We visited on a bright May Monday afternoon as part of a set-meal deal with buyagift. So not an expensive meal, as we had a glass of prosecco by way of a welcome drink. We then had two courses, accompanied by a glass of wine each. The food was good, not exceptional but good. I've certainly had better steaks, but it wasn't bad. The beetroot and goat cheese salad was ok, again not exceptional, and probably didn't take a lot to prepare. A nice blend of beetroot, goats cheese and nuts. The views from the 25th floor are very good, we sat looking across the city to Egbaston Cricket ground. The service was very relaxed, not rushed with our waiter being very polite, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our visit, and we'd certainly consider visiting again, on a deal. Level 10 Google reviewer with over 1,200 reviews with 2 million views plus 14,000 photos with more than 60 million views and still going strong 💪. Check out my other reviews 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

We had our wedding at Marco Pierre White Birmingham (Cube Hotel) in Feb 2025 and were extremely disappointed by the service and how complaints have been handled since. Food was cold, portion sizes were tiny, dishes were delayed, and tables remained dirty during service. Room turnaround took over an hour, disrupting the event. My carefully planned seating was ignored—two babies were placed next to the DJ, despite clear instructions, causing one family to leave early and the other to stay away from the room most of the night. Hotel rooms were assigned incorrectly, cleanliness was an issue, and refund deposits had to be chased. We raised concerns on the day and multiple times after, but the follow-up has been poor—delayed responses, denials of facts we can back up with photos and CCTV, and no goodwill gesture or formal apology. For a premium venue, the lack of care, accountability and professionalism has been shocking. I’d strongly caution anyone considering this for their special day.

I have to say based on the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant I was a little let down. The food was sub-par and although the waitress was a wonderful sweet young woman she clearly was new and was thrown into the deep end without any real training, not her fault at all. The cutlery had to be exchanged because of a dirty set that was on the table and the glasses had spots on them. The staff and the atmosphere was the highlight of the outing and to be fair for around 50 pounds/person (Including wine) the steak deal was not terrible. However, my sirloin had quite a bit more fat than I would have liked. We went for a friend’s birthday and the tiny corner sliver of brownie (which was comped) was laughable. We decided to get another bottle of wine and enjoy the sunset on the terrace which did provide fantastic 360 views.

A bit of a mixed bag, certainly not high end dining.mix up with our booking when we arrived, got my surname totally wrong, but quickly resolved and shown to our seat.drinks arrived quickly, and orders food took, starters of chicken liver patè and tomato soup, both very nice,no complaints with that,we then ordered 2 ribeye steaks, and possibly the worst steaks we've had, very chewy and fatty, think I'd have been better off with a packet of Wrigleys chewing gum the amount I had to chew my steak !! When you go to a supposed high end steakhouse, the least you expect is a decent steak !! So unfortunately I won't be rushing back in future, high end prices for basic pub food quality .

My wife and I visited today and both of us were not impressed. We'd been bought a "buyagift" voucher for a 2-course + glass of prosecco deal. First the good, our waiter Alex was good as you'd expect based on the location and price. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was mediocre. There were three options to choose from for starters and mains. Both my Wife and I ended up ordering starters we would never have ordered anywhere else. The starters were fine, but tomato soup isn't exactly worth travelling to a restaurant for. The mains were a bit of a joke. I had to pay £10.50 to upgrade to a ribeye as the included steak was a 6oz "butchers cut" whatever that was supposed to be. The Ribeye was the toughest meat I've ever eaten (which is really something for a Ribeye). I was struggling to cut through it and Alex the waiter noticed my disappointment and asked if everything was okay. There was no seasoning whatsoever on the steak and it was incredibly bland. My wife had Chicken escalope which only comes with rocket and tomatoes... So of course we needed to pay for an actual side dish here. Water for the table was of course a paid for bottle. Lastly, we were offered a dessert menu. We noticed we were being charged full price for the deserts even though it said on the set menu "add any desert for £5". Finally we decided we'd had enough and asked for the bill. We then found out they'd added a discretionary 31% service charge to the bill. I expected so much more from this restaurant, I shouldn't be able to make better steak at home than a fine dining steakhouse.

We turned up with some concerns having read previous reviews, but need not have worried. Service was prompt, friendly and enthusiastic and the mains, while nothing special, were perfectly acceptable; desserts were very good. As experience voucher holders, we were restricted to the 1961 menu. When the bill came, the overall costs were displayed and the service charge calculated on the whole amount, with the voucher value shown as a discount. If it is to be just a discount, I don't see why we could not have access to the whole menu.

Amazing meal the steak was cooked perfectly. The service was fairly slow and the music that was played while eating really didn't match the atmosphere. It was almost old school club music. Which I love but while eating in a "high end" establishment it was a bit odd.

The location is the winner here. It took so long to sort our vouchers out that it ruined the experience on the whole. The lovely staff did sort the problem eventually but it took the shine off. The food, an afternoon tea was very disappointing. Tasteless dry sandwiches and tasteless dry bits of cake.

Me and my partner came here for an evening meal for my birthday, it’s safe to say we will not be returning. As soon as we sat down we was asked if we would like some bread and olives before we were even asked for drinks or even seen the menu. We said advised the waiter that we will most likely be getting a starter so the bread and olives won’t be necessary and he proceeded to ask again. My partner had ordered a bottle of wine for herself and did not ask me what I wanted to drink, presuming I was also having the wine, they poured us both a glass of wine without asking if it was for the both of us. Once we had ordered the food, the starter came out in less than 5 minutes which left us confused as to how they could cook it in that time. My partners calamari was very rubbery and can obviously tell this was not fresh food. The starters were then taken away, and a few moments later the waiter came over and asked us if we were done with our starter when it had already been taken away. The mains then came out, again less than 5 minutes later. The ‘ American’ burger had no flavour whatsoever and my partners steak frites were extremely garlicy. The food came out that fast that we were already finished with our 2 course meal within half an hour. Once we had received our bill they then had added a £13 service charge which I do not believe was deserved. Overall terrible experience for my birthday. Avoid at all costs.

Terrible experience at Marco pierre birmingham and turned away. We were given a gift voucher from a friend for Red letter vouchers. We activated the voucher on 6th April 2025 and booked the sparkling afternoon tea on 7th April 2025. I booked the table in person during my lunchbreak in town to ensure my voucher for the afternoon Tea was done correctly, as I don't trust online bookings. The lady at the desk confirmed everything was done right when i showed her my voucher on my phone and confirmed "yes just show this on the day". We turned up this afternoon in time for our booking at 2.30pm and we're asked to take a seat at the bar while we waited to be seated. At 2.30pm we were called to the restaurants reception desk to scan the voucher but were told we couldn't use that voucher as it was not valid for that experience and incorrectly despite me checking on the 6th April. The marco pierre white birmingham restaurant told us we would have to go online ourselves to a site called ''buy a gift' to get s full refund. We sat in the restaurant to try and do this to chat to the automated robotic online chat system. The online bot did not recognise what we were asking and kept asking me if we want another voucher instead. When I approached the desk again to tell them it didn't work despite them telling us the app would fully refund us, they did not seem to be very flexible in honouring the voucher. The restaurant also mentioned that this has happened to another couple too. They also said the red letter voucher gave us the standard afternoon tea experience even though the voucher clearly stated the sparkling afternoon tea. Instead they told us we'd have to pay the full £49.99 for it and try applying for the refund later, they did not want to deviate from their decision or honour our voucher and thru didnt even offer us to stay or we could pay the £10 difference to go ahead with our planned experience which we were so looking forward to. The restaurant even said they speak to a manager but with no success or positive outcome to keep our custom. Instead they told us we need to rectify the fault that the online system generates for ourselves and turned us away. They took no accountability or responsibility for the error clearly caused by the system error which they said has happened to a few people. I will also be writing a complaint email about this awful experience. We had theatre booked straight after and the whole day was ruined by marco pierre white birmingham not taking any responsibility or helping to resolve this system error. Instead we were made to feel guilty for their system error. I shall not be recommending marco pierre white birmingham to anyone I know ever. Please stay away as the staff do not care. I work in hospitality myself and have never treated customers this way and i aim to go out of my way to try and resolve and help customers. Marco pierre white birmingham did no such thing and it's an absolute disgrace. This voucher was given to me for my 50th birthday and it was ruined.

Disjointed, unfocussed and uncaring customer service. Went for afternoon tea which was booked as a present via a red letter days voucher. We went to the bar in person to book the afternoon tea and told voucher could be used. We arrived on the day a little early and told to sit in the bar and show the voucher when taken to the table. We were collected from the bar 10 minutes after our booked time to be told the voucher could not be used . The solution - we would be charged the full amount for the afternoon tea - and then we would have to claim a refund from red letter days - but, as our server said, good luck with that because lots of customers have had problems with them and their website is rubbish. What I would like to know is since we have redeemed the voucher on line for an afternoon tea at Marco Pierre White where is that money at the moment with red letter days or the restaurant ? either way we have paid for a service and not received it .

Marco pierre white birmingham did no such thing and it's an absolute disgrace. This voucher was given to me for my 50th birthday and it was ruined. We were not even offered any genuine apology as far as u can remember. All we got told is that we would have to try and do the stressful part of applying for the refund which clearly did not work because I was in the restaurant on the app I was shown by the member of staff but thst was unsuccessful. I would like to know, if I can't get my refund despite being shown how to do this by your staff today, who has my money? Marco pierre white birmingham? Either way marco pierre white birmingham clearly does not care. We were planning a nice afternoon tea and planned to buy more wine too. We were also not even offered any refund on the drinks we bought at the bar. I felt so upset by today's overall experience and I did not expect this low quality service from your venue. I expect and hope to get some sort of apology, FULL REFUND from marco pierre white birmingham for my voucher which is clearly lost in thr cloud somewhere. How can you expect a customer to go on an app to get a refund when you already know it doesn't work? Someone has my money and I'd like to be compensated for the full amount. I was told the red letter voucher that we used was for the full £49.99, but red letter directs you to another site and the customer needs to make sure they choose the "sparkling afternoon tea experience panoramic view" option. However, when I went in person to book my table for today , which I before today, my voucher was examined by the member of staff and I was assured it's all good to use. Your restaurant clearly do not know how to deal with customers in person to resolve issues. Instead you choose to rely on asking tje customer to go online themselves to a faulty website thst does not work.

Went for a late Sunday lunch on a sunny spring afternoon. Waited for a window side table to be made ready. French onion soup starter was fine if unremarkable but the main course of roast beef was so tough as to be inedible - I haven't been forced to eject food from my mouth in fifty years (since one of my mother's legendary cheap beef casseroles). To their credit the service staff replaced the beef with some grilled chicken which was edible although again far from the most tender meat ever. I overheard the lady on the next table mentioning that her steak was tough also. Given the prominence that the restaurant gives to the provenance of the meat, we expected better. We'd go back for the view, but not to eat. Have an aperitif at the bar then go down to En Steak by the canal for a far better piece of beef.

Disappointing Experience at Marco Pierre, Birmingham My recent visit to Marco Pierre in Birmingham was nothing short of a culinary disaster. We was expecting a delightful afternoon tea, but instead, we was served just two measly slices of cucumber. The promised cheese and pickle sandwich was completely absent, which was bewildering. The chips, when they finally arrived, were a sight to behold—overcooked, blackened, As for the warm scones, they were so solid that not even a good slathering of cream could save them; they were utterly inedible. To make matters worse, the service was shockingly poor. I felt neglected and unvalued as a customer. I honestly cannot recommend this place for food; it was a regrettable experience all round.

Not what we expected. Nobody there to welcome or direct given the fact that the till is so far off from the entry. Once we arrived, we were told that our table was given to someone else. Once sat down at another table, ceiling light didn’t work or was off so we were not even able to read the menu. When we told the waitress about it, they didn’t seem to bother and asked us to use our flashlight to read it. We ordered our drinks and 2 glasses, including mine, had lip stains on it and grease. We told the waiter and got another one which was now half empty. The live music was great but too loud, and on top of that there some ladies who literally kept screaming singing along to the music, which made it worse on top of all the noisy ambiance. Staff didn’t seem bothered to come up with measures. Overall, the food is nice but still don’t understand what the fuss is about.

Myself and my Nan visited this restaurant as a 80th birthday meal for my Nan. The food was amazing and service even better. We enjoyed every second of it. The staff and managers went out of there way to make this extra special, after my Nan having a bad fall in the Mailbox car park on the way to the restaurant. The car park floor was uneven and broken which caused my Nan to fall forward on to the concrete and have injuries to her hand and her face. She did not require the emergency services but there was no first aid kit available in the car park site, so I managed to get her into the restaurant and the staff were extremely helpful. They provided first aid to my Nan and kept checking in on her. We honestly could not thank them enough for their kindness and exceptional service. They even brought out a candle and brownie to my Nan singing Happy Birthday without being asked. Thank you so much, we will never forget how amazing you guys were. We will be 100% be coming back

A very strange visit to MPW steakhouse. I have been a customer before but its been quite average so never compelled to write a review before now. Pros: great view of the city - this is their selling point and perhaps a crutch they lean on too much. If you wish to book a window seat there will be a surcharge on your booking. The menu is a fair price and most steaks will come with at least chips and a few roasted tomatoes and many steaks are under £40 each - which compared to other higher end steak restaurants in the city is a good price considering the view. Wine list was a good selection at a decent price and they had a good selection of gins. Cons: 1) our table wasn't ready, (we were 7 mins early) so asked to go to the bar which was absolutely fine - we weren't collected however and I went back to the host 15 mins after our booking time and we were sat. They had hosts seeing people to their tables so assumed we'd be collected. 2) The barman used his TEETH to open a bottle of gin in front of me which was very unsanitary. mentioned this to our waiter and he said its an issue for the bar manager not the floor manager 3) Men's toilet had a urinal overflowing - I notified security who was very reluctant to do anything about it, but sauntered over and gave me a thumbs up when he investigated. 4) Chips were undercooked for both mine and my husbands meal - they were replaced quickly with the fries and these were fine. 5) music was house music and was turned up twice throughout the meal - to a point where we couldn't properly talk to each other. Overall the steak was cooked well, as ordered and clearly had been left to rest in a warm place to remain tender. The steak was very under seasoned as was the red cabbage side dish. Service was friendly but slow - sat with empty plates for a while and served by numerous people throughout the night so lacked consistency. We didn't have time for dessert with the delay in getting sat and the slower service - we were at the theatre across the road for 7:30pm and reservation was for 5:30pm The branding that MPW made Gordon Ramsey cried is also tired - the large poster boasting about this seems a little much in this day and age.

The steak I ordered looked good but came out luke warm and there was no taste to the steak wasn’t juicy and full of flavour just okay. I’ve had much better at miller and carter. For the price of a £170 bill I wasn’t happy. I was disappointed with this as it was a special occasion for me and my wife I had to pay extra for a window seat aswell which wasn’t great views so if your reading this don’t do that 😂👍 Took me over 10 mins to get my bill when looking around there was loads of staff just talking I expected better experience from a restaurant with the marco name

The bar person named Marius checked the bottle in question that was listed on drinks menu but pointed out that the bottle itself did not specify gluten free and on checking further did contain barley … opted for Apple 🍎 and Raspberry fusion instead but really impressed that he checked this in advance and prevented what round have been an unpleasant reaction. 10/10 Marius for excellent service and welcome to Hotel …

Great place to have an afternoon tea! They made a mistake about vegetarian instead of pescatarian but solved the issue at the end by giving us some extra salmon sandwiches. Service charge was added without notifying us, which my friend wasn't very pleased about. Other than that. A lovely place to go.

For all the hype this place gets I was disappointed. Sadly no knowledge of gluten intolerances by our waitress, could just manage gluten free bread. Scarce options for gluten free and it was so noisy in there, I didn't find it a great first experience. Dress code says no trainers, but loads of people were wearing them, so it's not as exclusive as it makes out. I got asked for feedback by the restaurant and no one followed it up so clearly they are happy with the service they provided to me, I won't be returning. Best thing was the view out the window!

The view is all this place has going for it. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. You will find better offerings downstairs in the miller and carter. Steak was not cooked as requested and still not up to standard when brought back. There was a small hair in my partners mac and cheese which was swapped for a fresh one once our waiter was informed. But the biggest let down was the service. We asked for water upon being seated which never made it to our table. We also asked for more wine after our starter which also never made it to the table. Definitely felt like an afterthought dining here and although the view was spectacular I can't see myself returning. The average but still tasty food (minus the hair) didn't outshine the service here.

I would say our afternoon tea experience was at best average. We were expecting so much more with such a well known chefs name over the door. As previous posts the sandwiches were underwhelming, and tasteless. The best part was the scone, and tea.we left the mass produced looking cakes. Our waiter however was lovely-im sorry i cant recall his name. Overal i think the venue is resting on its laurels due to the celebrity name and lovely views-however, the resturant we thought looked a bit tired and looks like needs a revamp.

Beautiful location amd some of the staff were pleasant. Starter was delicious, but the quality of the steak was very poor for a fine dining steakhouse, and it was not cooked as requested. Most people in our party did not eat their steak, as it was that bad, which was incredibly disappointing. The most disappointing part of the evening was the attitude of the manager and his colleague. Both were dismissive, defensive and rude. They had absolutely no customer service skills and lied about events on the night. I've received better customer service at McDonald's. I would not recommend this restaurant for the attitude of the staff alone.

Had dinner here tonight, nothing like it used to be. Walked in & it was more like a nightclub & felt like we had to shout to each other across the table. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium/well, it more of less walked to my table it was that raw. Then we had a birthday surprise cake & staff started to sing happy birthday at our table but it wasn’t our birthday it was the lady next to us. We ordered dessert and they came over saying it was a chocolate brownie but it was a sticky toffee pudding. The list just goes on of errors throughout the night, never will return again.

Let's be honest the resturant does well purely due to location and the views. The food is average. Steaks are cooked well but not seasoned and taste plain. The onion rings and chips are well overdone and almost just batter. The spinach mush the pile on is awful. I've had better meals at mid range resturants. Just all hype

I bought the afternoon tea via Virgin Experience Days for my husband,s birthday. What an awful experience it was. Lack lustre atmosphere, tasteless sandwiches, stingy pot of jam for 2, sliced cakes ( unknown contents) instead of individually made, dry scone. The staff member was unaware of what decaf coffee was and brought tea! Then to end the whole experience off we have both been up in the night with severe food poisoning! 😒. We visited Marco Pierre White in Birmingham for a 40th birthday meal with a group of 18. Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. The food was underwhelming—overly fatty, bland, and tasteless. For a high-end restaurant, we expected much better quality. To make matters worse, one of our guests paid £90 for a round of shots, only for Brian, the manager, to accuse us of recieving these when we hadn’t after one of the guests asked where they was. His attitude was rude and unprofessional, which left a sour taste after what should have been a celebratory occasion. It’s disappointing to see such poor service and unappetizing food, especially for a special event. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

My last night in the UK, this place was highly recommended by some really nice people I met while here, who apparently addressed the restaurant as their first choice! However I didn’t really experience the fine dine experience but a rude server who served me brown burnt bread no butter even, and as a person of colour I found this very insulting knowing brown burnt bread isn’t their complementary touch! Then when requesting to speak to the Mangaer she came across very defensive using her hands to speak with an attitude. Hopefully as she claimed it was, no one else of colour needs this sort of “mistake” happening to them!! HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH ✌🏽

We visited for afternoon tea and, unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet expectations. The tea arrived lukewarm, and the sandwiches were underwhelming—some even tasted stale. We were given just one small pot of cream, which felt a little stingy. Despite having around 20 staff members, the service was slow. The tea and food were served before the prosecco, and we weren’t offered any additional sandwiches or drinks. That said, the atmosphere was lovely, and the views were stunning, which somewhat redeemed the experience. Overall, I’d give it a fair 7/10. Also, a service charge was added—are we in London?

The place is that down, it became a joke. Last time we ve been there, waitresses swapped our stakes and no one told us until we realised it ourselves eating it half way though and complained. Then waitress came and just swapped our plates lol how respectful was that move ""! This time I had a voucher from virgin experience for 2 people saying it's valid on any day Mon-Thurs except Xmas and valentine day. So we booked a day before valentine's - thursday 13th. The place doesn't answer phone calls at all, so eventually I had to email them a day before the visit to confirm our booking. In reply I received a phone call saying I can't use my voucher because it's valentine's day. But it's not, it's the 13th. Well, it's company policy I've heard 10 times. They don't bother breaching trading standards to sell for what it's been advertised. I didn't get why we can't use our voucher when it's written on it we can. Also I got some lies from the staff over the phone. Regarding she sent me an email with an explanation, but the only email I received from the place was a booking reminder. So I had to cancel my booking one day before valentine's day leaving me with no chance to book elsewhere. Nasty experience. I would rather bin the voucher than go to the place.

Marco Pierre White Birmingham Afternoon Tea A very pleasant afternoon tea with friends at the MPW at The Cube, Mailbox, Birmingham. The views are great and the restaurant nicely decorated, and the service was good. There are a couple of changes since we last had this 2 years ago, in that instead of the normal cake tier we were given two wooden blocks with the food on, which blocked our view of our friends for most of the meal until we placed the cakes on a plate and removed the wooden blocks. Also previously we had proper cakes and these were cake slices. Still we enjoyed ourselves and we did use our £60.00 voucher for £100.00 value, which again has changed over the years when it was £50.00 for £100.00 during Black Friday event. The standard Afternoon Tea price is £24.95 per person, and you can add to that as well. It is also difficult for hospitality at the present and it was very quiet on the Tuesday afternoon when we attended. Regards Gary Saunders

We visited the restaurant with a gift voucher which I had received for Christmas. The views were amazing even though we chose not to sit by the window. For our starter, we had bread and whitebait, both of which were delicious. Before we had finished our starters, our mains were already on the table, which made the meal feel very rushed. We both ate a ribeye steak for our mains. Both steaks were cooked to a perfect medium-rare. My only complaint is that the steaks were both very gristly and felt like a fairly cheap cut. This was slightly disappointing but it was generally a nice meal which we both enjoyed. When the bill came, we had been charged for the peppercorn sauce, which we had initially been told was included. The waitress was very helpful and removed this fee from the bill. Overall, it was a pleasant meal and made for a nice evening.

During my recent visit to Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill at The Cube in Birmingham, I was absolutely delighted by the exceptional customer service provided by Tracey and Sid. Their warm and attentive approach made my birthday celebration truly special and unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, Tracey greeted me with a bright smile and a heartfelt “Happy Birthday!” She ensured I had the perfect table with a stunning view of Birmingham’s skyline, adding to the already magical atmosphere. She also took the time to recommend dishes that would suit my taste, making sure every detail was just right. Sid went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring my drinks were always topped up and checking in regularly without being intrusive. His friendly personality and attention to detail made the evening even more enjoyable. To top it all off, Tracey and Sid surprised me with a beautifully presented dessert and a candle, making me feel truly special. The little touches, from their genuine enthusiasm to their seamless service, made my birthday meal a night to remember. The combination of their outstanding hospitality, the delicious food, and the breathtaking views made my experience at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse absolutely perfect. The dining experience and customer service were severely lacking. Firstly, one of the waitresses inadvertently spilled water on our table. Secondly, I had informed the reception desk that this booking was for my wife, as we were here to celebrate her birthday. I inquired if they offer any special birthday promotions, and she assured me that she would relay this information to the manager and manager will organise nice birthday wish message on the table Despite my request, they did not bother to offer us birthday wishes. I recently visited this restaurant and was very disappointed with the service. Here’s what happened: They brought out our main courses while we were still eating our starters, which felt rushed and disorganized. Nobody asked if we wanted drinks, and they didn’t clear the empty glasses we had on the table, leaving us with five cluttered glasses throughout the meal. While my son was still eating his main meal, they started clearing plates, which made us feel uncomfortable and hurried. No one came to check if the food was okay at any point during our visit. To make matters worse, they brought the bill while my son was still eating, as if they wanted us to leave quickly. I asked to have the service charge removed from the bill because I was unhappy with the experience. The person I assume was the supervisor (dressed differently) agreed but didn’t bother asking for feedback or showing any concern. Overall, the service was unprofessional and inattentive, leaving us feeling rushed and unvalued as customers. I wouldn’t recommend dining here if you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable meal.

When we arrived we were taken to our table for our afternoon tea. The waitress asked about I tolerances and allergies and we both said no butter on our sandwiches and my sister said that she had an allergy to garlic and chocolate. This had never been a problem before in other establishments including the Savoy where we last had afternoon tea. My sister said she could eat the sandwiches and scones. Staff of varying levels came to see her to say that because of cross contamination it would cause a problem. She was then asked to sign a disclaimer which gas never happened before and was very embarrassing. At this point and we are half an hour in, we had no tea or prosecco. My sisters fizzy arrived but not mine. The head waitress came out to say that the chef was refusing to serve my sister afternoon tea despite her signing the waiver. Still no tea and we are three quarters of an hour into our experience. My prosecco arrived and we were offered a very limited menu for a 2 course lunch which she had to go with. I still had the afternoon tea which arrived long after my sister got her food. We eventually had tea. The afternoon tea consisted of dry sandwiches, a macaroon and 3 cakes I could barely eat and a scone which didn't seem that fresh. Towards the end of our 2 hours we were offered more tea but service was definitely lacking. I paid for our window seats and was told that they had waived the service charge. Frankly I would have argued the service charge anyway as we had had such an awful experience. Would I eat there again, definitely not. It was not worth the money. This place is overrated Me & my girlfriend celebrated our anniversary here hoping for some really good food and drinks We were quite disappointed. I had a simple burger + fries -> difficult to find the entrance to this restaurant -> £5 Per person charge if you’d like to sit by the window -> no music playing, all I could hear was people talking -> the window seats were really close to other people -> if you ask for sauce you will have to ask multiple times as the pot they give out is tiny, and they only fill it 1/4 full -> meat was dry -> meat had multiple hard gristle pieces inside -> fries were ok -> Drinks were ok but I expect better for the price -> 1 cocktail is £14 -> free happy anniversary “desert” (It was “happy anniversary” written in chocolate with a strawberry cut in half and a small chocolate brownie cut in half) -> how can a Chocolate Brownie + Strawberry taste weird ? - it tasted stale / old 2 burgers, Fries 4 cocktails Total Price= £120 (price does not reflect quality at this restaurant) Will not go back here again, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone either.

This is a nice place but is quite expensive compared to other venues in the locality. At nearly £7 a pint there are ma you options a few minutes walk away to save you a few quid (especially if you are out for a few beers)
