Marks & Spencer Cafe in Newport

I have visited the cafe a few times lately and I’m sad to say the experience has got worse ! The food today was borderline inedible . My friend had the fish and chips and it was dry and “warmed up “ no attention to detail and very shoddy. Everything looked “end of day” and thrown together ! So disappointed because I love M&S

Waited far too long for a piece of tortilla with a salad, when it came salad had no dressing, young girl told me they didn't have dressing, did not come back as promised so I left the whole meal. Terrible service and food.

Avoid The lasagne Unless you want a child’s portion? For an adults meal price, we were told the portions get cut in half and that is what it is …

Sausage ciabatta...sausage cold, clear that its temperatute had not been checked. Replaced with no appology. Poached eggs & avacado on tosst Eggs hard and looked overcooked but not hot. Replaced and a pretty poor excuse given. We have been coming to this store for 20 years or more. This was a one off for us and could accept it if we were treated correctly but we were not. Its one thing to replace the sub standard food and another to display correct customer service.

Myself, sister, Dad and kids visit M&S Newport Cafe often! It is our go to place for a little lunch out when we do not fancy breaking the bank. Staff are always pleasant, food is always good and usually have everything on offer available. Cakes are tasty! It is always busy, but that is a good sign, especially around peak times. I will continue to visit regularly.

Very good food overall a 10/10. They also do the food very quickly which makes this place even better.

Staff down stairs having a talk about how to boost sales in the coffee shop. we went up to have a coffee and bacon roll , very nice. BUT MOST TABLES WERE DIRTY GLASS DIVIDER BY TABLE DIRTY WITH MILK AND COFFEE RUNNING DOEN THEM. LOOK OUT OF WINDOW WOMENS DEPARTMENT DUST AND DIRT ON TOP OF SHELVING AND WINDOW SILLS.. sales would go up if the place was clean. it's 9.30am and quiet so no excuse..

We had spent the night at the Days Inn at Magor and came here for breakfast as we had dropped our car off for a service across the road. The place was just beginning to serve and we were some of the first customers. We both had the scrambled egg with smoked salmon which was served on two pieces of crusty bread. It was very good as was the coffee. Service was quick and efficient. The place is popular because within an hour the cafe was almost full.

I visited the cafe at Spytty M and S with my mother and friend. It was a 5 pm and for a snack before going to a special cinema trip. We were told that they closed on an hour. It then took 25 minutes of chaos to get served. There was one member of staff doing everything and another just killing time until closing. We ordered chicken tikka and my mother a teacake. The tikka came in a small dish looking like it had been thrown in and microwaved. A few mini poppadoms on top. I asked for chutney to be told they had none. Bearing in mind downstairs they have a foodhall. The boy who served us could not have cared less. No tea cake arrived despite asking twice. 40 minutes after ordering it came. Very disappointing service and I now know why m and s are struggling to stay open as a business.

Visited on a weekday afternoon with my daughter. I had a latte and toasted teacake, and my daughter chose a fish finger sandwich. We both enjoyed these and we didn't have to wait long. Plenty of free tables which were clean and ready to use. However there was a collection of dirty plates around the cake display, as you enter the cafe, and this doesn't give a good first impression. It needed attention and a general clean up, the cafe wasn't that busy when we arrived so not sure why staff hadn't noticed it.

Good all rounder...food well presented, staff friendly, reasonably priced. Accessible for all, assistance provided by helpful staff if needed.

Had to wait 25 mins for toasted tea cake, by that time my coffee and patience had run out!! Shocking service

Was in Newport and really wanted A Cream tea. Popped into Spytty as M&S Cafe so a £4 Cream tea. The scones were fabulously fresh. Cream and jam were lush. Coffee was spot on. Would recommend.

I attended the M&S Newport Spytty Park cafe with my friend last week for light lunch. Easy to find upstairs. Clean & bright. Welcoming from outside as daily menu was diplayed out, also on board. Cakes and pastries are displayed in a very attractive way at the front. You order your food & drink at the till, pay for it and go and sit. They bring the food for you. There is feee cold water dispenser at the front, you help yourself. Staff very attentive. You can chose seat by the window overlooking the car park. I thoroughly enjoyed my pot of brewed tea, soap and mezza Medeteranian board. Very reasonable prices.

Gorgeous fish and chips, stir fry chicken noodles, and macaroni cheese & salad, All 3 of us enjoyed our meals - plentiful servings. Excellent value for the money. Tried a cortado coffee, expresso in a glass with warm milk. Very fast service considering it was a packed Saturday afternoon with nearly all tables taken.

We like to visit through the week. Veg is good value and fresh. Clothes can be hit or miss, but I love the cafe.

Eat here probably once a week. Always have a good meal well prepared and well served. The staff are all friendly and efficient and our continued attendance is testament to the comfort and standards provided.
