Amazing milkshakes and ice cream, delicious afternoon tea. Owners and staff are super friendly and accommodating, especially for my two kids (2 and 4 years old), with a high chair, books and many smiles. We love going there as a treat. We've been before for afternoon teas with friends and extended family as well. Each time the food and tea choices and quality were great. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm with a modern and eclectic interior. There's a Paddington Tea for children and now also an extended children's menu. Special dietary requirements were no issue and celiac and diabetes suitable afternoon tea was provided and delicious (we preordered). The food on the tiered afternoon plates was lovely, plenty and high quality- two large scones, different mousses and sandwiches per person. Absolutely loving this place and can only highly recommend Marmelade House.

Came across this place walking through Chepstow and we were glad we did. I asked for a ham and cheese omelette and it was excellent. Lovely polite staff that were very helpful, and catered for my request. Will definitely return.

Beautiful little quaint tea house, stunning decor, crockery, food and the bathroom is delightful, we was there for the Shania Twain concert and stopping off here was just the cherry on the top of a very wet day. Very friendly café along the main street. Makes exceedingly good cakes as the saying goes Raspberry ripple yummy, a proper traditional sponge with plenty of raspberry jam. Rocky road was good. The coffee was decent. Books and small amount of toys for children.

Great tea (and coffee) house in the centre of Chepstow with an even greater selection of cakes and pastries. WIFI available and very friendly staff.

We visited here for their high tea. My wife is a coeliac and a vegetarian and they catered for her with no problems at all. The food was really nice, and the place had a really nice feel to it. Would certainly recommend.

Always a 10/10 experience, since new owners have taken over this place is more inclusive for the younger community and have much more of a variety of food , always cooked really well , really friendly staff , much better expierence since the reopening for the new managers

Great little cafe. Went on a Saturday afternoon. Staff were friendly and attentive. Seated straight away. Table and cutlery were clean. I had a latte which was a great flavour. Also had a cheese and onion toastie which had plenty of flavour also, would love to know what cheese they used. The afternoon tea looked amazing and would love to try this on another visit.

Marmalade House totally won us over on our first visit! Such a sweet spot in Chepstow and major props for being dog-friendly and super considerate towards kids. The food had that homemade touch, especially catering to my two little babies who adored their pancakes. And the coffee? A game-changer. But seriously, that spot was the ultimate chill-out place. Good food, awesome music, and just the perfect vibe to sit back and relax. They were happy to let us stay in with the children as it was raining and surprised us with some free brownies too.

I made a reservation for afternoon tea for my husband and I as my friend had kindly given me a voucher for Marmade House for one afternoon tea for my birthday. Whilst the two staff were friendly, the place was cold with no atmosphere whatsoever. The afternoon tea was priced at £19 pp and as I didn’t choose loose leaf tea or americano coffee, an additional charge of 50p was charged for a cappuccino. It was presented on a 3-tier stand and consisted of (for 2 people), 2 scones (1 plain and 1 fruited) with jam and clotted cream; 8 x finger sandwiches; 2 each of ham, egg mayo, cheese & tomato and tuna & cucumber; 8 extremely small pieces of cake, no bigger than 2cm sq each (choc chip, bakewell tart, lemon drizzle and fruit cake) we have never seen cake pieces so small! They were obviously cut from a very thin tray bake, and finally 2 x small choc orange mousse (these were very nice). The only redeeming feature was everything seemed to be fresh. We’ve had a few afternoon teas over the years, but this has to be the worst by far. Will definitely not be going back.

Excellent. We both had the cheese omelette and it was delicious and made with TLC. The staff were most helpful. MH also has an award for the best toilet facilities 2023 (an award I have never seen before). Will definitely visit again when next in Chepstow and highly recommend.

Went for the home made cakes and quickly discovered all the cakes were Costco bought specials, which numerous cafes in the area also sells.

Delightful little family owned cafe in the centre of Chepstow. Home made cakes, sandwiches and pastries. Wide selection of loose leaf teas and all served with a smile.

Absolutely amazing! Lovely tea rooms! All decorated beautifully throughout. Friendly, attentive and efficient staff. The cakes, pancakes, muffins, scones, soups, waffles have all been amazing on every visit! Always a very good selection of cakes. All the food and service has been of very high standard! We've visited on many occasions and can highly recommend it! Spotlessly clean throughout. The toilet and baby changing facilities are of a very high standard. Definitely a must visit! You won't be disappointed!

Wow, what a beautiful special tea shop. I met with friends for a chinwag and we ordered an afternoon tea each plus some bubbles. The food was absolutely delicious and there was soooo much I had to take a doggy bag home. We got 4 sandwiches, a scone the size of your hand with clotted cream and jam, cherry cake, carrot cake, chocolate mouse, lemon tart and a macaron. I don’t drink alcohol and they even had some non alcoholic fizz for me, this was really thortful and greatly appreciated. What a gem of a place. Highly recommended for a special treat.

We both had a panini and an “americano”. The paninis were ok, but the bacon in them was clearly shop bought ready cooked crispy bacon. The coffees were truly awful instant coffee. There appeared to be a good selection of cakes, so if you’re stopping off for tea and cake it would probably be fine. If what you’re after is a yummy panini and coffee, go somewhere else.

Really rude customer service. Assumptions made and thought with their 2 whole years of experience that they’d express our stupidity after false advertising for extortionate food. Instead of questioning to make sure everything was okay, ignored confusion from both parties because ‘they know best’.

I booked high tea for my mum for Mother’s Day as I live in Germany so I couldn’t be there. They made it so special with a beautiful box of take home cakes ( because they couldn’t eat everything) and gave her hand tied daffodils 🌼 They couldn’t stop talking about what a great time they had and how big the scones were. Amazing food and service! Keep up the great work you are an asset to Chepstow!

I visited with a group of family members for the first time this weekend, it’s fair to say we were ALL disappointed. There were 6 adults, which between us all only received ONE afternoon tea stack to share between us - which we noted there were only 3 of each item on each tier which we had to somehow share between us.. (3 scones, 3 shot glass sized mousses, 3 brownie bites, 3 cupcakes) which resulted in everyone leaving rather hungry still. There were also 2 children who shared the Paddington afternoon tea, which only had 1 of each item on - 1 Barney bear, 1 tiny scone, 1 rice crispy treat etc) and it did not come on a stack like in the photographs on the website either, it was on a plate. We noticed that a table behind us had only 2 adults and 2 children and they had ONE afternoon tea stack and ONE Paddington afternoon tea between them yet for 6 adults we were only provided with 1 stack which made no sense. Upon looking at the page further I noticed that in photographs added online, for 5 adults there were TWO stacks between them all. And another example, a photograph of 2 adults and 2 children at one table they also had TWO afternoon tea stacks between them.. This was supposed to be a Mother’s Day treat but we did not leave feeling all that pleased by the experience, there were 3 mothers present and the rest of the family were reluctant to reach for much of the food due to the lack of it and for wanting the mothers to enjoy the food! At the end of the tea we paid over £80 overall for ONE afternoon tea stack and ONE Paddington afternoon tea which did not seem to add up at all.. Very sorely disappointed and out of pocket despite still being hungry when we left and not only that but we travelled to visit the place and it was not worth it in the end. Will NOT be returning and would NOT recommend this place to others. It was unfortunate that the Mother’s Day treat turned out this way as it was certainly not worth the money that we paid for it in the end. The owners do not acknowledge any mistakes either and refuse to rectify the issue. I’ve added photos below of the afternoon tea stack we had plus the plate that the children’s food was on, only had a photo at the end to show for size. Also added photos of the guests mentioned above and what they received in comparison.

The cream tea was delicious and the service very friendly. It is a welcome alternative to the coffee chains. In addition, the restroom was clean, cool (on a hot afternoon) and provided small hand towels and hand cream.
