Ambience was great and food was reasonably priced and delicious. Music from the bar is a tad too loud. Elina our server was amazing. She went out of the way to make sure we have a great experience and we really appreciate that!

Avil was serving us and he was fantastic, very attentive and friendly. Booked for Sunday lunch which website allowed us to do and then when we arrived was told it had finished. This is why I have given 4 stars as shouldn’t have been allowed to book this option. Food was beautiful thou and enjoyed the cocktails for cocktail weekend.

Lovely restaurant with great views of Birmingham, food and atmosphere. Great choice for my birthday. Elina provided impeccable service initially but I think she either went on break or finished her shift and service went downhill from there. The restaurant was not busy but it took half an hour for puddings to be served after clearing our plates, we had to prompt it as it felt like we had been forgotten about. Would of been 5 stars had it not been for that.

Came to MPW with moderate expectations, what we got didn’t even come close. Firstly have to say it was 2/5 and not less, not because of the food and not because of the staff, it’s purely because of the views and the terrace. The whole experience was in a word Loud. We came and were seated in the restaurant but it genuinely felt like eating dinner in the middle of a club dancefloor. Who has a live DJ in a restaurant at 5:30pm in an open plan room, MPW that’s who. If we would have had warning we probably wouldn’t have booked, in the hope other days were quieter. We didn’t get a drinks menu and had to ask twice. The person serving either couldn’t hear or wasn’t listening. Food was ok not terrible not special. The bill was wrong but easily rectified though despite it being a terrible experience the service charge was still on it. I know we could have asked for it to be removed but quite frankly we wanted to leave ASAP and given we were gifted a voucher it wasn’t much to pay. The guy serving was quite abrupt but Tbf suited us because it made the experience quicker. Would we come back? Only for someone’s birthday or if they gave away free earplugs to wear during the meal; If for a birthday meal would probably bring my own.

Having visited this restaurant many times and found the experience great, the latest visit (15/10/24) was appalling. Lack of staff and left waiting for 15 minutes to be seated in a restaurateur that virtually empty. The food was terrible and had to be sent back and there was no apologies for management when they recognised the bad experience had by myself and overseas colleagues. The experience was terrible and not keeping of this restaurant. Very poor!

Such a wonderful place to go for a special treat. The afternoon tea was wonderful and as we used a buyagift it was very reasonable too. Too many cakes so we had a takeout which was wrapped expertly. Views are amazing and worth the little extra to sit in the window.

We travelled a long way to experience the food at Marco Pierre Whites. At a glance under low lighting you might think it is glamorous, it’s nice but quite dated, needs a revamp, tired from the heavy footfall etc. new carpets would cheer things up somewhat, amongst other changes. The starter choice was mussels, butternut squash or a plate of beetroot with crumbles of goats cheese and walnuts on. Swapping out half the plate of beetroot for salad would of helped a little, but a simple veg soup or something like a pate would of at least meant I could of found something I could eat, who wants a full plate of cold sliced beetroot ?? The draft beer also ran out before I got to order a pint meaning I was paying £11 a pint for two bottles instead, not ideal !! Mains were very nice once we upgraded to the sirloin, very nicely cooked. Overall not what I expected and would struggle to return. Staff were all in there game, well done to them, they didn’t even disturb us while clearing the table, which I found excellent. We felt with a revamp and a better choice of starters it could be as good as it probably once was, don’t be put off, the steak was very nice 👍

Excellent food, fantastic,attentive service. All spoiled by the volume of the music.....far too loud and being a deaf person who wears hearing aids, I was excluded from the conversation at my table. Take a leaf out of Wetherspoons book and do away with the moos music, you don't need it.

The burgers were very terrible, rubber. Literal rubber, very dry.

Went for a birthday meal. We waited 45mins for the food. I asked for medium rare steak and the steak was rare and very fatty. Onion rings not cooked enough and very doughy tasting. The atmosphere was very loud couldn't have a conversation with my husband. The toilets were not very clean.

I went to dinner for my boyfriend birthday. The place is elegant and cozy, with a beautiful view. The food was good, but unfortunately they forgot to bring the surprise dessert to sing happy birthday to my boyfriend that I had requested by email. I liked it, but it was marked by a detail that would have made all the difference.

Had organised dinner by our company. The food was amazing and quite good amount. The view from the 25th floor is definitely adding up to the experience. Staff was friendly and food was coming quick. Everything was smooth. Not sure about the prices as it was prearranged.

Music was a bit loud... can't fault anything else... food was amazing.

Had the worse meal I've had out in a long time at MPW Birmingham - with Virgin Experience Voucher basic meal was a scraggy piece of chicken and boiled spinach (for some inexplicable reason) - salad was a small bowl of chopped rocket - horrible. with the extra side orders Bill came to £49 for two people. I've had far better pub meals. Surely with your name you could do better? Yours faithfully Alistair Davies

Great value amazing load to do for families

Little or no Gluten Free options, Staff pleasant but limited knowledge of menu, particularly GF. Food was okay, venue looking tired in places.

Eight of us have just enjoyed the most delightful, exceptionally tasty meal from the '1961' Summer menu. All seven of my birthday guests thoroughly their MPW experience. It was definately a good choice of venue for my celebration. After drinks outside on the balcony we enjoyed the culinary delights that followed. We all recommend what we chose between us:- A glass of prosecco, the warm sour dough bread (the salty butter just melted into it) and the Beetroot & hens egg starter. Also thoroughly recommend the Chargrilled Chicken Supreme with a side of chips (I can not begin to describe how delightful the spinach was!) and the Butchers steak with an extra side of buttered green beans & toasted almonds (again just amazing flavours). Followed by chocolate & vanilla ice creams or Poached seasonal fruits (I have never had a dish of fruit as tasty as this, I had to spoon every last drop of the light syrup). Everything about the meal and service was superb and of course in beautiful surroundings.

Gorgeous place, stunning views, fantastic steak, yummy Malbec and served by a lovely young man called Avil. Highly recommend this dining experience. 🙂

WOW what a fantastic location! Amazing view from the dining area. The food was very well presented and delicious. Service was excellent and very courteous and we totally enjoyed the whole experience.

Restaurant tour this was the final stop and having a full meal helped. The steak was medium rare but was well undercooked, tough, not seasoned and couldn't digest the meat. The chips were nice.

The food was good, however not many halal options. Our waitress Elina was excellent as she wasn’t constantly coming over interrupting but she always came at the right time. She even did a little happy birthday plate for my fiancé despite me not even asking before hand. The atmosphere is amazing. 8/10 overall from us.

We had a full English breakfast each, cooked and presented beautifully ( I deducted a point, as my poached eggs were hard) breakfast buffet bar was well stocked, choices of fruit juices, teas and coffees. Staff attentive and polite. Very impressed, this breakfast was above average.

My step daughter brought myself and her dad a virgin experience 2 course meal with prosecco and the food was amazing I had the steak I asked for it to be cook rare and it was cooked to perfection and for pudding I had the chocolate ice cream and that was delicious the prosecco was very nice aswell the staff where brilliant didn't really have to wait long for my food would I go back again most definitely thinking about treating my bestie to the afternoon tea thank you to the staff for your services today 10 out of 10

Mediocre food and below average customer service. Me and my partner both ordered steaks, cooked as medium rare. They came out being medium well. After sending them back, the supervisor came over with the steaks and said it was the light difference that made them look like they had been cooked more, and suggested we shpuld have them back. He didn't introduce himself by name or seem apologetic. We had trued our steaks before sending them back so this was not based solely on colouring as he assumed and rather laboured the point on, but rather the texture and flavour. The blue cheese sauce had also curdled and split. Eventually, we received replacement steaks but they were nothing special in regard to taste and one was rare, as opposed to medium rare. It's a shame because this was our first visit, and after having an amazing visit to their branch in Swansea 2 years ago, we had high hopes. We were using a voucher for the lunch menu, which is very limited.

Walked in for a quick dinner on a Friday night. The view was stunning, the seats comfortable and the mood was nice although the music playlist that was blasting loudly was horrible, full of non copyrighted covers of pop songs on max volume. Our waiter was pleasant, however did not seem to know much about what is on the menu, or cocktail list. I asked about the specials, of which he had no clue what they were. I also asked about set meals to which he replied 'he doesn't know if they are served today'. Perhaps some more training is needed there.... We ordered two courses for £16 which was a very fair deal. However, the Mediterranean veg salad that came in was stone cold, bland and soggy. The main of steak, chips and gravy was actually not bad. The star on the plate was the peppercorn sauce - it was delicious! I did notice though that all the plates coming out of the kitchen were ALL garnished with the same micro herbs and cherry tomatoes. And I mean ALL. Felt very lax. I ordered a seasonal cocktail that was really medicinal and unpleasant. I then kindly asked for a replacement, to which they did. That was kind of them. I got a drink similar to a mojito. Average at best. All in all, good views, horrible music, uninspiring cocktails, good chips and excellent peppercorn sauce. The guest experience could be better in my opinion...

I do not recommend. I got a table literally in a flower, to sit by the window I had to pay extra £5 per person. when I did this, I was given a table near the kitchen where I could hear cuttlery banging against each other every now and then, even though only 3 tables were occupied throughout my stay. tasteless appetizer. to get a good Steak I had to pay another 15 pounds and it was ok. Additionally, the restaurant included water for 3.50 and service for 10?! A much better restaurant, I recommend it is TATU where the pleasure of the dinner itself are much better.

We came along to MPW with a voucher for our anniversary, while not strictly relevant to the review booking with a voucher was very tedious and long winded The restaurant itself is very nice with amazing views all round (you have to pay extra for a window table) and the quality of the service is second to none However you are reminded that you are a voucher booking and you only get the voucher menu which only has three starters (cold soup, roast vegetables and beetroot) three mains (ravioli, steak or chicken) and three desserts which I can't recall I will say you have a glass of prosecco included but this can be swapped for an alternative but the coffee is awful The meals are fine, nothing wrong with them but nothing stand out. The steak was cooked just right and the ravioli was good but the sauce was rather bland As mentioned the service was excellent and the atmosphere was also really good so while not a glowing review we are unaware of what the normal menu or food is like and we were reminded that we were in voucher table Can't really recommend, nothing really wrong with the food but nothing brilliant either so 50/50

We came here on the 31/7/24 for my wife's birthday using a red letter day voucher, 2 course meal for 2 with prosecco, we were greeted politely by a waitress who escorted us to our table and given our choice of drinks which was red, white or rose, no prosecco. We ordered our main course which was butchers steak, tomatoes and chips, it was cooked lovely and was enjoyable, then we had desserts, I had the cheese board which half way through eating it I discovered a grey hair sticking out of the chuckney, I called the waitress over to show her which she was very apologetic for and offered to get me a new cheese board which I declined, put a right dampener on the whole experience. During our meal not once did anyone come over and ask us if everything was OK with our food(except when I called the waitress over to complain about the hair). No apology off the manager or anything. We felt like 2nd class citizens because we were using a voucher instead of cash, obviously because they knew we weren't going to spend anymore money in there other than the voucher value but that wasn't necessarily true because if we'd have been treated better we would've stayed and enjoyed a bottle of wine there. They need to realise that a voucher is cash and everyone should be treated the same, we saw the waitresses going over to other tables and pouring their drinks for them but we had none of this service. We definitely won't be recommending this place to our family and friends and we won't be visiting here again ourselves.

My husband and I went for our anniversary meal. The whole experience is very nice, relaxed atmosphere and far reaching views. However, my fillet steak was undercooked. I asked for it medium and it was definitely rare. They replaced it with another which was fractionally better, but still medium rare and also quite fatty. I expressed my disappointment to our very friendly waitress and she said she would pass it on to the manager. Quite frankly I don’t think he was bothered, he looked over at the table but didn’t make any effort to speak to us. I had hoped he would at least try to make amends by a reduction in the bill or a complimentary glass of wine, but unfortunately not. You would think that a restaurant which calls itself a steakhouse would be able to cook a steak correctly. I would recommend not choosing steak to eat at the steakhouse!

Very poor food, particularly comparing to Hawksmoor which is similarly priced, and where I have eaten in the last month. The steak I had was old and gamey; a horrible flavour. I also didn't get what I ordered....which was the fillet steak special, just a plain steak and chips. It was overcooked versus what I asked for. I then had the summer pudding special; nothing like what it should be; more like a Tesco Value pudding. There was virtually no fruit, gelatinous bread, and a sickly over sweet sauce with what little fruit there was. I'm staggered Marco PW has his name against this quality of catering having remembered / dined at the incarnations from Harveys etc. If I was not with a group of friends, I would have made more fuss at the time on Sunday evening.

Service was slow, hair on sandwich, sandwiches full of thick butter, had to order drink 3 times as the 1st person in training, 2 person wrote it down but still took a third person to come and confirm the drinks!! meant to have a celebration plate and never arrived. Overall, shocking and won't be returning, very disappointing

Went with friend for lunch today. The meal deal was very limited. Went for the butcher’s steak for main. Wrong choice , tough and grisly. Did complain but no response. Enjoyed the atmosphere but won’t be rushing back when a supposedly top notch restaurant cannot produce the goods. Such a shame!

Had to ask for water twice, drinks came as we nearly finished starters, side dish came 2/3 through main course, toilets weren't great, had to tell servers to leave wine glasses twice as we'd ordered a bottle of wine.

We went here with a buy a gift voucher. On the whole disappointing. The set menu includes barely anything, everything is a top up fee. Food we received was good but very small portions. Staff friendly and the view is good but disagree with being charged extra to sit by a window and compulsory service charge. Won't return here again.

Piano playing in the background, lovely comfortable seating on the balcony overlooking the canal. Great for cocktails on a sunny day. A more relaxing atmosphere. I have had food here several times. I have found it to be delicious and very reasonably priced. At night you have a great view of the city with all the lights. Likewise during the day you can see for miles. People with vertigo or height issues order a table in the centre of the room.

Enjoyed an afternoon tea here today. Great view across Birmingham, despite the weather, excellent service and afternoon tea. A lovely lounge for a drink afterwards as well. Really nice, friendly atmosphere as well, all round great experience.

Excellent food once we had realised the waiter had served us the opposite steaks!(medium and very well done!) no atmosphere staff were pleasant but not really welcoming or friendly. Better service in Wetherspoons (and cheaper🤣)

We used a virgin experience voucher, and will not come back. They struggled with my wife's allergy (pepper) despite being notified beforehand, taking 3 trips to find an order she could eat. The service staff spent most of their time talking, and had poor etiquette with us. Their poached fruit was a fruit salad, not poached fruit. The music was very loud and didn't feel appropriate, top hits of the time loud enough that we had to raise our voices to talk to each other. They also charge a service fee for all food & drink, including the voucher (as this is just removed from the total at the end of the meal), almost doubling the bill for our drinks & side. I have had better experiences at chain stake restaurants.

After the renovation, the restaurant had improved massively. No complaints, and the view is the best can’t beat it

Genuinely one of the poorest dining experiences of my life. Terrible service, every waiter seemed like they didn’t want to give us the time of day. Food was practically thrown on the table without so much as a ‘here you go’. We had 2 mains and 3 sides, from the moment the first main was bought to us it took close to 15 minutes for our entire order to be bought out. Ordered my steak medium rare and somehow one end was well done and the other end was practically still mooing. We both left more than half of our food and not one waiter asked if everything was alright when they cleared the table. I was asked if we wanted a dessert menu. I said not a chance if the quality is anything like the mains. Again, not a single question of what was the matter he just said ‘okay I’ll get your bill’ Absolutely appalling experience from start to finish.

Avil was the best staff member there, so warm and welcoming and made my birthday so much better.

Live music as we ate, food was great bar the fact there seemed to be lots of garlic in all our food. Service was great, can’t wait to come back.

Great night, amazing food and excellent service in the restaurant. Massively let down by a really rude member of bar staff. A good suggestion would be placing a sign on the bar stating where you will get served or where you'll get completely ignored for 10 minutes. We eventually got the hint after a very kind lady offered to let us be served before her to which the reply to her was "We don't serve that side of the bar, i have told them 4 times" (this was the first we'd heard of this) Really annoyed we moved to the other side of the bar away from him and got served by another member of staff who was very pleasant and professional.

Afternoon tea was nice but it wasn’t as good as when I have been previously (items removed from menu). Apparently I was going to be charged an extra £5 per person for a window seat, I wasn’t informed about this at booking so on arrival I decided to sit elsewhere. The service was not good! Prosecco was served immediately, sandwiches & cakes came shortly after but I had to remind them twice to bring our hot drinks which finally came after we had finished the sandwiches. No one checked on us at all and we were not asked if we needed more drinks or even offered any hot water. I always tip for good service but I didn’t this time. Disappointing!

Booked a table for lunch and everything we ordered was not available including drinks. Food that came out was not acceptable for the price that was paid and one meal had to be sent back. I will not be coming back as this was meant to be a special occasion and the whole meal and event was spoilt and not worth the extortionate price that I paid including the service charge

First and most likely the last time i will come here, me and 3 friends went on the bank holiday monday, meau was sad and was told tomahawk steak and espresso martini was out of stock which is fine but i saw as we was leaving a couple had espresso martinis so not sure what that was about.. service was wasn’t great when it wasn’t busy can’t imagine what it’s like on a saturday night, mac & cheese came when we was finished eating and i was told at the bar drinks were £15 for two cocktails in weekday but was charged £14 for each on the bill. it’s also £20 for window seat on again would understand if it was busy but there was maybe 5 people in the restaurant. steak was nice but for that price i expected better overall

We had the 2 course set menu. Our steaks were both first class and enjoyable. We both chose the cheese plate for dessert, to be told they weren't available. My 2nd choice was cheesecake, which was OK, not exceptional. My wife was told her 2nd choice of Eton mess wasn't available, so had to make a 3rd choice, which was disappointing for a Friday lunchtime service!

I visited MPW last weekend and was seriously disappointed. We ordered from the set menu, as the dinner was booked using a Virgin Experience voucher. The starter was tomato soup and the main was Butcher's steak and chips. As an extra, we ordered a sharing plate of sourdough, which never arrived. We ordered our steaks to be rare and medium-rare, which arrived medium-well and well done. The atmosphere reminded me of a restaurant you'd find in an all inclusive resort - very loud, lots of staff all walking round, cheap tableware and pretty basic food (I can cook a better steak myself at home...). The only thing this restaurant has going for it, is the great view, but even then you have to pay an extra £5pp to sit next to a window and it's just not worth it. Sadly, I wished we'd eaten elsewhere and paid, just to have had a decent meal.

Visited for a dinner having received a virgin voucher consisting of only a set menu with a limited choices of starters main no dessert. It was really poor menu food wasn't great at all, even the normal menu didn't add much. Price tag to be seated by the windows.... Discretionary service charge which was applied anyway not sure for what. The service from the waitresses top notch really good. Toilets in worse state for such a restaurant would expect more. I will not visit again nor recommend..

This place would be better if they understood that when you tell them you have an intolerance that it is not the same as an allergy. Also if they catered more for lactose free and not tried to charge you for something you didn't have.

Avoid at all cost - physically bullied into paying for a meal we didn’t have. We ordered two fillet steaks, one blue, one medium rare. Both steaks came medium and with the wrong sauces one the plates. Once this was pointed out to the waiter, they checked and the chef (absolutely deluded out of his mind) and came back with his phone to the table pointing out why the chef refused to cook another steak. Please help me understand how a medium rare steak and a blue steak would look exactly alike?! So now we were left one person with food and the other with no food, and they had ruined our meal completely. Given the circumstances, I refused to pay the bill. As any person understandably would in this situation. Following which a disgustingly rude brute and physically violent security guard was sent to the table, MID-MEAL, demanding payment by asking “I understand there is a problem with the bill, mate?” - Vile excuse for a human. Outraged by this buffoons behaviour, making my partner uncomfortable, we stood up to leave the premises. Upon which we were physically abused, thus I had to and proceeded to call the police, who by the way are now actively investing the matter and reviewing CCTV footage. Being made so uncomfortable and to avoid further embarrassment, harassment, and physical violence my partner with tears in her eyes went back and paid the bill through fear and bullying. This is the single most atrocious experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Disgusting, vile and utterly shameful.

Can’t even make the booking ! Trying to booking online and the card system won’t work to decimate the table. Try to call them and the phone consistently rings out with no answer. Finally send an email and manage to reserve subject to securing via payment - guess what that system won’t work again … now trying to call them again and you can’t get through - again !

Restaurant almost empty at peak lunchtime session didn’t add to any atmosphere. Although young lady who served us was very pleasant, as there was no afternoon tea menu was on table, when asked didn’t know fillings on sandwiches served or what cakes were but did go and get us a tea menu so we could read up. Also when required additional service, staff were grouped together chatting and not keeping eye on tables.

Absolute waste of time. Booking was a bit of a pain as you either have to call or email. If you choose to call, doesn’t matter what time of the day, no one will pick up. We’ve booked time off work and train tickets to come here after our reservation only to find out the restaurant is closed due to a gas leak. Now don’t get me wrong, these things happen but not to contact your reservations and let them know until they turn up? They’ve had signs printed off on every corner of The Cube saying it’s closed so clearly they’ve had enough time to simply give the reservations a call! Appalling and definitely below par for a “high end” restaurant. After emailing I’ve been met with “we’ll pass your comments to our team”. Don’t bother.

Came here today all the tables looked disgusting they had enough staff to get them cleaned was here for over 2 hours and no one came to clean disgusting to say the least the staff need to FIX UP

We visited as a family group of 4 for a special occasion. Dined with a BuyaGift voucher , a reduced menu with 3 options for starter, mains and desserts. The starter of beetroot with walnuts, was very bland and a little disappointing , the vegan Pomodoro linguine was also lacking flavour , one member of the party had the butchers steak with chips which was quite small but ok. Drinks were good and well priced. Staff were friendly, but atmosphere was slightly marred by the ongoing filming , don’t think I’d go back again even with the full menu as choices are still limited. It’s a nice atmosphere if you just want to grab cocktails.

Absolutely impossible to get through on the phone to make a booking. I have now booked elsewhere, they do not deserve my business.

Starter of beetroot salad. Far too much beetroot far too little egg and candied walnuts. Steak upgrade, steak uneven thickness so uneven cooking. Ranged from tough to tasteless. Not rested for long enough, if at all. But peppercorn sauce excellent. Service very good. Views amazing. Will just go to bar and lounge next time. Food very very disappointing.

Joke of a place. Honestly, I have had better food on an economy aeroplane. It's all a masquerade. They should just be honest about what the place is, which is a diner/bar of the top floor of a hotel called the loft. Overpriced and convenient for guests who just want to get something to eat, rather than trying to pass as fine dining. I didn't pay a penny as my bill was paid for by a company, but I still feel like it was an hour or so of my life I won't get back. I honestly felt more hungry after leaving. People, just don't! And if someone offers to take you there, make an excuse and tell them you're busy.

Sorry to say our experience at this restaurant was not good at all, We ordered some starters which were ok, but just ok, when the mains came out, my wife and I ordered a chicken and prawn salad, the chicken was dry and over cooked the pawns had a very strange smell and taste and the salad was just not fresh at all. We never got a courtesy check to see if the food was ok, when the server came over he asked us if we had finished, picked the two full plates up which we didn’t eat, no ‘how was it? Or Everything ok?’ He just went to walk off so I kindly told him that the food was not to standard, the answer we got ‘ok I’ll tell the chef’, next thing we just get the bill no care or interest in our feedback nor an apology, just attitude. To sum it up, poor food rude staff And just not a pleasant visit and will not return or recommend
