The food is incredibly flavorful and lives up to the hype—spicy and delicious! However, the service could be improved. While not all staff members were an issue, we did notice that we had to wait longer for the bill and sauce compared to other tables. A bit more attentiveness would make the experience even better.

I had an amazing dining experience at Africana! The food was absolutely phenomenal—full of rich flavors, perfectly seasoned, and authentically prepared. Every dish was a delight, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. The service was just as impressive. George, our waiter, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He made sure we had everything we needed and added to the overall great experience. If you're looking for delicious food and top-notch service, Africana is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend

I just ate at Afrikana, WOW the food was amazingg, the mac and cheese with pulled beef was like heaven, the halloumi fries 🤤🤤the food platter was fantastic, never tasted such succulent chicken! , we were served by Vivek and Nikki!!! Great hosts!

First visits was for my friends birthday dinner it was nice food was good so I came back again with my family for the second time the food was tasteless not cooked properly steak was hard and burnt, kids burger was plain no salad no nothing just bun with one dry ass chicken fillet there was 3 other tables that couldn’t even finish the food and left the food you should have seen the food wasted.when mentioned to staff about the food not cooked enough they did not listen and said that’s how it was supposed to be which is not staff was very dismissive to customers me and my family will not be visiting here again

I wish I could get my time and money back from this experience. This restaurant is what i imagine someone who went to Jamaica once and opened up a african restaurant. Nothing about this place is authentic african food when I seen the jollof rice I thought it was a joke and the taste god where in africa are they serving this jail ? Everything on that menu is a joke only nice thing was the chips and for an african place that's is crazy. And Lord the service u would think they were bringing the food from Africa but everyone got a different plane. If u dont want to eat african food, eat at different times and waste money then definitely come here it's what your looking for.

Fair and honest thoughts. Food was cooked well but could have been more flavoursome, although I liked that it wasn’t spicy. Overall average. Presentation is very nice, but tastier food would have been better appreciated. I did think it was overpriced, even for Manchester. £25 sirloin steak does not come with an accompanying sauce. For reference, my £14 dish that had just a several strips of lamb weirdly DID come with a sauce. I did expect more meat on my plate, but it was taken over by a huge cube of brioche bread, as shown in the photo. Service was very speedy though, I must say. Nice place and pleasant staff. I wouldn’t make a return trip based on this experience, so unfortunately I don’t recommend.

lots of variety along with a diverse new menu pulled lamb tacos were succulent and flavourful brioche french toast with fried chicken made and interesting combo overall would recommend

Although the food was not authentic African and Jamaican, it was really good. The food did not take long to arrive and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere within the restaurant was fine with music playing in the background, will definitely go back again.

The first time my family visited, we were pleasantly surprised. The food arrived quickly, and we agreed to return the following week to see if it was just a fluke. The next time, we requested a table upstairs, but our request was declined. Ten minutes later, we noticed other guests being seated upstairs. Our orders were forgotten, and we ended up at a cramped table. When we complained about the size of our table, the staff did not respond positively. I didn't eat, and we had to pack up the remaining food. We vowed never to return.

As a South African wanting spicy food, I highly recommend Afrikana, Sandeep the waiter provided exceptional service. The Food gave your taste buds a reminder of Africa (Home). Will definitely return to try more.

The chicken was very tender and well seasoned. Fast service, friendly staffs, and beautiful atmosphere inside. Loved the lamb chops too and rice. Definitely worth a visit if you’re passing by the Curry Mile! 👍

We attended a Nikah event upstairs st Afrikana. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with a lovely calm and relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food as it was different to other restaurants. The starters were lovely especially the chicken wings, houmou fried okra and haloumi, all of our favourites. The mains were exceptional especially the goat curry!! We all loved the cocktails, definitely want to try dome more off the menu The prayer rooms and toilets were spotless! Would like to thank the manager and especially Jenna who looked after us all effortlessly as well as the rest of the team. Thank you!!@

I was very disappointed, i’m a regular at afrikanas and thought i would try the roast dinner that has been going viral on tik tok however when it was served it did not look like how it did for the influencers it seems like they get special treatment as they are being paid to promote their business, my husband also got food poisoning from the mash potatoes that tasted very sour and just like milk, this has really put me off as their food is generally good, the only thing in the roast dinner that was good was the carrots

food was painfully average and terribly bland. workers looked like there’d rather be anywhere else. lamb chops tasted like rubber - had to send back since we were unable to bite them. chips tasted like they were fried before and reheated and the nacho chips tastes stale with the chicken on it being unseasoned and the cheese tasting fake. half chicken was lovely though!

Very good portion size quality and taste is nice we had very nice time time here and lameya is very kind and lovely she take good care of us.

Sorry to say. The whole experience was horrendous. My daughter had to wait 45min for a chicken burger. The staff weren't very clued up about what was being served. It was a birthday meal which was a big let down. I wouldn't recommend the place and i shan't be returning back.

It's definitely not authentic african food. However, the food is good and was served quickly. Staff were attentive. Price was fair.

The food was excellent tasted amazing but portion sizes were on the small side for us. Mocktail was disappointing. Staff were very friendly and facility was lovely and clean. We weren't issued our HDM card discount because the manager wasn't in and only he could issue the discount which was a further disappointment. I would only return if there were some offers as we didn't feel it was worth it due to the issues mentioned above.

Excellent service especially by monet

Went out with friends, enjoys the food perfectly cooked and I liked the taste of steak and king prawn bites. Staffs are very friendly except Manager who needs to learn how to smile, he looks very unhappy or maybe in under pressure. Thank you

Enjoyed a great dining experience with the family this weekend at the Manchester branch and that was down to Fahim who looked after us and was an excellent host. Wish more restaurant staff were like him.

Started of with no Ribs and Thighs in stock. So we didn’t get platter. Serves a lot of chicken but no chicken. So I ordered Half a chicken. So was served RAW chicken. Complained as stopped eaten. Was offered chicken again didn’t want it. Still charged for the chicken. I would never come here again. Same experience at Leicester Afrikaana. This is an absolute rip off of a restaurant. I would recommend everyone avoids Afrikaana. So disappointed that I was still charged for raw chicken. 🤣🤣🤣

I was served by Monét (I believe that is what her name was). All I can say is…. Wow! What a worker you have here. She really rocked the shop floor tonight. If this is how she usually is then you have a star on your hands. From behind the bar to serving the tables there wasn’t a place I didn’t see her and all tables were served on time. Great hospitality too. She got a couple of chuckles out of me. I really think you should keep this one around.

Monet served my table, she was excellent! she made us comfortable. The food came on time too, we(4 people) ordered the 'kicking in kenya' and 'we meat again' platter. Both were so filling and tasty! I highly recommend it here, all flavours on point and the service from Monet👌

Been to Afrikana London branch daltson and mile end and gave my reviews there. As expected still delicious food and a great restaurant 😋 Went with my wife while visit up north. Got the big platter that we shared and some sliders. (So much food we ended up taking a lot for takeaway. Wings were by far mine and wifes favourite, they've got an amazing flavour to it just loved it. Prawns was very crispy 👌 Chops was very tasty and pretty big pieces. Chicken was juicy and succulent (cooked perfectly) The steak had a nice flavour but a bit overcooked for my preference. The sliders were delicious too my favourite was the pulled beef one. Mojitos was very tasty and refreshing too. Staff was friendly, restaurant had nice decor and the bathrooms were clean. Overall a very good spot to visit. Always recommend this place 👌

Johns service was impeccable! The food was really good as well (I had the big poppa). My only criticism is that the drinks are pricy (which is expected Tbf) and the burger was too tall.

Every mocktail was delicious, but the passion fruit one was the best. Vivek, our hard-working server, allowed us to sample the sauces before placing our order. Contrary to expectations, the lamb from cheeky chop was significantly harder. You have to try their mac & cheese.

The food was amazing especially the JAmBHaLaYA. The service by Vivek was fantastic and can't fault anything. He gave exceptional service and had a smile always. Will definitely be back soon. Kids loved everything from the platter to the mocktails and they even though Vivek was awesome.
