Marine City Takeaway in South Tyneside

RUDE STAFF. Phoned up as my regularly nice meal was dry and not best cooked. I then heard the kitchen shout at the poor lady ‘tell them that’s how it comes if they don’t like it give them a refund, we’re too busy’ after I said I don’t really want my money back just to come and get a replacement. I was actually gobsmacked and just said no problem thanks for your help (not the desk lady’s fault) Needless to say I won’t be using there again.

We often order from here, and everytime I cannot fault it. Tonight was no exception. From our telephone order with a polite lady to being delivered within half a hour by a very polite delivery driver. Food as ever was fabulous.

Don't know what's happened here as it used to be great. Just waited 90 minutes for the delivery of the worst Chinese meal I've ever had. Could have used the beef as a door stop if it even was beef. Never gong back

really horrible ordered a beef curry and king prawn curry asked for just a little few onions in the k prawn and there must of been a full large onion prawns were nice but the beef well it all went in the bin never ever had beef like it was like try to eat slim I could of been sick give it a wide berth I cant even give it a one star sorry I have to give it a start to rate it but its minus all stars

Called in last night ( Friday 20th ) after finishing back shift at work got there at 23.15pm with son got served straight away didn't have to wait long for meal which as always was brill great staff great food never go anywhere else for a Chinese one of the best in shields and there marine city box is so good

This place is officially the pits for service these days! The original owners were sound! Simon and Lisa, they knew exactly what the people of Shields want, great food and nice customer service! I've been a customer since this place was opened. I have steadily watched the standards drop this isn't the first time Susan has been rude to me but it will be the last! The food is still okay, but it used to be excellent! (when Simon was the chef/owner) I asked to swap out a dish from a set menu was told they didn't do that dish unless it was fried rice not in those words it was sharper in tone and louder in pitch, I asked if I could change the fried rice dish for a different chow mein dish of the same value to a shrill toned and resounding NO! I asked if I could pay extra to swap out the fried rice for ANY chow mein dish.... You guessed it.... No. No, No, No.....No public service, No more orders from me. Not that I'm a regular customer but I am a long standing one. I've been a chef and also worked on the front line of customer service as well, I know the pressure of a kitchen and also serving people but there has to be a professional standard to absorb that stress and give the customer the best experience possible. Also can't imagine it would be stressful this evening as there was no one else in!!.... but I can imagine why that is.... SUSAN!! The girl on the counter is nice and will know exactly what I mean as she shrugged her shoulders and shook her head with a slightly embarrassed look on her face feeling the same as me I'm sure, a sort of look of you know what susans like..... Oh yes I do Susan! I know exactly what your like!! Your the type of person that needs love the most as you live your life without it! So Susan sleep easy tonight knowing that I still love you but I hate your service! what's the problem with changing a dish and paying extra! Will never return. Not for all the noodles in China. F#(k you Susan Boyle!

Without a doubt South Shields best Chinese takeaway Never had a meal I haven't enjoyed If fact I'm going to get one tonight... again 😂😂

The chicken curry is very good, meal is always hot & very fresh, the staff are polite and friendly would not go anywhere else I highly recommend to anyone never had a bad meal

Food was piping hot when delivered and delicious we will definitely order again Couldn't fault the food or the service.

Sorry not one to have a moan unless it's justified but this was not what a expected. First of all I ordered salt and peeper chicken with no spice with noodles and chips and a tub of good old gravy. Gets home slightly excited at having a treat (slimming world client) only to be left sick. Yes I will give you your due noodles and chips were fine but that comes as standard but when the chef comes out questioning your salt and pepper chicken order with out spices only for me to explain to her and get a responce "I try it" am worried! She must of thought yeeeee experiment time with this order as I received little chicken balls with red sticky sauce and soggy peppers and onions! Sorry but I've tried a few Chinese and I get the same order everytime and the s-p chicken always test my remaining teeth with a good crunch. Sorry I had to write this but for the next 7 days I have to live on sin free food to get another carry out. If your wondering why you got 2 stars it's cause a enjoyed drinking the gravy!
