Marks & Spencer Cafe in Birmingham

Time and time again the M&S cafe at Longbridge never ceases to hit the spot. Regardless of how clean it is, how lovely the food/drinks are, it is the staff - ALWAYS - who are an absolute credit to this store. If ever there was a competition for the most accommodating, friendly and customer focused staff in retail they’d win hands down. Nothing is too much trouble, they’re always super busy yet never fail to be friendly and polite (and I’m there regularly!) Most recently, special mention to Jodie and Harriet who seem to be there so often when I visit and they are honestly flying the flag for customer service!

Lovely store, great selection of food… especially those big cookies. The staff is really helpful and kind. Alesia helped a lot to get what was needed ☺️

M&S Longbridge is great! Went on the 4/4/2024 and we had fab service from all the team! Sally and her team are so friendly and accommodating and the drinks themselves were lovely!

Having missed breakfast and not wanting bread based breakfast the omlette seemed to fit the bill. That is until it arrived in a bun. Yes a BUN. Whoever thought this one up really needs to go back to basics. The "omlette " I presume was pre prepared and over cooked in the microwave. Having been in other M&S cafes this was a real disappointment I have given it 2 rating as the tea was ok. Won't be bothering to visit longbridge M&S Cafe again.

Awful! Breakfast was cold. Asked for a replacement and this was served by a bad tempered waitress and was at best tepid. Coffee was also cold. Definitely not worth the money and disappointing experience. Expected at least a basic standard and this was not delivered.

The speed, (lack of) in having a coffee served in the cafe is laborious, slow and warm on receipt. I returned my coffee stating it was warm. I was told I needed to ask for extra hot coffee rather than just coffee, ( who knew!). I have since, repeatedly, asked for hot coffee and continue to receive a luke warm one that can be gulped down in moments. Staff tell me, the new coffee machine does not serve hot coffee as their old one did. I think I need to find a hotter coffee establishment!

Stopped off for coffee/ cake with a friend. Lots of flies around the cake area, so we didn’t bother. Slow on the tills. Filthy tables, floors needed a sweep and a mop. It will not be our first choice next time!

Tables are always filthy no matter when you arrive at this cafe. And please put the rude and bad tempered dark haired waitress where she does not come into contact with the public. My three friends and I witnessed her being extremely rude to a customer. Judging From the comments from other customers, she is known for being unpleasant so I am sure management know who she is. Management really need to be more on the ball with what is going on here!

Dreadful cafe. Dirty tables. Disinterested staff. Pricey. Long waits and queues. I will not return. Paper cups if you want to sit out on the terrace.

More and more often now we are struggling to find seats because more people are using this cafe as an office! They are sitting there with one one coffee or very often with no food or drink on a table for four preventing genuine customers from sitting down. Sort this out please

Excellent service and food. Visited here for a coffee after shopping (staff helped my mother were very good also) Staff did appear rushed of their feet and understaffed but did their best. Christmas drinks selection was good and reasonably priced. Very busy within the cafe but managed to find a table that had been cleaned (again lack of staff appeared to impact the amount of tables that was able to be cleaned) Overall very good service and food. Helped by excellent parking

This particular branch of Marks and Spencer don’t like receiving bad reviews on social media so they block anyone that leaves a bad comment. The customer service in this store is absolutely ghastly! Nikki who works in homeware section is rude and simply does not want to listen to what the customer wants. When an elderly person makes a complaint, she then speaks to her Manager first to make up a version of the events before the Manager then speaks to the customer. This seems to be a pattern in how your staff work as a similar incident occurred last year where your coordinator who was rude to me spoke to her Manager first to make it sound like my complaint was completely inaccurate! You should be ashamed of yourselves for treating customers like this! Your other branches know how to handle with client enquiries but instead your branch simply want to deny bad service to keep your already existing customers who must be content with sub-standard service.

On visiting the M&S cafe high st Birmingham waited in que which was slow as only one staff member working on drinks with another just standing around Got our order and sat down … within 5 minutes a young lad told us in an abrupt manner the cafe was shut and we had to leave now! He said he didn’t know why the cafe was shutting early this was 4.50pm So with half finished drinks and sandwiches un-eaten that we paid to consume on premises we left No mention or visible signage was given prior to me ordering which turned out to be a costly eat on a cold bench outside experience Not a good experience M&S cafe Bham and judging by previous reviews you’ve learnt nothing on customer care…

This cafe was poor when it first opened and has t got any better in the four or five times I’ve visited since then. Finding a table that has been cleared can be a challenge, the service is very slow, and the level of noise of the chairs scraping in the floor is offputting. It’s very canteen-like though the prices are not congruent with a canteen; they’re high. I don’t mind that when the experience is a good one but unfortunately it is not. Go to M&S Worcester for an altogether better one

Send in ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH - absolutely unacceptable place! Filthy. No available tables due to about 30 of them being full of left over food. Tables not cleared for new customers coming into cafe, we had to sit among the dirt/filth! Also a trip/slip hazard with food all over floor too. Esp with covid still around I’d expect more cleanliness however covid doesn’t worry us too much it’s more just general hygiene!

Wow.....amazing experience. Very friendly and efficient service. The food was 1st class and arrived within 10 minutes. The staff were very busy but nothing was too much trouble. Your cafe staff are a credit to the marks and spencers at Longbridge Birmingham.

Very poor experience. Waited in the queue twenty minutes to order food. Wanted jacket potato, menu gave three options- tuna, cheese or baked beans. By the time I got to the counter only baked beans available at it was only 1:30! Only two serving hot drinks even though there were plenty of staff behind the counter. Disappointed, will not be going back

The food is over priced, thank god for the help to eat as myself and my nan got a Chicken and cheese toastie each It was soft and soggy! It had not been toasted at all it was microwaved. Thought it was called a cheese toastie as it’s meant to be toasted not soggy warm bread. Don’t bother to get one, not worth the money especially once the help to eat has stopped.
