Marston's - The Sarsen Stones, Farnborough in Rushmoor

Have been to a few Marstons recently and this one has to be my favourite. Food was excellent and all the waitresses were a credit to the manager . Who herself couldn’t have been more accommodating

First ever visit with friends who live nearby. Nice venue, friendly staff and some nice food. Not to different from other Marstons venues, so I would expect it to be good.

This was our second year having dinner on Christmas Day at the Sarsen Stones. As last year, the food was excellent, nicely presented and faultless, with friendly servers. Last year there was a nice, relaxed pace between courses and the drinks service was very efficient. This year didn't have that same relaxed pace between courses, and the drinks service was very slow (hence the 4-star rating).

We went here on Christmas day the same as last Christmas and it was just as good without fault. There were eight of us and everyone were pleased with what they chose and plenty of cocktails. A relaxed Christmas day and a big thank you to all who made it happen.

I booked for Xmas Day lunch as I just couldn’t be bothered to cook it myself this year & chose Sarsen’s Stone as we go there regularly & the food is always good & the service fantastic! Chrissie & her team did not disappoint & our Xmas Day lunch was the best I’ve ever had! The menu choice was great & the price very competitive. I had originally booked just for four of us, but when I realised my two elderly neighbours were on their own I rang & spoke with Chrissie to see if she could add them to our table! No problem at all she said, but wasn’t sure what choices on the Xmas menu would be available. My neighbours were delighted and in fact had full choice of everything. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff & service with a smile. It was incredibly busy, but our food arrived hot and with plenty on the plate! It was the most relaxing & most delicious Xmas Day lunch I have ever had & something I will be doing every year now! All six of us had a fab afternoon! Thank you Chrissie & your team for being so fantastic!

Friendly staff, bringing extras no trouble. Very tasty Christmas meal, great cheesecake dessert too.

Just had a Christmas meal out with friends and had a fantastic evening. The food was brilliant. Hot plates which I really appreciate. Best Yorkshire puddings. A 3 course meal for £25.99!! Amelia, our waitress, she was just perfect! Couldn't do enough for her and had the best sense of humour. Thank you for making our evening so special.

Lovely meal and our server Mandy was great, really friendly and made our experience really enjoyable.

Nice food but highlight was our waitress/server, Mandy. She was helpful, friendly, attentive and a good laugh. Highly recommended going there just for her 10/10

Had a fantastic time at the sarsons Didn’t book but was seated anyway Our waitress was a lovely young lady called Emilia Nothing was too much bother for her she was so sweet Hope she gets recognised for her good work Well deserved We will return again in a few weeks

Had a fab meal all really fresh and hot, lovely service from our waitress and Matt who greeted us and served us our drinks was exceptional ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A little underwhelming. Food was average at best. We backed onto a group of men swearing and loud voices( I now know all about their social conquests) The seating arrangements could be a lot better and the table service was ok. Nothing more to say

We had Sunday lunch here and enjoyed it very much. We had a warm welcome and all the staff were great throughout. The food was delicious and piping hot. There's an outdoor eating area with shelter and a patio heater as well as a basket of blankets and hot water bottles by the door. Very reasonable prices, we will return.

Must say this has gone up slightly since my last visit the food was actually very nice and very hot the staff were polite and helpful good value for money

This was our second visit in as many months. First visit was disappointing. This 2nd visit was totally different. All our dishes were yummers - freshly cooked and piping hot. Nice fresh salad this time. I chose the half chicken which I would recommend. Customer Service was really good. Thanks to Mandie for looking after us so well. Care was taken with distancing and all staff had face coverings. Really pleasant visit and hope to visit again soon.

Visited tonight as staying locally for work. Friendly welcome as soon as I came in the door.WiFi was made available so I could catch up quickly with emails. Gentlemen looking after my table was excellent, knew when to come over and kept that Guinness glass topped up!No faults with the food, clean plates all around.Fantastic job in trying times.Will most definitely return!!

My wife and I had our first lunch time meal here today but it wasn’t that good. I had beef burger that had been freshly cooked and was excellent. Unfortunately the rest was very poor; chips that were solid in the middle, coleslaw that was not at all fresh and very dry and onion rings that could have been anything round and tasteless. My wife’s beef was very tough and fatty and her roast potatoes (that I tried) were solid in the middle. Might not have been typical, but it was on that day!

A quick catch up for a friends birthday the menu has been reduced but had the curry selection and have to say the food has improved from the last time I ate in here it’s was a week day evening all the tables were wiped down and very clean

Chose Sarsen because my first visit here when it first opened was fabulous. This visit however was very very disappointing. It was my Daughter-in-law's Birthday, so given my first visit I thought this would be ideal for her special day. Wrong.! Two dishes we asked for was not on the lunch menu yet we were there at 12.30. Our waiter didn't know if the dish I asked for was made in house and didn't find out. My Grandaughters burger was like cardboard and my Son's wasn't much better. My mixed salad was clearly out of date - the various leaves and lettuces had black on them and were wilted. The only saving grace was the fabulous dessert my Grandaughter had. Not one member of staff wore a face covering!!!! Really?! Sarsen Stones, when you get your act together, let me know and I'll be back. Oh and you forgot about distancing :-( :-( :-(

Went with one family bubble on Saturday for my 86 birthday. Understandably the service was slow but the food was fine and we all enjoyed our meal at the discount price.The alarming situation was social distancing. There was none. Surprised to see the servers not wearing any masked. Social distancing too close .At the bar there was no facility or attempts too social distance inc bar staff.At our age very alarming.

The Sarson Stones is a really lovely modern chilled out pub, I went there with a best friend for an early dinner. We shared some halloumi bites as a starter (although they arrived with the main courses), I had the Chicken Tikka and she had the Chicken goujons burger. Both dishes looked and tasted stunning, they also do rotisserie chicken that you can see cooking from the dining area!Very reasonably priced, even if you went on a day when the Eat Out to Help Out scheme isn't running.Only slight problem was that it took a long time for the food to arrive but this is understandable as its freshly cooked to order.

We had a lovely lunch here. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. Staff friendly. The rotisserie chicken is the best and very moist and tender. There was a reduced menu on when we went but there was still plenty of choice. we will definitely be returning for the chicken.

Food average. Rather a long wait when some tables were unoccupied at lunchtime. We were given some dirty cutlery, but no apology was offered when this was pointed out.

I have visited a couple of times in parties and was impress ed enough to come back with my wife.recommended.

This restaurant is a hit everytime I attend. The staff are polite and well dressed. The food is always great and delivered hot and on time. I did get to speak with a chef as he was basting the rotisserie chicken. Sam was his name. And I asked him about the food I planned on ordering and whether amendments could be made. He asked which table inward seated at and what I wanted exactly. I told him and he said make the server aware and he will make my meal in any way I was happy to have it. After making my order with the lovely staff , Sam then came into the restaurant to tell me the order was through and double checked everything from a receipt. As soon as my food arrived again Sam asked a chef to come and check everything was correct and ask if there was anything else we needed. I didnt catch the chefs name but he was a tall young lad with dirty blonde hair. He was very polite and couldnt do enough for us. I would highly recommend everyone at the restaurant. They are always polite and they really do want you to have a good time. Not just after your money and kicking you out. After our meals were finished I asked to speak with both chefs, Sam and the tall one. They promptly came out and immediately asked if everything was okay with the food. Upon seeing our empty plates thanked us for our compliments and said goodbye to our whole family. It was really relaxing like being round your own family having dinner. I cant fault this place one bit. I will definitely return and highly recommend.

Amazing pub, very clean and classy and food is amazing ! Got to say very different to most pubs, looks very clean and respected by its customers, most pubs have young people as customers who make it a horrible atmosphere for families when around

My friend and I had lunch here..was very relaxed..food was fine..maybe staff were a little slow..but not All together bad.

Eaten here a few times - lunch and dinner times. The staff are always friendly and attentive but the food is really hit and miss. On occasion it's been a long wait for food, other times it's average wait times and not reflective of the number of seated tables or time of day. Last time we visited was for a Birthday celebration, Sunday early evening and the pub was not busy, the mixed grill was disgusting, meat unbearably chewy and quality questionable. Rotisserie chicken is always good but not everyone wants to eat that! Decided not to spend more money and stay for desserts, annoying as it was a Birthday treat.

Food was perfectly served, hot, clean and as ordered - apart from the impressive quality of the food we ordered, the service by Saffron really stood out.It takes a lot for me to get off my gelatinous arse and write a review, but when the service has been exceptional then its worthy of the effort and time. Saffron was approachable, warm, friendly, polite, welcoming, non-judgemental, hard-working and a total credit to the eatery. This woman seemed very capable but without any of the smug arrogance that usually comes from a person who waits on tables but knows they are capable of far more.I have no doubt that there is not a situation that she could not handle, and she'd be an asset to any company that needs a professional individual to deal with customers or the public.

Used to be regular last years going there at least twice a week as this pub near to the gym I go to, but based on my last 3 visits this year including one last week the food now is very very average, bit tasteless and and not value for money at all, my favourite was the juicy roast chicken which is now roast chicks,over cooked and dry also tried the new beef and the chicken pies both are air filled hardly any meat in them, the place went from a Roastery to a premium pub after the refurb just before last Christmas, well in my opening the only thing went premium is the prices unlike the food quality that went down massively

We decided to visit the Sarsen Stones at the last minute and despite no booking we were seated within just a few minutes. Very friendly restaurant and bar staff who looked after us very wellGood menu choices and very quickly served. Would certainly go back again

Just had our first meal at The Sarson Stones, was very pleasantly surprised. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, the restaurant is clean with plenty of seating and the food is amazing. We’ve lived in the area for two years and never visited, now we will be regulars. And it may even become one of our favourites.

Went here for Sunday lunch and the Sunday lunch was excellent could not fault it what value for money

6 adults visited in December for Sunday lunch as a birthday celebration. Very attentive, friendly and helpful service, including candle and birthday song for my son, which really made it special. Food was lovely, especially vegetarian roast dinner. Relaxed atmosphere, despite being busy. Prices very fair. Recommended!

Very good food, hot and tasty. Plenty to choose from on the menu. Drinks were not too expensive. Would go again for lunch and maybe try and evening meal there.

Just come back from a great lunch with friends at the Larsen stone had a good lunch , good food portions clean place.

Lunch for 6 on a Monday, it has easy parking and nice decor, staff are friendly and efficient. The food is OK but only warm, not hot which is a disappointment. However the price for all of us plus at least one drink each was only £90 including tip!!

Just had lunch 9 in party, meals came out one at a time.

My wife and I decided to go for a quick meal , one evening . We have been here before , so we thought we would go again . As always the staff were good and attentive. The atmosphere here is good , the food we had was excellent and good value , I highly recommend the burgers . Overall a good visit and will definitely go back .

We were recently staying at the Premier Inn hotel in Southwood, Farnborough. We were not impressed with the Brewers Fayre attached to the Hotel. Sarsen Stones was recommended to us by a friend. The level of Customer Service and quality of food we received far exceeded our expectations. So much so we attended the following night and experienced the same. Well worth a visit!

Excellent sunday lunch - roast beef and all the trimings, followed by Jam rolypoly. Soem areas can be wuite noisy so best to book and ask for a quiet area.

I meet with ex work friends every week and Sue our waitress always looks after us so well. Good food too!

I visited this restaurant when it first opened and it was horrendous… the table service, the bar service, given warm prosecco, poor food. I have coeliacs disease, ordered from the gluten free menu and spent 3 days very unwell because I was glutened.

Alison was our waitress and what a credit she is, so friendly and nice. The food was cooked to perfection and we will certainly be back very soon.

We were a party of 9 celebrating 5 separate Birthdays.

Decided to have dinner here before we met friends for a drink. It was a busy night and we hadn’t booked. We sat in the bar which was full of uncleared tables and lots of unwatched children running around. The pub itself is fine, though a few chairs were there with the bottoms fallen out of them. Food was really disappointing, not as described and not very nice! It was very loud so you couldn’t actually hold a conversation. We won’t be back.

Popped in for a bite to eat after work and a quick beer and once again service and food were great!!

The £12 bottle of viognier was very drinkable. Had the half chicken lunch with roasted veg and chips which was all pretty good. Really didn't need that much piri piri sauce tho! My wife's wholegrain sandwich was good with plenty of cheese. Service was fast and friendly too. What a nice surprise this place was.

This was my first visit and I was very impressed, very clean and tidy, greeted and seated promptly. Service by Sue 5* was excellent - nothing was too much trouble and she was very attentive and friendly. Food was of very good quality. My Mothers requests were accounted for. Will definitely return - I came home with the festive menu as a group of us like to go out for an evening and I will be recommending the Sarsen Stones

Working away so eating in here every day for £6 and the food is great. Service is excellent and staff are always happy to help

Visited two days in row for lunch. Great food and tasty dishes but it took quite some time to prepare the dishes.

We decided to eat here having been thwarted earlier in the day elsewhere. We found out the dogs are allowed in the bar area so we took a table in there instead of the restaurant area. I ordered drinks whist my wife went to collect the dog and also food. My wife ordered the smaller version of their pie whilst I choose the half chicken with a mushroom sauce and chips. The chips were crisp outside with a fluffy inside, the chicken was moist with flavour, my only complaint as such was the lack of sauce which came in a very small pot, I would have much preferred it lathered over the chicken. Both meals were very good.

Visited with family for my mums birthday lunch . Was greeted quickly at the door and shown to a very suitable table.... 2 babies with prams . Was looked after extremely well by Sue . She was full of life . Will definitely be returning.

I come here regularly and the service is always fantastic, particularly from Saffron. She always serves with a smile and makes sure everybody is happy with their meals. Highly recommend!

Friendly waitress and very knowledgeable and some of my clients who spoke little or no English were very impressed with the attitude of all that was involved with especially our waitress who was called Saffron I believe. I have already been emailed by a South American client who is looking forward to his next visit

Well lovely service from sue she was brilliant esp while i was eating my steak half way through I found my steak was rare so asked if she mind if i could have it cooked abit longer I said to sue you can bring back on the same plate as i hadn't finished but when she brought it back out I got fresh peas and mash and sauce I said you didn't need to do that but thanked her and i like to say thankyou to the chef who done that for me but the service and chat from sue made my evening enjoyable. I know its her job but taking that extra mile makes a world of difference well do to you sue and the the chef xxx

living local to the stones we go there quite a lot. It’s great for the kids and us adults alike with food we all like and that she something as i have fussy kids! I chose to go out and meet up with friends for a catch up and a meal and we weren’t disappointed. The service was fantastic and our waitress Saff was attentive and friendly. We stayed till closing time and had to be asked to leave as the time ran away with us! Definitely a great place to go even if it’s just for drinks with its good variety of food and drinks. It’s always clean and has a good atmosphere.

We have visited the Sarsen Stones a few times and always love the food. The restaurant is a lovely place to eat and family friendly too. Our server Saffron was lovely and service with a smile even in the current heat we have! We will definitely be returning very soon.

The staff were absolutely lovely so nice and welcoming our waiter had a lovely smile when we around. She was a lovely girl called saffron and have you plenty of time to order and never rushed your decisions. She also has great advice on what to order if your debating. The food was great and the portion sizes for the price were brilliant and the quality of the food was off the scale would definitely recommend even with fussy eaters!

We love the sarson stones. They cater so well for allergies with all the information you need on the kids menus. My husband wanted to try something different so asked our lovely waitress what she’d Recommend. Saffron suggested a vegan burger that was lovely! We will definitely be back.

Went for a roast last Sunday and it was really good. Our server was terrific, he looked after us very well. Would highly recommend.

Sarsen Stones is an absolutely fantastic pub. The atmosphere is second to none with some of the most attentive, friendly and generally fantastic staff. Whether you're coming for a drink, a meal or for one of the brilliant events, you won't be disappointed. Five stars all round, every single time.

We had a great meal at the Sarsens on Thursday. Clean plates all round! 4 adults and 3 children. Great value and Saffron was an excellent waitress. We love it here!

Food and drink were fantastic. Both quality and value for money, especially ordering from the supper club menu! Would recommend!

I reserved a table for 2 and informed my guest has a mobility chair. One arrival Sue our waitress gave my Dad a choice of where he would like to be seated he chose a table near the window, waitress explained how to order off the menu and gave us time drinks came quickly. Had a lovely meal and service was excellent, meal not quite all eaten and was warped up in foil to be taken home. Nothing too much trouble. I would recommend this restaurant, we went on a Monday lunchtime after fathers Sunday. Parking and excess great for wheelchairs.

Visited on the 21st of June for lunch. On arrival was greeted with a smile by a chef removing chicken from the oven. food was amazing value for money and service was above and beyond.

Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the warm, yet modern setting. Once seated, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Catered to anything we needed. My buffalo cauliflower tacos were very tasty and my 1yo approved of the chips. I wish we weren’t too full to have dessert, because the menu looked delicious!

You must book in advance otherwise no tables available.It was a Friday night when we went and very warm so maybe that helped attract more customers. The food was very good,the staff very friendly

Went for my son’s birthday meal. Table was booked at 6pm, we waited over an hour for starters and another 50 minutes for mains. Such a shame as it spoilt the evening.

Never a disappointment when we come. The menu offers a wide range of reasonably priced food which tastes delicious. What makes this place even better though is the brilliant service at all tines. Our server today, Rory, was fantastic! Would definitely recommend to everyone.

A typical family pub, lots of menu choices. Chose half a rotisserie chicken with coriander rice & roasted vegetables. It was surprisingly nice. White wine offer good. Would come back again as close to where my friend lives but wouldn’t make a special trip. Good parking, friendly staff, good service, nice atmosphere.

We arrived and the car park was almost full, as was the restaurant, but there was a spare table for 2. The atmosphere was noisy with some large groups nearby. The waiter attending us was Rory and he provided a very good service - prompting me to write this review. The food from a fairly standard menu was good too, promptly delivered, and at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit, or revisiting.

Good service from Rory,nice menu choice and cost ok. Would prefer better value, portion wise and more attention to children's meals however all in all, well worth a visit. Nice place, friendly staff

Wanted to treat our kids to a rare dinner out but once I tried my food I wished I would not been so lazy cooking the dinner. But I cook from scratch every day I though it would be a nice break.

Came this evening with my partner and youngest daughter. Excellent overall experience again. Delicious food, especially the rotisserie chicken and very tasty jam roly poly. Oue server Dani was very polite and friendly. Perfect family evening thank you ☺️
