Balti palace in Doncaster

Ordered £32 worth of food that came with no freebies. I’m not being cheap but some poppadoms wouldn’t go a miss. You can order same food from indus for £25 and they give you poppadoms pickle tray and chips free. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Ordered a take away £100 worth 1 curry was wrong we phoned to explain and they told us we were lying and refused to help or sort. So disgraceful would never recommend please don’t order if u want any customer service. Shocking

Our first time here tonight , and it won’t be our last. Had a delicious meal , the food was outstanding . The staff were very polite and helpful. Lovely decor . We weren’t rushed , a nice and relaxing evening with good friends. I would recommend the Balti Palace , to everyone.

Can’t get enough of the food at Balti Palace. Always consistently great favour and freshly cooked to order. The service is always great and we always revive a warm welcome from Hussein when we arrive. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. The meal deal is great value too.

Ordered from here a few times and found the food really good, Ordered over a 100£ of food for a few of us a couple of weeks ago, Ordered last week and the food was TERRIBLE! Thats why 2 stars , the driver forgot poppadoms so gave us the money but then we had a pickle tray that we couldn't have as we had no poppadoms, called and complained and the person who answered said the manager would give me a CALL. Haven't heard a thing, I won't order from there again if this is how a regular customer is treated 😡

We came here for an (early) evening meal and it was lovely. We only wanted a "light bite" and we received excellent service. The meal was exquisite. The ambience was nice, relaxed and quiet - it was quite early in the evening and it was a Monday. There is a "deal" option, however this does not (currently) operate on a Monday. Dishes can be tweaked (eg hotter/milder etc) to suit your personal requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and plan to return.

I am vegan, and if I'm visiting a restaurant for the first time, I ring ahead and ask if they can cater for me. I have visited Balti Palace many times and they've catered for me without issue, so I did not call. Yesterday, I arrived with a group of non vegan friends, and had the "vegan" discussion with a guy who worked behind the bar. His first language isn't English, so he told me the chicken tikka was suitable 😂 So I smiled and spoke with one of the wait staff, he had no problem understanding, however he told me there is nothing they can make which is vegan. I said, I just want something simple and assured him I'm easily pleased, just could they just use fresh veg oil when frying, for example. He said words to the effect of "if you can't have animal products, you can't eat here as there's no guarantees" I explained I know there's no guarantees, but as long as it's cleaned down and no deliberate animal products, that'd be good enough. He stormed off and said he would speak to the kitchen. Came back and said they'd make me something. Didn't tell me what, fair enough, I had told him I was easily pleased. For starter the veg pakora came and, other than being a little burned it was nice. I asked if they could make me a Chapatti out of just plain flour and water to go with my curry came which was tasty. They brought pilau rice with my friends dishes, and I asked the waiter if I could have it, he said yes, I asked if there was any butter in it and he very aggressively said "yes, there's no guarantees, butter comes from cow". So I asked him for boiled rice. I know a lot of people dislike vegans, so I try to be super nice when things go wrong, and in fairness, they're usually an accident when they do. So I asked my friends if I'd come across as rude to this guy and they assured me I'd been nothing but lovely to him. This wasn't a "me" problem. There is a sign that says something like "if you have allergies, please tell the wait staff". I think its missing something it should say "and we'll tell you to bugger off" at the end 😂 It was anxiety/rage inducing. And sadly, despite having visited a number of times before, I will not go back.

Third time I have visited and always had good meals.Celebrating my parents birthday Staff are brilliant and very attentive.Hussein behind the bar is a lovely bloke and can't do enough for you❤️ 5 stars from me we will definitely be coming back.

Excellent Christmas meal we have been coming for the Christmas dinner since the restaurant opened in 2008 never disappointed us the meal and service has all ways been excellent we always come for the first sitting at 12 it’s the best time to have a meal on a Christmas Day i will definitely recommend this place.

Booked for Christmas Day. Waited 2 hours to be sat and then still waited to take order. Ended up walking out. Thank you for spoiling my Christmas Day. Worst customer service ever! Do not go here

First time eating here with my partner Charmaine and the meal deal was absolutely fantastic and flavoursome aswell as excellent value for the price paid. Will definitely be coming again and the owner Hussain was very pleasant and because of the time there we will be telling our friends and family to go.

Not one to post reviews usually but about time I write one for this restaurant after another lovely evening at Balti Palace. Food exceptional, bursting with flavour and all very fairly priced with good portion sizes. Restaurant itself has nice relaxed vibes and Hussain and his team are attentive and offer a warm friendly welcome. Highly recommend 👌

We go to the Balti Palace for a meal or a takeaway regularly. The food is always delicious and the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Hussain is always smiling and welcoming.... we love eating here. Team Balti Palace every time!❤️💖

I went to the Baldi Restaurant today they didn’t greed the customers very well and their service is very bad and he didn’t make sure our order and bring the wrong order they took more than one hour to bring our food and their portion is too small it’s not worth it for that money. We had a really bad experience. Also they serve the food and they didn’t give us a plate we need to asked for the plate also it is not busy day today only three table with the customer. Very poor service.

I visit today the staff forgot what we order and he missed our order and he didn’t apologise for this and he said you didn’t order that one and then we go to the till to pay he charged me extra, I saw the receipt and I asked why did you charge but he didn’t say anything it was very bad experience that we had today I never going to visit again and I think they are charging the customer every time more so please guys check the receipt when you go for pay

We did this across 2 sittings and everything was very smooth - the staff were readily available to help, flexible to changes, and provided service with a smile. Special shout out to Hussain and Babu - they made everyone feel welcome!

We decided to book to come here for our tea, as I am celiac we had to choose a suitable restaurant. Once we had booked a table, I went onto the online menu to find what I could eat that is gluten free, the menu just said to speak to a member of staff on arrival, when it came to ordering food, I asked the waiter is the Pakoras we’re gluten free, which he said yes, and then I asked if they were made from cornflour or wheat flour, he said cornflour first, so then I asked again if it was definitely corn flour and he turned round and said ‘no, wheat flour’ so I said ‘is it gluten free’ he said ‘no’. Then he proceeds to tell me that the onion bhajis are gluten free and fine for me to eat, so I ordered them, trusting his words, I ordered tandoori chicken tikka as my main and that was it. Once I had ate most of my meal my stomach was in agony, which means it was clearly NOT GLUTEN FREE. I was glutened and I was in absolute agony, extremely painful, we had to leave early due to my stomach and on the way out my partner said to them that this was clearly not gluten free and they did not care. I am very disappointed as they clearly just make things up just to get a sale out of you. They must not care about the health of their customers or the consequences of giving their customers the wrong food. I will NOT be coming here again.

Excellent food as always, the staff are always happy to see you. Hussein is a credit to this restaurant, I took my mum for the first time and she loved her meal. She'll be making a return trip, this place never lets us down on taste, service and value for money

Really enjoyed the meal. Poppadoms and Pickles, followed by mixed starter with lamb sheek onion bhajis, Chicken Pekora and Tandoori Chicken. Chicken Jalfrezi and Garlic Rice. Very tasty.

Went here for my sons 10th birthday as he chose this place his self he was well impressed and so was we with the staff and atmosphere and food especially Hussain that served us and showed special attention to my son as it was his birthday he said this place is awsome

Never a bad meal here, the food is to die for and full of flavour. The quality of the food is always good, the service is always spot on. They are always happy to see you when you walk in. We visit the Balti palace regularly as we can't find a better place for a good curry.

We usually enjoy a balti with garlic naan. We ordered starters of samosa and onion Bhaji, then we had the prawn balti with garlic naan. Very disappointed. The balti was bland and basically a sauce with a few prawns thrown in, the naan was soggy. Edible but nothing at all outstanding I’m afraid.

Loved eating here, only thing that spoiled it slightly was other guests having no respect for other guests by letting their kids run riot felt sorry for waiters having to dodge kids running everywhere while trying to serve food and beverages.

Avoid like the plague, absolute shocking customer service got my order completely wrong and when I phoned up to rectify they laughed down the phone at me!! Offered nothing to send missing items what I ordered and said it was my fault! The food what did turn up was wrong ordered 1 jalfrezi and 1 chicken Tikka madra and I don't even know what I received! Again I tried to explain to them that it was wrong and they then started shouting down phone at me!!! Disgusting place and the people who work there should be ashamed!!! Avoid this place nothing but con men when I asked for a refund they basically started getting angry and laughed at me!! Shocking place and I will be taking this further!!

Service was very slow, waited 1 hour from poppadoms to mains. Asked for extra nann bread when food had been served and it was like I wanted it for free. Felt like we were bothering them and it was too much trouble. Food was ok but nothing extra special. Reasonable prices. Although I would rather pay double and have decent service than someone that doesn't like their job.

Never been before thought we would try the special offer nights £12.95 for a five course meal There was a few people in there on arrival but because i had booked on line we had a table waiting. Had a few drinks to start with and not badly priced £3.95 for s beer. Im not going to go on all im going to say is the staff were lovely and the food was mint (excellent) and i couldn't move afterwards and yes we will be going back excellent value for money 👍

We have been going here for quite a few years regular.. what can I say visited last month February meat flies In the restaurant. Put me off straight away. Food gone down hill. Scrapped cars taking over the car park. Scruffy looking staff smoking in car park. Sorry guys you used to be our favourite. Won't be visiting any more.

Me and my partner have just been for an evening meal & was the first time eating at Balti Palace. We were both highly impressed with our meals. The food was so nice & definitely value for money. The staff were attentive even though we could see how busy they were. When paying for our bill Hussain couldn't apologise enough he clearly didn't think the service was up to standard but in all honesty I couldn't see any problem in the service at all. We will 100% return in the near future as we enjoyed every part of the evening. Thank you to the Balti Palace team 😊

First time visiting here in a very long time. We had the 5 course special offer and we were absolutely stuffed. Worth every penny and delicious. Best chicken pakora starter I've ever had they were enormous.

Visited in December. Service was good. Ambience good & a few people in. Hade the special whereby you get poppadum's, starter, main course then choice if naan/rice £15. So the food was quite good and extensive choice. It tasted good and the sauce in particular quite thick plus not just chicken and sauce. Both my colleague and I enjoyed the occasion- however the chicken was on the dry side if we were being critical like we normally are!

Been going the Balti Palace over the other Indian restaurant in the local area as the food is better. It’s the second time we have booked a table for NYE and I booked it for 1900hrs, as I can’t eat late. However, tonight’s experience was the worse ever. From entering the restaurant to being served our main meal was over an hour and half. Took them 20 minutes initially to come and take our order and from the starters (which were just popadoms and pickle tray which is already prepared) to the main course was terrible. I asked on a few occasions where our meals were and was abruptly told ‘it will be out in a minute’., …..which it obviously it wasn’t. When it did eventually come out, 2040hrs it came out in dribs n drabs. When they bought the last bowl of rice out the other parts were almost cold. It’s as though they had either lost our order or concentrated on the ‘Just Eat’ orders over those who were eating in. Shame really as the food tastes nice and flavoursome. Might be a while before we all go back again if there going to continue to put the diners further down the service ladder. Poor service all around.

staff were pretty unpleasant on occasions, felt like we were bothering them sometimes. paid just shy of £35 for a korma, veggie balti, chapattis, naan, onion bhajis and rice. barely even managed to eat half of it, and my partner couldnt have a single mouthful of his. waiting time was a bit long for food that tasted like it had been reheated and/or wasnt cooked for long enough. the one star is solely for the bhajis since they were the only thing that tasted pretty decent. was made to sit and wait in a holding area whilst the staff continuously looked over at us, and because my partner and i are queer this made us feel particularly uncomfortable simce we both noticed this happening and made us feel rather awkward. plus, if youre after eating somewhere with a bright atmosphere and good vibe, we probably wouldnt suggest this place unless you enjoy staring at blank grey walls whilst sat of rickety chairs and overhearing almost every single conversation arounf you. plus we were made to feel welcome whatsoever and were basically just sat down for them to take money out of our wallets. definitely a lot better places to go for an indian rather than here, and pretty unfortunate that there was no sympathy when we explained our experience to them. pretty saddening if you ask me. on our way to get a maccas, at least we know it will taste fairly decent and wont make us feel poorly.

We had to leave before finishing our meal, the rowdy behaviour of some of the other diners was just too much for us. Pity really, the food and staff were very good,;but a large party of screaming children and women, accompanying rowdy behaviour by the men, we couldnt enjoy the excellent food, we left half of our main course and drinks an didnt stay for the desert. The staff were apologetic but I suppose losing 2 customers in favour of a large rowdy party makes business sense. Sadly I dont feel we shall be going there again, the food, the staff, the aircon, everything excellent except the rowdies.
