definitely be back!

This was our first visit to Masala Corner and I must admit first impressions are very good!

Over cooked and dry starter of mixed vegetable starter. However, I’d asked for deep fried chillies as part of this and they were freshly cooked and lovely. Main course of chicken tikka jalfrezi very thick sauce and very few onions and peppers. The worst of it however was the chicken tikka was over cooked and dry. The tarka dahl was ok if a bit mass produced.
