Was really busy but that's what we like the atmosphere was amazing the staff were incredible (shout out to Charlene). The beer was amazing and fresh and just £2.50 incredible happy hour. If your around head to yates you won't be disappointed

Yates have really upped their game. Haven't been here for a while. The staff are so much more happier and welcoming. The deals are so good especially the happy hour and bottomless brunch. Huge shout out to Charlene who served us during out bottomless brunch. Thank you. Highly recommend

Went to yates over the weekend and it was amazing the atmosphere was incredible. Charlene served us and she was so welcoming and amazing. The food was delicious and a great prices. The range of beer was also amazing and the prices £2.50 for a moretti on happy hour will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend

Came here last night, reasonable priced drinks and lots to choose from, music and atmosphere was brilliant, staff were friendly and helpful especially Charlie, cant wait to come back next weekend 💃🏻

Staff were lovely, helpful and attentive. Food was pretty dissapointing for the price paid. I had a chicken burger. The Lettuce was slimey and the burger itself very plain and boring. Chips were OK. My friend ordered a drink with her food and wasn't brought to us, to only be told when went up to the bar to ask where it was, that they don't get the orders for the drinks and must be ordered at the bar?! My friends food looked nice and said she enjoyed it. Had drinks that were very sour tasting (not in a good way) and from a pre-mix charged under a cocktail (£12-£13), 2-4-1. Would go again but probably order different food and drinks.

Staff were friendly enough and efficient considering how many people were in, but I paid for 3 rounds of the same drinks and each time I paid, they got more expensive. Staff couldn't give me a reason.

Music WAY too loud - couldn't talk! Clean the stairs, they are disgusting. If I'd noticed on the way up, I wouldn't have ordered food.

Came in on Sunday ordered meals and drinks. They forgot my burger and chips waited 40 minutes for 2 cokes my daughter and my friends had their meals. I had to wait a further 30 mins for mine. The head of bar was very ignorant and the service was so bad. There was a guy that had just come on shift around 2.30 who collected our plates and he was very nice got more conversation from him very bad service

Came in on Tuesday evening to watch the football with my other half and a girl behind the bar who I think she said her name was Bonnie was extremely bubbly and chatty and made us feel very welcome along with the young man who was also behind the bar . Not been in before but will certainly be back and not just because hubbies team won .

Seeing as I was emailed to ask for my rating.... I had to cancel our Xmas party due to illness and I asked to rebook but they took my deposit and said I'd have to pay another deposit to rebook. At no time was I told this was a non refundable deposit. I was told I'd get a call back regarding this but no one has called. I will not be re-booking for this, or any other occasion in the future. Poor customer service.

What a place I usually pop in when visiting Southampton but I certainly hope someone has cleaned the place since my visit in late October, the carpet needs to be cleaned!! You've heard the saying sticky carpet? Well if someone got a shampooer over this place they could probably resell it to the punters at the next Southampton home game. Food was normal fare well priced and drinks were cheap with great service. Oh nearly forgot clean the seats and furniture as well the seats my friends and family were going to sit in by the window on enterring to your right stank of urine! Yes this really was the straw that broke the camels back. We had already ordered food and luckily we spotted the contaminated seat and moved upstairs to eat. Please please get the place cleaned.

It's a Yates. Friday night and popped in for a drink while walking past. Not many in there. Music was dance tunes (no DJ). Good selection of drinks, good prices. Friendly staff and doormen. It is what it is for a Yates.

Music (noise) FAR too loud! Food was OK, service was very prompt and friendly. Place was a little bit sticky but otherwise fine. Drinks were 2005 prices!

Food was basic portions were small. Steak was tough and chewy. Pizza was overcooked, but I like it like that. I had the spicy chicken. Plenty of Sirrachie sauce and loads of Jalapeños. No cask ale. Decor tired and looks dirty.

Don’t eat here ! The atmosphere is nice for a drink however we popped in for lunch and got a pizza each. The pizzas were like cardboard and one of them was still cold in the middle. It was alright value for money but definitely wouldn’t eat here again

It is unfortunate to have to rate this experience so low. My wife and I neither had the time nor the patience to be "those people" to complain about the cafeteria food that was served: Peas were undercooked. Steak was not served as ordered as it was over cooked and didn't feature the Diane sauce as ordered. My wife's "Steak and Ale Pie" was a dreadfully dry disappointment. I'm fairly certain a desert has more moisture than the main course; however, there was a redeeming boat of gravy that was able to saturate both of our plates and distract us from the rather dismal excuse for cooking that was provided. Not much else redeems this establishment, for the cocktails were weak if not completely misadvertised as being cocktails when they should've been advertised as mocktails. My recommendation for readers here is to try this rather normal establishment at the risk of being disappointed.

Great beer great price just when i needed it

I attended this pub today for a lunch with my friends for my birthday.. my friend ordered cheesy garlic bread as a side but it came with no cheese so she went to speak to the manager that was on shift and his reply was your have to pay extra or get out!! He then gave her a refund and told her to get out. We was stood outside and he’s come out and shouted oh your eating now and through her change at her and my 2 year old child which she then had to pick it up off the floor!! My other friend then asked for his name as we wanted to make a formal complaint and he told her to also get out. This man was absolutely disgusting towards us and was abbusive to women would have been different if we were men. I wouldn’t waste your time going there if he is on shift! As a manager you would want your customers to be happy right? Instead we got verbally abused!! Reply to Charlie who’s writing back!!!! This wasn’t the case at all two of my friends approached the bar separately and you got abusive and told them to leave because of an issue with garlic bread! If you actually take pride in your job as a manager would you not just replace it and apologise? Instead you tried to make her pay extra for something she’s already purchase!! One of my friends asked you for your name and you barred her… We’re wait to see what the cctv reveals once head office has reviewed what has happened and your vile abuse towards women!! writing back to comments to try and make yourself better how many pubs have you actually been through I wonder why? I’ve never experienced a pub like it. I come out with my friends for a lunch and my 2 year old child!! No abuse was given until you said oh your eating then and through money whilst my child was with her £1 coins must I add!! Some of us left at our own accord not you asking us to leave. You then approached the same lady for the second time when there wasn’t any need? Stop trying to make yourself look good on google reviews!!

Had a AMAZING time at Yates with my friends was served by Jack who was very quick and nice to talk to.

What a place! Literally does it all sports, pool, good deals and just a chill vibe. Would highly recommend for a good time.

Was out for family meal of 4 1 meal wasn't delivered to table after repeated saying 4 meals when ordering was told one was on way and dint arrive I had a bit of Plastic in my curry staff basically didn't care we were on limited time as going to the theater so one didn't get a meal and the staff basically shrugged and said what do you want me to do about it it was the attitude and disregard of an apology wouldn't go there again left disappointed and annoyed as it was ment to be a treat and a night out we did leave enough time before comment it was a long wait to start with

A nice place to eat around lunchtime, good value food, but get there early if you want the chip shop platter, when I got there at around 4pm they had run out of fish, I got the all day breakfast and it was tasty, but there was a few items missing from it if it was a proper cooked breakfast, but it was tasty and was plenty for me on the day!

Atmosphere great while the football was showing Drinks served in a timely manner. Staff were not interactive. No acknowledgement when clearing and replacing menus on tables

We were the first to step inside the bar around 11 and it started filling up later . A really nice place to hang out. I'm sure it get's a lot busier later hours

What a great evening, one of our group had a little to much to drink but the inside doorman Matt I think his name was. Helped my friend outside where Scott again think his name was stayed with my friend whilst we got our stuff. They were very polite and understanding and the drinks are priced fairly all staff were great but dj could maybe find some music from this decade.

Chinese roasted meat section is brilliant and well cooked. Dimsum selection is not bad but like some dimsum restaurants arround the area, some items become limited availability later on the day, like the egg tarts.

Popped in here on a rare Saturday night out with the husband. It was like stepping back in time! The place hasn't changed at all since the last time I was in there (around 15 yrs!) The music took me back and the people were friendly, everyone just having a good time. Staff were polite and the drinks were reasonable! Would pop in again for a few drinks and have a boogie!
