All KFC lovers go away, as you will be waiting for a bit longer to get better chicken and you are not worthy! Do not expect to be served straight away at pesk times. A good 15-20 minute stand is normal to take away (no drive-thu, seating or eating). Superb tasting chicken if you can hold out for that long without complaining. Brilliant staff, managing enormous amounts of people for such a small place. I’ve witnessed absolute trash people who bully the staff, but they know how to deal with the impatient scum. 👍

Been going for years and it's always the same chicken from years ago nothing has changed its so nice and the wings are seasoned so well and no grease on them but so juicy n soft when u bite into them, the best chicken shop around West Yorkshire for me, just my opinion, thanks guys 😀

It's our Family's fave, been going decades, staff so helpful, over 80 mile round trip, so far as I know still traditional recipe,fried chicken,it's our treat once a month, beats all big chain stuff in my view, BBQ and all sauces 👌🏻

Seriously didn’t want to be writing this. But I found, on this my first occasion, that I was massively disappointed. I’d seen so many good reviews and videos on this place and was excited to finally be in the area so I could try their food. And…… gutted. Fries big standard boss man chicken shop fries, the chicken was so over cooked and dry the coating had great flavor but it was all just too dry and over cooked. The gravy was delicious and tbh the chicken has potential to be next level. Maybe I was just unlucky but I went in and it was very quiet so it’s not like they didn’t have chance to QC the food. I had the three pieces and chips and gravy and it’s best part of 12 quid so not what you would call cheap but not bank breaking. But still! So disappointing. I will probably try again if back in the area just to see if it was an unfortunate one off. Gutted. Had high hopes.

This place is absolutely ridiculous I had driven down from Manchester to see this “famous chicken shop” and it was was absolutely disappointing. The chicken burger I ordered was all mangled and the bread was ripped. Also there are not enough bins there is literal garbage all at the front of the shop and an absolutely disgusting and hectic atmosphere I do not recommend going here if your expectations are high since this place does not meet that criteria whatsoever. I cannot even believe the staff would let the front of their establishment be so packed with trash and the gardens across the road are covered in “marstons chicken shop” wrappers. Not exactly what you want to see when your trying to get something to eat after a long drive for “ a famous chicken shop”

This is only a personal POV , but I was pretty disappointed after being recommended while I was working in the area. £10.15 for two breasts? chips and a can.

Too expensive for chicken and chips. Too crispy even though just out of the fryer.

Been looking forward to a Marstons for about two months, since the last one. This one sadly was dire. Dry chicken fillet bun and dry fillet with chips. Drove home with them otherwise would’ve sent them back, Fast food should still be made with love and care at £18 for two meals. Chips were poor too. At least I won’t be craving to return.

Absolutely beautiful. App works brilliantly, picked it up 25 mins later. And food was amazing. Really good value for money. Chicken burgers/sandwich ginormous and tasty and chicken wings are so tasty. Definitely recommend

I have heard a lot about the chicken from here, and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered three pieces of chicken on the bone, which took about 10 minutes as there was a queue. It tasted amazing and was so juicy 😋. Not the cheapest but excellent quality 👌

All I can say is it makes KFC look like a rustlers burger or a b and m bargain dinner 🤣I deliver round here and went past in me wagon couldn't wait to try omg that chicken burger a whole breast southern fried but very light not greasy and sticky and fresh and tasty and the wings we the same really night and white the coating isn't like KFC it's better can't comment on the thighs and legs but they looked delicious 😋 they were very large too and he gravy exactly KFC but with a peppery kick I will be returning check the receipt and the service excellent I was stuffed highly recommended 👍

Haven't been for about 18 months as I have moved away but was passing yesterday. Used to be brilliant but was massively underwhelmed on this visit. Dry overcooked fillet burger akin with what you'd get at KFC instead of the succulent juicy chicken I remember, tasteless cheap mayonnaise and no salt on the chips. £10. I'm afraid this feels like a case of standards slipping and prices rising.

Love this place. We've been going for 15 years now & haven't managed to find a nicer chicken shop since! The chicken sandwiches are out of this world! They're huge & lovely & moist (hate that word, but it is what it is). The food is also very reasonably priced for prime chicken breast meat, which is always my favourite menu option. The fries are lovely, too. Can't fault Marstons & wish they had one in Doncaster!

The guy on front wearing a Covid mask was absolutely useless (Think his name was Jacob W). We were told to come inside to order, then one of our party was told to go to the back of the queue outside to order by the guy in the Covid mask. Second of all, when a rude customer took my order, I was told by Jacob to run after it myself otherwise there was nothing I could do. Thankfully someone replaced my order however the supervisor at the time was unapologetic and didn’t care. Obviously the food is nice but hope for better organisation next time I order.

Unfortunately this has massively gone down hill! Food incredibly greasy, portions halved and prices doubled. The chicken wings are tiny little things with hardly any meat on them. The food has started to taste of lukewarm grease

1st time coming here. The boss paid for our dinner. Well if I get a takeaway it pizza. Kfc etc. But I've heard people say this is better than KFC. ?? Could this little shop put out better food.. YES.. The coating was better and when biting into the chicken breast pure white and meaty. Yum. KFC seems more grey ?? So the food was 10/10 Only slight negative is prices are pretty expensive but the food was dam good. So if I go there myself it would be a treat not a regular thing. And the tiny carpark was packed out and it's double yellow lines on a very busy main rd. So food 10/10 Price 8/10 Parking 5/10 I would recommend this place though 👍

Great staff, great service and the chicken is the best I have ever had, took a 20 mile detour on my way home to Leeds after walking my hound in the peak district to go to Marstons, thats how good their chicken is.

Chips were much better, chicken was benging and the chilli sauce is amazing oy let down were the wings which were dry

Unfortunately the chicken was too greasy for us, chips ok. Gravy had a unusual taste. Staff very friendly, parking for about 10 cars. Forgot to give us drinks we ordered so had to return.

Been going for years and it was so disappointing on Friday. The chicken was dry and it's never like that. I had specifics for my wrap, no tomato and cajuan sauce and I received mayonnaise with tomato even though the receipt said the order correctly. The breast of the chicken is what disappointed me the most, the chicken was so dry to the point where I had to smother it in gravy just to make it moist enough for me to swallow. Such a shame really because this was a regular for me and I travelled 35 minutes because I have recently moved. Won't be making the journey again. I ate the food in the car at castle hil, so the food was still hot.

Excellent fried chicken. Wings were exceptional. Chicken fillets were massive and succulent. Chicken fillet sandwich with coleslaw and salad was great value and very tasty. Service was very quick even though the shop was busy. I can't wait to go again

Having ordered breast on the bone with chips three times and a large box of wings when I got home and opened the cartons I was extremely disappointed . The portion size was an absolute joke. Breast on the bone was more like a chicken thigh with a wing attached to it. Hardly any breast meat. The chips used to be good when they were chunky chips. Now they are fries. A positive is the chicken is still tasty but I’ve been going here for 10 years and I won’t be re-visiting as it’s not at all value for money The large wings was also very tasty Friendly staff and spotlessly clean It’s a shame that obviously they are more interested in their profits instead of good quality of food 😔😔😔😔

I always bought the large wings as i couldn't get enough of the flavour, however though the wings were still tasty, they have lost some of their flavour and the portion size seems less.

Just a chicken, nothing special about it. I make better one at home, after marinated for 24h. Wanted to check what's that WOW everyone is saying, but it's just chicken with bland flavour. No parking, pavement is constantly blocked, pedestrian can't pass safely, I won't even mention prams or wheelchair, your customers bad parking practice is making unnecessary traffic on the main busy road. It will be reported to the police for obstructions.

The best chicken wings I've had in a long time. The chicken pieces are lovely aswell! Hot, fresh and just the right amount of batter. The fries are OK, nothing special. Knocked 1 star off as there was only 1 dip we liked, the rest weren't great.

Called here because of recommendations from family and friends. Omg! It was amazing! The chicken breast is tender and moist and the chips with chicken gravy were cooked to perfection. No wonder they’ve been going for donkeys years! We’ll be back!

Came here for the first time after a few people telling me to try it. Overall food was very nice & fresh, young lad outside taking orders very polite, staff inside not so polite or friendly, sighed at me because i wanted to add something to my order which i get you're busy but rude attitude. Would come back but no rush as they is other places similar to this that i prefer which is obviously my personal preference.
