Manor Tea Rooms in Maldon

What a lovely little find! We were going to go elsewhere, but Essex Highways decided to close off most of the roads out of the Dengie on the same day and roads out were chaos! We actually live in a nearby village and had seen the signs to Manor House, but had never been. Relaxing decor, wonderful welcome and service. Food was great (recommend the smoked salmon bagel) and didn’t have to wait long. Lovely friendly lasses working there, homemade cakes and bread pudding , clean and welcoming….What’s not to like?

Went for breakfast last Saturday and cannot recommend Manor House Tea Rooms highly enough. Lovely people, comfortable, attractive surroundings and delicious breakfast - very good value for money. I particularly like the option of choosing the items I wanted and paying per item rather than having things I don't particularly want to eat. Ideal for anyone on a restricted diet! I have also had lunch there a couple of times recently with friends and again great service and lovely meals.

A bright, fresh, clean atmosphere as you walk in, your eyes drawn to the China cabinet filled with fine china that gives a nod to the English tearoom. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the food is freshly made and a delightful cabinet of homemade cakes tempts you to treat yourself. Very clean, good toilet facilities, don’t let the car park put you off.

A comfortable and cosy place for morning coffee. Delicious cake and super friendly staff. Will be going back.

Had an impromptu meet up with friends today. First time visit under new name and it didn’t disappoint. Warm, friendly, accommodating (there were 8 of us) and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you ladies. You worked your socks off. Will definitely be back.

Staff were friendly and attentive, food was freshly cooked and excellent, the tea room was lovely and clean, couldn't find any fault, would recommend this establishment to everyone. (plus, plenty of parking available)

We have been for breakfast a few times here. Always good food and friendly helpful staff. Lunch menu & specials looks good and we will try to get back to sample them soon 😋Highly recommend

Me and my boyfriend came here for breakfast on Saturday! It was really nice and the staff are lovely! Service was quick and the food was delicious. Especially the freshly baked scone! Will definitely be coming back :)

What an amazing place to eat! Lovely service from lovely people. Try the sweet chilly onion bhaji panini, its amazing! Been 6 times and can't wait to go again.

Delicious English Breakfast. Proper farm sausages, thick cut tasty bacon, tasty mushrooms and a good size portion. Staff are very friendly and reasonable prices. I look forward to working my way through the rest of the menu now I have discovered this place

If you have 2 hours of your life to waste and never get back visit this tea room. At least 20 mins before we had our order taken. 2 bagels 2 coffes 2 slice of toast and 3 soft drinks. 70 minutes later with constant poor apologies finally received our food Wouldn't of minded waiting if bagel was nice. Won't be going back.

Popped in for a tea and brunch. I had the smashed avocado on sourdough- it was superb. We were going to have cake afterwards but we were so full we had to have it to take away. I can highly recommend the lemon drizzle and the carrot cake and my husband loved his salt beef and pickle brick lane bagel. Will definitely be going back there. A really lovely friendly tea rooms.

Gorgeous cooked breakfast with quality food. Husband had homemade chilli con carne, which looked amazing. Even had a malteser milkshake to take away 😍 Staff are really friendly and nothing is too much. Thanks for a lovely visit!

Came here for a quick bit to eat with my young son and I'm so happy we stopped by. Lovely staff, who made a great fuss of my son and amazing food for amazing quality. Definitely will be going again with the whole family. Such a lovely atmosphere.

Found the manor tea rooms spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious as was the tea. The staff were very accommodating as I wanted to devise that wasn't on the menu. Will definitely be returning to sample more delicious food.

It was nice and a casual tea room they have milkshakes and full English’s it was brilliant the money had lots of choices on the Menoi I have took a pic so if your planing to go it’s at the bottoms

Great service, plenty of space and reasonably priced. Amazing to have a local spot like this for Althorne and surrounding towns/villages.

It’s great to have a tea rooms back in Althorne again. The bagel and panini were fresh and tasty and the staff were very friendly. Good baby changing facilities too. We will definitely be back.
