Only ordered drinks and chips as no one at till service there was ok no problem but waiting 15 mins or so for chips and i reminded them could be a lot better here also prices expensive for drinks and cakes

Ordered a cafe late with a extra shot, lady serving was great , BUT THE COFFEE WAS THE WORST CUP COFFEE IVE HAD IN MY LIFE , it was that horrible I actually believe I was scammed or suffered a fraudulent experience. M&S was once known for their quality , well I’m here to inform you that BUS has well and truly left , a very very very poor -15 star negative , never to be visited again

I cannot praise the team enough for being so helpful and pleasant in the restaurant they go far beyond anywhere we have been . From the moment we entered till the moment we left .Thank you we will definitely be back again soon .

M and S need to up their game. The cafe is not a good experience. Management won't listen to bad reviews I'm assuming because it's always busy so why bother? Last week when I visited the only filling available for baked potato was beans! No chilli left at 12noon and bizarrely no cheese! In a shop that has a food hall. Very odd. Toasty soggy. It's a shame because people love M and S but with their completely scaled down menu they will lose loyal customers. They need a massive overhaul of the menu. Speaking of which, is in very small writing behind the tills that is barely legible. Queuing is bizarre. I'd had a poor experience a couple of months before and thought you know what I'll give it another chance. Just as bad last week. Not going back anytime soon. This is a plea to the Management. Customers deserve better.

A respite stop after shopping in the store. The food and drink are so so but what lets the place down is the queueing system for both seating and ordering. It means that virtually all customers are grumbling or even angry before they’re seated.

Called in for a coffee and small bite to eat while shopping. We were intending to eat later so we’re just looking for something quick and tasty. Dismayed to find dirty floors, tables not cleared and food second rate. I had soup and my wife had a crumpet. Neither were particularly pleasant and we will certainly not go back. Staff were pleasant and friendly but the environment and food quality was certainly disappointing. Marks and Spencer used to be regarded as a nice place to go. I can honestly say that this is no longer the case.

Had a bacon bun each. Very disappointed. Size was very small in comparison to out last visit, I'd say at least half the size but for the same price.

Absolutely shocking service. We ordered toastie & chips. Almost 40 minutes later, they admitted they’d mistakenly given our food to someone else & not bothered to make more. When the food eventually came out, the chips were luke warm & clearly cheap oven chips. The toastie was so small & it was burned. I’m disabled & in a wheelchair. The amount of times staff have marched past and actually kicked my chair is ridiculous. I would never come here again.

We came for lunch before shopping. Of the 2 queue positions, usually only one is working. The overhead menu board and the one small poster are all in very small writing and difficult to read while queuing. All food mentioned is hot - apparently no salads. I found out afterwards some salads and sandwiches are in a fridge which is hidden behind the queue! My falafel wrap was very spicy and the wrap bread unpleasant. My partners chicken ciabatta was over cooked and not that great. Black coffee was very weak. The only table available resembled a monkeys tea party. We eventually attracted someone’s attention and got it cleaned up. We have been before many times and enjoyed much better food, albeit always in an understaffed, disorganised fashion. What have you done to your food M&S?

Staff run off their feet and the cafe is obviously understaffed. One person waiting tables and one clearing tables, both working their socks off. 40 minute wait for food (2 x Scampi & Chips) and lukewarm when it finally arrived. Didn't fancy another 40 minute wait so got full refund without quibble and went to Greggs. Not M&S quality . Staff doing their best but not supported by management.

Very busy, we had to wait in a long queue to get served and then a good wait for the food to be brought to our table. The coffee was good but the rest of our food was average at best, and overpriced for what it was.

Cafe very busy but staff were cool calm and collected and despite being rushed off their feet. Food was pretty good too.

My friends and I decided we would do the new Afternoon Tea deal last Sunday. We waited until just after 2pm & I joined the horrendous cafe queue while my friends found a table. 20mins later I finally got served! We then waited 40mins for the food part of the tea to arrive, by which point we'd finished the hot tea. When it arrived, it was served on different sized plates because the cafe had run out of the serving stands! We did get more tea due to the long waiting time. Due to having cinema tickets, we had to wrap our scones up & take them with us for later. To sum up, there did not appear to be enough staff working, either to serve customers or to bring food out & clear tables. Doubt that we would do this again.

Rating of 2 out of 10. Dirty table had to clean myself the heavy soil but then had to ask for spray cleaner to be used. Not really what you expect from a leading chain. The wife and I visit once a week but looks like may have to find somewhere else.

Visited Marks and Spencers cafe at Chilwell Retail Park Notts on 23/08/2022 only word to describe it as FILTHY. Dirty tables, the floor was covered with discarded food and even the chairs were not clean, to make matters worse although it was 22 degrees outside you needed a coat on in the cafe. So for sure I shall not be visiting this place again. Certainly not Marks and Spencers standard.

Visited sat 23rd July plenty of empty tables but all piled up with dirty pots . Finally got served by a young lady who I felt embarrassed for , believe she was in training but nobody with her , struggled with the till , struggled with some requests . Got served eventually while sat down at a table i cleared myself observed a young lady table cleaning with no idea . Carry odd glasses or cups in twos . Why she didn’t get a tray ! She moved the slowest I have ever seen anyone move . Lots of people shaking their heads in amazement. Come on teeside get your act together.

This is the second time I have tried sourdough poached eggs and avocado. Really cold toast not toasted. A few leaves thrown on the side. What is happening in this cafe as newcastle is much better. Think it’s about time someone took responsibility for this cafe . Staff seemed run of their feet.

A terrible experience. We waited ages to be served. The server, Nicolina, was too busy talking to her colleagues to listen so I had to repeat my order several times. Too ages to come. Sausage sandwich was average and cold. The sourdough, avocado and poached eggs arrived with no eggs. I mentioned it and she said she would take it away and correct it. We’d waited forever so I said no and off she went. Why couldn’t she bring a couple of poached eggs? The table next to us sent their jacket potatoes back for being cold. Never ever again.

I always thought I would be able to rely on a certain standard at M&S but sadly this was not the case at Teesside Park. After queueing for over 25 minutes, we sat down with our drinks and waited for the food to arrive which took around another 15 to 20 minutes. I ordered a jacket potato with beans but unfortunately the potato was not cooked and almost raw in the middle. There was certainly not enough staff on to cope with demand so I had to wait quite some time in order to return the food to the kitchen. I was offered another potato but by this time my husband had finished his lunch and it would’ve taken far too long. They were good at refunding the money promptly but it was a disappointing visit. I would not normally post such negative comments but we then visited the M&S café at the Middlesbrough store just two weeks later and the standard of service and hygiene there was sadly lacking and in view of this I am now questioning whether to visit M&S Cafes in the future or try elsewhere.

Always have chicken and vegetable soup but now have the seasonal Turkey and vegetable soup and the Turkey was mostly fat and gristle. As I love the food at M&S I am very disappointing. Shame that the company supplying this for M&S are letting them down with cheap ingredients.

The last time we visited this café was back in 2014. Recently we stopped off here for a quick bite to eat around lunch time. It was very busy but we managed to find a small 2 seater table.

I visit Teesside park m & s cafe regularly and do my shopping at the same store. However on this occasion the staff seemed very polite but found it acceptable to serve my tea in a broken teapot. I would expect better standards from m & s especially with basics. I didn't complain at the time as it had been a very long day so I sent an email to m & s and spoke to them on live chat but I really wish I hadn't bothered, they were extremely rude and really weren't interested which is such a shame. I wouldn't have put a review on here if I'd been treated with some common decency when I complained needless to say m & s have lost another loyal and regular customer I'd rather spend my money somewhere else.

We waited 25 minutes to be served a slightly warmed chicken dish. Though the quantity of chicken was minimal mostly potato. Should have gone to one of the far better alternative eating places. Wont repeat this mistake again.

Dropped in here for a pair of sausage buns. Excellent bun with a decent amount of sausage. Earl grey tea was good as was the latte. Marks and Spencers are starting to turn things around at their cafes at last.

Fuimos aquí hoy (Sábado) por primera vez por un tiempo. Desde la última vez que estuve aquí no han tenido una renovación, por desgracia no para mejor. Hay menos mesas o es mucho más concurrido. Las mesas son más pequeñas de lo que solía ser, y más en la tienda mientras que antes era más independiente, así que no es tan agradable como lugar para sentarse. Las mesas también están hasta el punto de ser peligroso donde los pasillos son insuficientes debido a la gente sentada en ellos I. e sólo funciona cuando no hay nadie en las mesas, así que no creo que vaya las mediciones a la derecha.

The toast and hot drink deal is good value ( cant remember price). All the food in cafe can be bought in store to be cooked at home. Only downside is 2/3 times i go, it is too busy and i have to leave.

Normally love the M&S cafes but this one was everything against their high standards. Ordered a toastie and a ceaser salad, the lady brought only the salad out and no toastie. She argued that there was not toastie on the order yet when we handed her the receipt- she walked away with no apology. After a 25 minute wait, we complained to another lady who politely said she would sort this. However, after a further 10 minutes we receive the food, which at this point the salad was finished. Totally unorganised staff who have no idea what's going on alongside poor service- no apology received whatsoever.

Ordered 'beer battered' fish & chips twice, macaroni & kids meaty pasta (hubby had wanted chicken & leek pie but it came with mash & when I asked if this could be swapped for chips I was told no). What can I say? The fish had never met beer batter in its life, I only wish I had remembered to photograph the atrocity we were served. Fish that looked & tasted like a piece of cardboard, anaemic chips & a watery green puddle (mushy peas apparently) thrown in for good measure. The meaty pasta & macaroni for the kids had been zapped in the microwave till lukewarm & received a lukewarm reaction in return. Finding it hard to believe any of what we were served is actual food from M&S food hall, however we certainly paid over the odds. We were so disappointed we skipped doing our food shop there & went to a neighbouring supermarket instead.

Decided to try this venue again after the last visit when we had to queue when there were seats available. This situation has not improved - what a waste of a member of staff to direct visitors to their table. The coffee was undrinkable - I have black coffee and it was so weak it was opaque. Ordered jacket potato with chilli. Jacket potato was hard and chilli was served with a teaspoon. With a couple of lettuce leaves 2 small tomatoes and dressing. Such a shame as the portions used to be good. Good job the coffe made up for it

After using this and other M&S's and getting bored of the food, they have finally stated to change the menu a little. Needs to change a bit faster before we go back a lot but it is a step in the right direction.

Attempted afternoon tea her this afternoon at 2pm. After waiting to be seated for approximately 20 minutes when there was at least 10 empty tables we where informed that there was no clotted cream for the scones and no alternative. Why promote and offer a product at the front of the cafe which you are unable provide. The whole cafe appeared untidy with disorganised staff rushing around. very very disappointed

Popped in for a cup of tea and a toastie before the onslaught of shopping. It is alright but the menu does not change enough. The earl grey tea at Costa is better and the prices are similar. However, does make a change from the Costa.

Chaos food hadn't arrived after half an hour ( only wanted a jacket potato and a toastie) when we asked how long it would be staff said another 15 minutes or so. No apology or explanation customer were getting refunds and walking out as couldn't wait any longer. we recieved a free drink when we asked for one but none offered. Staff in a flap and not controlling the situation at all. We complained to the store manager who was a complete waste of time again no explanation or apology. Would have expected more from marks and Spencer's.

Whenever I go to M&S Cafe at Teesside Retail Park Stockton on Tees it always disappoints!!!Clearly the seating area is too small and too cramped,don't go peak as it is not the most relaxing place for a coffee break/snack whilst shopping. Do you really want to queue for 5 minutes (at the least), only to find they have run out of trays and hardly any choice of cakes and scones because the stock has not been replenished. Don't ask for toasted tea cakes because by the time they are served you have either drank your tea or it has gone cold! The staff are run off their feet and cannot cope to deliver any kind of acceptable customer service. Many a time I have had to clear a table before I have sat down, wait for cutlery and crockery because the kitchen staff are stretched! Methinks sometimes it would be better to buy from the food store and wait until I get home to have a 'cuppa'.This is not just my opinion. I hear many other people voicing the same concerns.

One of the things I like about M&S Cafes is the familiarity of the products on offer, the decor and the welcome. Although one has to queue at busy times the wait is rarely more than 5 or 6 minutes. The food is always of good quality and is always well presented. Beverages are consistently good ( I always ask for extra tea bags as I prefer 'Builders's Tea' and I always get them). Prices are very reasonable -- Tea for two and two scones with butter and jam for £7 -- excellent value. One criticism -- M&S would you please try to avoid cramming too many tables in your cafes!!

Jacket potatoes were very well done as if they had been reheated and then reheated again. The fillings we chose although tasty were not hot, only luke warm. The other snack we had was a toastie which was not properly toasted and had only been toasted on the top.The service was reasonable as there were a lot of people at lunch time.

I've been to many marks cafe over the country and this one is by far the best, fast, very well organised by staff running the cue by making sure with the colleges first there is a table for you, very clean and the polite staff! Well done Teesside marks cafe this is how it should be done! Your York branch which is the worst I've ever been to should send there staff here for training. I will be back :)

Me and my family of six had a wonderful visit at the M&S cafe today. Customer service was superb to say the least, in particular Tracy and Lizzie who I strongly recommend for a promotion. If there were more staff like these two the world would be a better place.

Marks and Spencer's should be ashamed of themselves in respect of the service they provide at this cafe. There does not appear to be a system in place, too few staff, nil leadership ..... I could go on.Whilst food was ok, rather pricey, as you might expect for M&S, the service and overall experience was simply appalling.Customers should not have to clear their own tables, they should not have to listen to complaints from staff about their management, they should not have to observe chaos. Customers want to enjoy a relaxing experience with decent food, drink and service. Sorry, but you won't get it here and this has been our experience on two occasions now. We will not be returning. Get a grip M&S - surely you must read the reviews and listen to your complaints.

Never been so humiliated in my life as when I went into this cafe with my daughter in law and 12 week old granddaughter who was desperately hungry and needed feeding. There were empty tables of which I sat at 1 to start and feed baby while my daughter in law got the drinks and food. To my utter disgust a very very rude assistant came over and told me in no uncertain terms that as we hadn't already got our drinks I would have to leave. I have never been so taken aback by someone's attitude and rudeness in my life, my daughter in law was in tears. I did leave after a few hares words to the assistant and on our way out we bumped into the store manager (as per her name badge) who I also complained to. Her only response before walking away was ' well that's our policy'. Well! If that's the case it should be clearly indicated which there was no sign of. My main complaint is of the rudeness and attitude problem of the member of staff, and the attitude of the manager also left a lot to be desired too by just wandering off from a customer. I will certainly not be returning here. By the way, we went across the road to Costa Coffee where they couldn't be more helpful.

Called in for a cappuccino with the BOSS after shopping.They were really delish with a free biscuit, great. Nice and clean with good friendly service. Variety of dishes, sarnies and cakes.

This m&s cafe is pretty decent if you excuse the large lunchtime queues and annoying buzzer system. the food is pretty nice and drinks are cheap and cheerful.staff are always friendly. that's all i can say to be honest. would possibly return even though the menu is terrible

This cafe is usually very busy and expect to queue at lunch time. The food is good if a little overpriced and the cafe is pleasant, but a bit cramped. It desperately needs to be extended to cope with demand and will need to up its game if there is ever a good competitor appears on the park. Its also time M&S sorted out the drinks problem, waiting behind people while they have coffee made is very annoying. Best cafe on Teesside Park by far.

Long queues and then told 20 mins wait for hot food. Took a chicken salad sandwich and an egg and cress. Tasteless doughy bread and practicality no filling. Coffee like coloured water. Probably because there is no competition they think they can get away with this. Oh yes, the tables were clean but had all debris wiped onto the chairs. Would have given no stars if this had been possible.

Don't get me wrong, the food at m&s is always good. However, it seems whatever m&s cafe I go to the service is very poor.I suggest if you don't want to wait 30 minutes for a toastie go somewhere else, or get a scone!John Lewis has far better service!

Took my mother in law for tea and scones and we weren't disappointed. The scones were delicious and fresh and the tea was lovely. We were seated and served straight away. The cafe was lovely and clean. I wouldn't hesitate in going again and I have been lots of times before, I love it!

Went to cafe for afternoon tea two weeks ago.The tea was lovely and good value. The service was terrible.One person was serving coffee and taking money.One was filling the chilled food cabinet, the rest were just stood around mainly talking.It took over 10 minutes for my afternoon tea to arrive - all they had to do was arrange it on a cake stand.Dirty cups/plates were not cleared away, I would have said at least a third of the tables had some on which is bad, especially at 6 o'clock. Lunch time is worse, it appears only one person clears tables at such a busy time.I like going to M &S cafe but with the service as it is I might go elsewhere.
