Marks & Spencer Cafe in Glasgow City

Si quieres un buen desayuno caliente, sabroso, cocinado en casa y con buena relación calidad-precio, ¡VE A OTRO LUGAR! ¿Por dónde empiezo? Pedí el desayuno completo todo el día, a £ 9. 50 , no era barato y cuando llegó , no se veía muy bien la relación calidad-precio. Lo positivo. El rosti, los frijoles y las tostadas eran agradables y calientes. Los negativos. 2 salchichas del tamaño de chipolatas tibias. Piedra de seta fría. Tocino rayado, bien cocido, grasiento y frío como piedra. Los huevos escalfados debían ser blandos. No lo eran y de nuevo apenas tibias. Me quejé del tocino y me trajeron otro plato de tocino frío y grasiento. De nuevo me quejé y la camarera dijo que me conseguiría un reembolso. Dije que no quería uno. Sin embargo, unos minutos más tarde, Jocelyn el gerente del restaurante apareció para decirme que podíamos tener una bebida caliente gratis, pero de ninguna manera estaba recibiendo el reembolso que no había pedido! Aparentemente no fue culpa de nadie. Aprendí que todo está cocinado, lamentablemente calentado a tiempos y temperaturas preprogramadas. Además, y quizás lo peor. Los huevos escalfados se entregan en una vaina de plástico con agua, supongo que parcialmente cocida , y se meten en agua caliente para cuajar. ¡YEUGH! Lástima que no estuvieran en una cáscara como otros huevos. Mi esposa tenía panqueques, tocino y jarabe de arce. Obviamente no recién hecho, solo calentado. Su tocino era el mismo que el mío. A 8 libras. 50 fue una desgracia. No volveremos. M&S siempre fue conocido por su calidad. ¿Qué ha pasado?

La señora de la caja estaba infeliz de tenernos, dijo que podemos tomar el jugo nosotros mismos y se sorprendió de que no esperáramos por el café, no soy local, así que le pedí un gran capuchino y luego dijo ¿grande? ¿Está bien corregir los errores de los huéspedes? Toda la comida estaba fría, hemos pedido dos desayunos todo el día y todo estaba frío... ya sabes en M&S en York donde vivo la gente es amable, aquí me sentí no deseada.

Almorzamos en M&S hoy 20 de junio con un amigo. Ambos pedimos la sopa de lentejas, un sándwich envuelto y baguette de queso / ensalada. Sin embargo, nos dieron la sopa equivocada (una sopa de zanahoria y cilantro bastante sosa) y descubrí un cabello largo en mi banqueta. No quería hacer una escena en ese momento, ya que no quería que estropeara la cita para comer con mi amigo. En la reflexión realmente desearía haberlo hecho ya que era realmente repugnante.

¿Qué pasa con el personal aquí? Todos miran a la boca y son miserables. Sin duda resta valor a la experiencia del cliente, aunque el té, el café y los bollos eran muy agradables, sin sonrisas o actitud acogedora de nadie.

It's not the staffs fault, it's the set up. One person on a till taking orders and making the drinks means it takes about 20 minutes to order and take a seat. Then you have to wait 10mins if you're lucky for any hot food you've ordered. Didn't used to be like that, one person taking the order and another making the drinks is what's needed. Had to ask staff if they could restock the cakes as almost nothing left. New cakes came out within a minute, just noone keeping an eye on stock that needs replenished throughout the day. No plates once the cakes arrived. No water in the dispenser. You have to keep asking for stuff and the poor people on the tills getting interrupted all the time to sort these issues when they're already doing everything else.

Not sure how they function for a full day! The staff took our order at 11.30am, then we sat down for 10 minutes, then a girl appeared and said they didn't have what we wanted, but i can chose something else? Jeez, really? surely by 11.30 you know what you don't have, its a very small menu, its not rocket science yet they failed........poor poor show

Waiting time is awful. Never enough staff serving. Virtually no one collecting used dishes and trays. Numerous customers turning around and leaving the café without purchasing any food. Manager advised did not show any interest. Why can M and S not get their cafés sorted. It is the same story in every M and S café in my experience.

Sat for over half an hour at the back of the cafe. All the tables are piled high with dirty trays of dishes. An elderly gent was brought his meal when the adjoining table had three trays on it. The server left them and he started eating next to the tower. I removed them as he should not have to eat with that next to his elbow.

The staff in this cafe are professional, exceptionally pleasant and helpful. They had run out smashed avocado toast at 1pm! It took a long time to get our order (nearly half an hour) and they appeared short staffed. Unsure if I would visit again.

Very poor indeed. Slow service to get 2 coffees. fruit scones didn't have any fruit in them and had to ask for cream and then again for jam. Surely, if you buy a scone then you expect the jam and cream to be served with it. Tables uncleared and it wasn't very busy.

I visited last week and ordered a smokey bacon ciabatta and tea. What i got was a tiny roll plastered in butter and grease, plus the bacon was streaky , not lean, even more fat. So much so it dripped onto my jeans. I mopped some of it with napkins and scooped out the bread plastered with butter. The tea was fine but the milk was also in a tiny jug, so mean, i thought. This cost £7 all together- i wont be back. I did complain to M&S and they said they would try and put this right for the future. Lets hope they do!

I love visiting M&S cafe after a shopping trip. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Would certain recommend when out and about in the city centre.

Had coffee with scones, jam and cream at a reasonable price in a pleasant coffee area with a view. Service quick and location bright and airy.

First time in this cafe today, ordered the avocado and poached egg on toast, cost £5.95, and they don't even give two slices of bread, just the one. This is despite pictures on their own website advertising TWO slices of toast. The eggs were also cold and i think the food was not cooked to order. I wanted to love it here but I wouldn't go back.

My husband and granddaughter went to M@S cafe today at Braehead for afternoon snack. Only one check out open waited a few minutes, had to go and find a table as cannot stand for too long. Very busy so had to chose a table for 4 as there was 3 of us, table needed cleared and cleaned. Young girl completely ignored me cleaned numerous tables round me. Eventually my husband came with food and drinks, I had to ask my granddaughter to move full dirty tray. I went over to her and said I would take cleaning materials to clean table she said she would do this, I said she completely ignored me when sitting at a dirty table, she said I had sat down at a dirty table there were clean tables, but not for 3. The lady at the next table to me said the girl had walked by me numerous times, and ignored. Appalling service, I think it was at the end of her shift, but her attitude was atrocious

Grabbed a snack before doing some shopping, wasn’t really clear how to purchase hot food, got to the till following a lengthy wait to be informed there was no chilli so opted for tuna & sweetcorn with my jacket potato, was impressed with the quality & taste of the filling though it was a bit overpriced for what it was, also impressed with the table locator we were given, but not impressed with the service, one staff member serving, one making drinks & 3 standing around whilst the queue got longer. There was an ideal opportunity to shorten the wait especially as some were elderly & frail, very disappointing! With the prevailing health issues all over the media, it would be advisable to check that all food is removed from utensils before they’re placed in the cutlery containers, would also liked to have seen the tables wiped as there were cup rings on ours! Really agree that the standards are slipping, time to buck up your ideas or your time on the high street will be limited!

Working every other day at silverburn for the next few Months already my pet hate is stopping down satairs and up stairs at Marks and Spencer some time just a coffee or lunch and each time having to ask for a buscuit with my Latte . And its a hit or miss like on Thursday after spending £22 on coffee and sandwiches asked about biscuit my coffee biscuit REPLY WAS NOT JUST NOW What does that mean to a customer after all 9 out of 10 customer have to ask Marks should either offer 100% of the time or remove the offer which is only if you know about free biscuit looks like internal decision only offer if asked and i can confirm this is west coast and east coats stores doing the same thing Its nice marks are giving free biscuit with a almost £3 coffee big thanks for this but really your pushing customers away knowing you need to ask shame

The cafe is good, the food is great although limited in choice, I especially recommend the coffee cake. The staff are professional and one young man insisted on carrying my tray unprompted because my hands were trembling due to illness.

I’m a fan of M&S stores and I like to enjoy tea and cake after browsing the shopping aisles . Recently I have been appalled at the decline in standards at both the Fort , Braehead and Argyll St cafes. Long queues, empty cake stands, no clean plates , tables left piled high with dirty plates . The staff will complain it’s all down to staff shortages and maybe that’s partly the reason , but historically staff used to feel a pride to work for M&S and its clear this is no longer the case. I have always enjoyed my trips to the silverburn branch , where staff are hard working and courteous. M&S need to look hard st their operations otherwise customers will leave and go elsewhere

In restaurant around 9.30am, ordered 2 breakfast that get they cooked to order so says the signs, waited about 15 min and 2 lovely looking breakfast are served, to say they were cold dosent do them justice,, they were ice cold think they had been in a fridge all night also served on a cold plate, very disappointed as they aren't the cheapest around, definitely not recommended

Afternoon cuppa with cake nice venue, good meet up point. Good range for lunches and afternoon tea. Nice staff. Very clean.

Serving staff were so slow and table clearance almost non existent. Residual crockery on every table, including those occupied, and residual food and packaging under a lot of them. Rubbish.

Había una buena variedad y muchas mesas disponibles, incluso cuando estuvimos allí en un día ajetreado. El servicio fue rápido y eficiente, y te brindan un pequeño dispositivo electrónico para que se siente en tu mesa para que puedan rastrearte y traer tu comida caliente, lo cual es una buena idea. The toasted sandwich was really greasy which was a shame. 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks and crisps £13. Tables were available and queue moved quickly.

Had an excellent lunch at this cafe within the M & S store. Good range of sandwiches, drinks, soup and toasted burgers to choose from. Very efficient staff and appears to be a popular place with locals.

We visited here recently for tea, coffee and afternoon snacks - all very good! we were served by a very pleasant and helpful young man and the experience overall was very good!

Decepcionados con una ubicación diferente, decidimos buscar la marca asociada a la buena comida, así que terminamos en la cafetería Marks and Spencer. Esta cafetería es apta para sillas de ruedas y hay suficientes mesas, sillas y cabinas para acomodar sillas de ruedas fácilmente con el ascensor disponible para llevarlo entre los pisos.

Had lunch here before walking tour in Glasgow. Bright, clean and good service. Reasonable prices. Recommended.

Lejos de nuestra primera visita a este Café, el sábado anterior fuimos testigos del personal quejándose de la cantidad de comida que dejaban los clientes, el plato era el desayuno durante todo el día, nadie pensó preguntar por qué la comida no se había comido, bueno hoy habiendo sufrido un tren interrumpido viaje en el que llamamos para probar el desayuno para nosotros, eran alrededor de las 9. 15, solo un puñado de clientes estaba comiendo y no había cola en el servicio hasta. La espera para que se sirviera la comida fue de alrededor de diez minutos, todo el personal que trabajaba en la sección eran empleados experimentados y no se sentían presionados dado que había muy pocos clientes en el Café. Lamentablemente, tanto la presentación como la calidad de la comida no cumplieron con los estándares esperados de M & S, los tomates se quemaron, los huevos semi hervidos se cayeron hasta el extremo mientras que la salchicha parecía no estar completamente cocida, no tenía mucho sabor. excepto el tocino, no estoy seguro de si se había cocinado a la parrilla y luego se había calentado en el microondas, por muy caliente que estuviera, no era ni una cosa ni la otra y a las 7. 95 ciertamente no fue una buena relación calidad-precio. Este Caf está utilizando un nuevo tipo de tetera, un producto americano pero hecho en China, estas teteras no tienen absolutamente ninguna propiedad térmica y el contenido es frío en cuestión de minutos. En general, toda la visita fue un desperdicio de nuestro dinero.

We had a nice casual lunch,the staff were friendly. Everything was nice and freshly made. We were given a high chair for our granddaughter with colouring in pad and pencils a new experience for her as she is only 8 months old.

Visited here to rest our weary legs while shopping in Glasgow. Very busy but served quite quickly. Ordered two soups and two pots of tea. Large seating area. As soon as I sat down the soup arrived. Very quick service. Would recommend.

We ate downstairs in the basement. All three of us enjoyed the hot salmon with salad. Excellent value for money and the friendly staff need a real pat on the back

Far too long standing in a queue for a cup of coffee. Lots of other places to choose from. The whole setup in this café is not very conducive to a relaxing cup of coffee.

I had breakfast here with a friend and it was really nice. Quite busy but tasty coffee and cake. Lovely service from the staff. Thanks, I'll be back!

Yo estaba en Glasgow el pasado viernes y almorzamos en el m s en la calle & CAFE Argyle. Como alguien con enfermedad celiaca es difícil conseguir un sándwich muy sabroso, sin embargo, la Turquía y relleno de uno en pan integral serie aquí fue excelente. Yo terminamos con un trozo de tarta de chocolate fudge, realmente bueno. Ahora sé donde comer en Glasgow a la hora del almuerzo.

Love M&S; cafe. There is a good choice of food but I especially enjoy a cheese and ham toasted sandwich.

Marcas limpias, buena variedad de tapas y tartas, etc. Puede haber un sándwich o un sabroso sandwichera. Vajilla preciosa y no "cansados".

One of favourite places for coffee and cake. A medium size required as small, too small!We enjoyed nice coffee and cold drinks, sandwiches and yummy carrot cake. I didn't enjoy the seafood selection as much as the best of British but it's good to try something different. Jerk chicken wrap delicious (we were hunger!). Great place to go with our 8 Month old baby, as high chairs and plenty of space for prams etc. Also good baby changing on the same floor. Not cheap but when it's that good you don't mind and we didn't walk away hunger!

Always visit here for coffee either pre or post a city lunch. Very typical of other M&S venues. Can often be very busy.

absolutely love the afternoon teas marks and spencers serve and for a really good price too. everything fresh and extremely filling. I now go in weekly as a little treat

We use this tearoom quite a lot when in Glasgow. Typical M and S they seem to think of everything. A reasonable selection of food and everything nice and fresh. Recommend only for a snack then off. It is a big open restaurant and does not compare to going elsewhere for a proper lunch.

This is a very popular coffee spot but luckily it is a large cafe and we always seem to find a seat even on a busy Saturday.It is self-service.The cappuccino is very good and comes with a little biscuit..My husband and I love the cheese scones and also recommend the almond croissants.

Ótimo lugar pra tomar um café e fazer um lanche. Os pratos são de muita qualidade. O preço é um pouco alto, mas vale pela qualidade.

Superb breakfast at this M&S Café at Braehead Shopping Centre. Good value for money and excellent quality food.
