Marks and Spencer Cafe in Carmarthenshire

Enjoy popping in for cappocinos and scones but since new coffee machines installed the coffee is luke warm, ugh. Needs sorting out, plenty people complaining !!!Sad as love M&S.

OK food when it came was good, but by the time it arrived had finished my drink had to get water which they supply but would have liked drunk and meal together, they don't seem to have much organisation here, being busy was the excuse but it's like that every lunch time.

Standards have declined in M&S cafes, its like sitting in a transport cafe, no saucers serviettes are ultra thin and spoons on tables is so tacky. Prices are extortionate and coffee is not good. Staff are very pleasant and helpful and do a good job, unfortunately its Costa for us from now on.

Food and staff are lovely but the queue is horrendous. Half hour queue last time because the staff serve, man the till and make coffees. It's not rocket science have a member of staff just making hot drinks because that's the cause of the delay. Especially annoying if you don't want hot drinks!

Before I went to marks and Spencer cafe I went into boots and I saw a little girl age 7 years old shopping with her mother obviously the 7 year old girl was play truancy because all of primary school in Carmarthen were open since no teach training. I had a bowl of chips from. Cafe. When we were done shopping I saw one little boy age 10 years old and girl 8 years old shopping with their mother obvious they also were playing truancy from their primary school. And when took the trolley to car park to unload the shopping there were two little kids a little girl age 4 years and little boy 3 years by pay toilets with also play truancy from their primary school. Why where these parents take kids out of primary school to go shopping when the kids should in their primary schools and not playing truancy.

Called in after doing some christmas shopping. Wish we hadnt. The queue was long but decided to join. Had to wait 3 quarters of an hour before being served. The chap doing the drinks and "Andrew" who was miserable only argued and spoke over each other. Not very professional. I asked for a candy cane latte, only to be told a negative "no" as the ice machine wasnt working. I said I didnt mind the ice and he just looked at me as if I had asked for his kidney. The poor lady behind me was struggling and couldnt stand for longer. I could hear others at the queue tutting and most were walking away. Need more staff here! Take a look at my local in Aberystwyth - they are amazing.

The service here is terrible! There is never enough people serving and the people who work the tolls are also the ones making the coffee! You can literally wait over 30 mins for a coffee! Definitely not worth the wait. Majority of the staff are rude and could not care less about the wait times! Safe yourselves precious time and go to Costa!!

This visit was shocking. Waited in the queue which was obstructed by a big delivery stock trolley which was half unpacked and just left in everyone’s way. Then ordered the drinks at the tills and the two young girls didn’t know how to make them. We sat down and waited while they looked through a book of drinks recipes (fair enough i have sh*t memory too). The cafe manager (think it was) was walking around the cafe floor shouting orders to the girls behind the bar. Just seemed really unprofessional and disruptive. She then brought over a autumn spiced latte which was absolutely DOUSED in like chocolate or cinnamon whatever it was. Literally was making me choke, verging on asthma attack. They made us a new one and then forgot a whole drink. Went back up again to ask and the girl behind the bar shouted to her colleague across the cafe floor to ask (poor attitude) when we handed the receipt to her and she could clearly see we had ordered it. She took another 10 mins to make this and it arrived full of gritty chocolate and tasting like cardboard. Poor

Karen you are amazing! I went here a few days ago to get some work done on my laptop and I was struggling to find the wifi and Karen went absolutely over and above to make sure I had everything I needed. Also, just watching her with other customers is so lovely - we need more people like her in the world♥️ Thank You Karen!

The endless wait in the queue when there were only 9 people in front of me seemed excessive, the staff didn't seem to know what to do .

We popped in here about 10.0am last Friday for a Bacon Roll and a Coffee. Contrary to previous reports we commented how wonderful the girls on duty were !!! We were served by happy smiling people, and a beautiful cup of coffee and delicious Bacon Rolls...in fact we found this whole store Very well managed especially The Food Hall. Well done M&S.

They really need the way they organise serving. Long queues for coffee, even longer waits if you order food. They have such a slow complicated system

I’m a regular visitor to this cafe and I really cannot fault the food but the service is absolutely terrible. I was there on Saturday,it wasn’t really busy and there were 4 women behind the counter attempting to serve but they appeared to be disorganised with no one in charge. Many tables had not been cleared and there were no trays available. A manager came and joined the queue and he did nothing to assist as the queue just grew longer. Very disappointed maybe they should go and visit the Carmarthen branch for training. Visiting here is never a great experience!

No matter how long or short the queue in the cafe is, it always takes forver to finally be served. The scones and coffee are great though. Just annoying seeing everyone frustrated in the line when it can clearly be done quicker with a little coordination

The service was very slow and none of the tables had been cleared of dirty dishes. No saucers available when we ordered our coffee. The floor had not been cleaned, and when the girl came to clear the dirty dishes she did not wipe the table. I will definitely not visit again,.

my wife and I are regular visiters to cafe calling most sundays,coffee and sandwiches very nice as are the scones.

We were famished after a busy morning shopping,with a 5 month old baby.Decided to feed her while we waited for our order,to be served.Staff seemed very busy,and no smiles today.After a very long wait,a woman came over to apologise.She had to go down to food hall to get sauce for the dish.After another wait,the bowls were placed on the table.Couldnt believe what they gave us,it was burnt broccoli,noodles and chicken.My dish 1/2 portion,looked as though someone had scraped it out of burnt saucepan. We were so disappointed ,and left hungry.Service was poor,food was bad.

Me and my Mother visited here one morning and the seating is very nice with nice clientelle calling here,really designed for the more mature person with a companion not the place really for a large family to eat out.Nice toastie very tasty.

This was the first visit for me and an enjoyable one. The coffee hit the spot and the jacket potato meal was absolutely perfect. Food was well presented and hot and delicious. A good place to have a tasty bite or just a coffee whilst shopping. I look forward to a return visit.

Cafe staff chatted loudly and continuously amongst themselves with little regard for the customer. There was little regard for customer service. My drink was dropped down on the counter whilst the member of staff wondered off. M and s needs to go back to basics

Decided to eat here as we know m &s; are clean and we like the food.

Called in for cuppa and toast best toast in area café sometimes very busy but worth the wait if you got the patience.

After queuing close on 40 minutes for coffees, we thought we may as well have a breakfast. It was disgusting. Over cooked mushrooms, eggs that could of bounced off the plate and hard cold toast.

I visited for a quick drink after i had collected my daughter from school.I don't visit as often as I used to because the service is so poor, and to be fair, at least this is consistent. We waited in the queue for about 20 minutes, and there was about 6 customers ahead of us. There were tables that had cups and plates that needed collecting and cleaning. I was so bored and frustrated whilt waiting that I was going to collect them myself. When a member of staff appeared, there was no urgency or realisation that basic duties needed attention.

I called here with a family member whilst shopping at Trostre. We ordered tea and jacket potatoes with beans. The jacket potato came with a side salad. The food was lovely however I think the seating arrangements of the café needs to be looked at. The tables are crammed very close together making it difficult to have a relaxing break away from shopping. This also poses a greater health and safety risk when food/drinks are carried to tables. I also think a staff member should organise seating as there is no guarantee of having a seat at the moment and many people keep seats whilst another person pays for the food. I think having a system in place would cause a lot less stress for customers as well as staff. I would call here again but only when the store had just opened to ensure a less stressful experience.

Fui con m marido aquí, pero la verdad es peor. Café Fforesfach Las mesas estaban llenas de platos sucios, pedí un café con leche y una taza de agua, me dieron el agua caliente en la primera, pero tuvimos que esperar para una chica para hacer un batido y luego que eventualmente mi café con leche. Esto duró casi cinco minutos de mí parado en el mostrador cuando había otros personal que no había sido entrenado. barista

Can you get the incorrect jacket potato 3 times? You can here! The ladies were really nice, but lacking in the memory front. When the correct order eventually came - it was quite nice. The coffee was absolute rubbish though.

Pleased to say that the staff were exceptional, they had a lovely selection of fresh gluten free sandwiches and cakes, good selection of hot and cold drinks, great service and good price exactly what you expect from M

My mother myself daughter and grandson went there for high tea,it was everything a high tea should be Three tiered sandwich holders well stocked with macaroons and tuna and chicken sandwiches and triple choc layer cake,delicious!

I went for food here with a family member in August. We ordered a jacket potato with beans and two scones. We also ordered two soy lattes. I found the person serving was rather abrupt which is why I have given a 4 rating instead of 5. The food itself was good and the jacket potato didn't take too long to arrive. Even though it was very busy tables were cleared quickly and efficiently once customers had left.

we walked out of one shop and found we were staring right at marks, I was already peckish so over we went .we both had a full chicken sandwich and a coffee, both very nice.typical marks,clean well presented, and good value

Visit this cafe most Thursday, when I meet up with friends. It can be hit and miss on how busy the cafe is. Sometimes it is very full other times just ticking over. The staff are very helpful, especially the manager who I think has a Canadian accent. At times you can wait sometime to be served due to the volume of customers purchasing drinks and food. As the drinks and hot food are made to order, this does add to the time. To me this is not a problem as all hot drinks are hot and all hot food is hot. Only one negative point, during busy times staff cannot clear the tables quick enough, but once you ask staff to clear a table it is normally done Asap.

I love everything about M&S, clothes, shoes and especially food which is why I chose to eat there that evening. It was shortly after six and there were no staff visible so I wondered if it was closed. Then I noticed a woman in uniform in conversation with a group of customers.so I went to the counter and waited,......... for ages. Then a young man came who confirmed that hot meals were still available took my order. He then shouted over to a young girl 'order for a pie, I'll come and show you how to do it' and they both disappeared into the back. I waited and watched similar interactions. The member of staff talking to the group continued to chat and I was close enough to hear that it was clear she was either family or close friends with the group. The young man serving me did ask her to come over and help which she did for a few minutes but when he went into the kitchen area she drifted back to her group and their discussion. My order took ages and I resorted to reading a book on my kindle app on my phone. Eventually, after ages, my food arrived. Remember 'Smash' type mashed potatoes? well that's what I had along with a soggy chicken pie which was tasteless containing maybe 3 little pieces of chicken........... ? It was poor quality which with a lemonade cost me £10. To be fair, the young man who I paid was quite incredulous and apologetic. Avoid

Their coffee is very nice, along with their toasted sandwiches and normal sandwiches. I have also occasionally soup of the day which again was nice.

Enjoy M and S cafe good choice of snacks and quality is excellent . Coffee is nice the place although busy is oddly relaxing

This is just so convenient when in Trostre. It's quick, clean and good value especially for working mums

We call here often, my wife and I. Sometimes I only have a coffee and use the free wifi. Other times we have toasted sandwiches, which are delicious. The place does get crowded and I tend to avoid it, especially when fractious children are present.The staff are unfailingly polite and efficient but I do wish the queues moved faster.

Usual M&S quality: good coffee, great toasties and cakes. As other people have mentioned, the tables are a tad too close together but it is only a cafe and it's so convenient for a break whilst shopping or for meeting up with friends. I would give it a four rating but M&S haven't yet sussed out how to get the queues moving and it is frustrating to have to wait so long. Quite a few M&S cafes I've been in only seem to have one member of staff making the teas and coffees while the rest often appear to be standing around doing very little and occasionally disappearing into the kitchen. I believe this slows down the whole queue and is probably due to poor management. When they use more staff to get hands on it always improves. This particular cafe is fairly good if you're in a wheelchair or use a walker as there is a good in store lift and, even when it's busy, you can usually just about find room to move a few chairs around to accommodate a wheelchair or walker. Yes, the staff are usually very pleasant and the quality of the food and drink never waivers. Certainly value for money.

Called at the coffee shop on Monday 17th. Must say the food and coffee was exceptional. A special mention must be made to Kayleigh who I consider to be the best employee there and always goes the extra mile to make my and other customers visit a wonderful experience.

One staff member there Karen, is fabulous, she helps me everytime I go there, nothing is too much trouble, rest of staff are awesome as well, this enables me to get out of the house to have some time with my friends as I am very ill.

Called in to the cafe for a late lunch - 2pm. Firstly I ordered the salmon salad - no they had run out. I then ordered the chicken salad - but they had run out of that too. So I ordered a jacket potato with tuna and sweet corn but unbelievably they had run out of tuna - why on earth they couldn't just run down stairs and get some off the shelf I don't know !!!Finally I ordered two jacket potatoes with mushroom stroggonof on - or not as the case was - my daughter and I were hard pressed to find a mushroom between us!! Just wish they had run out of this too.My grandson chose the tomato and basil soup, which he claimed was nice but pointed out he only had half a bowl full - perhaps M&S should change their menu to half a bowl of soup - I wonder what trading standards would say !!

M&S cafe is a conveinient place only. The food seems heated up, the queue is always ridicolous. The tables are pushed too tightly together and there never seem to be any tables free.

Go here with my family quite often, great place to have a rest in between shopping and do everything from tea and cakes to jacket potatoes

Great coffee, amazing service always!! The staff are extremely well trained and always work with pace at busy times! I love their bacon rolls as a treat!

Excellent café for breakfasts and snacks. Typical M&S quality in all produce on sale together with friendly and attentive staff.

Several friends and I call here frequently. The staff are very amiable and nothing to much of an effort for them.

The food is so nice here and staff are very polite, but the long queues and waiting for food is off putting. Particularly when only one till is open.

I visit this cafe at least twice a week and the staff and service are far superior to Carmarthen, Swansea and Fforestfach. I can't resist their scones which are freshly baked on the premises deeelicious!! I am well aware that making fresh coffee takes a little longer and expect to wait for it but it is well worth it. The only criticism I have that since the revamp all the scones are now uncovered with no protective sneeze guard so far more open to bacteria from coughs etc, which considering M&S's high standards I find strange. As for the staff keep up the good work.

I thought M&S cafe would be a classy place to eat I WAS WRONG! it was horrific, the waitor didnt clear our table and gave us our food on our laps like a dog, the food wasnt that nice and the waitor also gave me a row for drinking a smoothie bottle that i bought downstaires at M&S because i didnt pay the tax on the cafe. I will never go to M&S again Ever!. the Cafe staff seriously need some training on customer service. it was horrendous the worst I have ever recieved and thats saying something I will be complaining to head office.

Like everything there!Dislike -often busy, nowhere to sit! But worth waiting for a table!Staff are lovely!
