Order at 9am if you want lunch 🙄 honestly I don't think I've been anywhere so slow. Even at full capacity it should not be hard to manage with the level of staff. Avoid.. Unless you see going for breakfast as a full day activity.

went to the farm shop today for breakfast but we just wish that on arrival we were told there could possibly be a 45 minute wait with the food even though we had booked and was seated straight away , we ordered our drinks xtra hot but by the time the breakfast came out 45 minutes later wed finshed our drinks and it puts an added £20 on the bill which you have already paid which then makes it a very expensive breakfast when we would of said we will have our drinks with our food as if you have 2 large coffees you wouldnt want a breakfast , but when the breakfast finally made an appearance it was piping hot but you could tell eggs had been standing beacuse they werent soft they had gone hard normally we would of said something but we didnt want to wait another 45 minutes for eggs so we ate them and did enjoy the rest of it ,but it doesnt normally take that long so maybe not enough staff but just a gentle reminder that there could be a wait would of made a difference and it does stop you moaning about the wait , it wont stop us returning as it is a pleasant experience but pre warn custmers please then it will stop the reviews

Was staying locally and wanted somewhere for breakfast. Most seem to be closed on a Monday but luckily for us the Manor Farm Shop / Tearoom was open and was highly recommended. Sat outside as we had our dog with us, but that was no issue. Great breakfast served really quickly. Always rate a breakfast by the quality of the sausage and bacon and this was spot on.

We were looking for a campsite at last minute, rang ahead and was greeted with a lovely lady who said they had room for us (camper & car with tent) We arrived and were warmly welcomed. Everything explained and getting set up was easy. The facilities were great, shower, toilets and hook up. We hired a fire pit at super value. The farm shop was an added bonus. Got some supplies for BBQ. Followed by an amazing farm fresh breakfast the following morning. Loved seeing the geese fly over head in the evening while the sun was setting.

Initially we had a long wait for order to be taken. We then waited over an hour for underwhelming food to arrive. When we enquired about our order we were told it hadn’t been an hour yet (only 54 mins). But then it still didn’t arrive for another 10 mins. Fresh orange juice was good though.

Hoping to find something better than the usual service station fare, i found this venue on a google search. Given the reviews perhaps our expectations were set too high, but this was over priced, very average food, with terrible service. We had to wait 45 mins from ordering before our food arrived, having had to chase twice (we're juts plating it up being the stock refrain....) and our four meals arriving over a 10 min period. Toast barely grilled, tomatoes that tasted like they had been microwaved and then singed with a blow torch, and pancakes that looked and tasted super market bought. The one upside - yes, the sausages and bacon are pretty good. Oh and was an apology offered at any point? Of course not. If we hadn't been in such a rush I'd have complained properly. Avoid.

Much Better than our last visit, staff were really friendly and most of what we had was really good. What would have made it even better was the poached eggs being soft yolks and not having to pay as soon as we placed the order at the table. Perhaps move the till to where you enter and exit the cafe and you may find people order more drinks etc.

Great farm shop and cafe. Breakfasts are tasty, using their own farm bred bacon and sausages. If busy, expect a delay as it's all cooked fresh. Pre-booking is available. Menu available online. Wide range of farm bred meats and other local foods available in the shop. Plenty of parking. I have returned a number of times for breakfast and they haven't let me down!

Best breakfast I’ve had in years! Was going to the festival up the road, so my friend suggested we meet here for breakfast. What a lovely place. We sadly didn’t buy from the farm shop as we were going to be out all day and didn’t want to leave produce in a hot car, but it all looked awesome. We diverted off the motorway to stop here for brunch and break as the website shows there are animals as well as the cafe and farm shop so we thought it would be a great place to stop with our 2 year old granddaughter. Very disappointed to find a scruffy chicken coop with one bird was the extent of the animals. There wasn’t a pig or sheep in sight. The food was nice but we had to wait a long time even though it wasn’t busy. Website needs updating to reflect what animals there are!

We thought we’d try somewhere new and so glad we did. As you walk into the shop area is a wow, well presented and loads of fresh produce, through the shop, plenty of local produce and then to the cafe area. Nice touch to wait to be seated then a good menu. My wife had full breakfast, farm produced meat, being vegetarian and not a great fan of vegetarian breakfasts, I had a cheese ploughman’s, just the job. Super presentation but more importantly tasted lovely. Cheeky takeaway cakes and slice of pie for good measure. Definitely be going back

A couple of work collegues and I wer on our way to Birmingham for an agricultural show and we needed some breakfast rather than getting ripped of at the NEC or motorway services. We were travelling up the M6 but it was well worth the detour away from the motorway. We all had the standard full english with a pot of tea, loose leaf none of your bags here! Breakfast arrived within 10 minuites, not bad considering that we arrived just as they were opening up at 9am. I had considered going to a nearby all you can eat breakfast buffet priced at roughly the same and when the plates were put on the table we were slightly dissapointed that there wasn't more. However as soon as we tasted the food it became apparent that these ingredients were in a different league to an a breakfast buffet. It has been a while since I have tasted such a good breakfast and as it turned out there was ample food on the plate. On the way out through the Farm shop there is the option to buy the same sausages that is cooked in the kitchen as well as plenty of other meats and cheeses. Next time I call a cool bag will come with me as all the meats were frozen. Well worth getting off the M6 for.

Came here for lunch , and chose mushroom wellington with stilton sauce . Had to wait 15 minutes for meal to be brought to table by a young lad , and I was very disappointed with the meal. There was a meagre amount of mushroom filling in a soft and flat puff pastry . Puff pastry should be crisp and light . . It was served with a few very limp lettuce leaves and some tiny pieces of onion . There was a portion of chips that tasted limp, were lukewarm and seemed as they had been cooked the previous day . There is a sign in the restaurant which boasts about the origin and quality of the food that is served. What a shame that a good quality chef is not there to cook it .

My colleagues in our motorcycle club and I often visit this place on our regular Saturday morning breakfast runs (the last time was just this weekend). It is about an hour's ride from where I live (A lot closer for some other members) but it is worth it. I always have the Mr Grindall's breakfast, with extra bacon and toast and it is never less than splendid. The locally sourced produce is excellent, it is always well cooked and super-tasty, and the staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. Even the tea is made with loose leaf instead of bags. One of our favourite breakfast destinations. The only slight complaint I might have, is that the chairs always seem a little low for me, so not quite as comfortable as it could be, but that is a very minor thing.

Highly recommend this for eating out. The farm shop is wonderful but not so sure about the interiors shop , seems a little out of place and the staff are not exactly helpful or forthcoming in there. They would be better off showcasing local crafters or artists, more in keeping with the spirit of the farm shop in my humble opinion.

This looked on the map like a good halfway journey break for breakfast. We weren't disappointed. Just a few minutes from the M1/M6/A14 junction, plenty of parking, and a perfectly cooked, wonderfully tasty full English with prior bacon and sausage. The cafe is attached to a small but interesting farm shop with very tempting home cooked frozen dishes and an impressive selection of local beers. I wish it was local to us, but will just have to make do with bookmarking for future journeys.

Came here with my boyfriend and his parents, we all enjoyed the friendly service, cosy surroundings and excellent food. We ordered a mixture of food from the standard menu and the specials board, all meals were excellent as were the desserts. Will definitely visit again

This place is welcoming of mountain bikers. There is an area to leave and lock your machine. The floors are quarry tiled, so no guilt about tripping in a bit mucky. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food and coffee are very good and the farm shop is temting - I bought Sunday lunch (lamb) as an impulse purchase because it was rare-breed and from the farm. The premises are superb, too.

Went for lunch and the liver dish was fantastic. Slow service but pleasant to wait. Lots of home made and local products. Don't miss the beer shop and craft shop.

We haven't been to Kilworth House for a very long time but thought it was about time to give it a another go! Well you won't be disappointed - the food in the The Wordsworth was amazing! We have been to many Michelin starred restaurants and I must say that this would not look out of place! We were very well looked after. The only I would say is that they need another dish per course on the menu as there were only 3 starters, 3 main courses etc. Also it was a shame that there wasn't more people in the restaurant but I suppose it is January. We will definitely be going back!

An Absolute Gem in the Heart of the Countryside! I’m not from around the area, but during my stay, I found myself coming back to The Staff of Life Pub every single day—and with good reason! The food here is simply out of this world. From the mouth-watering tapas, which were a delightful mix of flavors and textures, to the traditional roast dinner that was as comforting as it was delicious, everything was cooked to perfection. And don’t even get me started on the apple pie—it’s truly to die for. Each bite was a slice of heaven, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. Beyond the food, the ambience of the pub is fantastic. It has that perfect blend of warm, cozy, and welcoming, with a lively atmosphere that makes you feel at home, whether you're a regular or just passing through. The décor is charming, and the subtle lighting creates a wonderfully relaxed vibe. What really made my experience special was the incredible service, particularly from Sharon. She is such a gem—warm, attentive, and always ready with a smile. Sharon made sure that every visit was memorable and went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect. Whether you're local or just visiting, The Staff of Life is a must-visit. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are simply unbeatable. I’ll definitely be back!

Mums's 90th suprise birthday get together 🥳 A fantastic venue and our own area which made it even more special. There was 21 of us and the room was ideal. The 3 course meal was amazing! Great value for money. The staff Bill, Hattie and Karen were superb 👏 thank you! Some of us stayed overnight and the room we had was really clean and comfortable. No breakfast available here but is available a short drive into Ullesthorpe. Altogether a brilliant venue and would recommend this for a personal function.

Very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble with my food allergy. We had Sunday roast which was delicious and plentiful and after a short break we found room for dessert. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
