Order regular but this time Food was cold the pickle tray was not correct orderd 1 mild curry for the young lad both chicken hydrobadi was the same mild plus also all the food was cold, the dog enjoyed it and thats abowt all, rang the shop no offer of refund just let the cheff no after eating out there for over 2 years and having take owts very disappointing sorry for the bad review but will not eat out here again

Like anyone else, I like to have a takeaway on occasion and I have to say, masala is my most favourite. If I was asked where I wanted to go for a birthday meal, I would always say, masala. I always enjoy my food and the staff are very friendly. If anyone in Donnie or nearby hasn’t been here but likes an Indian/curry, I strongly recommend masala.

Wouldn’t honour a charity voucher!!! Tried to order a £50 meal and voucher would have taken £9 off. Said they have changed hands since voucher issued. Rubbish!!!

I visited Masala tonight with my daughter and best friend. They traveled over 70 miles between them to enjoy a wonderful meal; the best Indian restaurant in Doncaster I believe. As always the staff were super friendly and very attentive. Looking forward to our next visit !!

We have always been Aagrah fans but as they are currently shut, we looked elsewhere. We have used Masala twice for takeaways - it arrived within the hour, hot, and excellent quality and portion size. Lamb was very tender. (As good, if not better than the old Aagrah). Even the cat enjoyed a bit of curry. We will certainly use them again.

After a previous bad experience with a takeaway, we recently went back to Masala, as we heard the management was new. I’ve got to say glad we did, the meal was excellent. 5 of us sat down in the restaurant and both the food and service was very good. We ordered mixed starter, Chicken Makhani, Balti, Masala, rice and Nan breads. The portions were generous and freshly cooked. We will be back again in the future.

Waited an hour and ten minutes before I had to call them back, then it took another 20 minutes, chips where hard and cold, chicken vindaloo was cold and chicken was rubbery, one of the worst indians I've had, most of it went in the bin, will not be ordering from there ever again

This is my go-to place if I fancy a curry. You can eat in or take out. If you decide to eat in you can take your own booze with you. I have eaten inn before but as a rule we order to take away. They have loads of lovely curry to choose from and the food is always piping hot when you get it home.

A small and cosy little restaurant with excellent food and friendly staff. Fairly priced and BYOB. Highly recommended.

Sorry guys. When you took over masala a few months back I was impressed. You went back to doing things Jay style (Jay was head chef at masala 7 years back) and I was happy that you’d rescued masala. Unfortunately that didn’t last long. My last three orders have been very Pataks which I can buy in the supermarket. To add to the misery, todays order has what I thought was glass in it (turned out to be a molten sugar cube). I’d eaten hardly any before discovering it nearly breaking my tooth. Who knows how many more there are as I haven’t eaten any more. I’ve commented on masala for a lot of years, giving high praise where it was due and letting masala know when they were getting it wrong. Ask old Abdul or Jay (you know them). Some of your recent Google comments have been good and it’s no surprise because when you took over it was good but anyone thinking of trying them now, don’t be fooled the older photos, they are nothing like what I’ve received lately. One comment is that the reviewer had eaten all over the world and that yours was the best. That was true for me at one time (Jay time) and a comment I left before old masala struggled recently. It’s up to you guys to turn it around but if you don’t, check back on these comments in 12 months when you are wondering why it’s failing. This is Doncaster. £15 for a curry, rice and naan isn’t cheap. Especially if it’s no better than my non Indian missus can make at home. The people will vote with their feet.

Called in for the first time for my birthday and all I can say is WOW. I've eaten Indian food all over the world and this place serves some of the best I've had. The guy who served us couldn't do enough for us right down to catering for my partner's dietary needs. Masala really is a hidden gem. Highly recommended and we will be back for sure. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Last night was the first time I went masala and I really enjoyed the meal I had. From the starters to the mains. It's also bring you own booze which I actually prefer. Some restaurants don't always have your favourite beer in, so you'll be sorted by taking your own in.

Went for a birthday meal and quite a large group. The restaurant is quite small but tje food was excellent and the staff could do enough to help. All in all a good experience and a very reasonable price.

Pity it's so small dining area, made it noisy but the food and staff were very good 👍

Visited on a Sunday night for the banquet option - for £12.95 you can have a poppadoms and pickle tray, starter, main course and rice or naan bread. You can pick anything thing from the menu, it’s not a limited deal which was great! The food was fantastic and we had a great time. They only serve soft drinks but you can take your own alcohol in and they will provide glasses for you. It is very small so I would recommend booking a table, or you can order and collect. The banquet option is also available on a weds. Parking available on the street.

We've ordered 4/5 times for delivery,always on a evening on busy days. I really can't fault the food, reasonably priced and it's always come on time and hot and I live in Arksey, so they have to contend with the crossing.

Worst food and over priced rubbish. Chicken starter was off, smelled foul and rotten. Tasteless. For the amount they charged, the food should be the best Indian in town but damn I have never had such a bad food. We also requested for cutlery and non was supplied. The only positive was the quick delivery. Vindaloo was not supplied with rice only the Biryani had rice rice. Overall….poor. Save your money and go to another restaurant. UberEats Order D9B37

Had meal delivered .... Had king prawn masala... Full shell n legs on all prawns....never seen prawns served this way when covered in thick sauce...rang to complain...told "tough...that's how it's served"....so payed 42 quid for a meal and treat like this... 1st and last time for us ...

My friend ordered for us both, we had the same...chicken tikka korma...Never in my life have I had to eat a curry with a spoon!! The sauce was so thin..I actually googled and this place online has a 2 star rating 😳!!

One of those restaurants that believe it correct to simply dice pre-cooked chicken and then just put those cubes in whichever sauce the customers buy... Thus the chicken is left almost tasteless having not been infused with the spices cooked in the sauces themselves.... It has to be said that the sauces themselves, whilst a little bland, had promise. Full restaurant prices at well below par quality.

Good take away service, fast delivery, nice starter, rice and nan but too much oil in my madras, saturated and spoilt. Was pooling at the side of my plate. Not for me.

Fantastic food, very good value for money

Overall It's a decent curry. Problem with takeaway Curry's is that all dishes are very similar. Here the dishes are different and each offer something different. Good sauce, good amount of chicken and good taste. Also it's not swimming in oil! The coconut based mild Curry's are poor so I would avoid these. You can sit in the restaurant and take your own alcohol too. Restaurant is small but ok inside. Staff are friendly.

Ordered a meal for 7 people, it arrived on time, also all dishes was correct, we all had a great takeaway and cannot fault it.

I was so excited that we were having a takeaway tonight but expectations soon dashed. The pickle tray is just odd and not very interesting at all although the poppadoms were ok, we also had onion bhajee which were were so dry and overcooked you couldn't cut them with a knife! The main course when I opened my chicken passanda looked like old dish water the rice was just a clump and awful and the keema naan was like cardboard with a slight scraping of lamb inside. The whole experience was so disappointing and a complete waste of money. Will never ever go back!!

We've been to Masala many times over the past 4 years, usually on a Sunday for the banquet deal. We have never had a bad experience and we have always enjoyed our food. We've brought many friends along with us too and they also thought the food was excellent. Staff have always been friendly and attentive. The banquet deal on a Sunday and a Wednesday is excellent value and we would highly recommend!

visited today for a takeaway with my husband and son.I ordered a chicken tikka masala and asked the server was it spicy if so could I not have spicy as my son will not eat it (Else were we have had masala before and it has not been spicy at all)I also asked if it had veg in the curry and he said no-I got home to find that the chicken tikka was so spicy I could not even eat it,And also full of veg ie onions lumps of tomatoes(So my son was not impressed that ruined his meal)I myself had a chicken tikka started witch was expecting a chicken tikka started and all I got was dry chicken no tikka at all.My husband had a korma witch was cold and chicken not cooked very hard.We ordered plain rice and we got some sort of a special rice.Overall our naans was the best witch in the end that’s all we ate costing us nearly £65.00 quid...First time visiting will not be returning.Bad atmosphere soon as we walked in was not welcomed what so ever,and we have heard so much good about this place.But will not be visiting again!!!!

Although only small Masala serves excellent food. On our last visit our meal was even better than normal. We had minty lamb bhuna, garlic meat balti with special rice and garlic naan, all hot, generous portions, well cooked and delicious. Staff are always obliging and friendly, definitely my favourite Indian restaurant in Doncaster.

Me and my lovely wife Lynne went for her birthday. What a fantastic night we had. Went on a Wednesday night £10 for a three course. This offer is also on Sundays as well. And a bonus if you drink alcohol you can take your own drinks. The staff are also very helpful and polite. Would definitely recommend

Wel our first impression of going in and rudely being told " your seating there" pointing. We sat down and there was a very dirty table cloth like someone had used it as a napkin to wipe the curry from their faces, we then ordered our starters as it was brought to the tables the waiter knocked our drink, after stood there and looked at the puddle of dr pepper In middle of table he then went and replaced it free of charge but left the puddle to soak into the already stained table cloth. We then ate our food we was waiting on someone to come give us the bill I notice that they had a curry house pet that had made himself at home above the door. No one had still been over with bill after 15 minutes so we got up and asked for it and they wasnt rushed off there feet.

Went on banquet night Wednesday Meal good value and tasty the waiter was attentive and good Only problem after ringing me up about a hour before to confirm numbers and time @7.30 then re-rung me @6.45 to ask if l'd like to put meal time forward half an hour to 8pm no doubt someone else wanted to be fitted in for a meal .Not good, anyway l refused as 2 of my party are diabetic. You need a bigger place Masala !!

Check what your charged. Ordered a meal for delivery, the menus state free delivery in Bentley. Masala added £1 delivery. Had the same meal last week and wasn't charged for delivery. I know its only a quid but think of how many meals are delivered in the alleged free delivery areas.

This is a tiny indian restaurant and takeaway which has really authentic and tasty indian food . I would highly recommend the banquet menu which is available on a Wednesday and Sun day night . This consists of a 3 course menu for 9.99 per person . Great quality food and value for money.

Had a £9.95 sunday night meal deal with my husband. Popadoms and pickle tray, Starter, main course with rice or naan and a side to share. Never been before. You take in your own alcholic drinks. It is very busy in the resturant, deliveries and takeaways which says it all. The food was amazing. Very tasty. Wont be long before we return. What a jem of a place. Staff really friendly and welcoming.

We went here with family in February for a birthday meal. We were quite a large party but had eaten here before and found it lovely. On this occasion they had given us two tables rather than 1, which was a surprise because previously we had been given 1 table. It was quite disconcerting being split into two tables and having our backs to half the group. Despite having our order before hand the food took ages to arrive. They had previously provided us with complimentary Poppadoms, which we had assumed they had done on this occasion too as none of us ordered them. Alas no they whacked on a £20 unexpected charge at the end of the meal. We simply paid then left, but then back at home realised they had charged us twice for other meals too. In all we were about £50 out of pocket because the staff clearly couldn’t add up and manage a large party. On this occasion I had ordered a lamb bhuna which I’m sad to say was very fatty and grissly. In all we were extremely disappointed and will not be returning.

Had a tasty takeaway from masala when e first moved to Doncaster. Best out of 3 we have tried in the area. Little bit pricey but worth it. Can't wait to try their Sunday night buffet!

We decided to give this place a try after reading some excellent reviews, on first impressions it looks like a takeaway shop but once inside we were pleasantly surprised! The food certainly lived up expectations with very generous portions, the chicken silsila dish was amazing in particular! It’s bring your own alcohol too which was a first for us at a restaurant but not a problem as we came prepared.

We come here at least twice a month and the food is always top notch. We’ve had various dishes and all of them tasty and spicy without being too hot. If I had to criticise one thing it would be the onions in the pickle tray which are served with a tomato sauce, think it would be much better with a hint of mint sauce instead.

i have used masala for years now ever since it first opened for both takeaway and restaurant, it is absolutely fab! the staff are second to none always willing to go that extra mile to make the visit extra special, the food is exceptional and amazing value for money especially the banquet offer that they have only £9.95 and you truly get a feast i can never finish it all, i have never once had a bad experience at this restaurant and will continue to be one of my favourite places to eat! good job masala keep up the good work!

The atmosphere in this place is cold and very unfriendly from the minute you walk in.. we decided however to stay and try as the reviews on TripAdvisor for here are great! We ordered a pickle tray and 2 popadoms each, OMG the onion pickle dish was mixed with cheap tomato ketchup it was absolutely horrible! We had already ordered our two mains when these came I wasn’t expecting much after the poor pickle tray for appetiser, but it was worse than I imagined. I ordered a chicken dopiza and it was that oily I was unable to eat it (the photo doesn’t show the true amount of oil in the curry) the garlic nan we ordered was pretty impressive when it first arrived however there was a lovely black hair in the middle which soon put me off! Me and partner go out for a curry once a week and this is by far the worst place I have ever been, don’t waste your time or money at this place! I can only think the good reviews for this place reflect the standard of the local area. For a nice enjoyable curry with take your own beer head to Shimla in Armthorpe!!

Excellent service, fantastic food. Very small restaurant but the food was outstanding Went for the first time after being recommended by family. Bring your own alcohol, soft drinks can be bought there. The food was amazing. Had 3 massive naan breads,2 portions of rice, 2 sides, a starter and 5 main meals for under £50 on a Sunday special. Can’t recommend it enough. Will be going again

Friendly service and lovely food well worth the money

It's a tiny place, so book in advance, and some people say it doesn't look appealing from the outside, but that didn't bother me. The food and service was A-1. From the starters to the mains, every thing was excellent. Friendly staff and the service was great. The only complaint i have would be that when it's full in the restaurant, it's noisy...lol but i guess that is everyone having a good time. :D

Spontaneous visit with friends and we were not disappointed. Having heard good things we were eager to try this restaurant! The food was so tasty, I had chicken passanda and my mum had the chiken tikka masala, both dishes were delicious! The price was excellent...
