Lots of items on the all-day menu are not available due to no stock , which seems to be a constant problem here. The management team needs to sort stock ordering out. No bacon, no sauages, no semmi skinned milk. Very poor

My mother and I had to go to Swindon hospital today. We left early as we thought we would have some lunch in Marks and Spencer in Swindon town first We both wanted to use the toilet before lunch , well what an awful shock it was, firstly there were three toilet cubicles closed as they were not working, so the remaining few were being used by a constant flow if ladies. The smell was putrid, we decided to leave as we couldn't stay in there any longer. We went to the cafe where there were no clean tables anywhere, trays upon trays of dirty cups and plates piled high. We were served by a young woman who had to make the drinks as well as serve, she spoke so quietly we couldn't hear her, I don't think she knew what it was to smile. My mother and I had to clean our table and put serviettes all over it to try and make it at least appear clean. We found a lady downstairs who was clearly in charge of something, we complained about these issues only to be told the building is over 100 years old so there are plumbing issues, really well get a plumber to sort them then. She said she herself had been helping in the cafe to clear tables, funny we never saw her and it was lunchtime, so instead of standing around on the ground floor go back up and help where it is clearly needed. Would we go there again NEVER.

Dreadful in every way choice of food boring uninspiring customer service rude and seemed uninterested and the restaurant felt dirty tired and old fashioned This restaurant could be so much more as not much left in Swindon for lunch . Come on M&S service always seems disorganised when ever you go in .

We’d literally only just stepped foot in the door and peered around at the cafe to see if there were any available tables when a member of staff rudely stated “we’re only serving customers who we’ve given a table”, the logic is beyond me? why would I wait in a queue to then find you’re at full capacity? we simply peered around the corner and were berated for breaking some unwritten rule. completely unwelcoming and nonsensical.

We visited the Cafe in Marks and Spencer at the Orbital Retail Park in Swindon and were surprised and delighted with the quality of our food, the ham and cheese toastie was delicious, soft and well filled

Very limited for vegetarians. The only vege toastie is mushroom and cheese which isn’t good if you don’t like mushrooms. More shockingly is they don’t have Marmite! I find this most bizarre from a cafe that serves breakfasts.

Went here in January for a quick bit of lunch...... silly us. ordered two soups, one with gluten free bread, along with our coffees. Off we go to our table... next to the clearing station. That was a mistake. The clearing station was disgusting, the walls around the clearing station were stained with coffee and tea slops and old food. It was like sitting next to a bin. The place was full so no other options. Table was grubby, cutlery was yucky, coffee was average.... and we waited for our food. ........ everyone els got their hot meals, soups, sandwiches etc... we did not. I complained, and they said we were next on the list. We watched people after us get their soups, sandwiches etc and we were still waiting. The lady that was using the clearing station could see we were not happy, so she went up to check on our meal. There were heated words behind the counter, lots of flustered faces, and snappy comments exchanged... we waited some more. Finally we got our soup, was not worth the wait!!! Over salted uninteresting.... go somewhere else and treat yourself to something nice... not average to crap with snappy staff.

Visited for a late lunch. Service is agonisingly slow, why on earth do they not offer filter coffee to speed up the ridiculous wait for a simple coffee? I had to ask the only girl in the counter "are you on your own?" before another girl appeared in a stroppy manner and starting serving, the cutlery was absolutely filthy they are obviously not checking it when it comes out of the dishwasher! All in all a very bad experience and not what you expect from M&S, the management obviously don't care as nobody has responded to the really bad reviews on here. They would be better closing the cafe down if they can't do it properly and I can stop paying £10 a month for coffee vouchers !

So so happy with the gluten free sandwich, cheese and chutney wish they did this in the cheese hall!!! So hard to find anything gluten free vegetarian. Delicious. Wish they had more gluten free sweet options, maybe a nice slice of cake. The Black Forest got chocolate was yummy they did me soya milk which was good. Wish the place was a little cleaner and the staff were a little faster. Mum had the rainbow cake it looked good she said it was delicious. The toilets were a disgrace but that’s nothing to do with the cafe. So happy about my sandwich!!!

Reluctantly called in for a quick coffee, big mistake, I avoid this place as although staff are polite enough service is slow and food choice dismal, the M&S garage cafe is far better, anyway waited 10mins to get served in a take away cup as something had broken down tables full of clutter but wow its 15.30 now and woosh suddenly tables are getting cleared, must be home time not coming back in a hurry, and by the way you are now surrounded by cafe and coffee bars up your game or you'll loose out big time.

Today I bought a medium decaf soya cappuccino. It was served In a small cup and was barely warm nearly cold. I could barely taste any coffee, I could have been drinking watery milk. For £2.75 this was not value for money. Unfortunately this is not the first time I have been served pour quality coffee. On previous occasions I have tried flat white and latte. On all occasions the drinks were the same, cold no flavour and small.

Today my parents and I visited the cafe for the first time. We were told that the dishwasher was broke and the food was being served on paper plates, which we didn’t have a problem with. A lady did come out and inform us about this problem. However after quing for over 20 minutes we were told that we couldn’t have hot food due to the dishwasher, which is the only reason we visited. We were not told this when she came round. We wasted all that time and didn’t even receive an apology. Such an dreadful experience. In future if there is a problem more details need to given before quing. We were not impressed at all.

I think a bit of supervision/management is required here. Arriving at just before 2pm nearly every unoccupied table was full of used plates, cups (etc) with people moving these from table to table to make space. Not a very 'M&S' type of environment if honest.

This cafe had quite a long questions for lunch on a Wednesday. The restaurant is accessible by wheelchair however I found it difficult to get out once people where sat at tables. I didn't know if I was supposed to clear my own table or not? There were a lot of trays around. But staff were friendly. Would return again for light lunch.

I will not visit the cafeteria ever again until I hear that the manager has corrected the appalling waiting times for visitors wishing to purchase a cup of coffee. It took me 23 minutes to receive just 1 cup of coffee. I was only 8th in the queue and cannot understand the reason for the delay - there were several members of staff on duty but the system must be improved or customers will go elsewhere, especially as the food precinct is beginning to function on the same level as M and S. This is just not good enough to warrant my future custom.

Coffee and breakfast very good.. Very good choices. The only moan is waiting for the coffee, it takes so long! At one time the was 5 people just waiting for the coffee to be made. I know it takes a while but surely there is a way to speed it up. I know they will say its freshly made, I dont know if there is a choice of "instant" coffee but I would have that just to hurry things up. Or a pot of perky coffee already made up.

Agree with the previous reviews on the all day breakfast. Vastly over priced compared with other places. One small sausage and a tiny bit of over cooked bacon. Wanted a poached egg as advertised but was served up packet scrambled. Had to clear a table as there were no empty ones. Servers behind the counter were either not very interested or did not know what they were meant to be doing, or both. No self serve water available like there used to be either.

We were excited to see an all day breakfast on offer now. However what a disappointment. Over cooked bacon , burnt tomatoes , no poached eggs so we had to have scrambled, tinned mushrooms. Not at all what I would expect for m and s and not cheap either. Won’t have it again

Although the meal was palatable, it was somewhat lacking. When compared to other cafe’s in the area there seemed to be no fresh egg included. Although they advertised the meal as having poached eggs, we both had scrambled egg which was compulsory. This led us to believe that the scrambled egg must have been made from powdered egg as they could not supply us with either boiled fried or poached. The sausage was no bigger than a chipolata. One slice of thin bacon. Two tiny tomatoes. Tinned mushroom. No packs of butter suppliedThe only generous helping was toast which we couldn’t quite decide whether it had been buttered or not. Either way the breakfast bore no resemblance to the photograph advertising it. My advice is go somewhere nearby, where you will pay the same price and get much more choice. For a company like M&S; to give such a poor meal was a surprise, as their cafe’s are usually very good.

I visited this cafe at lunchtime today Tues 3rd October 2017 with my 92 year old dad. I just wanted to leave a review as a way of showing my gratitude to the two Italian lady staff members serving coffee and food there. They both do an excellent job and are so pleasant. The young lady with the black curly hair is always so bubbly and friendly with people and makes a special effort to interact with customers to make their visit a special one. My parents who are both over 90 enjoy going as they are greeted with a smile and their order already remembered from last time. It's these personal touches that make the difference. I would hope that M&S; management team read these reviews and are able to pass on these positive comments. I thoroughly recommend anyone visiting to take time to visit the coffee shop here. In my experience the coffee and service here is the best in Swindon.

Popped in here on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered fish & chips which was served very quickly and tasted lovely. Opened sauce sachets easily enough but when it came to tearing the vinegar sachets it was impossible. I felt like a child and had to resort to using my fork which of course defeated the object. Pot of tea was nice too though.

After a morning's shopping we just wanted a quick something for lunch and as we were in M&S; already, decided on the cafe. BAD CHOICE! WE must have waited about 30 minutes to pay. The restaurant seating area is not very welcoming, it lacks atmosphere and is quite bleak. The tables, chairs and surroundings could do with an update. My wife and I have been going to The Brewers all ours lives (since the days when it had animals and birds in their beer garden). The interior is nicely decorated, but externally it is beginning to look a little jaded. Foodwise, For lunch I opted for their Chicken Ceaser Wrap, which was really nice and quiet filling as a lunch. However, my wife's Tuna/mayo jacket potato was somewhat small and disappointing considering the price difference between hers and mine. There's a lot of potential for trade due to a lot of construction locally. Let's hope the standards don't drop on the food and they spend a bit on the exterior, as would hate to become disappointed after all there's years.

It’s so nice to be greeted with a smile and friendly face, remembered my drink from last visit! Fantastic barmaid and so friendly! I will be bringing family and friends here again! The barmaid was on her own, remembering every customers drink and greeted everyone with such friendliness! Every pub should have bar staff like this young lady… from overhearing “hellos” her name is Na? Honestly great customer service and so nice to see such a friendly, passionate bar staff! Will be back. Thank you
