Saturday morning market visit. Decided we wanted breakfast. Had visited Margarets Tea Rooms before and had a fabulous lunch. We were not let down for breakfast either. Very welcoming, great service and what a fantastic break. Very reasonably priced, well presented. We were not from the area, but will definitely go out of our way to have a meal there again.

Came for breakfast with a friend. I have a 9 month old so we sat in the soft play children's room at the back. This is hidden away and a really nice feature separate from the main cafe. Everything is very grubby though, the toys and equipment all look so old. I doubt they are ever cleaned. Breakfast was ok, it wasn't that hot. Coffee was really nice.

Brilliant place. Such a warm welcome and dogs welcome with well behaved owners! We only wanted a cuppa but the food we saw coming out to other tables looked great. It’s a big space and was clean and nicely decorated. Separate area for people with families and toilet facilities on site. Lovely friendly staff.

Nice staff I just had a pot of tea and a cheese scone, my wife had the carrot cake and coffee. Cake was declared to be delicious, however my scone was a bit heavy (claggy in the middle which rather spoiled it for me. Tea pot held enough for 3 cups.

We had afternoon tea at Margarets Tea Rooms today. It was my niece's 14th birthday and they decorated the table with balloons and had a birthday banner on the wall. The sandwiches were tasty and the scones were the best we have ever had. We also had cakes but we were so full we could not eat them so they gave us a box to take them home. The staff were all so lovely and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. This is the best place in Swaffham to eat and it is excellent value for money

We will not be returning! We have visited Margaret’s several times since it has opened, but today will be our last visit. I ordered two lattes and a glass of tap water for my elderly Mum ,who was feeling poorly. The cafe was quite busy so I appreciated there maybe a slight delay. After 20minutes I asked at the counter for the water and enquired how they prepare the orders. I had a similar experience on our last visit and conclude that they complete the orders in a strict sequence ie I didn’t get my coffees until the four customers before me had received their full meals, then the server would then read my receipt and prepare my order….this is not efficient and not good for customer service. Our coffees and glass of water could have been prepared whilst the server was waiting for the meals to come out from the kitchen. The lady from the kitchen intervened and made our drinks and apologised for the wait. It’s such a shame as we have always enjoyed the cakes and light snacks, but will be going elsewhere.

You can only speak as you find. We had the ploughmans lunch, and o.k. the pork pie had to be substituted with sausage roll, but it was a good ,tasty, value for money lunch. I also very much enjoyed an Irish coffee. Staff very friendly and helpful, tables well spaced out, and most importantly nice clean toilets. It would be nice to see the rusty toilet brush holders replaced, but we will definitely return, there are some lovely looking cakes to be tested!

Sorry Margaret This was not very good. The coffee was tasteless The cherry pie pastry was soggy and the cheese scone was not cooked when i told the lady at the till she just shrugged her shoulders. She had probably heard it all before. We will not be returning and you owe me £3.50 for the scone!

The tea and coffee were good, but the scone was dry and tasteless. The clotted cream and jam were both in sealed containers, so were not fresh or homemade. The brownie was dry and too fudgey. Nice large tea room in the heart of Swaffham. The staff were chatting behind the counter and left us standing waiting for quite awhile.

Not very good, ordered a Ploughman’s half the stuff I’ve been replaced for example on the menu, it said porkpie had run out so substituted it with half a sausage roll. It also said two slices of ham was more like half a slice no one come up to tell us exchange or to explain to us what happened just got our money back not very happy poor service

£2 for the play area with the broken slide that has been broken for months. £7.50 for a panini that comes with a salad which includes up to 1 cherry tomato. The children's tv doesn't connect and i have to keep getting up to close the door so the children can't run out into the road (psst door closers exist). There are signs, notices and blackboards everywhere but only a select few have prices on them. The kitchen door is open to the children's area and the servers walk across it with your food to get to the main counter.

Horrible dirty plastic flowers surround the tea room front entrance, which is totally out of character for the charming old market town. Breakfast was generous, but very poor quality and took a long time to arrive. Might be suitable for children, but there are so many more attractive venues for discerning adults!

A famous advertising line once said ‘We never forget you have a choice’. Unfortunately this tea room has forgotten. The service was slow and unfriendly and a pizza they served up was unappetising. Frankly, if it’s lunch you are looking for you should try and find something better.

This is so refreshing having interesting, vegetarian options on a menu. It really is worth the wait for the food. The time of service has improved here and we received our order of pizza, wedges and tea within 15 mins. There is plenty of room around the tables, they're not crammed in. The child's area looks fun. There is a relaxed atmosphere, and unlike other venues, the table isn't being cleared as a hint to leave. Also try the vegetarian pie, which doesn't appear on the menu.

My mother and I arrived for lunch on Saturday. Firstly we were shown to a dirty table, rings from cups and salt or possibly sugar. As my mother has a walker and had taken her coat off and sat down I didn’t ask to be moved but cleaned the table myself with antibacterial wipes I always carry. We ordered drinks and food which you have to pay for upfront so no opportunity to refuse to pay. The drinks arrived, one of which was a bottle of water but no glass. I asked for a glass which the waiter came back with. The glass was dirty. I waited until the food arrived and asked for a clean glass. No apology was given for bringing me a dirty one. My mother had loaded fries at £11. Well I could see the crispy onions, crispy because they were those dried ones you buy in tubs in the supermarket, but no sign of any cheese. I started to eat my bacon, Brie and red onion chutney panini. Well I had bacon. I looked inside for the Brie. There was a sort of stain which was obviously the Brie. I’ve never managed to cut a slice of Brie that thin myself, I suspect they could see through it when they lifted it up. As for the chutney, I found a few soggy bits of tasteless brown stuff. I noticed my mother poking her chips about and asked her what she was doing, she said ‘looking for the cheese’. I asked if she’d found any and she said ‘not really’. She pushed the bowl away and said her legs were cold. We had been sat in front of the entrance and the draft was awful. I asked her if she wanted to go and she was out of her chair faster than I’ve seen someone of 88 move in a long time. All in all a most unpleasant lunch. £11 for a bowl of chips and dried onion, and £10.50 for a bacon roll. Very poor indeed.
