Marks and Spencer Cafe in North East Lincolnshire

The cafe is supposed to open at 9am. We arrived at 9.10am and stood outside the barrier. The cafe staff ignored us and only told a gent who tried the barrier that they weren’t opening until 9.30am. Obviously things happen and delays occur; but it would have been better customer service if they even put a note on the opening times board advising of the delay. Wholly unimpressed & went elsewhere.

Always good service and quality food at Marks & Spencers. Mince piesa to die for, no not fed up with them yet !!

Although the range is fairly limited,the staff here are very helpful, making the whole experience of eating here a pleasure

Went in the café this morning for a hot drink and you would not believe that they had no white sugar, this was the second week, Told that they were awaiting a delivery from the suppliers.I'm surprised that M&S have not sacked the suppliers. What was wrong with taking afew bags from the food downstairs.

Ordered 2 cappachinos 1 hot the other slightly warm, when mentioned to a member of staff was told well you have drunk some, erm yes that's how he knew it was cold she removed the cup still with a good amount in, was expecting another to be brought out but no..and as it was busy the other half wouldn't say anything and walked out..so not very impressed.

Food ok.. sandwiches and a drink ... But the cafe is way too . Staff okay but need to move a little bit quicker especially at busy periods. The toilets, whilst clean, need to be repaired... Two of them the hand driers were faulty. I feel that marks and Spencer are surviving by the name alone, and need to improve

The coffee is very good but the staff seem disinterested,,the tables are way too close together, and the place has an atmosphere of hassle rather than relaxation.

I have come here many times for lunch and have always had good service, whenever ordering hot food it has always come quickly and well presented.

Tables were covered in used cups, probably because the self-clear shelf unit was full and nobody took any notice. Thus they had run out of saucers. The coffee was weak and barely lukewarm. I won't be going again. It was not just a foul-up, but an M&S foul up

First time in here. Just popped in for a pot of tea. Very very disappointed. Small and cramped surroundings. Cheap and nasty furniture. So noisy it was difficult to hear yourself think. No pots of tea, just cups. Tiniest pot of milk, totaly insufficient. No hot water. Very poor standard.

After waiting behind a "queue" of two people for 15 mins was served a black coffee with what can only be described as a film of "scum" across the top of it which my partner tasted then left due to the taste. Full of dirty uncleared tables, I realize this is a clear yourself cafe but as has been said before if the staff give a couldn't care less attitude so will the customers, and then they'll stop coming, as have we!

Four ladies serving, few customers, only about ten in the cafe including my wife and I. I found a clean table at the 4th attempt. The storage rack was filled to overflowing with trays that customers had returned. Customers were taking their trays to the rack, doing a U turn and returning to their table to leave their dirty dishes there. One of the employees was out front, chatting to her mates. An elderly couple next to us were upset because they couldn't return their tray. "We always clean up after ourselves," said the gent. Grimsby is dying as a town and there is no wonder that customers don't frequent even the big stores. No-one is supervising these employees and ensuring they do their work diligently. We chose this cafe over Costa because we avoid the high street chains if we can, but never again shall we come here. Truly shocking. I searched for a person in authority to show the mess to but there were none to be seen.

We stopped in for a snack and the place is quite small but busy, the staff seemed to struggle and some customers waited a lot longer than they should have for their food. We had Cheese scones which were really nice

Always great service and top quality food from the M&S food hall. A brilliant place to stop in between shopping.

Ordered 2 broccoli and stilton soups total cost £8 waited 25 minutes for only 1 to be brought out it was lovely and thick but at best it was luke warm so sent it back , having waited a further 10 minutes both soups arrived this time piping hot but actually resembling dish water not the thick soup that first arrived no apology was given for the long wait in a fairly empty cafe . We definitely won't be wasting our money in here again

Small little cafe, always busy but manageable to get a seat. Friendly staff and willing to cater any dietry needs.

The best thing is the fresh Cheese scones and a latte .... Always good and freshly made. A good variety of sandwiches and so clean and fresh looking.

Hoy llamamos para un bocadillo, mi marido tenía una sandwichera y tuve sopa de tomate y albahaca, y cafés. Nos estaban esperando, personas que trodat llegó después de nosotros nos sirven! Lovely coffee shop, no matter where in the country you visit, the M&S; cafe is good. The one here in Grimsby is no exception, toasted sandwiches are always good.

Good quality snack food, cakes and coffee. The seats could do with being a bit more comfortable! Small cafe, good quality

Visited Sunday 18th September. Staff disgruntled over 'lunch' breaks, which was obviously as important as serving customers. took 7 minutes, no queue, for 1 Tea & 1 Coffee oh plus 2 scones.

WOW WEE - never ever fails to impress. From ordering to receiving your food there is nothing you can complain about. The food is healthy, wholesome and nutritious and delicious. Food is well presented and the drinks are heaven!

Pasó por algunos suministros y cogí y un café. Café era bastante bueno. La selección de cervezas que tienen es fantástico así que recogió algunas muy buenas.

Aparecimos a las 2 de la tarde para tomar un café y algo de comer. Pedí un sandwich tostado y mi marido pidió un té, tarta, luego nos tomamos un café y un capuccino con un pedazo de tarta de coco y Lima para compartir. Las bebidas eran de hecho mientras estábamos en la cola, y luego llegó mi sandwichera en la mesa. Por desgracia era frío por dentro, así que se lo llevó de vuelta, sin pensarlo la señora dieron otra fuera de la estantería y lo preparó para mí. Esta vez fue excelente. La escala también era bueno. Compartimos el pastel y fue realmente delicioso.

My husband ordered a latte and was very pleased with it, I had peppermint tea and it was exactly what it said on the tin! Fruit scone with cream and jam was soft and easily demolished!

Great cafe always got a good atmosphere good service and the food choice and coffee is great and good value

The cafe is on the small side and at the far end of the first floor...it has a resonable choice of tea and coffee and snacks. I had toasted tea cake and cup of tea. The food was nice it tastes like m an s quality. Price was a little more than other cafe but you do get the m and s quality. If you only had a few minutes spare i would avoid due to the lack of seats...you will nore than likely be waiting around to get one. All in all i would go again if around the store.

I love the M&S cafe they serve great food and the service is always brilliant. The only thing is that it's often so super busy you can't get a table and have to go elsewhere (the queues stretch for miles out the door!) It's a shame they can't extend the dining area. Maybe then they could also extend the menu to include other dishes as other M&S cafe's have? Just a thought! The Grimsby hospital M&S is massive compared to the town center one which seems odd!

Great cafe and range of eats and drinks. Very popular with all ages. Very busy at lunchtimes. They do a great cream tea and sandwich collection.

The coffee and food was nice. Slightly pricy at 2.50 for a small slice of cherry slice but it was nice. A shame that the cafe is next to the public toilets as this is all i could smell whilst sat eating. A one off is fine but nothing special.

I went to buy a sandwich at hospital guess the price £3.00 + I also required a cup hot water £1.35 as they have to charge for same price as tea it is disgusting ill people here not the rich

Went a couple of times this last trip, but didn't like it as much as I used to. Not sure but I think they have reduced the size of it making the seating feel a little cramped. The selection was very very limited as well and I found the quality to be a bit hit and miss. Don't think I will go again.

The food is not exceptional but it is of a good standard and perfectly acceptable for a snack whilst shopping. Choose your times as it can get fairly busy in the restaurant.

The service in the cafe varies greatly depending on how busy it is, and the time of day. If you catch it before or after lunch, you'll have no problems, but around lunch time, tables become laden with used food cartons, cups and saucers that are not cleared away promptly by the staff, making it quite a challenge to find a decent, clean table.

Went for snack lunch. Staff friendly and helpful bug seating inadequate and difficult to find as too busy. Think that would be a good sign. Coffee ok, jacket potatoe had an armour plated skin but chilli was tasty that I had it with. Self clear nog we'll run as tables nog always clean. Summary.... Disappointed

Went to the cafe for food looked tidy and staff looked well presented food is good But ... the rule for the cafe is you cannot get a table and a seat until you have purchased your food so in a que with a loaded pushchair keeping an eye on a 3 year old and trying to pik food at the same time and pay. Then when you buy the food all the tables are gone just a bad system and very unwelcoming decore.

It's always a good place to go early morning or late afternoon, if your going for lunch not so good (not enough space, tables or room.

great place for a drink and snack ,may be a bit dearer than some places but quality is always good.there tea has avery good taste and i found out that is there own brand Gold Blend which they sell in their food store.their scones and buns are always fresh.,because it is not a big restaurant it gets very busy but it is worth the wait for a very enjoyable cup of tea.plus you get a loyalty card giving you a freebie after so many visits.

The entire experience was a bit of a shock.i was hungry and thirsty.the order was simple but too much excitement crept in when i saw mango smoothie on the board! In goes the order and product was as sweeter and thicker than a hundred cubes of sugar melted in a pot!the girl did not know that what she poured out of the packet was concentrated mango juice syrup!
