Came to Marks and Spencer for coffee, asked for our tea and tea cakes! They did not have any tea cakes, this happens frequently when going to their cafes. All they say is it’s not available on that day, but it happens frequently!!! I’ve complained for years about this, not having goats or soya milk in the cafe!! They sell it in the shop, so they do have it!!! When toast came it was warm to say the least!!! Also staff were rude, they seemed annoyed we even asked and asked why it happens a lot! We didn’t really get an answer! Also when trying to pay the lady was rude and told me I had to wait, but she was really abrupt!!! Made me feel like I was an inconvenience! If I spoke to my patients like that, I would be warned!!! When we walked to the tables not one was clean, we had sat down for about 10 minutes before they started to clear them!!! Inefficiency at its best!!!

Oh dear. I know it was a Monday morning but it seems that standards have slipped. The staff looked unhappy and stressed. The trays were wet (horrible to use) and in the wrong place. The milk jugs were thimbles. No saucers!

Wanted a quick sandwich - looked at the menu and decided on one of the ‘all day’ options. Waited for the glacially slow service at counter - only to be told that the only thing on offer was toast. While waiting noticed 50% of tables full of dirty dishes - unappealing. Staff in the back chatting and avoiding our gaze. If you are hungry or have any desire for good service - try anywhere else.

This store really needs an overhaul! It’s really tired and lets the brand down especially given the many visitors from overseas. The food-hall staff are generally appalling apart from a couple of really lovely people, and seem to see customers as a nuisance. Please sort this out M&S!

Absolutely ridiculous no saucers for our cups what will it be next no plates to have our lunch or sandwich I expect we will have to eat it off the tables.The staff takes a very long time to serve you without a smile no wonder there is always a very long queue. The disabled toilets are used by very fit people in fact 3 youths came out of the babies changing room laughing. There was a long queue of elderly disabled people. There is never anybody on the floor to ask directions were certain items are.M&S have certainly gone down hill I and my friends will not bqe useing the restaurant again until saucers are reintroduced.

Travelled by bus to get money for our holiday and bureau de change was closed, wasted money on bus fare! No one around to ask why. I did check website for opening times! Rang MS today to see if it was open today and Zak tried contacting them and no-one answered his calls either. Wont bother using them again too unreliable!

My daughters, grand-daughter and I went for a "quick" lunch at the cafe. My daughter found a table and a high chair. The table was dirty and covered with plates and cutlery. Having finally been served by an "acting manager" trying to pour drinks and take payment - unhygienic and disorganised - I took our lunch to the still uncleared table. I asked for a waitress to clear away and clean, meanwhile I cleared one tray full. She was very cross that I'd put it in the wrong place. She moved the next tray full, but said it wasn't her job to clean the table. I collected a spray bottle and paper, and had to do it myself. When I spoke to her after, she was very rude, kept turning away from me and I finally asked to speak to a manager. He was still at the till. This is lack of hygiene is disgraceful in Covid times. No-one cared - and this lack of cleanliness continued all the time we were there.

What on earth happened to Marks & Spencer Oxford? It had the ability to be this great, bustling, flagship for the brand but it’s like something that time forgot. Anyone old enough to remember C&A could be forgiven for thinking that’s where they were! It’s dull and lacklustre, everything looks grimy and past it’s best. Honestly, the store is really disappointing and needs a proper makeover. The one in Banbury is lovely, all clean and shiny and inviting so I don’t know what went wrong with this one.

Went here with my mum for a sandwich and scone. Waited for probably 5 minutes at the till for a lady to ignore us and continue to dismantle the coffee machine. Finally when asked if she could serve us she came over scanned our items, said there were no plates for us to put scones on… seems a little odd. Sitting down was a hard task as the majority of free tables still had trays/ plates on, despite no one having left since we arrived. The napkins were almost run out and we’re strewn across the counter, the tap water station was dirty. The staff were dismissive to other customers and seemed happier amusing themselves with doing anything other than serving customers. Rather disappointingly the cleanliness of the cafe was not up to standard, at least 2 members of staff who served us had filthy hands, with black all under their nails. Used to like M&S cafes but this has put us right off.

Some of the staff in the food hall are very inconsiderate. Some are just plain rude. The staff are often acting as if their job is to entertain themselves, at the expense of the customer. Mercifully, there are still some polite and well trained staff at M&S. About 50/50,I'd say. But - it should not be a lottery as to how you are going to be treated.

Ordered an emmental and mushroom toastier... it was disgusting and soggy and cannot be called a toastier at all, considering it should be TOASTED! Tried to return and was told it was because of the melted cheese! Waste of £4.50, will go to Costa next time

Visited the M&S restaurant at lunchtime, it was very busy & yet the staff on the tills were having to make the coffees as well. One of the staff then got a helper but the guy on our side - Hew - got no help at all. He did really well at getting us thru as quickly as possible but it must have been very stressful for him. M&S seriously need to invest in their workforce! Well done Hew for giving good customer service in spite of the lack of help.

Platos, mesas, sillas, cubiertos sucios. . . . básicamente todo tiene migajas o manchas en ellas. El personal es lento, mal entrenado y no se preocupa por las grandes colas sin movimiento y el sucio café. La calidad de la comida y la bebida también es bastante pobre, pero eso no es sorprendente en base a todo lo anterior. Simplemente evite, ya sea para comida o simplemente café. Ellos tampoco pueden hacerlo.

We like M&S not only we could shop for my spouse night wear which we did not have to put it in our luggage because we knew that we could buy it. After shopping at Food Hall we felt tired and we would go for our lunch. We ordered tomato soup with gluten free bread and tea. We enjoyed our time at this cafeteria to take a break for lunch. A good place to go for our favorite soup and tea.

We headed right for the children's clothing. Selection was wonderful and we found several items for our grandchildren. Had a quick lunch at their cafeteria and it was easy, tasty, bright and bustling.

After being overwhelmed by a visit to the cathedral I come here to recover in relative peace. I order a juice, soup and rolls. The soup and rolls are brought to my table with margarine, but I find I should have picked up cutlery. I always enjoy Marks & Spencer, and look out for their stores wherever I go in England. But why do they always put the men’s toilets next to the bra department??

Oh my, what on earth happened to this place! We popped in here on Bank Holiday Monday just after the usual 1PM rush as the place looked pretty quiet. Despite this, we were kept waiting for 30 minutes for two toasted sarnies (while the third person in our party blissfully ate their salad). Eventually we had to go and pester for the food, which had been sitting on the collection counter under heat lamps. Ugh.

I went there this morning for its famous "all day breakfast" at 7.95 quid a pop. A cup of tea is extra. The staff seemed very demoralised indeed. It's almost as if the caff resented customers. I ordered the breakfast but was overcharged and had to remind the staff of pricing. I think the staff are OK, but they must be under pressure for some reason or other. The breakfast itself was middling but was overpriced. The poached eggs were perfect, there were too many mushrooms, the tomatoes were absolutely lovely, the bacon was OK. The toast was almost inedible. When I said to the man who took me money he was overcharging me, he got very cross, slammed down the money on the counter and a receipt. The staff looked like they were very unloved - which is a shame.

Went to shopping at M&S; today, met an extremely rude cashier who literally just threw/banged things on the table with a long face. The old lady behind me tried to ask some question about the things she was buying, but the cashier just ignored her until probably the fourth time she asked. By far the worst experience I have ever had at M&S;.

Waited 20 minutes for two bacon rolls to be heated. Staff unable to cope and are all over the place. Also, don’t have the Peruvian coffee. It’s 20p extra and it’s supposed to be very smooth. Very weak would be more accurate!

We have visited M&S; Cafe,Oxford twice on a Sunday and both times we felt the standard has gone down.Lack of clean cutlery,napkins and glasses,staff inattentive and long waiting times for food.We ordered two toasties and waited ages,after enquiring as to their whereabouts it was obvious we had been forgotten as the member of staff suddenly started unwrapping them to be heated,When they were brought to us ,there was no apology,just a grunt!!

What can I say about M&S.; On this trip we must have visited M&S; in several towns for cream tea in the afternoon - it's a must do. Many restaurants offer a cream tea but at Marks it just seems right.

Desperate for a cup of tea and a sit down after spending 5 hours walking around Oxford, we arrived in M & S. 2 lovely pots of Earl Grey tea later plus cake, we were revived to carry on exploring the city. The place was clean, staff very helpful and busy clearing tables. Some visitors were enjoying a late lunch, others like us had opted for tea and cake.

Went here on my trip to Oxford. Bought two meals saved some drinks but couldn't find anywhere clean to sit. The place was filthy. Floor, chairs, tables, everywhere was full of spilled food - on chairs, under tables and chairs and all over every area of the food. It was shocking and if I had noticed before I got my food, I would have let. The tables need to wiped down and floor cleaned more frequently. It needs a visit from health and safety and I plan to make a complaint. They are not on the ball with cleaning at all. Never seen a more dirty cafe or restaurant in my whole life.

This m&s; cafe is the best we have been to. It was clean and the cake options were well stocked. However, would appreciate more individually wrapped cakes as someone in front lifted the lid off some of the cakes and coughed all over them I was put off!!!. As a result we had spiced iced buns!!!!!!.

Our group of 4 been walking around Oxford for hours and decided to take a relaxing break in the M&S; Cafe for afternoon tea before resuming our tour of the University Colleges. The young man "in training" gave us excellent service and we enjoyed a really delicious afternoon tea. The complimentary biscuits which came with our hot drinks were quite a surprise and a lovely touch, Great customer service M&S;.

It seems the food hall is rearranged to deliberately confuse regular customers. For example, with some supermarkets, the marketing staff realise that customers want to know exactly where to find food items during each visit - in the same aisles consistently. This saves the customer time - get in and get out with the least amount of stress.

Although there are numerous cafe etc. in Oxford this is our snack/watering hole of choice when shopping in the town centre. Always nice toasties, tea (enough for 2 in a pot) and coffee. Always clean and tidy with fair pricing.

So many people like M&S; cafeterias - they're always well patronised. We like tea & cake - good tea (a pot gives two cups) - and they have some super cakes/gateaux. Also good for lunch type food. Clean and reasonable prices. Pleasant staff.

It was like a well oiled piece of machinery. I was asked by the lady making the coffee and tea if I wanted a hot drink and I ordered a latte. The lady in front had just finished paying and I moved along to pay for mine. I paid and there was my latte waiting for me.

I have ordered coffee 4 times there over the last 6 months, and everytime it has been undrinkable. The Americano in particular is bitter water with no taste of coffee. I noticed that their espresso brewhead is much shallower than most coffee machines, so they pack much less coffee than in other cafes. I had coffee with other people here and all have the same complaints. The cakes and pastries are fine though, that's why I give it a 2.

Extremely inefficient staff. Very very slow service at an off-peak time. Seems the two staff on shift are either clearly trainee or just clueless. The girl keeps hiding when one or two people walk in. Customers walking out!!
