My brother lives just round the corner from here and is a regular so we popped in for lunch while I was visiting this weekend. Manna is a little jewel, with super friendly staff welcoming you the moment you set foot in the door and a range of breads, cakes and pastries all on display. This isn't a "shipped-in" bakery - everything looked fresh and handmade with a great range of knowledge about the food from the staff. The vegan halloumi sandwich is phenomenal - squeaky, authentic tasting vegan halloumi and a chilli jam that is exactly the right level of heat to set the whole thing off. I also ordered fries and these were crispy, hot and perfectly salted - absolutely delicious. The meat eaters also had a great time digging in - my brother had a roast beef muffin which was overflowing with fillings and a bowl of crispy, perfect hash browns; but from my perspective it's really hard to find vegan sandwiches that aren't falafel or hummus so this was a real treat. Perfect little lunch spot, I'll definitely be back next time I visit. Be warned if you're planning on dining in, there are only a few seats, but judging by the locals queuing for takeaway it's just as good enjoyed at home. Thank you Manna - we'll be back!

This is the best cafe I have ever been to. The coffees are exceptional, the food is delicious and the staff are absolutely fantastic. Always friendly, always kind and always willing to do whatever it takes to make sure your experience is brilliant. The Pain Au Raisins will make you emotional. Possibly the most middle class thing ever muttered by me. Anyone that gives anything other than 5 stars to this place is a complete weapon.

Absolute brilliant find .In Harrogate just tootling around looking for a coffee nd cake came across the bakery come coffee shop . It is small but the choice and quality is superb. Before were allowed to take a seat the waiter sanitized the table, something which doesnt happen as much as it did during the epidemic. Great cups of coffee ,excellent delicious cakes ,which were so good we bought some to take back to our hotel room at the Crown Plaza. If only we lived closer as the range of breads etc was second to none . The really good sign was that the locals were coming in to buy breads, sandwiches etc . Cannot rate it high enough .

This is a brilliant little place, the quality of the bread and other produce is exceptionally good and in addition they sell Wensleydale eggs which are by far and away the freshest you can get. So many places in the area sell Taylor's eggs but Wensleydale are better - perhaps the profit margin is better with Taylor's. I have yet to try the cafe but judging by the fact that it is nearly always full I assume that it will be equally good. The delightfully friendly young team complement the food and all in all a great place. Nobody could fault it.

I had a beautiful scotch egg, the yolk of the egg was a little runny and it tasted absolutely amazing. I also went for a black pudding and pork sausage roll which went really well with a little brown sauce and bought some incredible bread for the house, a cheese and jalapeno loaf and a multigrain loaf which were both perfect. Expert bakers, brilliant food, brilliant service, I will certainly be straight back here on my next return to Harrogate. Keep it up guys, truely amazing food.

I visited today with an old friend and thought I would have something to eat before driving back to Scotland. The coffee is perfect with great offering of different diary alternatives such as almond. Then came the savoury pancakes - wow homemade fluffy and superb with delicious high quality bacon to accompany them and a great maple syrup on the side. The table next to us also had pancakes which looked equally superb with different toppings. The bread is the best in Yorkshire in my humble opinion. Brownies and doughnuts are also hero products. This is an independent local business run by a young couple who work so hard to make it friendly warm and welcoming. They use the most high quality ingredients and strive to make people enjoy their food. It is also great to see they have some more mature members of the team serving behind the counter. All in all made my 5 hour drive back up north pleasant and I will definitely be taking my daughter who is a pancake expert!

A great cafe offering several vegetarian dishes and an excellent bakery. We had chickpea, spinach and feta burgers which were tasty and nicely presented, but they could have done with some egg to bind the ingredients together. The caramelised onion bread we bought to take away is delicious.

Deceptively spacious and well designed. As you would expect an excellent choice of breads and cakes. I expected the menu to be sandwich based but there is a surprisingly exciting choice. Bang bang chicken was excellent and the halloumi fries are something different, light and crispy but not greasy. Portions were large, not leaving room for a cake but that solved the dilemma of what to choose. Service was excellent, with busy yet cheery staff who made us feel at home. We shall definitely be returning

Visited today with my mum and dad as a Friday treat and what a lovely afternoon we had. The decor is lovely and bigger then you expect, comfortable seating (as someone who suffers with a bad back this is always a plus!) and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Love the selection on the menu, something for everyone if you don’t just fancy a sarnie. We can highly recommend the halloumi fries and the very delicious coffee. We all left with extra bread and cakes for the weekend as it all smelt too good to resist. A fabulous run cafe and will definitely be going back! Well done Manna team!

Lets start with the positives, GREAT bread, its an independent.- fab .Now a cafe as well as a bakery, the interior design is lovely, as are the staff, also the coffee is very good. I SO want this to be good and do well; I have visited 3 times, each time with a different person, none of us liked the food. They have a great looking menu, unfortunately it does not deliver. sandwiches are ENORMOUS, RENDERING them dry. Poached eggs on toast, runny poor quality eggs, way too much dry toast. The full english is AWFUL, way too much all sitting in the middle of silly bevelled plates, proportionally all wrong, poorly cooked, and very unappealing. Im afraid you need a new chef, one who understands food, and cooking.

A fantastic bakery in Harrogate with a superb selection of bread - they will also slice it for you for an extra 10p. They also do a good selection of fresh sandwiches - worth stopping by for lunch and a wander round valley gardens.

If Jesus made bread then this would surely be it, all that's missing is turning water into wine. An absolute taste sensation, the weekly specials are well worth getting up early for to ensure you get there in time. 🤘

I have tried so many different breads at Manna, it's hard to decide which is my favourite. I love the part-sourdough rye loaf that they do at the weekend, but my partner loves the spelt & honey one. We're also enjoying tasting our way through the small focaccie. Take your pick.

If you have any interest at all in how bread should taste, then Manna Bakery is the place to go. Very pleasant people running it, making excellent quality breads, a million miles from Chorleywood! Delicious sandwiches and baked goods that are well priced and nicely displayed too. All good in my opinion and well worth visiting.

I go to Manna Bakery almost daily, it's warm and inviting. The owners are always smiling and are more than happy to help. The selections of breads, cakes, brioche, sandwiches, tarts etc are varied and the specialist loaves of bread are immense. There really are not enough superlatives for Manna Bakery and the owners. I highly recommend this Bakery if your wanting a cup of coffee on a cold morning or if you want a couple of sandwiches whilst sitting on the stray. You won't be disappointed.

Oh boy, my first negative review AND at a place I had previously recommended! I complained today that I was served food with the same hand that had handled money (ie no tongs or gloves to pick up a Florentine and a loaf of bread). I would have accepted an apology for the slip of attention and a quick replacement. To my amazement though I was told that this is what it's like at most bakeries and was treated as though I was just being difficult. Really? Besides thinking this is the most basic (Health and Safety) issue when serving food, that attitude makes me suspicious of what happens in the background where I can't see what happens.

I have to limit my visits to Manna because I can demolish most of one of their loaves (with or without butter) at one sitting. The bread may be marginally more expensive than supermarket "fresh baked" but the quality and taste is worth every penny.

My son and I visited Manna in Harrogate in the afternoon. We came robust bread but were impressed by their menu and so stayed for sandwiches. The eating space was small; just high stools by the window. But the service was excellent and the quality of the food was top class. I highly reccomend the coronation Chicken on seeded brown bap. We also felt compelled to taste the delicious cakes. All bread & cakes are baked on site by the owner. His wife runs the shop. This is a delightful local business. Do go there: you won't be disappointed!!

The staff are great. They accommodated our new baby and made sure we had room for the pram. The food is the best quality whenever we come. Every time we come it makes me think why we didn't eat there before this year!.

Stumbled on this little eatery while visiting Knaresborough on a Sunday lunch time. We went in to get maybe a sandwich and thought it wasn’t going to be great to be honest but ended up having a cooked lunch and it was so good! The place was busy and you could tell they were locals as they were chatting across to each other. We looked at the menu and decided to have have a cooked meal. I ordered pie chips and peas and my husband a burger with chips salad and coleslaw and a pot of tea. You could actually get a 3 course Sunday lunch for £14.50! When mine came there were no peas but another bowl soon arrived full of fresh vegetables and a big jug of gravy. Food was really good the staff were lovely. The lady said that as she had been cooking Sunday lunches she gave me some of the veg. We were thoroughly impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. Great food and great value for money! Definitely worth trying!

Recently stayed for 3 nights whilst at a conference. All of the staff were incredibly welcoming and chatty, room (no.4) was clean, comfortable, spacious and homely. The Full Yorkshire Breakfast was the absolute star of the show, best I've had in years, and the location spot on for the town centre shops and bars and conference centre. Highly recommend staying here

Popped in whilst looking for a quick lunch. Very unusual setting for a tea room but works well with about 10 tables set up between the pews & the altar. The pews act as an overflow area if all tables are taken but we arrived as one was being vacated. Very friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellent value for money. Menu is limited to a choice of rolls, soup and a tempting range of homemade cakes & scones. Rolls could have improved if pickle, mustard or mayonnaise had been offered but the cakes & scones made up for this as they were very nice. The church itself is a delightful building and worth a visit in it’s own right. An interesting alternative lunch option.
