This is a real find. You order your coffee & cake & then go to sit in an area at the back of the Abbey. This means you get to view the amazing architecture whilst enjoying your drink. So much more interesting. I'd highly recommend the coffee & cake too.

The cafe is inside the abbey and you have a choice of sitting on sofas inside or on chairs in the abbey garden. Service was friendly and there was a good selection of cakes and pastries. My cheese scone was superb, really tasty and well presented. Good value too.

The Abbey is stunning ... the cafe is average, however, the staff are lovely ... the tea/coffee are OK, it's just that the cakes were a bit blah.

Cafe attached to the abbey in the centre of town. Set outside in the cloisters and walled garden it is very peaceful. Not sure how they would cope if it rained but we had a lovely sunny day. It is take away but the tea was good and the cake very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, so we enjoyed our brief relax in the walls of the abbey.

Me encanta!

Popped in to have a look at the abbey. A steward asked if we had five minutes for him to tell us some of the history and gave us an interesting short chat on the building and the history. We then wandered around ourselves and had a look at the building. It was a very pleasant and relaxing place.

I was unsure at first as there didn't seem to be any tables outside and I wanted to sit in the sun on the first day of decent weather this year. However i was told i could sit on any of a number of benches in the grounds or take a picnic blanket from a basket and sit in the lawn. The toasted sandwiches were lovely and cake was delicious and it was lovely to sit next to this beautiful building in the sun.

I have been here a couple of times - it's lovely to have lunch in the Abbey. Last time I went there was a choir singing - you don't get that in many cafes. The menu isn't that extensive, mainly just sandwiches, but their ploughmans is pretty impressive. Both times I've been it's been with children - it's very child friendly, there is lots of space, rooms for buggies, books for them to read and the staff in the cafe have always been really friendly. They'll do a half size sandwich for the kids. I'd definitely recommend it.

Having lived in and around Malmesbury for some 25 years now this is the very first time that my wife and I have visited Malmesbury Abbey Cafe.We were pleasantly surprisedthat it was not too over commercialized. The drinks and super cake were not overpriced and were scrumptious. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk in the gardens as well. Paul & Jenny Reeves

Highly recommended that you visit this cafe. On a bank holiday Sunday afternoon as we were returning to Devon, we took a detour from the M4 for a bite to eat. Many thousand times better than the motorway services, the discretely professional service got us some very tasty sandwiches and drinks. We cannot praise it highly enough.

What can be said about a 1000+year old Abbey, its stunning in every way and the guides/stewards can bring the place to life if you talk to them.We often pop in for the best decaf latte and cappuccino around and its so affordable at £1.50 each. The bacon rolls are superb with 3 slices of bacon in the day we had them. Then there are those cakes, wow wow wow. The inches pile on to the waist as you look and at £1.75 they are great value. The staff here are so friendly however you have to remember its a working church so they sometimes have to close for a wedding or other service. Highly recommended in every way.

Won’t be back - coffee ok but woeful miserable staff. A smile, a bit of engagement, even eye contact makes a difference - you want to feel welcome rather than an intruder. Surely when money is tight places realise they might have to go that bit extra to encourage people to go back.

Website showed great promise. Kerbside appeal good, car parking good, service very good ( very helpful and friendly). Strange layout inside as its old building, dining room has no bar. Garden not used to its full potential, only very old tired play equipment for children. Food reasonable, 2 out of 3 meals okay. Third meal of chicken disappointing, either poor quality meat or overcooked or possibly both !!!!! Empty on a nice sunny lunchtime !!! Sorry but would not rush back.
