Placed the order for delivery and it turned up on time, but the food was stone cold. Not very impressed

The Cod was lovely, big white flakes of fish, very tasty and the batter nice and crunchy 👍🏻 can't rate the atmosphere; it's a chip shop with no seating.

They are never open is a shame because so many times we have wanted to get fish and chips but their closed always. They should go under new management coz this is not good.

Had a delicious meal comprising of two freshly made fishcakes and small chilps for only £550!

Dad ordered haddock and chips and me a large chips but when we got home, Dad got a surprise and he got fish cake instead of the haddock, and he paid for the price of a pice of haddock and chips, well the chips I had were just adequate. Will not be returning to Mart’t Fish & Chip shop in the future

Great food, gluten free fish and chips that are just as good as the normal ones.

Hit and miss, really, but not bad. It was quite expensive, almost £5 for a large bag of chips.

Checked it out for fish and chips to go. Lady helping was nice. Ordered large fish (cod) and chips. It was very good and tasted fresh. The chips were nice. Prices were very reasonable. Plenty of parking in the back. Overall it’s a great place for a quick meal. Worth checking out.

Bedt chippy ever, I never go to any other

The fish is good from here but the chips are usually disappointing - not the nicest flavour and a bit soggy / underdone. Decent portion sizes though. They used to sell fried black pudding which was really good but unfortunately they stopped selling it a few years ago.

Was expecting much better!! Not sure if it was an off day, thought I'd try this place as I've tried most others around Farnborough. Overall was just OK, portion sizes were in general fine for the price, nothing to rave about but also not disappointed. My large cod had skin on (my fault I should have asked before ordering) but the fish wasn't freshly cooked to order. It was not steaming hot and slightly dry and I saw about 3-4 fishes sat in the warmer for the good 8 or so minutes i was there. Batter had a little crisp to it but bland. Chips, we're pretty average, bit soggy and not what I would consider proper chip shop size chips. Curry sauce too watery. The battered sausage and chicken nuggets were freshly fried and were actually the highlight, given an extra star for them alone. I will give Mart's another try and hope for better. The lady at the counter was lovely, very friendly. Also the place has a nice traditional fish and chip shop feel about it. Mart's I hope my next visit will be better!!

Chips were brilliant but unfortunately our saveloys were hard and dry. They were so bad that I had to take them back and bang them on the counter whilst I complained. They reimbursed me but the lady suggested that it was my taste at fault and not the product( as they sell so many of them). I am 51 years old and I've eaten saveloy and chips up and down the country hundreds possibly thousands of times and this was the driest, most dessicated saveloy I've ever tried to eat. It was so completely bereft of any moisture that it was inedible.

Good portions yes I agree but I don’t like the chips there were not good I had a batted sausage the batter was soft not crisp lovely lady who served me but to the best fish and chip shop is in frimley high street Kim’s in my opinion

Cant lie, bloody lovely. Portion size was really good, good meaty fish, crisp batter, proper chippy curry sauce and gravy. Young lady behind the counter was really welcoming, friendly, chatty with a sense of humour. First time using the place and will again. Fully recommended 👌

I visited your shop today 09.12.2021 at approx 18.20 I ordered pasty and chips What a let down for £4.50 The pasty was full of dried gravy No meat potatoes etc An absolute rip off !!

Haddock was dry and batter soggy, chips were tasteless and so hard in places that I nearly broke my tooth!

Marts Fish and Chips is great for us as its local and does Gluten Free 6 days a week. Very fairly priced and the food is decent.

First I’ve here must admit the food was hot the chips we’re good how ever so was the sausages but I think there cooked with the chips or the fish as when I took them out the paper they we’re covered in bits of batter these were normal sausages but i would go back the one other things the staff didn’t were a mask

Fish n Chips the way they used to be!. Good portion sizes without being ridiculous!...good ingredients, not greasy and cooked to perfection. The pre-order system works well and delivery was on time & very courteous. Would definitely recommend and be using in the future.

Discovered this place by chance. Usually we seek out the best places for chips. Having moved away area from some of the UK’s top rated chip shops and hard pressed to find another... I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Second visit in a month. Friendly staff. Decent menu. Happy with the food. Reasonably priced.

First time ordering.sorry to say it will be the last . The fish was covered in batter better described as shoe leather.chips in a ball and greasy. My partner said the saveloy was tough and was the worst he had ever tasted. I cannot believe that on just eat they have such a good score.

Our local chippy. Friendly staff. Nice food and they make me a fresh skinless fish. Parking can be a bit tricky but I park up in Tesco Express and buy some bubbly for my chippy tea. Yum! :-)

Used Mart's for decades,but now terrible. Black bits on chips, fish skin burn. Needs separate fryers.

I am always willing to give positive feedback and try again once more in the future. But the chips were awful today, you either need to change your oil or cook the chips longer. They were bland and as stodgy as ever. I hope to see a change otherwise I will unfortunately not be coming back and I love supporting local businesses 😕🙂

Haddock was okay, but chips weren't really brilliant. No salt, despite asking for it. Lovely owner, but the chippy was quite busy.

I first tried Marts 13 years ago. Back then there was black bits on the Chips. I thought I'd give it another try today and guess what.... Yes still has black bits! I don't think they clean their fryers properly. Why doesn't any other chip shop have black bits in their chips? Won't be going back.

Ordered gluten free fish and chips over the phone and it was ready and waiting when I arrived to collect. Very friendly staff.

Great fish and chips. Me and my partner always went to other chip shops in the centre of farnborough, but no more! The customer service is so much better here than other places, and the fish and chips are great. Will always reccomend!

We were recommended Marts and were pleased with the speed. However tonight we found a blond hair in the meal and was unable to eat it.

Last two times chips have been awful, first time they were gritty, after mentioning this chips were again awful, must have been reheated, some were rock hard, have since purchased a small piece of cod £4.80, batter awful, will not be using again.

Smallest portions of chips for the price. Taste awful. Any chip shop does a cup of curry sauce for about a pound. You get the smallest curry sauce for a quid and its like water. Will not be going back will stick to golden house over the road for fish and chips 😐

Lovely chips from Marts Fish and Chip Shop, jumbo sausage is great too. Staff in the shop are so friendly and very happy whenever I go in here. Enjoy the food from here and will be back soon

Chips tasted burnt and... really weird honestly can’t explain the taste 🤷🏼‍♀️?!? we have been here a couple of times and have charged us twice over the amount our meal actually cost.... It Caused an upset evening between myself and my partner.

My Husband ordered small cod and chips for me this evening... turns out I was given something extremely smelly, pink in colour and totally inedible and hard, uncooked chips. I have tried to phone for a refund but nobody answered. Not impressed.

Best way to describe the food at this "chip shop" only thing cooked close to order are the chips, over cooked batter borderline burnt, if your expecting flakey bits of fish lower your hopes best way to put it is mush in over cooked batter and this brings me on to the chips, undercooked and tastes like dirty oil/fat the 1 star would only be for the staff who are friendly and professional, Don't be fooled by the 5 rating on the door that's only for highgene certainly not for the food most definitely would not go back or recommend.

Chips like uncooked slices of potato savaloy taste raw and the burger looked like was cooked for my children not happy one bit woman behind the counter more concerned with her Christmas card list then serving me I should have known from there to go else where what a waste of money!

Ordered 1 large cod and 1small cod. They both were cold. They don't cook the fish at order it's already pre cooked. Very disappointed at the quality of food. Will not recommend them.

We had our Harvest supper at the Methodist Church in cove and aske Marts to supply fish and chips for the evening he supplied good hot food on time exactly what we needed. so all in all a very good service and 37 happy customers

I find the fish and chips average. Fish has skin on, rather thin so a bit dry after cooking. I've tried it several times and the last time a few days ago as I didn't have time to go elsewhere. My opinion is still the same.

I am from the north coast and have very high expectations when it comes to my fish and chips. I've tried alot of Chip shops around the area and I've found that no one comes close.

That Mart's has been here for well-over twenty years speaks volumes... it's a family-run business that serves good quality fish and chips... and mushy peas too, for us escaped Northerners. And something that can only be applauded, they have gluten-free options (except for Friday) - but recommend you phone to order as it's (obviously) cooked specially, using a separate fryer.

This is a great place to get takeaway food the people are great and the food is amazing I have got my food from here for years and they have a great range of food and drink that tastes great....I wold recommend this place to buy takeaway food and drink ❤️

Got three fish and chip suppers from the Establishment and they were awful,tasted as if they were leftover from the lunch time,will not return.

Overall very nice people and the food is great!

I like the food from Mart's and the people always seem nice and the portion sizes are good and prices reasonable, but my one complaint is that the place never seems to be open when i go there, making the place very hit and miss... you just can't rely on it ever being open and running, which is not good, its all very inconsistent... A shame, because like i say, everything else is great.

Consistently good quality and generous portions (large chips is enough for two as part of a meal).
