Another Fantastik Purchase tonight at Coves Fish and chips 2xlarge haddocks, 1 small Chips, 1 Batter Sausage 1 Batter Spam All came to £19.50 My God that small Chips was a biig Portion for a Small…. Not complaining though… And everything tasted so so Good… The batter they coat everything with, Has a very nice texture to it and taste… And the Final Fry and served was just fantastik… That aroma that came out from the wrapping paper when i drove it home… Wowwwiiii…. That was A GOOD SMELL😎😎👌👌 I will be coming and coming and coming again…. To this wonderful fish Shop… Thank you so much for the lovely Fry tonight Cove fish and Chips… You are still the undisputed top of my 3 most favourites fish n’chippy, Cheers for your Service

A massive improvement in quality recently from here. The fish is now cooked freshly to order, the chips are crisp and well cooked, and neither the fish or the chips are overly greasy. The batter is a little thick but is fairly crisp. Cod, small chips and mushy peas cost £9.80 which is cheaper than most these days and the portion sizes are large.

Chips were nice and fresh not greasey. Vege burger was delicious....however if I go by myself the chip portions are small. If I go with my wife and daughter the portions are bigger!? Maybe it's just my face they don't like 🤔 lol🤣 regardless good Friday food 👍

Great service and good value for money and food is excellent we use it about twice a month and never ever had a bad meal from them.

Having eaten from here before and not enjoyed the food, against my better judgement I though I’d give this place one more try, and it was a mistake. The food was actually worse than I remembered. The fish was freshly cooked this time which gave me false hope of an improvement, but unfortunately I was to be left disappointed again. Had to be the greasiest fish I have ever been served. The batter was completely saturated, was very thick, and had broken into pieces during cooking so the oil had soaked the fish inside too rather than steaming it inside a light, sealed batter case how it should be. The chips were soggy, limp and also extremely greasy with not the nicest flavour. No complaints about the mushy peas though - they are evidently capable of microwaving those without ruining them. The portion sizes of the cod and especially the chips were very large for the price (£9.50 for cod, chips and mushy peas) but this was a definite case of quantity over quality. I wish I had gone somewhere else instead and will not be returning. I would recommend that the owners pay a visit to Silver Sea in Frimley Green for an example of how properly cooked fish and chips should be.

I love this fish shop and have been visiting it since I was a kid I no longer live in Farnborough I live 250 miles north and was in Farnborough on holiday and just had to make a visit to this 45 year old third generation family run business as always the staff were very friendly and very chatty the food as always was beautiful fresh fish and chips I was sad to see that the Chinese next door had closed down due to retirement but some of the menu is still available in the fish shop I'm hoping that this very much loved chippy survives the cost of living crisis as it would be a very sad day if it was forced to close due to rising costs I would recommend this chippy as it truly is one of the best in the local area

No stars! Soggy fish, looked and tasted like a last night's re-heat job. The paper was swimming in oil and so was the food. Very disappointing and a waste of money.

Standard have dropped over the years, never returning again felt physically ill last time I ate from here, would not recommend.

Been coming to this fish and chip shop ever since it was Wallys fish and chips in the 1970s then the On On, first time back since the mid 90s and still great service and great food.

Have been ordering fish and chips for years at this place! Always friendly and polite! Ordered a Chinese meal this evening, and was not disappointed, freshly cooked, not too oily, and very hot!. They've gone to great lengths to provide a safer transaction, from perspex windows to a second booth to pay and furthermore, a taped corner which they ask you to wait in when your food is being prepared!. Definitely by far the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Chips were old and seemed like they had been re cooked. Fish was full of dark brown grease. All in the bin now so definitely won’t be returning!

Had a large cod and chips, the fish was almost perfect just a few crunchy bits which i hate. The chips again cooked to perfection as were not overcooked. Never had a bad meal, i usually have pie but last 2 times I've gone for the healthy option of fish. Thumbs up to cove fish bar 👍👍

Called up to order some Chinese takeaway. I ordered two Chow Mein's, one chicken and House special together with a couple of pancake rolls. All were tasty and good value.

We have been going here for years but after three bad meals the last couple of times we threw it in the bin fish was over cooked and hard chips were too greasy curry changed since last time. Will never go here again.

Up until recently we had only bought fish and chips from this takeaway place. Then we thought we would try their Chinese food. We weren't expecting much but it was far better than any number of Chinese restaurants we have been to over the past few years. We will definitely go there again.

Used to use this place from time to time as we live nearby. Went a few months ago and the chap doing the cooking sneezed with great gusto over the frying chips, no attempt to turn away or at least put his hand over his face. When he notice my wife and I looking a bit shocked he just grinned. Needless to say we went elsewhere and have never returned!

Chips may well have been mashed potato. Swimming in grease and vinegar and were mush and undercooked. The batter on the sausages was over cooked and was like eating pork cracklings, and tasteless. Disappointed

Chip shops side of the business I wouldn’t touch as is probably the worse chips I’ve ever tasted (greasy) But the Chinese take away side is worth a revisit as it’s is to a very good standard. Downside Menu is very small

I like this takeaway, the Chinese food is good and it's attached to a fish and chip shop owned by the same people. Very handy if someone doesn't want one or the other. Quality is nice. Never had to wait long either. Looks clean. Lady serving in the Chinese is always pleasant and takes orders for both if you want to pay card.

Este es un buen poco para llevar que no decente comida china. El servicio es siempre rápido y buena relación calidad precio.

El personal es siempre amable! La comida se sirve siempre rápidamente! La ventaja de este lugar es que hay tanto pez y chip lateral a la tienda así como China. Por desgracia, la comida no es de lo más sabroso y es un poco grasienta. El positivo es que nunca se enferma de este lugar comparado con algunos otros tome siempre!

Having been out all day and unable to prepare dinner on time we plumped for some Chinese dishes. I rang and ordered a special and a chicken chow mein together with large pancake rolls and prawn crackers. I was told to come in ten minutes. On arrival my order was waiting for me, I paid, left, and enjoyed a hot non-greasy meal. I don't do a lot of take away's but this was well worth it.

The food is quick and the place is clean. But it's very greasy and most times tastes warmed up.Shame because good fish and chip shops are hard too find

Personally not a bad place however the chips are always understood cooked and sometimes Raw, the menu has been reduced so not a very good variety on the Chinese side..

The fish bar and Chinese takeaway counter offer a good range of meals, quickly and well prepared. The only downside is that they don't open on Sundays and it's usually a Sunday when I fancy a Chinese!

Have used a couple of times, first time the chips tasted as though they were re heated and we could not eat them, however thought we had just had a one off so tried again. On return yet again the chips were disgusting. However it is clean and the staff seemed friendly.

The food is of a good quality and the portions in terms of chips are extremely generous. The batter isn't like other chippys on the cod, but nice all the same. The only downside is that about 50% of the time it is very greasy which does ruin the meal somewhat as what is underneath is usually otherwise very nice when not caped in grease.

Fish and chips are yummy, Chinese not bad also, if a little greasy. Staff friendly enough. Shame you have to ask for salt and vinegar, rather than them offer.

I will never get food from this establishment ever again. The food was swimming in grease that soaked through the paper and there was a pool of grease in the bottom of the bag. The food was so over cooked and greasy that after one bite all 5 of us threw our food in the bin. I would strongly urge people never to use this horrible place
