Mama's Cafe in Southwark

I live nearby and I am so glad I discovered this place. Atmosphere is nice and cosy, staff is very friendly and the food is really tasty. I am planning to come back often!

Discovered this place by chance,hotel had catering under refurbishment so found this place next door and boy was it good. Went both days I had left of my holiday. Small but cosy, family run business and food worth waiting for. Extensive menu. Recommend it.

Gérant très sympa, on a été servis assez rapidement, lieu calme. Le seul bémol est que la nourriture est décongelée : flageolets un peu fades, bacon ni tendre ni crispy, saucisses fades aussi. Les frites et hash browns étaient moins décevants mais on sentait quand même bien que c'était décongelé... Très dommage et incompréhensible vu la note de 4.9

We had full English breakfast here twice on our trip to London and it was nearly perfect. Very tasty sausage and bacon and a nice man doing all the work.

Visiting from New York and the owner is a very pleasant person. The food was wonderful and made fresh to order. The coffee’s and latte’s we had were great too. Highly recommend this local cafe.

After a very disappointing breakfast at the Travelodge next door, I found this cafe after a Google search. Wish I had done this the night before. Food freshly cooked to order and you can have whatever you fancy, not just set meals, the gentleman working there, I believe was the owner was really friendly. The food was delicious, the cafe was clean, and the prices were very reasonable and much cheaper than the hotel. I will come back for sure next time I'm in London

Wonderful place. The owner was very kind and helpful of suggesting places to see while enjoying our stay in London. Food was fantastic! The baguette was fresh and cappuccino was incredible. Would highly recommend this cafe!

On our train into Waterloo Station I was searching for places for breakfast near the station. Mamas Cafe came up and it was a short walk. I just want to say that it was a great breakfast! I highly recommend! The conversation with the cook (I'm assuming also the owner) was great. He seemed genuine asking us as to where we were from and sharing a little about himself. Thanks for a great breakfast!

It is a small family cafe, the service was amongst the 5 star hotels I have been too with the food, which was cooked from fresh, and lovely, plus theorise was awesome for what you got. I'll definitely be back there, thank you.

Auf der Suche nach einem typisch englischen Frühstück sind wir, auch aufgrund der guten Bewertungen, hier gelandet. Was soll ich sagen....sie stimmen zu 100 %! Im Urlaub Land und Leute kennenzulernen, indem man isst wie sie und nicht wie Touristen, ist ja immer ein guter Plan, aber Mama's Cafe verbindet auf schönste Weise Londoner Art und lecker Frühstück und das zu gutem Preis! Wir waren (fast) jeden Morgen dort!

I hate the faceless rip off service from big chains so finding Mamas was a real treat. Great, traditional cafe food, service with a smile and amazing value for money. The extra tip was thoroughly well deserved.

Liten og koselig cafe Vi gikk tilfeldigvis innom og entene opp med klassisk engelsk frokost med beste resultat vi kunne tenkt oss. Vegetarvennlig! Kokken var også veldig hyggelig.

Lovely little find just 200m from the travelodge. Wish we'd found it the day before when we walked 2.5miles only to end up back at Waterloo in the Costa!! Very small though

Hand down the best breakfast I’ve had on my trip to London. Small place (slightly hole in the wall feel) but owner/cook was awesome and super friendly. Food tasted great!

If you are staying at the Travel Lodge you must skip their breakfast and walk a half block to Mama’s Cafe! Superb food, at a fraction of the price. I had an omelette and hash browns both were perfectly done and delicious! My husband had the big breakfast and cleared his plate.

The cutest little breakfast spot ever with amazing food and a chill vibe. The guy who runs the place is so nice and friendly and worked super fast to get everyone's food and tea ready.

This is a wonderful breakfast place! We had our breakfast here every morning while staying in London. This place gave us one of the best memories during our three-week travel in Europe. The chef was very kind, personal, and professional. On the second day of our visit, he remembered our preferences on bread and coffee. We miss this place a lot!

Prima plek voor een echt Engels ontbijtje. Onze eerste ochtend samen van dit weekendje London met mijn dochter hebben we om de hoek genoten van dit leuke zaakje. Zij wilde ook wel eens een echt Engels ontbijt en dat kan hier prima. Aardige man, prima menu met voor elk wat wils. Met liefde bereid en met plezier opgegeten. Een aanrader!

Lovely service. They have a wide range of breakfast options. It would be even better if they had some vegan cheese so I could've had a nice mushroom toastie this morning. Will be back again for a nice quiet tea. :)

Me and my wife was staying in the travelodge near by and found this little GEM!!!! The food is amazing staff were so friendly I recommend anybody wanting proper food and service with a smile to visit don't let the small size of shop put you off as you can not get better than here

Had breakfast here yesterday 14/09/21 with the family. The breakfasts were cooked fresh to order and great value for money, great customer service by the owner (I regret not taking his name) made to feel welcome and a nice “proper cafe” which is refreshing with all the chain restaurants muscling in on breakfasts!! Throughly recommend, a small but really friendly cafe that was welcoming and looked after us and the kids. Pay a visit you won’t be disappointed 👌👌👌 5 ⭐️

Lovely place to have breakfast, great customer service and I got a delicious filling meal (including toast and tea) for only £6.20! They don’t have a customer toilet- so make sure you use the bathroom elsewhere before you come.

If you are staying in a nearby hotel like us then go to Mama’s, its an absolute gem for breakfast & coffee. Lovely guy runs it too, deserves every success.

I found this Café a while back when first working in the Waterloo Elephant and castle area for a local university, and have never gone anywhere since, nice and cozy place with great food and a friendly Chef, if you have the time to stay for a chat with your tea or coffee now that we can. If your just passing and need a pick me up check out the menu and very reasonably priced as well. Five stars if that was ever a rating good job Chef

This is what a cafe should be. I was at the travelodge paying a tenner for an industrial breakfast until I discovered this gem. An absolutely amazing breakfast at half the cost. Quick friendly service and a quiet space in the London rush. Well done to all concerned.

Come here for breakfast when in London nothing is any trouble to the man that as the cafe all made fresh to order.. hope to see you next year
