Masala Canteen in Brent

The food was excellent but they need to improve their service. Because i ordered food and salad but they didn't provide me salad and add that charge on my bill.

Yesterday we had been to Wembley High Street for shopping. After spending sometime on High Street we thought of going for Lunch. Normally we used to go to Saravana Bhawan but that day we decided to explore this restaurant right at the corner of Wembley high street. When we entered, it was very very neat and looking great and also not crowded. Staff were very nice. When we started ordering Lunch we got to know that there is 30 % discount offer when we pay via cash that was really a great offer. We ordered Paneer and Masala Dosa along with Moggo and Chilli Panner and it was really good and price was very reasonable. Some desserts were not available but that was ok for us as we were completely full after eating those ordered stuff. When we were about to pay and with 30% discount the bill was so low that we can't believe. Worth visiting this restaurant. We will go again when we visit Wembley next time.

Great food. Ordered 3 types of Dosas, Gobi Manchurian and tea .. All were tasty and reasonably priced. Usually it is difficult to find good dosa, sambhar and chutney at the same place but they were perfect.. Definitely visiting again. Awesome job guys, keep it up!

DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE. UTTERLY DISGRACEFUL ORGANISATION. Ordered via JustEat this evening. After an hour of nothing, I phoned the restaurant and they claimed that the food was ready, but the delivery driver had left. Just Eat then clarified that they had sent 3 different drivers and each had been told the food wasn’t ready yet and sent away. When we called again, the restaurant said it was 15 minutes away from being finished. So they lied to us. HALF AN HOUR LATER, the food still hadn’t left the restaurant. We called again and they said the food was ready. This was another lie. Another half an hour passed, and the restaurant said the food would need ANOTHER half an hour to be ready. So we cancelled the order after 2 HOURS OF WAITING. This is a restaurant run by people who will lie and mislead their customers without a second thought. This is a restaurant which takes 2 and a half hours to prepare a simple takeaway order. There are plenty of amazing curry places in the Wembley area - trust me, just go somewhere else and save yourself the trouble.

Waited 2 and a half hours for my order from here. Called several times and got various excuses but every time was told that it would only be 10 more minutes. The last time I called it turned out they hadn't even cooked the food yet and it would be another 30 minutes at least. When I said that this was unacceptable after a 2.5 hour wait they told me I should just cancel my order and hung the phone up. Very unhappy and will never be ordering from here again. Quality has definitely dipped in the last year.

Visited this place more than a year ago when it was really nice. When I visited the restaurant today, their service has gone very downhill. The food wasn't great either. When frustrated customers complained about the service, the big guy at the counter was even rude. Would not recommend anyone to go through this experience

They used to have the best paneer tikka lababdar and naans pre Covid lockdown. So disappointed with however it has changed. It now tastes just like the ones in the other restaurants very bland.

The best dosa ever.It has a great variety of Indian food and value for money. The service was good so was the cleanliness.

The food is nice and tasty (only if they don’t use too much food color in curry) but after giving order it comes very late as I order for dosa and manchurian, where we are only two customers in whole restaurant and when it comes it literally cold. And they offer 50% discount but at the end they charge for device without asking customer as it’s their right to give or not which is random £3.90 and 97p VAT, i means what is that ??? Just because I didn’t say they thought they an make fool to customer by charging this, I will go next time and see how they will do next time.....

We went for lunch today. The offer as advertised on the window was 50% off everthing subject to minimum £15 spend. We spent £32. A 50% discount was given but then a 20% service charge was added on the whole total amount of £32. I said that I had not seen any service charge shown on the menu put on the tables or shown on their advert in the window. The man at the till went away hurriedly downstairs without giving any explanation leaving a young new person who had just started work there at the counter. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE PAYING.The Dum Aloo Punjabi was just potatoes in tomato pasata. Very disappointing.

Great food, Great customer service

I ordered rava masala dosa and chili onion dosa, both are delicious in taste. If you are food lover like me then you must visit this restaurant. I also appreciate the efforts of the staff on the busy day.

This has to be one of worst experiences at this place. I just can't fathom how they operate a restaurant. Service is lousy, Communication is non existent. Customer service...i think I missed that one.!! The food took so long(1.5 hours) to arrive that we started to walk out until one of tbe staff said it will take 5 mins. Low and behold it arrived. However it would be nice to have cutlery and crockery to eat from. To even get that was a mission. We ended up in the kitchen to get plates. The food was cold aswell and when we asked one of the staff, he shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know" The experience was something.in the end we left in total amusement as how an establishment is being operated. The management really needs to show some courage and be a front to the business and not leave staff to take the flak. Felt sorry for them. They now there is govt scheme operating so surely they should get additional staff. Would not recommend this place at all..the place should not even get 1 star. Very disappointed 🤬🤬

Myself my mum and daughter came into Wembley to go to dosa express but unfortunately there was a huge queue outside. Looking around the other South Indian restaurant was busy too so we ended up going to this restaurant becuase it was windy and my mum is 70 and was unable to walk very far. On arrival the tables were occupied with customers waiting for their food. One staff approached us about 5-7 mins later and cleaned the table. Firstly no menus were bought to table, I had to ask for them which was only one menu. We decided what we wanted and ordered only when the staff said there is no chats at the moment. I feel that customers should be informed when arrived at the door as my daughter wanted chat and pani puri. Around us were families looking very upset and curious about their order. Behind us the family told us that everyone has been waiting long time, about 1 and half hours. We decided to order the starter. Paneer tikka was very mild with no flavour just red chilli turmeric and coriander power which has been roasted. Crispy bindi was just out of flavour. No plates were given while this came. We asked for popadum while we wait but only got one. We decided we will not wait for the main and decided to set the bill. Only 3 staff working One family cancelled 2 dishes as they couldn’t wait. Overall I won’t be going back as service and level of quality of food was poor. They need to improve their communication level between them and offer more services if they are going to open in this pandemic and recruit more staff.

When I have been to this place, I feel it was very poor and Worst Services ever seen before. Even more than one hour had to wait for starter ...

This restaurant's quality and service had really badly gone down the drain. The waiting time is really long and the food taste and quality has become really poor. People who come after you get their food way before you do which is really disappointing! When asking how long the food will take to come , they give a very vague answer. We went as a group consisting of 10 people but they gave only 6 plates and no glasses for water. We waited approximately 45 minutes for just the main course and 1 hour for the main course.They didn't even take the used plates after we were finished with it. This has been the most horrible experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. I strongly don't suggest coming here and if you do then be ready to experience horrible service and rubbish food.

Dosa i’ ve enjoyed it. The super South Indian food 🥘 fantastic taste, would recommend who want and eat this lovely food.

Great tasting dosa, the batter they use has a really good flavour and the right "tanginess" from the fermented batter. The gobi manchurian is also a must have! Staff are friendly and lovely venue. They also have a meat menu which we didn't try but definitely will next time.

First good thing, thank you for starting non veg menu. I recently had a chicken tandoori and it was awesome and same goes for other non vegetarian dishes. Now the not so good part, 1. Staff is not well trained. They lack the basic waitering skills like profound knowledge of menu, attentiveness and punctuality. 2. Waiting time is huge. For each order you have to wait for at least 30-40 mins. This take away all the fun and interest. Hope you work on these points.

Masala Canteen turned to Masala Bar and Restaurant. Amazing name with a pathetic service. If you wish to visit this restaurant make sure you have ample of time. They take minimum 45 minutes to serve a simple dish. They proudly tell you about their new dishes and poorly serve them. Few tips to the owner: - You need to pay a bit attention in your restaurant. Starting one isn’t sufficient. You need to work there in order to serve better. - Hire few non-vegetarian waiters. As your waiters do not have knowledge about non-veg dishes and effortlessly give an excuse that he or she are vegetarian and thus not aware of non-veg dishes. - Train your employees. You need to provide plates and spoon basic requirement in order to eat before you serve any dish. - Also, train them to take orders properly along with paying attention to the customers.

Terrible terrible and once again terrible experience. Let's start with the food no fresh ingredients! I was visiting with my family and day after the visit everyone felt terribly ill and had stomach problems! The owners seem not to care at all about how the business is doing or they don't have any idea how to run a business they are rude and racist!!! After I complained about the food quality they have been giving me attitude and been so rude to me I just asked for the bill and left. Please avoid at all costs! Unless you are looking for stomach flu and bullying from the owners.

Dropped on an evening and was gobsmacked for such a good tasting food..reminded ne of home food outside home. Every items we observed was good. Loved it. Will recommend.

We sitted more than 40 minutes still they didn't take order. No service at all. Lady staff is rude. Useless place. Waste of time. Never ever suggest to anyone.

Waited for 45 mins and they didn't even came to tak order. The restaurant wasn't even busy. And at the time of leaving didn't even had courtesy to ask what wrong they did. So pathetic

It was my first time at Masala Canteen Great customer service, Tasty food but extremely spicy (coming from someone who ate growing spicy food) So don't forget to ask for mild if u can't handle it. Had to complain and get it replaced due to way over spicy even things like Sev Puri, asked for mild chilli paneer came to spicy again so got to get it replaced. For mains Ordered Malai kofta, way way too salty , couldn't even eat one bite of it. Called person who served and gave him to taste it, he was shocked himself for the amount of salt in it. Got that replaced too , it was ok after that . But naan got cold until they replaced Malai kofta, but didn't replaced naan, we didn't ask for it as we were feeling bad that all our order are going back in kitchen, but expect them to offer us, all my orders have been replaced due to being salty and extremely spicy food. Very Sticky floor, Advice to Management: Please get floor cleaned , I never asked for discount on bill for every order messed up but I expect to get some sort of concession without asking, having to eat cold naan , waiting twice the time as every order was messed up. But saying all that waiter who served us apologized many time and did things to correct there's mistake.

Used to be a very good place but my experience there last night was pathetic. I got manchurian,kadhai paneer and noodles for takeaway which were all just full of chillies and inedible. The spring roll was just about oil oozing out of it and extra chole costs 5 pounds. Never visiting this place again

Lovely food and atmosphere. Reasonably-priced beer, and a massive menu. The only trouble was in deciding what to have, but our waiter was very informative and had a few recommendations.

One of my biggest mistake I had gone for that.staff attitude was zero and one of the Laddy who is working over there with bad attitude and zero customer service.i don't want to write about food they must be using tin gravy.bcz I belongs from the hospitality industry.I can't tolerate this things bcz India is the best for hospitality.once I can ignore the test bcz every one has different choice but customer service and team management is zero.

Loved this place. I ordered Pav bhaji, chhole and biryani. The food was fresh and tasty. The entire menu is vegetarian. The best part was the matka kulfi.

Food is horrible. Lime soda doesn’t have fresh lime. Pav bhaji is not mashed at all. Rest of other items similar story. Please avoid if you want to enjoy Indian food.

Apparently the management changed a couple of months ago and now the service and the food quality is poor. I was a regular when the original management, led by Venkatesh, was in place, and would have given it 5/5 then, but now it’s not even worth the 1/5. #BringVenkateshBack.

Horrible experience. Asked for a non spicy vegan food and they gave me a really spice food. Tried eating for a bit it but it was unbearable to whistand. After that one of the staff, roling her eyes and being rude, went to the kitchen to have the spicy curry replaced. They brought me ANOTHER even spicier curry. I barely ate and said I wouldnt have it, just ate plain rice. Asked for a discount and they gave me 1 pound discount out of 10 pounds. Never coming back.

Excellent place for Indian food (North Indian and South Indian and Indo chinese), Very good staff and food preparation. My favourite here is masala dosa which reminds me of Bangalore dosa. All the best, keep up the good work.

Terrible experience. Went with a group of 6 friends and we enjoyed dinner but spent the night violently ill. Every single one of us had food poisioning. I am sure the chutney served was old and hence the food poisioning. Stay away from this one.

We went to this place on a Saturday evening. Only half of items in menu were available. Anyways we ordered few things and waited...and waited...and waited. All the other customers like us were utterly upset as well. I felt for the staff having to bear the brunt of customer ire. The owner of the place is unfit to run a restaurant. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Awful place, got here early and was told to come back after 6, got back 6:30 and was made to wait 25mins for drinks and first dish despite being 1 of 3 tables in the restaurant. Food was cold so sent it back, everything was spicy despite our requests for mild dishes as well as spice. Just a bad experience from people who don't seem to care about their customers.

The only excellent food I've tasted so far was the Masala Dosa, I've tried Chola Bhatura and it was awful, Bhatura was dripping oil and the Chola was flavourless, well that's my opinion, they food is quite expensive and I think it wouldn't hurt so much to reduce they cost to compare with they quality; by dressing up a pigeon doesn't necessarily make it a pheasant. I would still go back, but only for they crispy masala dosa👍. And they warm bottle of drinking water 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴.

Our visit here was quite simply one of the worst experiences we have ever had in a restaurant. This place is shoddily run with no accountability. We visited on a sunday evening for a pre-booked table. On arrival the place was half full but by no means busy. We were frankly astonished to be told that we could not order any of the chaat dishes as the 'restaurant was too busy' and they might make mistakes.' SERIOUSLY??? What kind if indian vegetarian restaurant cant make a bagel puri because they might make mistakes??? This us honestly the most pathetic thing I have heard at a restaurant, just ludicrous. We were not warned of this when booking our table, making our surprise even worse.The food that we were able to order was pretty mediocre. The paneer tikka in the mixed grill was hard and rubbery unfortunately. The only dish that was any good was the masala papad. The final insult was finding out at the last moment the restaurant does not take card and was cash only! Again pathetic for a restaurant this size. When we asked to complain the waitress said there was no manager on site. In summary - A total disgrace !

We went with friends and thought to try this restaurant out, we are all vegetarians and had lots and lots of choices, we had three different curries they all tasted different which was such a culinary pleasure, lovely hot naan bread cooked in a tandoor, mmmmm... will definitely go again and again

Came across this place whilst looking for a local place to eat online. Went in a got a menu to study over a pre meal drink in the pub the waitress was quick to inform us this was a vegetarian restaurant which suited us veggies.. There was such a choice we couldnt decided so when we entered the restaurant the waiter asked our likes and dislikes and type of curry we prefered. Hubby likes a hot one i prefer mild so we left it to our waiter. The meal he served us was excellent and very much to our tastes. along with rice and garlic bread is was a very special meal. And to top it all the price was so low we had to look twice. Suffice to say the waiter got a very good tip.

On our trip to London we went to this restaurant (actually we were going to Saravanaa Bhavan but got attracted by its Jazzy name) and order few things which we loved (especially my parents as they were missing Indian food).We visited this restro for all 3 days of stay and have tried - Manchurian, noodle, pav bhaji, chole bhature, masala dosa, uttapam, chili paneer, daal makhni, dal tadka, jira rice, kadai paneer and found everything delicious (more than you expect to get after a tiring trip).Dosa is definitely worth a try and the chutneys are mouth watering. The staff was very polite, attentive and very helpful. The environment was good too and guess what bill was not high for 4 people. Its definitely worth a try especially for Veggies and i will recommend to all my friends who are on family trip and want to try Indian food.

Not happy with dosa ordered, it's not hot and advertised 2.4£ and in the menu charging for 5.4£ for masala dosa. Hospitality is not good for single dosa customer and multiple order customer.

This place is a complete Vegetarian restaurant and the good is very good and very hygienic. The staff do look a little confused and overwhelmed by the crowd coming in. A very nice place for a good meal with friends and family. Hope they bring their buffet back which was huge value for money.

The service was very good too .. the staff had a smiling and welcoming demeanour ... one of the very few restaurants I have seen in UK that keeps a water jug without asking which definitely scores brownie points in service ... overall great food great service

We had promised a friend we would visit Ealing road Alperton.Having walked full length of the road we came across this restaurant. Inside was clean and tidy and cool on this very hot day.We ordered masala dosa’s and jug of passion fruit juice. The masala dosa were spicy and crispy, the dips were just as good and passion fruit juice was refreshing.We also tried mini idli , this idli’s were soft and melt in your mouth.Overall we enjoyed everything and hope to visit again next time we are in the area.
