Fantastic dinner last night. Service and food both great. Will definitely be returning!

What a wonderful restaurant! Delicious food and the best hospitality we’ve experienced in a while. It really felt like being back in Italy. The atmosphere was great and every table in the restaurant was full, but this didn’t impact the service level at all. Make sure you book as it’s clearly very popular! Thank you Mama Mia for a fabulous birthday meal. We will be back!

A great little restaurant. The staff are always fun and friendly without being intrusive and the food is fantastic. I’ve never had a meal there that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed.

Stopped in for lunch today, had the seafood spaghetti. Tasted great and the portion was very generous. Service was fantastic as well, the staff are very polite and attentive. Kaya and Mano did their best to make me feel welcome and always do their best to accommodate! I can't speak of Mama Mia highly enough!

I've previously eaten here and the food was decent and would have returned, although today I parked here when attending the what seems to be connecting properties /shared car parked. As I was parking up, what I presume to be a chef stood watching and waiting for me to get out of the car before informing me it was their car park. At this point I asked him why he decided to steer and wait for me to park to inform me of such, he then turned his back and ignored me. Therefore despite a close friend being a regular here where I would have returned for dinner I will not spend my monies here do to this rude chap.

Had dinner there for my birthday on a Monday night, and was met by a charming, family-run restaurant. The food was first-class, the service above and beyond, and the setting exquisite. The best Italian in Hampshire!

Absolutely incredible food, great service and all round amazing evening out. Been here several times and never fails to impress. Me and my wife went for our wedding anniversary dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend.

I live 2 mins walking distance, im happy to say its a privilege as this is by far the best. Paulo , his wife and team do a first class job from the minute you enter through the door. A proper restaurant, polite staff, excellent food and so warm welcoming too. Cant wait to go back, Thank You all very much, had a lovely evening with a close friend and met another local friend on his anniversary, ended up a fantastic evening with drinks at the bar.

A Monday night is a weird time to go to a restaurant, but they were reasonably busy. Food good, but slightly slow service. The beer was perfectly chilled though, so that made up for it.

We went here for my birthday and our group were in the conservatory. Food was absolutely lovely and the service was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Don't want to critise too much as 3 out of 4 of us enjoyed the meal, hence why I have given a 3 marking. Personally though I was very disappointed. The meal was for my 50th birthday (although the restaurant did not know that). I was looking forward to a really good pizza to be told the pizza chef was not in so no pizza that Saturday night. OK it happens but it should have been mentioned when they phoned that morning to confirm the booking. Being vegetarian that left me with 2 options. One I didn't fancy so had pasta with mushrooms, cherry tomato's and olive oil. Pretty tasteless and the oil tasted like it had been used previously to fry seafood. The restaurant has a good reputation but it's not somewhere I would go back to.

Good Italian restaurant, food was enjoyable,.the only reason it loses a star was I was looking forward to trying their pizza, but there was no pizza chef that day.

Went for a night out with friends and was good. Nice service and good portion well cooked food.

Can only think that making an early booking was a mistake. Friendly welcome but not a smile, in fact not a word from the waiting staff. Service was fast, which initially seemed fine. Unfortunately this extended to the clearing of plates, while some were still eating their meal. In fact, for one diner, the last mouthful was being eaten as the plate was removed. Felt rushed and even left half an hour before we needed to. Considering this is not a ‘cheap eatery’ I did expect, as standard, some finger bowls or wipes for those eating butterflied prawns and mussels. Only one male toilet, first time I had watched a queue for the Gents while eating my meal! Having said that the restaurant itself is bright and clean with nice white table linen. The avocado/crab starter is to be recommended as are the prawns in garlic, though messy to eat. (Hand wipes!?) Maybe I’ll try again one day, as intrigued by all the 5*’s

Service was good, location is okay. Food however was really questionable, and not something I would call authentic Italian. The cheese pizza had an overbearing red leceister flavour - far too much on the pizza. The duck breast was over cooked, not rested long enough and there was no crisp to the skin. The berry sauce was made with frozen or tinned berries and had no flavour of sweet chilli as mentioned on the menu. Additionally, I found the drinks to be overpriced and the bill confusing.

Haven't been to Mama Mia for 10 years as it's been off my Radar. Not anymore it was excellent. Food, Service and atmosphere all good. Only feedback is it was a little dark in the Orangerie for my liking. Other than that can highly recommend!

my wife and I had the greatest pleasure celebrating our anniversary last Thursday 9th March at Mama Mia. Welcoming staff, no sour face when I asked for tap water as the designated driver that evening. Atmosphere, presentation first class. Our food was a delight my venison especially so, compliments to the chef. We have an 45 minute drive to this restaurant and will gladly do it again.

Haven’t been here for many years so wanted to try it out again after seeing good reviews. My husband and I had originally booked for our anniversary dinner but ended up eating out at lunch that day instead so changed the booking for my birthday meal with our sons a few days later. Not sorry we didn’t go for anniversary as ambiance was very lacking. Lights were very bright and did not feel in the least romantic. Which really surprised me. But food was mostly very nice. Service was good and attentive. The starters were good, whitebait, bruschetta, and prawns in a chilli tomato sauce being the favourites. I had the Avocado Mamma Mia which was ok but very heavy on the Avocado compared to the small amount of prawns and smoked salmon. Out of the four main meals, the two pasta dishes were the least enjoyed due to ‘lack of flavour’ but I enjoyed the fillet of beef medallions in peppercorn sauce and one of my sons enjoyed his risotto then finished off Dad’s leftover seafood pasta. Desserts were lovely. Profiteroles, honeycomb cheesecake and vanilla gelato. No complaints there! I didn’t see the bill but I imagine it wasn’t cheap. We had one bottle of Pinot and I had a glass of the delicious dessert wine. Other than that we all just drank water which may have kept the price down just a little. Overall a nice evening was had. Would I rush back? Probably not anytime very soon as there are other places I’d like to try. But I’m glad we gave it a go.

Food was good, good wine choices, but very hard to make conversation in the conservatory as seemed very noisy.

Don't bother veryvery expensive for pasta seafood no meat and the cheek to put service charge on top will definitely not go back

The food was delicious... will always go there if I am in the area.

The service was good. The food was cooked well. However being served frozen chips, some with black potato eyes was a disappointment. I would have expected hand made chips in perfect condition from a prestigious restaurant that cost us over £60 per head. Overall the dining experience was good and would recommend.

Really nice lunch from a set menu

Visited for a celebratory meal and were not disappointed. A warm welcome, great service and very tasty food; particularly the Gamberoni All Aglio, Moules Mariniere and Filleto Rossini. My husband was really taken with the Limoncello ice cream dessert. Hopefully, will be back within the month; that says it all!

All the staff are very professional and friendly. The restaurant is very nice and suitable for casual dining and celebration as well. All the food is very delicious. I like appetizers, spaghetti and risotto. I will definitely try pizza next time. Very enjoyable lunch!

This is the first time we've eaten at this restaurant and won't be the last. We (Me and my 8 year old) stopped for dinner on our way back home and discovered we'd stumbled across a gem of a restaurant. The food was perfect. The waiters and owner welcoming, friendly and providing excellent service. The food was the best my child had ever had! I don't eat gluten and there was a great selection available. The restaurant was slowly filling which is a good sign for a Thursday and contributed towards a nice atmosphere. Although my child was the only one there I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for families looking for a special treat.

Cooked by Italians, served by Italians, this is lovely Italian cusine. All our dishes for four of us were good to excellent. It's not cheap, but as a lunching experience, I rate it highly.

Lovely place,, looks like it is a converted pub to me. Staff very courteous and efficient. Meals were brought out to us very promptly after ordering. If I was in the area I would go again.

We decided to celebrate my wife's birthday having a meal at Mama Mia near Hartley Wintney. The resteraunt was fairly quiet as it was lunch time. The ambiance is good and the staff very friendly. What a shame there are NO DISABLED TOILETS. The good was good but needed more seasoning. The butterfly prawns in chilli tomato sauce were delicious with enough heat from the chilli 🌶 without being over powering. All in all a lovely lunch time celebration in a good resteraunt. I would have given 5 stars had the seasoning of the main and starter courses been attended to better. But nothing that cannot be rectified.

Great quality food and service....never disappointed!

Our 9 year old daughter and 4 other schools sang so beautifully that we went and had some celebration ice cream. Friendly and very welcoming, great atmosphere, lovely food and beer. Definitely be going back.

First time visiting after being told it was so nice. We felt unwelcomed, rushed and the food was not that great and certainly not worth the price. Better restaurants in Hartley Wintney. No offer of coffee, no mints, no limoncello, nothing just the bill. The bill was also rushed and the lady hopped from one table to another to take payment. Whole experience was rubbish. Others were looked after. Very clicky and look after their regulars only. Will not be returning.

This is up there with good London Italian restaurants. It's not cheap, but the decor is nice and the food is fresh and absolutely delicious. Recommended. But you have to book early!

Disappointing Had high hopes with all the good reviews but failed to meet the mark. Went for special occasion and must say food is incredibly overpriced and nothing special. Asked for no onions on pizza but when delivered covered in onions no one apologised for the error and had to sit with no food while waiting for correct order. My partner ordered Greens with his main which never arrived when everyone had finished a waiter came over and said you never received your veg did you I’ll take it off the bill 😳 I would hope you would we never received it. To top it off charged for pizza… total cost for 5 people £260 service was not good for that price and food ok but not for the price. Won’t return.

Nice staff and I just love the food here, everything from the steak to the pasta dishes it’s all worth while. Ample parking front and back provided and it’s just outside Hartley Whitney so you’d need your car or long walk to get there.

Ordered a supposedly vegetarian starter (asparagus) that had bacon wrapped around it. Apart from that, good service and tasty food. Would be good if they mark vegetarian dishes to avoid this in future.

Not good value for money ,50pp bit much, for basic menu

Good food, nice atmosphere, attentive staff. Good portions but some dishes were a little rich and repetitive in terms of taste variety (e.g white crab risotto). Brulee Cheesecake was fantastic. We didn't try the steaks but will do next time.

Early Valentines meal. Cosy. Intimate. Lovely hospitality. Real Italian food. Starters we has cheesy garlic bread, butterflied king prawns which came in like a tangy tomato sauce however I was expecting something more buttery / garlicky, and sardines! I ordered my main of crab risotto from the specials menu, and bf had the seafood linguine. Everything was just full of flavour. Personally for me, risotto in general is a bit of a one dimensional dish - however this was one of the tastier risottos I've had. Huge portion. Dessert: tiramasu and creme brulee cheesecake - both are great but get the cheesecake if you're wanting something a bit different! 😋
