Mangrove Indian Bistro & Grill in Mansfield

Really enjoyed our meal staff pleasant and friendly. Nice clean lovely atmosphere. Slight discrepancy on bill which we didn't notice which was annoying. But we would go again definitely.

Mangrove got us a table for 4 last minute as where we had booked had double booked us. Absolutely delicious food and the service was amazing. Friendly, polite and would definitely recommend.

As an Indian, I absolutely loved the food. I was finally able to find a place in Mansfield to eat some great quality Indian food. ☺️♥️

What a find. Didn't expect much of dining options in Mansfield, but this place was amazing. Food quality off the scale - probably the best Indian food I've ever had - and I'm an enthusiast. Not your regular curry house at all - more fine dining, Indian style. If I'd been in a big city, high-end restaurant and had this standard of food - at twice the price - id still have been happy. Truly exceptional. Nice venue & great service too. Well done guys.

I will never go to another Indian restaurant in my area! We go here atleast once every couple of months and never have a bad meal. It’s beautiful inside and the staff are incredibly friendly and really attentive to anything you need. The food is beautiful and you can ask for changes here in there in your meal. The naan breads are the best thing ever! This is a must go!!

I would never have known about this place if it hadn't been for Mansfield council sharing it on their page. It's tucked away on a side street surrounded by derelict buildings which might be off putting to some. Once inside though the restaurant is bright and spacious with a lovely high ceiling and mezzanine floor. The staff were polite. The place was empty apart from us and one more table although it was fairly early evening on a Sunday. The place did lack atmosphere. Maybe because it was empty but there just seemed to be something missing. There was a candle on the table but they didn't light it, despite the nice decor it just felt like it needed something . An interesting selection of starters, some I had not heard of before so that was good. The paneer I had was well spiced. The mains were a little disappointing though. My husband asked for his madras hot but it was lacking in flavour. Mine was spicy but it lacked the sweetness mixed with the tang I would normally expect from that particular dish, there was no real depth of flavour. I had prawns which were quite sparse and a bit chewy. Nice place but the food didn't blow me away and more expensive than some other local Indian restaurants.

What a surprise - the best Indian food I have eaten in the UK in years. Everything in the reviews was all true. I chose the Thali option of four side dishes and what a great combination. I could not have been happier with the deliciously tasty and subtle flavours of mushroom bhaji, saag paneer and aloo gobi. I loved it all down to the last morsel. Highly recommended!!

We get a takeaway from the Mangrove most weeks. It's far and away the best indian food in Mansfield. We've booked meals here for work nights out and for family occasions and have always had fantastic service. The waiters are always very welcoming and helpful. Even when the restaurant is busy we've never waited too long for food. Highly recommended!

I never leave reviews but felt compelled to leave one for this place! Been let down countless times by Indian restaurants due to poor quality food but I’ve got to say this is the best we have had for a very long time! Collected the food to eat at home and was well worth the drive. Inside the restaurant looked very modern and clean too so we will try and eat in at some point. I have been coming here for years and i have never been disappointed. The food, service and staff are excellent. There is always a good atmosphere and the restaurant is always exceptionally clean.

Not been to the Mangrove for sometime but popadoms, pickles, starters, main was perfect like i remembered. Didnt get the hand wipes... doh. Check your bill to check youve had items on it... other than that, i would recommend.

A quiet night (Wednesday) but our meal was very pleasant

4 of us went for a meal last night, from the moment we walked in the service was excellent and continued throughout our meal, the quality of the food was incredible, we even asked for something that wasn't on the menu and got it. Top quality Indian food and really knowledgeable staff who are helpful and can guide you through the menu. The Lababdar and Hydrabadi curries are particularly good.

The staff fitted us in lat minute and are very friendly. Good selection of food and drink. Everything I tried was super tasty

We atyended for a special fund raising evening for our charity. So a big thank you for that first. Service was a bit slow but only 3 staff in altogether. 2 cooking 1 bar staff and there was approximstely 50 of us.

Just had a mixed grill balti and must say it’s the best Indian food in Mansfield. The lamb is so “melt in your mouth” and not at all tough like most of the restaurants around. Well done mangrove - you’re my firm favourite again !!!!!

Food tasteless, no meat in dish. Asked for prawn and got chopped frozen prawn pieces. Food was the worst I've experienced in Mansfield. Think I'll stick with Modu Mitu. Hygiene rating also suspect, several issues with the place and management don't seem to care about quality or hygiene. It's fair to say I won't return again.

Expensive and noisy. Food and drink over priced. Especially drinks. They wouldn't talk to a really loud drunk group next to us.

Well what can I say Friday night 9 o'clock complete empty restaurant and I understand why, staff don't care didn't ask once how our meal with as ,, chutneys watered down to cold curry source bad quality mix grill probably the worsted Curry I have ever had and definitely the worsted staff. Taste wise the food was quite good, but the amount of meat was disappointing. In a £10 lamb dish i had 4 small pieces of lamb, seriously? Cheaters, thats all i can say. Not coming back to pay a lot and end up feeling hungry..

We ordered takeaway from here a while ago and have been meaning to come back and dine in because the food was outstanding. Today we finally returned and once again were happy with the food, the atmosphere and the service. We had the Mixed Grill Balti and the Peppered Lamb Balti and the meat in each was both delicious and tender. We've never had lamb as good as we've had it from here, though our only criticism is that there should have been more potato in the Peppered Lamb Balti (there was only one piece). The service was attentive, warm and friendly. We can't wait to return here again and bring our friends.

I ordered a sea food biriyani and to say its sea food it was absalutely tasteless and the sea food does not taste fresh at all , really disappointed. other than that though I had a super time and customer service / hygiene was great.

Decided to eat here based on people’s recommendations and to say the least my friends and I have found the experience very disappointing. The staff looked like they were doing a seven year stint for armed robbery without a smile in sight. Poor to no service seemed to be the norm, with most staff stood at the bar like Humpty Dumpty. I’m not sure if it’s standard practice but most people ended up visiting the bar to get additional drinks where I found it difficult to grasp their attention by signalling S.O.S from the lamp 💡 situated in the corner. Food poor with mostly akin to microwave meals found on isle 12 in Asda, mostly soup, sorry sauce with the occasional chunk of what I think was meat. Sat waiting for the bill but I expect to have my belt loosened. My advice skip this joint and move on 😀

Food and staff excellent as always

The tastiest meal we’ve eaten in a long time. We visited as a family group of 6 with 2 vegetarians. Everyone really enjoyed their food including the seafood sharing platter, lamb jalfrezi, paneer shashlick. Great service too. Absolutely faultless.
