The staff were brilliant, they accommodated my mum who has dementia, and went out of their way to help me. We had the afternoon tea, which was very nice and good value, we couldn't eat it all so they wrapped it up for us so we could take it home. Thank you Bexhill staff :-)

Great for a delicious cup of coffee, or somewhere to leave your husband whilst you shop! Good view from the window. Tasty bites for sale.

Saw a member of staff place their fingers inside the cup, that I was going to drink out of. I asked her for 2 clean cups , told her she put her fingers inside of those ones, she argued with me and said she did not. Spoke to the manager, she said she has this conversation so many times, and she tells her staff, who are trained in cleanliness about not putting fingers inside of cups. If members of the public realised what they can pick up from this happening, a lot more would complain. Just because they are behind the counter serving, they touch money and other products, which means their hands are dirty. Thank you to the Manageress for listening.

If I could rate this cafe 0 I would as we didn’t stay and eat. Afternoon Tea advertised from 2pm each day. Got there for my daughters birthday at 2:20pm to be told there weren’t any as no sandwiches even though there were sandwiches on the shelves. When I asked staff about this they said the afternoon tea is subject to availability, even though this is not stated or advertised anywhere. They are obviously just selling the sandwiches and cakes off that they have left that day and using them to make an afternoon tea. If they have any. After that my daughter asked for chicken burger and chips to be told there were no chips. Lady working there with blonde curly hair quite abrupt so decided not to stay and take our custom elsewhere. If you are wanting their afternoon tea just note you aren’t guaranteed to get one even if you get there in good time so don’t travel especially to get one from there as you could be disappointed. We went somewhere where they weren’t serving leftovers. Bad marketing M&S.

The place seems to have been given a face-lift and the offer is good.We only had toasted teacakes,jams,coffee(my salted caramel one was delicious) The view of the sea is lovely,the operatives helpful and professional Well done. Good value,as well.

A good place to go for Coffee or a snack, the view from the cafe has a wonderful panorama of the beach, and the train runs by the beach.

Very expensive £6 for a toasted sandwich, which was more expensive than a jacket potato! Coffee was nice,

I took very clearly one slice of cake out of one of the trays, went to pay for it and the lady who I think has been mentioned before (long, grey very curly hair in a ponytail) blatantly tried to gaslight me by saying I had picked up two pieces of cake and would be paying for two. I asked her where she could see two pieces and she said she could see a 'cut line', incredibly between the top and bottom part of an iced cake!! I couldn't believe it and in hindsight should have stood my ground and asked her to cut it down her imaginary 'cut line', but I had a large queue bearing down on me and she knew that she had put me under pressure. I have 20/20 vision and a relative youngster for Bexhill, so know that I was clearly being lied to and swindled - it was absolutely one slice of cake! M&S - narcissism should never be tolerated in the workplace, especially in customer facing roles.

Only 2 items for a vegan on the menu, 'jacket potatoe or chunky chips!' we went for the chunky chips at £2.50 each.. A very small dish, the sort you might put a cat's biscuits in, it held about 10 chips which were shamefully supermarket oven chips!.. Never again shall I be venture into a m&s cafe...

had a complaint and was “helped” by matt (food hall manager) who was absolutely no help at all. made multiple inappropriate comments about his female colleagues.

Food hall manager named Matt so creepy. He was staring at my girlfriend the entire time we were there. It was disgusting. We couldn’t walk in any section of the food hall without him following us and perving on my girlfriend. It made her feel horrible we will never return as long as he’s there

I wouldn’t recommend the cafe if you’re looking for something nice to eat. That’s twice now the food has arrived lukewarm and wasn’t enjoyable and tasteless The only thing that was decent was the coffee but the food wasn’t up to much.

Views of the beach, plenty of parking and really amazing real scrambled eggs for breakfast. Would meet friends here again for breakfast or lunch.

Regular coffee stop when in the local area . The coffee stays hotter now they serve in mugs, and better value with only 5% VAT. Not brilliant ambience though, and the COVID precautions mean it is sometimes a tad too 'regulated'.

A horrible experience and will never return ! It was our first and last visit here ! The lady behind the counter ( long , very curly grey/blonde hair ) had the worst attitude I have ever encountered in a cafe before ! She should not be working in customer service !!!!

Prior to lockdown, I have spent many hours in the Cafe, with husband and friends. For all the negative comments, I have only had to complain once. All other visits have been a pleasure. Really hope it won't be too long until I visit again.

Went to M & S cafe in Bexhill on a cold Saturday near the end of January for a ‘treat’. Decided on soup to warm me up. All of the cutlery was visibly dirty, greasy and wet. I showed the dirty soup spoons, forks etc to the girl filling the cutlery trays and she said that they were clean and that she was putting the clean cutlery in the trays. I showed her again but she couldn’t seem to see that they were all mucky. She then was walking around with a dirty soup spoon, looking for me to give it to whilst wiping the eating end with her thumb to make it look cleaner. I asked at the counter for a jug of boiling water to clean our own cutlery which we did. We then saw more senior staff picking over the ‘clean’ cutlery to remove the dirtier pieces when all of it needed to go back in the washer which also obviously needed cleaning out, My soup was as thick as cake mix, hot in the middle and luke warm round the edges. There is no way of knowing if the cups and bowls are clean as they come out containing the food and drink. When I mentioned the dirty cutlery to the manageress, she told me the girl was borrowed from the shop floor, so presumably no health and safety training has been given to this person who should not have been working in the cafe. This does not excuse the generally filthy unhygienic state of the cutlery and bad management. Managed to get a window seat with sea view today. Very nice baked potato with chilli con carne. Would have liked a bigger spoonful of chilli though. Very nice salad with the potato. Cutlery a bit worn out. Over all an enjoyable lunch and reasonably priced.

I recently had a pot of tea and a sandwich selection the sandwiches were too cold and soggy decided not to have the sandwich selection again so went for a child's small cheese sandwich snack that although still in date was stale and dry now if I use the cafe I only have tea which is okay hot and refeshing difficult to muck that up tho. The girl who served me seemed unable to make eye contact and was looking in lthe other direction the whole time I spoke to her. The Marks and Spencer experience not what it once was.

We have lunch here quite often when shopping. Most recent experience was not the best. Needs more staff and possibly better trained staff. What is going on in the kitchen? I'm not actually blaming the staff, they need management support.They've changed the menu which seemed to have caused confusion. There was a long queue before we could ordered three platters, a baked potato and coffees. Not a complicated order, you would have thought!But not enough staff. Cashiers often rush off with another task. Coffee makers slow and distracted by having to perform multiple tasks and now you have to ask the already busy staff if you want a glass of water. Before, there used to be jugs and glasses on the side so you could help yourself. There seemed to be only one person to both clear 30+ tables and carry out ordered food from the kitchen serving hatch. She did her best but lunchtimes are always busy here.After 30 mins our food hadn't arrived, so we asked where it was - it would be a few minutes. 40 mins and it still hadn't arrived, once again were told it would be a few minutes. Meanwhile the family at the next table had waited over an hour for their food. Ours eventually arrived, neighbouring table were told their order hadn't arrived at the kitchen! They got a refund and left, I don't blame them.M & S get your act together and support your people!!! You need to employ more staff in this café! You can't expect them to manage brilliantly if they don't have your support.

Visited today and had tea, cake and chocolate milkshake. The tea and cake were good but the milkshake was lacking in real chocolate flavour. We had to queue a long time to place our order and there seemed to be some crisis around the hot drink machines. "Who wants a hot drink ?" was the shout for service. The milkshake took a long time to be served and it was not very good. Most of it was not consumed. Service is not really friendly. I do not understand why service is so indifferent and inefficient when so many people are working there.

It seems that this M&S cafe may have problems with their toaster, or they do not allow sufficient time for white bread to brown! - Why should this happen? My wife and I like this cafe, but they should be able to toast a piece of bread properly. I hope they will sort it out soon , as on our last four visits, the white bread looked like , well white bread, when it's served up as toast. And, why oh why do you have to have ask for the free biscuits with your tea/hot drink? It would be nicer/less embarrassing if the staff asked if you want the complimentary biscuits when they take an order, instead of customers having to ask...……. it's taking the biscuits M&S!!

Thought we give this place a go for breakfast and wished we hadn’t. Go to the counter and asked if the do a vegetarian option and was met with a NO! Followed by how vegetarian are you! After saying fully he said we have eggs on toast! For a massive chain they really do offer a really poor option for people with food requirements I see it as a very narrow minded thing to do in this day and age. We won’t be going back to any marks and Spencer establishment.

Don't expect courtesy or good manners here! An absence of please and thank you from the surly staff member dealing with me and thus I had no option but to reciprocate. Shan't return.

Traditional department store cafe but with stunning sea views. The food was good and the service efficient and friendly

As a regular since it opened The service is getting worse. 15 minutes wait for a bacon roll. In the meantime coffee going cold. Staff at till should have informed customers of delay. Staff numbers need boosting from 9am.

Very busy. Not enough tables for 2 lots of tables for 4 with only 1 or 2 eating. Tables with used crockery left uncleared. Cleaned our sticky table myself. All day breakfast ok but no choice just scrambled eggs available today. Not proper scrambled eggs more like mashed up boiled eggs although they tasted ok. A bit disappointing but will try again as others seemed to be enjoying their food.

Probably as the best atmosphere for a spot of coffee and cake or some lunch!! Always friendly staff and tables always being cleared and cleaned!! Selection of food is always good. My only complaint is the price you are expected to pay for a tiny slice of cake!! Quite crazy

I love this store and the cafe is no exception, the service is great, food is scrumptious and staff so helpful. It's my bit of heaven and you can look out to the sea whilst drinking that magical cup of coffee with a cheese scone - perfect!

Lovely hot chocolate with the girl here. Staff were very friendly, tables were clean and service was quick.

I came here with my friend as we wanted to eat somewhere in the retail park. I had a chicken, bacon and cheese toastie which was lovely and my friend had the same which she also enjoyed as well. I also really like the servers as they were really friendly and nice people.

Went for a coffee in there while the kids went swimming. Served quickly with a smile - price reasonable too.

I visit this cafe regularly. It has a lovely sea view and we always seem to manage to get a table by the window. Coffee cakes etc always good quality. Bonus and a nice touch, is free water available.

It has a nice view. Good service. Simple menu and great coffee. They have a reward card system too. Gets busy at times. Not much else around the area.
