Really lovely evening spent in Mango's in Portswood with friends. Food delicious Tapas and good atmosphere. Best of all though, was the brilliant service given by Lewis. Big shout out, he couldn't have done more to provide top notch service. A true asset to their team.

Really nice vibes and aesthetic in the restaurant, food and cocktails were delicious, and there were great veggie/vegan options! Our server, Will, was super polite and lovely as well!

Staff (Fran and Lewis) were really lovely and helpful even with sickness in the team! Food was delicious, portion sizes very good and price reasonable.

The food completely lacked Thai vibe (no Thai basil or lemon grass), just sweet coconut milk, or too much soya sauce. I remember eating there before and the flavours were mind blowing. It used to be a real Thai food experience; shame that it is not any more. Cocktails were super expensive. Service was very good. I will not be back.

A really lovely evening celebrating a birthday. It was the best Thai food that we have enjoyed since being in Thailand, the only problem was trying to choose from the delicious menu. My Pad Thai was heavenly and my husband loved his curry. Fran was exceptionally friendly and helpful, even finding us a table downstairs as my disabled husband couldn't manage the stairs to our reserved table. Thank you for our birthday surprise, it made it the perfect evening. This was our first visit and certainly won't be our last!

Had a really lovely meal, food was delicious and staff friendly and accommodating. Only slight issue was parking, however not a massive problem as hubby dropped us off and he ventured to find a space. Thanks Fran and Will, we will definitely come back.

Another amazing experience at Mango Portswood last Saturday 4th! I’ve been here several times now, and you’ve never failed to disappoint! The food is absolutely incredible and the most authentic and fresh Thai cuisine I’ve ever had (I’d highly recommend the chicken panang with sticky rice!), which is an achievement considering how many restaurants I’ve tried. The service is very friendly and prompt, and for our meal on the 4th I actually brought my Meetup group along. There were 11 of us in the end, but we had booked as 2 groups of 6 and they had no problem sticking us in our own little room once they found out we knew each other! And wow, that room!! It was just incredible. The interior of the whole place is incredible. Thank you, Mango Portswood!

Unacceptable wait for food. We set down at 7.15pm and the place was not full. The starter did not arrive by 8pm, and the main arrived at 8.30pm.

Visited for a couple drinks nice friendly atmosphere with friendly staff can’t knock anything here clean and well presented would of love to of eaten but had all ready done so

Excellent food, excellent service and excellent value. We went as a small group of friends on a Monday night and there was a 'curry club' offer. We had this plus some tapas and nothing could be faulted. We were running late due to the lack of available parking (street parking) and this was no issue. There was no pressure to leave and was a cosy and comfortable atmosphere

Excelente comida, excelente servicio y excelente relación calidad-precio. Fuimos como un pequeño grupo de amigos un lunes por la noche y había una oferta de 'club de curry'. Tuvimos esto más algunas tapas y nada podía faltar. Estábamos llegando tarde debido a la falta de aparcamiento disponible (estacionamiento en la calle) y esto no fue ningún problema. No había presión para salir y era un ambiente acogedor y cómodo

I visited with my family for my daughters birthday and was served by Tasha who was great! lovely young lady very accommodating and the food was delicious! We had a mix of tapas and the monday club curry deal, which was recommended by our server and was a brilliant choice! Thank you we will most definitely be back :))

Had an excellent experience at Mango Portswood. The food was delicious and the service was brilliant. Wife is vegetarian and had plenty of choices in the menu. The fella serving was not intrusive, but never the less wanted to make sure that we were happy. Would def' visit here again if our travels bring us down to Southampton. Thanks to all concerned.

Great Thai food, good to try lots of tapas. Recommend about 3 per person. Fresh flavours and chilli kick. The chicken wings were lovely with a Skips crisp like chilli powder sprinkle on top.

Hemos estado en Mango’s muchas veces antes aunque era antes de covid y nos encantó abd tenía muchas buenas comidas aquí. Esta vez fuimos con amigos esperando que fuera como fue pero desafortunadamente no fue así. El restaurante no tenía calefacción y hacía frío. Los entrantes estaban tibios y yo diría que no recién cocinados y habían estado dando vueltas durante algún tiempo antes de servir. Los platos principales no eran grandes. 3 de nosotros teníamos Pad Thai que estaba seco y difícil de comer con un par de gambas. Realmente decepcionante. La cerveza embotellada tailandesa era mucho más de £ 5 la botella y no bebimos mucho y tuvimos 2 cócteles y la factura llegó a £ 174. La parte inferior del vaso se cayó y la cerveza recorrió toda la ropa de nuestros amigos y no parecía que se molestaran en ayudar a ser honesto solo puedo pensar que ha cambiado de manos ahora. No pensé en tomar fotos en la noche

Wow wow wow. I was thoroughly impressed with the food here. I was skeptical about eating this type of cuisine as I am not a fan of fish and I always thought that the flavour would be over powering from the fish oils etc. But I am soooo glad that I was convinced to give this place a try. From the really cool decor, to the friendly waiters/waitresses but most importantly the amazing food. Every mouthful was a taste sensation. Perfectly balanced flavours and very nicely presented on the plates My compliments to the chefs. I will definitely be back again. We all enjoyed the meal so much

We happened upon this in a Tripadvisor rabbit hole and loved every second. The atmosphere was great, the food is even better. We can thoroughly recommend the Tapas, especially the Thai green curry rice balls. The service was friendly and it’s worth every penny. It’s definitely a place we would visit again if we lived closer.

Hard to fault Mango. Excellent service and the food was so genuinely Thai. Fresh and very tasty, hot 🔥 but not too hot just zingy. Atmosphere quite intimate towards the back. Fab evening and not too expensive (£15 curry night including a drink).

I hired Mango for my 40th birthday party and they did not disappoint. I have eaten at all their venues and have always had a brilliant experience with very tasty food and cocktails. It was a no brainier to hire it for my party. Tam and her staff were brilliant. They helped me organise the evening and suggested a few things to make it all the more amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone at the party commented on how lovely the space was, how delicious the food was (in its abundance) and how great the staff were. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone using this venue for a party or just a cheeky dinner out. Thank you for making my big birthday special!

Lovely food, good portion size & freshly cooked! . From the outside it's on the busy main road and you might think ohh not so sure but really lovely food, freshly cooked, we had the tapas which for tapas was a big portion, they even created a dish that was not even on the menu, amazing service, if you go out the back it has a more Thai feel dark wood and lighting giving it a more authentic Asian feel. Would definitely love to visit again

I come here regularly with friends and the food is always superb, nice atmosphere, great service and so many tasty things on the menu! Personal favourites are the crispy beef tapas, the cauliflower (unexpected I have to admit!) and chicken pad Thai! Highly recommend ☺️

First visit and most certainly won’t be the last. We were visiting family for the weekend and decided to try here. Lovely restaurant. My son had the Thai green curry and said it was delicious and the rest of us had 4 tapas dishes each. Just choosing those dishes was a struggle as so much tasty choice. Every dish was delicious, could not fault a thing, we left absolutely stuffed. Highly recommend and when we are next visiting, we will be popping in again.

The place is effortlessly cool. They aren’t trying to be anything, they just are - the vibe with a house DJ and live music is very Cafe Mambo, relaxing and fun. Food is incredible and drinks are fresh ! A definite visit when in Southampton.

My partner and I had one of our first dates here. It was fantastic! Since then we have been back multiple times at different times of the day and been served by different people each time. Every one of them has been incredible. Brilliant service every time, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is very good. We recommend highly.

Very lovely stunning flavours. My favourite Thai restaurant in Southampton. The food was so good and I was so hungry there are no photos. A lovely change was Thai fries in pad Thai sauce with spring onions nuts and coriander- delicious

Visited twice this month, very pricy served with ridiculously small plates, not authentic at all, thought the Tom Yum Soup was great till my Thai friend made one yesterday😂all drinks and food ain’t too bad but nothing impressive

I have been visiting Mango quite frequently, more times the one in town; but the food here is much better and tastier. The place is not cheap but worthy as the food is really nice and the staff is very friendly

This charming little place on the corner is wonderful for an intimate meal with friends or loved ones. There are two small dining areas, one in front and one out the back. Service is second to none. Staff are friendly, attentive and grateful for the custom. But what they really really excel in is the food. It was phenomenal. We had crispy squid, chicken phad tai, battered king prawns, a cauliflower side and chicken stay. We even had dessert, Custard Tart and Ice Cream and a Chocolate Brownie. Both with vegan ice cream. We ate this all last night and I can't stop thinking about it. This is my new favourite restaurant.

Great spot for vegetarians and vegans. My parent are very fussy with food and they absolutely loved both the tapas and the Thai curries we had.

Always great food. Just a shame the price has gone up so much since last time we come. It has put us off going any time soon. Was quiet for a Friday night, I’m guessing most can’t afford a night out much these days. Even the starters you either choose 5 pieces or 3 pieces (corn cakes and chicken satay) whereas it was not an option before as you got 5 pieces for around £5.50-£6. Now that price will only get you 3 pieces. And 5 pieces around £8.50! It’s always amazing tasting food but it’s a shame as the cost of living doesn’t allow nights out as much and with restaurant prices going up too it puts you off more.

If you love Thai food then this is the place to go. We were a group of six and devided to have Thai tapas so we could try a bit of everything and it didn't disappoint. The service was great too from Erin & Euan.

Lovely place, great food, nice atmosphere, relaxed. My only criticism would be waiting time for drinks & food although it was a Saturday night & there were two large tables of dinners upstairs. Did state it was my husbands birthday on the booking but no mention 🥲

They have removed the coconut chicken from the menu :-( Very nice food and atmosphere. Great crispy beef and outstanding prawn toast! Please bring back the crispy coconut chicken!

Very good lunch offer My friend and I met for lunch and both chose the £15 1 x glass of wine, curry & rice. The staff were very welcoming, the lunch choices for the set menu were good. We both had the chicken Panang curry & rice. It was presented well, hot and the flavours were melt in your mouth. Compliments to the chef! Will be back to visit soon.

We have waited 2h for a delivery, and then it was cancelled with no explanation! We could see that the driver has been waiting for our food, but nothing arrived for 2 hours, whereas the expected delivery time when ordering was 0.5h

We regularly dine at Mango and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Last Saturday however we were very disappointed with our service. In short we paid our bill of £272 without really checking (no glasses/dim light/hurrying to settle up) The next day we noted that we had received the bill for the table behind us of fruit alcohol punches and such like and had been billed for the entirely wrong order which we had paid without quibbling. This mistake was refunded over the phone but my advice to any diners CHECK YOUR BILL before departing. A bad mix up but was refunded without any issue but won't be returning

A fav haunt of mine, but PLEASE PLEASE get that door fixed. Several of your patrons kept having to get up to fully close the door that was leaving a freezing draft in with tables v close to the door. Servers only did once or twice.

Came on a visit from Brighton as we were going to The Attic Comedy Club. Lovely little restaurant. Food was lovely! Guy serving us lovely and helped us order and try a new wine. I find sometimes Thai can leave you feeling a bit urghhh but not here!

Red Thai at Night cocktail is sweet and moreish. The bang bang cauliflower is lightly spicy and the curries are creamy. Yummm! Definitely returning.

Returned recently after having not been to the restaurant for a couple of years. Lovely food as ever and the staff were nice, however service seemed to drop a bit after a larger booking upstairs turned up and the staff disappeared for a while to sort out this group, meaning that meant diners downstairs were left waiting for a while. We were waiting for nearly 45 minutes to pay for our meal and approx. 30 minutes of this was us trying to flag a member of staff for the bill (with our empty plates still on the table waiting to be collected). Normally wouldn't mind waiting around for a little bit as the place is nice, but we'd finished our food and drinks and were ready to leave. A little disappointing despite the great food and makes me think twice about coming back soon.

I love the decor here it’s a really quirky aesthetic! Lots of character. Yummy small plates, I found the pork dish a little too salty. They offered prawn crackers whilst we waited for food and drinks, I do think a small bowl of these should be free, it would be a nice touch. We were seated at the back so waited a little longer than I would’ve wanted for service but when it came it was with a smile 😊 Would go back, would love to try some more dishes on the menu!

Really great red curry with chicken! Just like in Thailand. Amazing flavors with perfectly spiced heat level. I’m from out of the country and not used to the tip process for service. Someone told me it’s already added to the bill but when I looked at my receipt the service was not added. My apologies to the great staff. I will be back and to eat again and make sure I add for service double next time.

Really nice little Thai restaurant in Portswood, Southampton. It feels very cosy, particularly with the tables at the back and upstairs. Great atmosphere and great service. Would recommend the yellow egg noodles (pad see ew).
