Marks & Spencers Cafe in Birmingham

This location is good for both of use. Despite going at 11.30 there were only a few tables available and a bit later they were calling for people not to order unless they already had a table as they were full. My friend had the pancakes with fruit. She ate the fruit but said the pancakes had a very strange flavour. I have the cheese omelette, not realising that it came in a bun. Only ate half the bun and the omelette was very tasteless and rubbery. Will go back to toasties or jacket potato if we go back in the future.

Over 30 minutes wait for coffee and scone. Ridiculous. Lack of staff on front counter to make coffee, take orders and pay. However the tables were kept clear. Reorganised staff deployment please.

looked at food for sale,2 small biscuits in a packet £1 pound,wow...if that ain't greed I don't know what is..do people have this kind of cash to pay these days?? I just want to say that because of the shambles service in this place the staff there employing,this place caused a huge argument between me & my friend,if the staff hadn't of got my "simple"order wrong it would not of happened..a simple food order they messed up,because simple minds..what example r u sending out to promote such a great known company...!!get better staff and reduce your prices. ! £20 quid for 2 jacket potatoes & cup of tea is a rip off..

Bacon ciabatta roll just about acceptable. Cheap streaky bacon though. Decaff coffee was awful. Tasteless.

The food here is delicious, I had a Baked Potato which was scrumptious. The Iced & Spiced bun was wonderful. The service was good, staff polite. The only downside is there is a slight 'musty' smell in here, I'm not sure what's causing it but the ceiling tiles look old and discoloured. It would benefit from some extra interior enhancements, such as cushions, perhaps modern plants and some more style. It seems very harsh and basic, especially with the plastic seating.

Upstairs on 2nd floor, this café as now re-opened with a smaller menu than normal. The hot chocolate is delicious. The jacket potatoes were nice to eat, pity not more variety in the fillings available. Friendly staff about five on duty when we were there. Can’t wait for my next visit. Surprised it was so quiet compared to my last visit. Seems to be a meeting place for the retired ladies to meet up in a safe friendly environment.

I wish I had read the reviews before my visit today! As mentioned by others there was a long queue & not enough staff to run the tills, tables desperately needed clearing. To be fair the food was fine but upon looking at my receipt realised I'd been charged for grated cheese as well as tuna & sweetcorn, when baked potato arrived I queried it & the assistant got me my £1.95 refund. I wonder how many others have been overcharged. Come on M&S get your act together after all it's not just any high street cafe it's an M&S cafe!!

Very long queue. Lady on till (Jacqueline) was very rude to the elderly lady in front of me who was a bit hesitant about the drink she wanted. Never before have I seen this from M and S staff.Then I was positively told off for moving 3ft along (while waiting for my coffee) to allow the next person to be served. This member of staff clearly could not cope with the pressure of the queue and was so short tempered with customers. I won’t be returning to this coffee shop.

Visited yday for quick coffee whilst feeding baby. After what seemed like forever my husband returned with a £3.05 cup of froth. Took it back to the counter where the woman doing the coffees was dealing with another customer. It appeared this lady was waiting for a tea cake which never reached her as they couldn't find her but the response from the staff was a shrug of the shoulders and "what do you want want me to do". Finally resolved after blatant snide comments being muttered to a fellow colleague.she very nicely took the coffee off me and offered to do another but what wasn't appreciated was the sarcastic attitude with the fresh cup scraping it with a t-spoon saying " is that ok, you sure, I can scrape some more off and fill it up, you sure??" Given the previous review perhaps m&s should think about retraining its staff how to make hot drinks and dropping their attitudes towards its customers.

Called in yesterday with friends for coffee.waited in queue for 20 mins.only I person serving hot drinks. Didn't seem capable of even coping with the only coffee machine in use.kept trying to froth up coffee which then cascaded all over machine.result was a cappucino with a small amount of tasteless coffee and a lot of froth. Friend who had black coffee said if it wasn't for the colour she would have thought it was hot water.Avoid

Saw the advertiesment of strawberry and cream £2. so myself and my wife surgested we have a quick snack here. however there was only 1 left. shame as it was nice. but could with restocking the counter more

We popped in for a coffee but waited 20 minutes before we were served, then another 20 for the drinks to arrive. We saw one of the cleaners put a customers croissant back in the "for sale" tray so decided we couldn't eat here!

City centre cafeteria inside department store. Choice is limited. Service is ok. Food was acceptable.

We went to Marks & Spencer‘s for a quick bite and decided to have a lunch meal. We ordered jacket potatoes and unfortunately the order was incorrectly done at the till and order however one of the serving staff named Francis was absolutely fantastic really helpful and so courteous in this manner thank you so much and very attentive to customer services as he managed to rectify this issue quickly

lovely selection of cakes (which I didn't have, but they all looked delicious!), but queues were enormous today and I thought I was going to take root in the floor I waited for so long (about half an hour before I even got a tray. Service is painfully slow (even when it's not busy - they just don't allocate enough staff at busy times. Have always enjoyed their lunches (love the fish finger sandwich - but not sure about the green salad they put between the bread and the fish fingers) but my decaf cappuccino tasted of absolutely nothing. It's only good thing was that it was hot and wet! Table clearing leaves a lot to be desired! Don't bother if you're in a hurry!

Realmente una comida y un servicio terribles, tardaron 20 minutos en ser servidos para que nos dijeran que lo que queríamos estaba agotado. Así que terminamos con pescado y papas fritas, que era horrible, pescado congelado barato y papas realmente gruesas que eran tan duras que podrías haber golpeado a alguien con ellas.

Good selection of cakes and sandwiches. Better than some other Marks & Spencer Cafes. Nice staff. Good service

Avoid this place do not cater to vegetarians at all fish and chips were fried in beer batter was told they have chips and then they gave them to another customer. Won't be going back there

I had the misfortune to chose to eat at MARKS & SPENCERS High Street, BIRMINGHAM

Have used this cafe for a meeting place to catch up with friends during the day but have now decided no more. The wait in the queue is just too much and it has always been the same. Never extra staff on to cope with the queue and I can better use my time elsewhere where I don’t have to wait.

Often have coffee here and, whilst there is usually a very long queue, that has been fine. Yesterday My friend and I decided to have a full English before going to the cinema. The two foiled butter pats had been placed upon the toast and was so molten that it went everywhere. The toast, two small slices, were rock hard and shattered when trying to cut them. Won't have this again!

Not really any options for gluten free, staff were very slow or just hanging about, even though tables needed cleaning. I ordered the soup but wasn't informed that didn't have bread/ roll [gf] until had alreadysat down, then someone come and told me so just had to have a bowl of soup.

Visited this Café on many occasions, but what a depressing place to sit and eat, the place is drab and is much need of a complete makeover, likewise the staff need to be made aware they need to work as a team. Our visit on Saturday late afternoon, not a queue, but it took them an age to serve the one customer in front of us with their hot drinks. The tilling staff member was extremely pleasant, but her colleague preparing the hot drinks just did as she pleased, which basically amounted to doing very little. The hot food items we have taken from the display cabinets were according to the staff had all been sold, thus denoting very poor stock control. We then waited at till for the person preparing the hot drinks to make ours, only to find she had wandered off and had ignored her colleagues request for two pots of tea. Thankfully they arrived just as our hot food was served to us at the till, the toasted sandwiches were hot, the tea once again tepid, although the Café was not busy, no attempt had been made to clear the tables of the dirty crockery and discarded food, all round this a very poor operation for a City Centre Flagship store.

He usado este café un par de veces cuando en la tienda y en el lado positivo, el café siempre es el mismo nivel razonable y bollos, bocadillos, etc. son frescas. También se sirven comidas informales, por ejemplo, patatas, sopas, etc. chaqueta Es absolutamente bien para tomar un café o comer cuando en esta tienda o cerca. M&S; cafe is run by a group of dithering, fumbling and mumbling semi retired bingo playing ladies who, as much as trying hard to please and to be doing their best, have the urgency and fast movement of the current North Pole Glacier.

Idea was after doing our shopping to finish off taking my mum to do some shopping in marks and spencers after spending some money in store thought we would try traditional fish and chips. Very hungry made our way to the cafe. When asked about the fish they said it was covered in beer batter understandable it's Xmas and the normal fish was not available however to be then told they have no vegetarian options was an absolute disgust. Then been as we made our way to the cafe I asked if we could have a portion of chips to which the lady replied we don't do chips on there own and we do not have any left anyway . Rude is not the word.

Sólo una persona de servir y sacar dinero y larga cola esperando. Asistente para Ayuda llamado varias veces sin respuesta. En 1. 30:00 h. No mermelada para bollo y fresca crema y me sugirieron que me he mermelada! ! ! Pedí y pagué por café regular y conseguimos pequeñas. No era la primera visita, pero podría ser la última. Por favor hacer algo al respecto.

You can get a good cup of tea here at a fair price. But there isn't much ambiance and I would not like to try eating here when it is busy

It was early evening so choice was limited. Staff were friendly although they got the wrong tea. Coffee was OK but could have been hotter. Toasties were good but bothered by a small fly around us. Seating was comfortable. Prices a little high.

Did some shopping for holiday clothes, found just about every thing we needed, decided to go and have a bite to eat, should have gone somewhere else, the beer battered fish and chips were bland, chips like rubber, baked potato and salad were OK, tables were full of dirty crockery, three tables around us were full of plates etc and still had not been cleared when we left, will not bother again

Limited menu. Unfriendly staff. Good food. The shopping is definately worth it but the cafe can be skipped. Their hot chocolate was pretty and tasted veey good. Their chips...really good. Loved the pig in jacket (potato with bake beans).

Came here with a friend, good selection of sandwiches, breakfast items and cakes with the choice of a few hot dishes, food was mid price and cafe clean, staff were friendly; only down side is it took a while to get served and had to wait a while for my sandwich to get heated up, the earl grey tea was also on the weak side. Had bacon breakfast role which was really tasty!

"Brie y tocino liberar". Me gusta me gusta bacon y queso brie, así que pensé que le daría una oportunidad. Vaya. . . . . Gran error! ! ! ! Parecía bastante agradable y se asoma entre las capas de pan confirmó que había algo de queso brie y algunos tocino. . Pero no mucho y probado. . . . . . Absolutamente nada!. Un salto para café y pastel; buena variedad de tortas y pasteles, y también ofrece artículos para niños pequeños. Tronas disponibles que hizo comer aquí sea agradable. Pasteles eran frescos y de buena calidad. El lugar estaba limpio y ordenado y el personal era amable y eficiente. Yo no soy un habitual visitante de Birmingham, pero sin duda la próxima vez que visite la ciudad.

Día ajetreado de ventas así me apareció n frend lunchtome aquí snack. No hay mucha variedad de sándwiches, etc. No mucho en stock. El 2 sopas (confía en mí, casi fue que sktech! Me tomó años) habían dado repitiendo hasta mi pedido, así que simplemente!

Poor quality food - jacket potato was very small and macaroni cheese tasted of nothing. Surroundings were dark and depressing. No toilets in the cafe.

Never go in here but was in a rush and quickly got some breakfast I ordered a breakfast bloomer. It came as an open sandwich with powdered scrabble egg and was awful. 2 tiny pieces of bacon on top

La ubicación parece un poco escondido y la distribución restaurante un extraño. casablaca Algunas áreas de estar algunos asientos. No obstante, la tarifa es obviamente txt y totalmente aceptable. Nunca he tenido más que la oferta de desayuno o aperitivos. Para mi gusto el café es un poco de luz. Está bien si en la tienda y que necesita sustento. Mi sensación es que para muchos es un reconfortante y preferido y no tan estridente o ruido como otros restaurantes en el centro de la ciudad.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime, well presented nice food BUT waited 20 minutes in the queue to be served and a further 25 minutes for someone to bring the food to us.

The cafe was really not up to the usual Marks and Spencer standard. There were many tables uncleared and the service was interminably slow. The he hot chocolate was Luke warm and the marshmallows on top were dry and almost chewy (ie stale). The store is rather dull and lacks colour. However, it is well laid out and very spacious.

Llamamos para un aperitivo a mediodía y nos las arreglamos para conseguir una mesa, simplemente! El café es realmente grande y excepcionalmente ocupado y había una cola enorme cuando nos fuimos. Tuvimos que esperar en fila para bastante tiempo y te dieron la sensación no había suficiente personal. Habiendo dicho que lo que tuvimos fue hasta M y S estándar y agradable.

Dont usally do store cafes but just wanted a quick snack cafe was clean good choice of sandwiches and cakes staff are all friendly and helpful will definitely be calling here again

Ordered food/drinks , got drinks in a reasonable timescale then waited for food, and waited and waited, eventually we went to ask what was happening and without even lifting her head and acknowledging we existed, she said "its on its way" Then when the food did come it was only part of our order, the waiter didn't know anything about the rest of the order we had paid for. In fairness, he went out of his way to resolve the issue, he was proactive, helpful and apologetic maybe the female member of staff should watch him work, she might learn how to deliver good customer service. All in all not a great experience.

Very nice visit we had here today my daughter and i, and our gorgeous grandson very nice food and very reasonably priced will visit again

Hay algunos sillones y sofás cómodos pero no suficiente! Si no tienes la suficiente suerte de conseguir uno de estos escaños que nosotros las mesas y las sillas.

Visitamos este lugar varias veces y cada vez hay una larga cola. A veces hay un gran número de personas que sirve y otras veces sólo uno o dos. No parece a hacer ninguna diferencia, que siempre termina con el tiempo de espera.

Marks and Spencers Cafe in deze splinternieuwe vestiging is echt een rustpuntje voor shoppers: een goede plek voor een kop koffie of een English (high) Tea. Wij hebben erg genoten van onze thee en de superverse scones !

AS usual the service in the cafe was slow with staff talking together. Coffee OK ish, didn't buy cakes as seemed a little expensive. Following the cafe used the toilets which were grubby without toilet paper, no one around to advise of this deficit.

Todo el personal sabía mi compañero por mi nombre, lo que me pareció muy bien, ya que añaden un toque personal cuando 4 miembros separados de cuidado personal para decir "hola" a ella. El chocolate caliente era delicioso. Le encantaría volver aquí otra vez.

Cafe food and drink always very good standard bur always a slow que. We visit many M&S; stores in the north and midlands and are always surprised at the slow couner service. Why is that?

Plenty of tables some were a bit close together, difficult for a wheelchair. Plenty of choice, shame they didn't have my soup though. Even my daughter was catered for and she is really fussy.

I love M&S; food and this place was no exception. Small but clean with friendly staff members. World visit again.

Massive queue as always in marks and spencer really couldn't be bothered to wait. I'm sure the staff are lovely and probably helpful but sadly not enough of them.. !

Clean and efficient cafe in The Pavillions. There's lighter and airier eating places on the same floor of the pavillions. But if you want M&S; service and choice this is the place for you.
