Visited noon on Friday 18/10/24. Surprisingly busy and noisy. Have used this establishment since it started 20+ years ago. The welcome and service in the restaurant was warm and friendly, the service despite the obvious pressure was professional, the food was, as always, excellent, the price quite fair. The only negative was the door through to the new covered area and garden, used continually by serving and kitchen staff. Thus meant a strong and cold draft consistently invading the inner seating area. A swing door needs installing.

Wow what a fantastic delicatessen. Superb selection of pastries, cheeses, cakes, olives with a lovely cafe in the back of the shop. We had garlic, mushroom & bacon quiche & cheese scones. We also had lovely smoothies. Highly recommend.

Food was nice. Will go again. Very very busy but it's a tourist town so fair enough.

Wonderful selection in the deli counter. We bought lots of cheese and they were all delicious, obviously more expensive than the supermarket but you get what you pay for and we dont mind paying for quality. The cafe area was busy so we weren't lucky enough to get a table but we are going back to try again, the food smelled amazing 😍

Lovely garden area, nice looking deli selection in the window but don’t be fooled you can’t actually eat that inside. Wait was too long service was poor food was decent enough but would not go back

We popped in here for a coffee and ended up having cream teas for 6 people. The scones were so tasty and served warm. The Tea is made with loose tea, and you get quite a few cups out of the pot. Please also buy something from the delicatessen on the way out, although choosing what to buy may he hard

awful !! we waited 25 mins for food only to have a waitress ask us if we were still waiting for food - she then came back to tell us - sorry but our order hadn't gone through ! dreadful service we left without food and still were asked to pay for our over priced drinks no apology we then heard from another person in the town that they had experienced the same thing very bad !!!

This a strange place. The cheese counter is excellent with a good range of local cheeses. Unfortunately the cafe part is not well run. Over the past 10 years I’ve been going here I’ve noticed that it is not well managed. It’s clear that the staff do not work as a team. Sometimes I go on my own and wait ages to be served( it’s table service), even though they have several waitresses/ waiters hovering around. Sometimes the service is prompt. This week I walked in to the crowded cafe and asked the waiter if they had any gluten free cakes, before I sat down. He said ‘ I don’t know, you’ll have to ask at the front, at the deli. There was a long queue at the deli counter so I was reluctant to do that. I asked if he could find out and he just repeated that he didn’t know! The staff aren’t trained well, and this time I just walked out. A pity as the coffee is good, but as I have coeliac condition and was hungry, it wasn’t worth staying and wasting my time. I’ll be going to one of the other excellent coffee shops in Kingsbridge in future!

Paid £3.50 for sourdough toast. Got cold granary. A manager in with his partner moaning about staff not writing hours down. Waiter rude when I questioned the bread. I've eaten here a few times and always found the food to be considerably overpriced.

Lovely place, kind of hidden outdoorsy bit where we sat and had coffee and breakfast. Friendly, quick service and really good food. Thank you! Good for dogs too :D

Tried to dine in but not actually serving food today just panini and sandwiches. Took 40 minutes to tell us this. Manager not on duty and you can really tell.

Absolutely gorgeous breakfast.. the quality & the cooking of the ingredients were spot on. Staff really lovely & friendly. Enjoyed the outside eating area. Chai latte one of the best I’ve had.

Having been loyal holiday goers in Devon for over 20 years, my family and I were stunned to find Mange Tout, a deli that we had never visited or even known was a cafe rather than just a deli. However we were not disappointed with our visit, the food is absolutely beautiful and the outside area makes for a lovely eating atmosphere in the summer. The service is great and the food is always served quickly even when they are busy. Would 100% recommend.

Very practical for a short meal stop. Service very nice. Food OK. You can sit both inside and outside in a small courtyard. Unfortunately, breakfast is only available until half past twelve.

Went for lunch on recommendation Ordered the warm Moroccan chickpea salad .i think there must have been at least a can of chickpeas and not much else .no pomegranate seeds as described We also ordered the fish coupons which my partner said was very nice Pleasant staff ,nice vibe

Really nice breakfast brioche bun … sausages were perfect but fried eggs were overcooked and no runny egg yoke (it was white and overcooked). Service was excellent and they are dog friendly. The coffee was nice but a little watery for out liking. The deli is fabulous … local produce as well as some from further afield. We will definitely visit again.

Pop into Mangetout quite frequently. Always a great visit. Food superb, service excellent as we now come to expect 👌

Breakfast was great, really enjoyed. High quality ingredients & well cooked. Thanks. Wraps at lunchtime were reasonable at best, lacking on filling, flavour, depth or complexity. Not great value for £12. Expected so much more. Disappointed.

What a great little find. Popped in on the off chance they could fit us in for a late lunch. It was very busy and we were told there may be a little wait but this was no issue. Staff were super friendly and helpful, great customer service. Food was lovely, reasonably priced for a tourist area. Lovely experience!

Whilst on holiday, my partner had taken our children swimming and I took the dog for a walk in search of a nice cafe to sit in and enjoy a coffee with my new book. At the top of the very steep hill of the main shopping street in Kingsbridge, I found a cafe with a sign in the window saying there was a courtyard at the back which appealed as I assumed our dog would be allowed. The food displayed in the window looked delicious too but I was only stopping for a coffee (or that was the plan). I walked through the cafe and took a table in the pretty (and larger than I had expected) courtyard. My order was taken quickly by an extremely friendly South African man and I couldn’t help but order a little treat for myself too. As I was alone, I was perhaps more observant than usual and noticed the delicious food being delivered to nearby tables and the generous portions - especially of the sweet treats (my own included). The man who had served me was busy but seemed very happy in his role as he made time to talk to each table, creating a friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere. After some shopping along the high street and meeting the rest of the family, who were hungry after their swim, we returned to the same cafe for lunch. As we don’t know the area, it seemed like a sensible, safe and quick option. All of the tables in the courtyard were now occupied so we went to sit inside. The menu offered many delicious options of breakfast, brunch and sandwiches. Quiches and pastries were displayed in the window and looked equally delicious. Inside, we had a different man take our order and he too was friendly and extremely accommodating when our 2 children (aged 7 and 4) requested sandwiches which weren’t on the menu. A great little find and one I’d return to again and again, although maybe not twice on the same day again ☺️.

Went looking for brunch. We were ignored and then spoken to rudely when we asked for a table. Will not be returning. Very disappointed as last year we enjoyed our visit.

Very expensive for what you receive. They are surely making a killing on the profits. £10 for a toasted sandwich, a couple of chips and a few salad leaves. Felt ripped off though the toasty did taste good. Place was full so locals don’t seem to care but if travelling and visiting be aware it’ll cost you for not a lot of food.

It was very busy at 11am on a Saturday. The kitchen was too busy with breakfasts so no more food orders were being taken. This was explained to us when we finally got a table. The coffee was great but would have liked to been able to order food from the full menu. Maybe next time. It was pricey but everywhere seems to be these days.

Had a couple of lunches here whilst on holiday, a lovely find on the high street. Deli sandwiches were fresh and delicious, the chicken gyros wrap was very dry though. Staff very pleasant and efficient. 2023 not changed, lovelt food 😁

Enjoyed an excellent lunch. The soup was tasty as was the sourdough toastie. Pleasant courtyard at the rear which was covered in places.

Never fails to deliver top quality food…..whether it’s a takeaway sandwich or a sit down lunch the standards are always the highest and the staff are always super friendly and helpful…..I must of eaten hundreds of their sandwiches and never had cause to complain……

First time visit for us...saw the menu, knew this was the place for us- I had the all day breakfast, while my wife had sourdough, avocado and feta open toastie...all very delicious and to top that off... a decent Barista Coffee. Top-notch, Well done guys, keep the good work up 👍🏼

We stopped in for breakfast this morning and the coffee is amazing. I had a bacon, cheese and chive scone, it was fabulous. My husband had the flapjack and not only was it twice the size we expected but it was also fabulous. Did we mention the coffee??? Being from Melbourne Australia we are known for being coffee lovers and we loved their coffee. The staff are all lovely too.

If it wasn’t for spotting the advert on the edge of the Fore Street Car Park we would have missed this lovely cafe / restaurant. Tasty food and friendly service. Definitely recommended.

We were looking for somewhere to have a coffee and snack and really enjoyed delicious cheese, bacon & chive scones and nice hot coffee. There was no fuss about warming up the scones either, which you sometimes get these days! We had some ‘banter’ with the owner, Chris who was very cheerful and obliging. There is plenty of seating which isn’t obvious when you first walk in, so if it’s sunny keep on walking until you find the lovely outdoor area. Would like to return for a proper meal as it all looked good.

Friendly efficient service. Lovely space to the rear of the cafe. The bacon, cheese and chive scones are gorgeous, coffee hot.

A wonderful find. Wandering through Kingsbridge on a Sunday - a great place to find. Lovely food, good portions, well presented- lovely staff. Much bigger than it looks from the road!! Well worth finding!!!

We both had the full English breakfast here - one of the best around, plus it came with a round of sourdough toast.

Called in at 1pm, found a table, then after sitting for 15 minutes, a waitress came to take an order although we had yet to see a menu. She then gave us a menu and went on her merry way. Meals and drinks chosen (£37.00), we sat and waited and waited. Two members of staff nearby were happily chatting to each other, the previous waitress walked straight past us twice then promptly got her phone out and spent 10 minutes on that. After approx 20 minutes we gave up and went elsewhere. They clearly didnt want the custom.

We had a nice breakfast and coffee in here. It was busy but managed to find a table. Staff were very friendly, it’s also a delicatessen. we’ve also been to the one on Totnes which was more spacious.

Ordered at 10.10. Left at 10.40. Still no food. Wasted half a morning. Not the place to go if you expect even reasonable service.

Service was a bit slow yesterday, didn't like the dressing on the salad but the Sandwiches and Chips are always awesome. Pleasant staff, reasonable prices. Coffee was good but again couldn't get Coconut Milk 🤔

What an excellent find. We were tempted in by the scones in the window. We had a bacon, cheese, chive scone and chicken sandwich with curry mayo. All very tasty and nicely presented. We left with a quiche for the next day. Lovely loose leaf...

We visited for lunch and the food was amazing. The menu had a really good selection, with lots to choose from. All the staff were very welcoming and our little boy loved it too! Can’t wait to come back!

Great atmosphere, friendly Staff, & amazing food. Had the Reuben panini, & my partner had The Rosti Stack. Theirs an outside Garden with Sheltered seating & accommodates well between the tables. Extremely good value and have eaten their on plenty of occasions. Also lovely Pasties, Quiches, and Coffee.

Wonderful selection of food to buy and take home. The staff where very friendly and accommodating of a weary traveller waiting to catch a bus. I asked for a large tea which for the quantity I thought was reasonably priced.

Visited mangetout on a local recommendation and wasn't disappointed, the rosti Stack is something to die for. Fresh smoked salmon topped with a light hollandaise sauce and fluffy rosti is the perfect combination.
