I just had a delivery had two brown stewed chicken as a meal it was wet hardly ang flavour mainly all bone wasn't hot it was a meal only one drink came with I wouldn't recommend

Day 1 - No porridge (12:30/1pm) come tomorrow. Day 2 - 12pm - oh I didn’t have any milk this morning so didn’t have any made. Come tomorrow and we’ll make some. Day 3 - 11:15 (Doors shut no one there) opening time 10am-10pm. Terrible service -complete waste of time. won’t be going back again. Food is ok but not the best.

The food was the worst in bristol and disgusting. The rice and peas was nasty and the jerk chicken was nasty. Won't be getting my money again so enjoy it

The plantain is always dry but the rest of the food always beautiful

The food here is amazing, I usually go for the jerk chicken as it is my favourite along with the rice and peas, with plantain and dumplings. Food is cooked well and taste great. Service was great, food was hot and will definitely recommend.

I got married a year ago and I wanted some evening bbq food for my guests. I reached out to the owner through my sister to see if they could provide this catering service and they agreed! They were really organised leading up to the day and had everything well planned out. They arrived ON TIME and set up in good time. I had a lot of vendors that stressed me out for the wedding and they were NOT one of them. The jerk chicken was sooo good. Right level of spice and charcoal flavour. Really happy. I would use them for another event for sure

As it was my first time eating here I decided to go for the jerk chicken as I had heard it was really good. I ordered a small as I’m not a big eater and the portion size was very generous. There was enough for 2 plates. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and coleslaw. I believe it was a meal deal which was definitely value for money (see what I said about the portion size). Anyway the rice and peas was very nice, the chicken was outstanding. I could literally taste all the different flavours. It wasn’t too spicy/hot, the consistency was impregnable. I’ve been eating here ever since. Service is great, always and nice and friendly environment. I have and would definitely recommend..!

Dont bother had the ackee and salt fish it about killed me was violently sick all day and night then checked the food standards website 1 star no good

Had delivery from here so this review is based on that experience only. I've been on a personal mission to try all the jerk chicken here in Bristol, and this was an old spot for me during university a few years back when I was living in fishponds - a revisit was a must as I only went there once. Two portions of large jerk chicken (with rice and peas) and jerk sauce each. Up there with the best in Bristol, I could not recommend it enough. The aroma hits you as soon as you open the box - smokey mouth watering chicken. The portion sizes were amazing, one tub for rice n peas and one for the chicken (on the large at least). Which was enough for a full belly, but I could've easily eaten more simply because the taste was next level. You can tell much love goes into the chicken, if you've ever walked past you would have seen the level of attention they give to chicken outside cooking. The jerk sauce was a great addition I'd recommend to pour over the chicken and rice, not that chicken needs it but it does add more flavour to the rice n peas. 10/10. My personal favourite so far on my jerk journey hunt, can't wait to order from here again. Ignore the lower review score - it's a must try if you're after some authentic jerk chicken.

Ordered brown stew chicken with some sides. Really quick delivery, piping hot and utterly delicious. The ultimate comfort food and great vfm. First time customer, and I'll definitely be back!!

Poor customer service, constantly run out of items and food is very bland. If you order, a lot of the items are either not put in the order or replaced with something else you never asked for. You ask them questions and they are rude and uninformative. You call, they hang up the phone on you. Don’t waste your money here. If I could give 0 out of 5 stars I would.

Usually steam veg comes with main dishes with the price! Lots of juice, not enough meat for the price!! Rice n peas a little dry!! Service and delivery good!!

If I could leave 0 stars I would but I can't. Spent 50 quid on food for the family for half of it to be missing! I call to let them know and I quote "not my problem" I ask for it to be re delivered and she tells me "no not my problem" will never go here again. The woman's attitude is disgusting! Do not recommend even if its the last place open.

The food is good. Eat in? Sure. I do not recommend ordering delivery from them as they constantly run out of items and do not know how to cancel your orders with companies like deliveroo resulting in you wasting time when you just want some food. String of bad experiences. It’s a clear pattern. Good food. Bad delivery management.

Eaten here before and was great. After 2nd order I will recommend everyone to stay well away. Paid (£10.20 for large) ackee and salt fish, the delivery was over an hour late and what was delivered was an absolute joke to say the least. The equivalent of two table spoons of ackee and saltfish. What a mockery to say the least. DO NOT GET THE ACKEE AND SALTFISH FROM HERE

Absolute terrible service. We ordered from here on mother's day and received an e mail with confirmation and the money taken from my account. We drove 3 miles to collect our order and got outside to find it shut! About ten minutes later we received another e mail confirming the order had been cancelled. I have still not received my refund and will never order from this place again.

Worst Caribbean food I have had in a long time. Ordered Goat curry with rice and peas, no flava at all really bad. Goat curry is not supposed to taste like this - had no spices and had a horrid after taste. Rice and peas tasted really bland - this place is definitely not jamaican. After eating this food got really ill every since. Definitely wont be coming back here. Much better caribbean places in town than this place. I had to dash this food it was so bad

Ordered food in plenty of time and sat there hours waiting even though we paid in full, called to question what was going on during the wait to be told we were not getting any food and they were closing, not any level of customer service so 1 star , can’t criticise or praise the quality of the food as it never turned up.

Had the chicken curry and dumplings for lunch. Great flavours, good portions, good price and the folks running the place were very friendly. Happily go again.

I love the food and enjoy it. I especially love the jellof rice, bit spicey, but hey!!!!but I've ordered chicken soup over the last few weeks, because i had covid and thats all i could eat and there has been no chicken and just one small dumplin and delivery is aver an hour when I am just down the road

Half my order was missing, the chicken was dry, rice over seasoned, festivals were over cooked to the point I’d chip a tooth on it & the delivery was late. I phoned the establishment and was greeted by someone who just didn’t give a s**t. “Yeah might be 10, 20 minutes before it gets there”. Good customer service 😂

Don't bother. Order never arrived. Estimated delivery was 1 hour, after 2 hours still nothing. No update and the restaurant don't answer their phone. Check other reviews, seems to be a thing with them

I am very sorry Mamma P’s! I just left you a very bad review on just eat because it was late and the app then told me it had been delivered, and I then waited another 20mins and was about to order something else. But the food came and it is bloody delicious, made the wait worth it!! Finger linking chicken, rice amazing and the spice is spot on. Thank you and sorry for the bad review.

Very nice food and always hot and fresh. The staff are perfectly friendly and the inside is colourful and welcoming. You do have to wait quite a long time and they sometimes don't have all the dishes you want but overall it is brilliant and I will be going back there again and again.

The food was very tasty, would've been better with steamed veg as standard, but this is a side dish which I didn't opted for as I thought it would've come standard with the meal. Delivery was on time with a polite service. I would recommend! I will be going back

Encouraged by a Jamaican friend this is my first foray into Jamaican cuisine. On said friends advice I ordered brown stew chicken, and what a treat it was! The chicken was so tender Elvis Presley would've written a song about it if he tried it. The meat just fell off the bone and was absolutely packed with flavour. It was a great portion size and filled up my hungry tummy for sure. The staff a friendly, polite and patient. I will definitely be stopping in again next time I am in the area to try something else from the menu. Thank you Mamma P's.

Miss living down the road from this! 10/10 Everytime! Nice to have some proper Jamaican chicken and rice, reminded me of being back there!

First and last time. Was advised delivery would be an hour - fine. Turns out the delivery drive has the wrong phone number, was waiting for 5/10mins while my order was getting cold then tells me he has no change!! Was he seriously thinking I'd give over a fiver as tip !!.

Super delicious meal!! I've ordered chicken meal. It came with rice, beans, caramelised onions and some carrots. The chicken was very tender and full of flavours. The rice also full of flavours but oily. This is a large size box. Big portion. The staff are very kind and friendly. I do recommend them.

Delicious food (all really nice) very good value (expect it roughly £8 each) only complaint it wasn't very eco there were plastic bags and polystyrene boxes galore. All in all, a good restaurant.

Getting a takeaway is meant to be a treat. Had an unpleasant experience with this place. Waited for an hour for the food, which was delivered to the wrong place. The guy at the restaurant made no effort to be kind or polite and was aggressive with an unpleasant attitude. We had to sort it ourselves by guessing where the food had gone and fetching it. Bad vibes. Won't be returning or recommending. Not worth the effort, price or being yelled at.

The gentleman who delivered our food was very polite and the food arrived piping hot! The food was all absolutely DIVINE! We had the fried chicken, the curry goat, the jerk chicken, three delicious chicken legs, some gorgeous callalloo and some coleslaw. I would recommend everyone tries them all, and then has it again. We heard about Mamma P's through Ujima and I'm glad we did, the whole meal was truly the tastiest food I've had in a very long time. Will be making sure this becomes a place we visit regularly! Thank you for creating and sharing this amazing food work us, we love it! 💛

Ordered food at 1848 through just eat, received food 2052. No apology considering the food was due 2000. Excuse was she had lots of deliveries on the way. Poor attitude, well not ordering from there again and don’t think for one minute you’d be able to call to ask where your food is, it’s a complete joke.

I have been meaning to visit Mamma Ps for the past three years and this week have finally taken the courage to do so...... Twice in one week. The first time I ordered jerk chicken and rice and peas. I was AMAZED! Impeccable service and fantastic tasting food in a quaint little diner. My second order was takeaway ackee saltfish and callalloo with rice and peas: humble and refreshing. I would definitely suggest Mamma P to family or friends; anytime. Have you been yet?

Loved eating here today the food was so good and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend a visit and the curried goat was one of the best I've ever had.

Lovely stew chicken plus rice & peas, they were kindly able to take some of the peas out as I don't like a lot of it in the dish.

Great food here. Fried chicken came fresh off the coals for a nice smoky flavour. Had the curry goat too which was banging. Got that home cooked vibe going on so i cant wait to try the rest of the menu. Would give 6 stars of i could.
